Tata Tiago has Home fast charging, electric auto folding mirrors, cooled glove box, leatherette seats, more powerful motor with 75ps, Liquid cooled battery and motor pack, more motor warranty of 8yr/ 1. 60lakh)than ec3 (5yr/1lakh), Auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, rear wiper washer with demister, projector head lamps, push button start, Fatc, smart watch connectivity, 4 levels of regenerative braking, IP 67 rated battery and motor, auto battery cutoff on impact/ accident, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed dependent volume, adjustable head rests, electric tailgate release and many more. Does ec3 have these features 😁?
Tiago EV also has cruise control, auto climate control, reverse camera with dynamic guides, very informative display and above all it has 4/5 star NCAP rating.
I own a Mg comet and use it in Bengaluru which is considered the most congested city. The interiors are super premium and the space for 4 person is absolutely comfortable. The range for me as I have driven around 5500 kms comes to an avg between 220 to 235 without AC. I even did a one day trip with it covering 200 kms and it worked wonders. As charging stations are on the rise, this can be a little wonder!! I test drove the Tiago but it was no way near to the experience of Mg comet but only with the advantage of Fast charging!!
MG does not drive around the corner like what a conventional car does. Sharp bumps over 50 are quite bad. For a more expensive option than Tiago ev which drives and handles much better, you need to be a complete form over function kind of person to go for one (after having tested all options). Having driven all of these cars, I personally went for a 15000 km driven used Nexon ev Zx+ which costed me 11.15 lacs. I have long been a part of a ev enthusiast group with a fair share of secondarily experiences.

13L bro. I got one including insurance and a few accessories for 13L. If you dont want accessories, it can go down below that too provided you chose your own insurance. I thought it is better value over other 2 cars. I have done 12,500Km. I am overall satisfied except a little slower fast charging speeds under hot weather. Yes, features are lacking but the basic ones like electric orvm will be available as an add on in the future. Infotainment is very good and the ride, suspension, range and overall spaciousness is best in segment.
I just picked the Comet for my wife, her regular office commute is about 50kms a day, so I thought this is the perfect car for single person commute in the city. I didn't go for the top end version, instead went for the Excite Fast Charging version. This car is our second car as the primary car is the ScorpioN, I feel as a second car this is a perfect car considering the Bangalore City traffic and Parking issues. Rohit next time when you are in Bangalore, I will take you on city drive on the Soap box 😁
If you are looking for a city commuter - Comet EV is the best option. Its only rarely you will drive with 4 people with luggage in the city. I would jut keep the back seats folded to get more boot space (That's what I to do with my Reva). I drive 50 % of the time alone, about 40 % of the time 2 people. The question to answer is - Is the compact-ness important for you?. If you want only 1 car - Tiago EV seems like a good option. If you have 2 cars - Comet is a great 2nd car, and you don't need a scooter for quick errands. I am looking to upgrade my Reva to a Comet - size matters!
eC3 value for money Why? 1) better range - 300KM without AC and 250KM with AC 2) better comfort 3) 100% DC Fast Charge compatible 4) spare wheel 5) wireless android auto and Apple car play Also note that, eC3 going to get Shine variant where you get rear wipers, electrical ORVM, defoggers, reverse camera, 4 airbags etc Now lets us talk about battery. Do the eC3 air cooled batteries are problem? It is like same belief that water (liquid) can put off fire , but Corbon Dioxide (air) will technically put off the fire. It goes the same with cooling technology and how it is efficiently used. Nope. Because eC3 uses battery from SVOLT and they use prismatic cells which are packed with more space also they have phase change material. And so their batteries are 275KG which is heavier than Nexon battery which is 260KG even it comes with liquid cooling. Now do TATA cars are reliable? Nope, I do see lots of people complaining about HV Critical alert and they are getting their batteries and motors replaced. 3 out of 10 users are facing the issues, now think about what people will do when they ran out of warranty once they done 1.6L Also when Citroen recommends doing 100% fast charging all the times, they are confident about their batteries as they last longer and more efficient. But TATA advice alternative slow charging because their batteries are not efficient. As soon Punch EV launch, Citroen will launch their new variant. If you need reliables EV that can last 3L KM+ or 10 Years then go with Citroen eC3 as Motor is from BYD who is largest EV seller in world. Battery is from SVOLT who knows a lot about battery.
