    LOL, BMW, oil everywhere. When I got my 07 X5 4.8i last year, it was like that too, used tons of brake cleaner to clean all of them now is pretty clean.

    I need your help. I took my 2002 bmw e46 3 series to the car wash and I decided to use jet wash to wash the alloy wheels. After I finished jet washing the wheels I decided to drive off and lool the steering became extremely stiff , it was so stiff that I have to struggle to turn into and side street. Prior to go to the car wash the steering was fine and not stiff. but immediately after the jet wash on the wheels the steering became stiff. Pleaase whats the reason for this and how can I get this be fix. Please send my regards to your Girl friend that helps you with these videos. your videos has been really helpful to me in Manchester

    Hello.can this problem make any false diagnosis on alignment machine?
    Because after my mechanic changed my steering rack and pinion protective plastic tubes on both sides, I went for an alignment and from now then I can't get my steering wheel straight. I drive 2-3 cm with the steering wheel to the left so I can get straight. After lots if search I noticed that my suspension shocks where bad,and I changed them. In meanwhile before I do that my mechanic "fix"my cars joy so as he said get my rack and pinion perfectly straight.after that nothing happened. I went again for an alignment at this point and again after changing my shocks (5 times total) and still my steering wheel remains slightly left..please help me.i really do not know what else to do.my.car is and LHD BMW M3 E46.

    I have an E60 550i with active steering and some significant play in the wheel. I’ve already replaced the tie rods. I had a loose ball joint in my left thrust arm (tension strut/front forward control arm) for a long time that I thought was a from a cheap tie rod before I realized the ball joint on the arm was bad. Anyway, it’s all fixed now but I have play in the steering still. I can wiggle it back and forth and hear it click/knock. It’s getting worse and worse. I was afraid I was going to have to replace the whole rack. I can’t afford a $2800 active steering rack. Do you think this will fix my issue?

    Hey buddy, I'm looking to get an e46 xi and I've seen the video of all the maintenance to do, I'm really not trusting my skill enough to do all those things myself, and I want this as my first car, what do you think

    • @cmkm54
      @cmkm54 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may not be the person you're looking for but I hope I can help. I daily drive a 1999 bmw 323i with 200,000k + miles with no problem. All of the maintenance has been done by me and i can say it is not bad just, as tempting as it may be, do not buy cheap parts if you ever have to fix it. Change you're oil regularly like I did you can get many many miles of joyfull driving like I have. Oh and try and get a m52tu engine not a m54 they are both amazing but the m54s have piston ring problems at high miles...... have fun on you're adventures!

    Mate.. I have a problem with my car. I have made small video so you can hear the problem. Anywhere I can send it to you? Cheers. It's BMW 318i 2003. Makes this noise in the steerin wheel every time it comes back to the right position. It's like the noise the blinkers make but this is not the blinkers. HELP

    Sad because I tried this the other weekend and had a half inch that couldn't get out of the shaft. Didn't know that pulling the steering wheel out more would give me more room. I still don't understand how that works but ugh, at least now I don't have to pull out my entire rack. Thanks for the save.

      Arthur Esclamada you have to drop the subframe, remove axle half shafts, and the front differential is usually in need of seals as well.

  • @ReignofStorms

    Hi Jason! I really appreciate your channel. Every E46 owner must follow it.
    I did this on my RWD E46 because I had slight steering wheel play and still having it after replacing the steering coupler. Should I replace also the lower joint assy (32301094700)??

    • @lindvi0r
      @lindvi0r 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vibration can be alignment, balance, bushings / brakes. Coupler will help with "play" in the steering wheel.
