I had an Xpeng shipped to Matamoros and got it plated with Tamaulipas plates. One of the guys helping drove it to Brownsville TX and I picked it up at a hotel. Loaded it onto a car carrier I had waiting and got it to my home state. That was 9 months ago and it's been one of my favorite vehicles, I drive it every day. I should have waited for the X9 but was too impatient

When I first saw it, I thought it was a new car from a French company. It looks fashionable and modern. This is another step forward for cars from China.

Incredible, the best I've seen from Xpeng! Actually, the best looking family car I've seen yet!! I never got into SUVs or dreamt of having one. Great looking MPVs all the rage now in Southeast East Asia, great job by Xpeng!

I scheduled a test drive of X9 in a few weeks with my local Xpeng store. I am already a Xpeng owner, but the store likes to call us back for new modal releases.

Wow, this vehicle is really impressive. It looks very nice, and for such a huge car the balance in the design is just right. And it looks surprisingly good in white, because of all the contrasting black pieces. The interior looks nice too, and the rear seats are amazing. Not groundbreaking, but just really nice. Here in Europe, the market for these vehicles is quite limited. You can buy an XPeng P5 and P7 here in The Netherlands, but I doubt that anyone would want to buy this enormous car here. Because of its luxury features it will get into Mercedes-Benz territory, and will be priced alike here. The P7 costs at least 50000 euros now, I expect a price of 80000-100000 euros for this X9. Still less expensive than a Mercedes, but people looking for cars in that market segment tend to buy German by default here in Europe...

Most manufacturers and certainly most buyers are currently too busy with their sunroofs, panaromic sunroofs, moonroofs, or whatever they are called. I love the way how this one pays attention to a proper TV screen and superb back seats with multi stretch and recline features. Do people realise that much in demand sun roof actually means a big compromise in safety by way of reduced passenger cabin/shell rigidity?
These type of vehicles are very popular in HK because often people have their parents living with them and their kids in the same house. Most are Toyota Alphards or Velfires. You get these wheh you order UberXL. This Xpeng is probably the nicest version of this style if vehicle I have seen.
They allow it, but the USA raised import tax for cars to 25%. And EU has 10% and is about to increase it's import taxes for cars to higher percentage. Because China also has a high import tax. So actually it's the mistake of China in this import tax war having the highest taxes on many products. Therefore the REACTION to China's ACTIONS = higher import taxes. Which is pretty fair. China just wants the cake and eat it. That's not how world trade works. World trade doesn't work by destroying other industries. (China's plan)

This style of MPV is actually pretty common in China. Lexus, various Chinese makers and amazing BUICK! There are a crap ton of Buick MPVs in this exact style in China. They are generally operated by hotels and other upscale places that cater to richer clientele who like to be driven around.
Everything about the design is great, the honeycomb grill slightly distract the clean lines, but much better than Japanese luxo MPV like Toyota Alphard/Lexus LM.
Unfortunately, the American protectionism will prevent this marvelously high tech EV from entering the U.S. market . Once XPENG makes it to here. It’s game over for the other auto makers.

One little tidbit about the physics of a drag coefficient: If that coefficient is lower on the Xpeng X9 compared to the Tesla Model Y, it doesn't mean, that it has less drag. To calculate the drag you also have to multiply by the front-facing area, which definitely is larger in the Xpeng X9.
OK... I want one. I went for a G3 for my company car and that replaced a Buick GL8 I had but although the G3 is fine, the sitting in a van is far better. can do work in the back, can put a lot more things on weekens. and this looks cool!
Be careful with it though, Motormouth covered a case in Vancouver that dealer charged 60k to replace the battery in a Ioniq 5 which they “thought” the battery might be damaged.
You forgot to mention that when one buys an Xpeng, they throw in a recliner like the one you sat on in the video as well as a pair of Xpeng branded chinos, colour coded to match the cream interior of the car. Now... That's a great deal.

XPeng does have an upcoming land aircraft carrier that carries a VTOL drone, I kid you not.
It would be great if Honda or Toyota were as brave as Xpeng. Unfortunately, the van market in the US is suppressed by the demand for SUVs.
