Hi Chriz, I just saw this video & the very thought of Fiat Multipla came to my mind & I thought of putting a comment but I guess I am a little late as well as you too have a similar mind frequency & memories as mine. Cheers mate
The exterior is a bit multipla-y, although strangely I kinda like it? But anyway, the main thing with this car is the inside and seriously!!! Why can't other cheap cars have lovely colours like this! They can still be a cheap material like you said it's hard plastic, but the seats have the unique armchair-esque pattern, and the colour combination is lovely and modern. Why should cheaper cars be all grey and black?
But will they bring it? If so, when will that even happen? With Binguo currently on sale, would make sense bringing "Cloud EV". But it remains to be seen at what price point.
@@alexblonduxxl Wuling's version of it, so-called the Cloud EV happens to be priced at IDR 398 MIO after 1% Luxury Tax for CKD EV models with minimum of 40% local contents
So thank you for the review and the ride along. This is a car that I would actually buy, particularly at that price point, and I think often times what gets lost in conversations about the transition from ICE cars to EV’s is not just cost or quality, but that how do we get to this cost/quality at a price point that would make people think about maybe they could fit their lifestyle into an EV, because everyone don’t need Tesla‘s performance, which is absolutely off the charts, no doubt about that. So full disclosure, I drive a Tesla, and I absolutely love it, and to me there’s nothing on the road that compares to it. However, the price tag is also out of this world, and with all fairness, the prices have come down considerably from when I bought mine. However, it’s still kinda pricey for those who are skeptical about EV’s, and those who simply can’t see themselves driving anything except an ICE car, because that’s what they’re comfortable with, and that population still represents the majority of people living in the US. So what Tesla, and all the other OEMs needs to worry about is these kinds of cars coming out of China, that really do have quality, and are coming in at a price point that I don’t think any of the OEM legacy auto manufacturers, like a Ford, GM or Tesla can match, because they’re so focused on performance, and quality which are kind of subjective, because if you can manufacture a car at a price point that would at least get people looking at these cars, and trying to figure out if they can afford one or live with one, and let’s face it all the hype, and excitement around all these other cars, I don’t think have resulted in what some of us expected say 10 years ago. Cheers
The third partner, Wuling Motor, still exists and has some other businesses. Mostly custom versions of the JV vans, cartlike factory/resort shuttles etc..
Oh we're very familiar with Wuling, as we've reviewed the MINI EV (twice), the Bingo, the Asta, the Fighting, the Air EV, and even the Hongguang PLUS. I didn't include them simply because it's quicker and easier just to mention the major partners, SAIC and GM.
Awesome car. Wish it had physical controls for HVAC. Love the design. This would be perfect for city and suburbs. The panoramic roof is a must. Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Side view reminds me of the Scion xA from around 2005. I think that the front and rear designs look great. The vehicle deserves more interesting wheels.
Hope to see a review from wheelsboy about the Hyper SSR from Aion soon. I have so much interest in that car but every other reviews I've seen are in chinese lmao......if wheelsboy gets to review one I'd be sure if I should go ahead with buying one
😂 GM executive is going to fy to China to have a word with him if he does that. The SSR might just have enough spec. Showing on paper to put GM in a hot seat to redesign the E Ray in response to the SSR.
When I saw the thumbnail image of the car it looks tiny but seeing a person next to it, it is deceptively large! It’s like a limousine in the back… I see what you mean about the French vibe, but I really feel like it is its own thing. I know it is an MPV but as a person who lives in the US I wonder in the American market I wonder where it would fit in, because I think it could be a great segment here! It’s small but big, I can see it being easy to get in and out of for people who can’t squeeze into sporty cars… it looks comfortable… and it’s inexpensive? Wow!
You guys just got the BYD Seal though. Much more expensive sure, but it is EASILY the cheapest BYD is selling the Seal outside of China. Mid trim long range Seal for 58k AUD is crazy value.

@@tren133yeah, I'm getting too old to thrash around in cars anymore, I currently have a Mitsubishi minicab miev EV Kei van and really enjoy that, it has only 4 newton metres of torque less than the cloud so I'd rather the baojun had another 100 or so. I'm a sucker for large internal space in a small car and reckon one of these would see me out😁
I'm not sure on the coffee cup placement. Make sure you drive carefully when you have coffees as if you crash not only will the passenger get smacked in the face by an airbag they will also get covered in scolding hot coffee! 😂
It seems that the definition of MPV is quite different in the West. In China, only these large (except a few models like BYD Song Max which is only 4.4 meters in length), 3-row (or 3-row capable but fitted with only 2 rows of seats) vans are called MPVs. And Baojun Yunduo is often compared with BYD Dolphin.
I had this conversation with a friend of mine while I was preparing my script. My description of it as an MPV is more a stylistic one. It feels taller than a traditional hatch like the Dolphin (and it is). According to the more traditional definition of an MPV, this one wouldn't qualify.
Even with the 27% tariff, you'd think GM could just put a more powerful electric motor in it, slap a Chevy badge on, and send it over for sale in the US as the next gen Bolt. Unlike GM's US factories, Wuling could produce hundreds of thousands of these easily if there is demand.
The highlight of this car is its low-cost autonomous driving capability and automatic parking ability provided by DJI. It's strange that you didn't properly evaluate it
Sadly, the amount of time we had to film this car was very limited, as it was borrowed from a dealership. To properly evaluate and film those systems would take at least an entire day, there's simply so many of them. I did use the DJI system in the Baojun Yep, so you can check out that video for more info. One day, I'd like to be able to check out the valet park assist, which seems pretty unbelievable for a car this cheap.
At this point, a majority of Chinese models do not have an English menu option, but that's quickly changing as more and more of them look to export to other countries.
This car has come to india for 12k USD excluding battery named (MG Windsor) and with a $75 / month as the rent for battery with life time warrenty.....

Good to see that at least the chinese are selling compacy MPVs, now when thr french has lost themselves in an endless tsunami of pointless SUVs. Watcjh and learn, Renault and Citroën! This is exactly the kind of car I like - if only it came with easilly removable back seats, like I used to have in my Renault Scenic.
they can always update the UI, they can't really update the size of the hardware after its released though. And you need a big screen to make things convenient since the car has no physical buttons (honestly not my favorite design choice but whatever)

Has to if he wants the US audience because the US never accepted the metric sys.

you say it looks French, I'd agree - Renault had a string of oddly shaped vehicles that are still popular as used cars here in Spain.
