AJ!!!!!!! My ears crave all of his work with Steve Khan and Al Di Meola on a constant, still to this day, and all of that came out when I was in high school. Anthony is a bassist unto himself.

Not rocket science. The two defining notes of F7b5 are F and B... the end. Obviously they also align with the substitute chords, because the reason they are sub chords in the first place, is because they play well with the original chord of F7b5...
That’s certainly possible. However, I’m not ruling out my analysis for a few reasons. 1 - That F7 isn’t always played with a b5 in the rest of the song. 2 - It resolves into a Cmin7 at a cadence point in the phrase so it feels to me like a parody chord of a G7 of some kind and the subs I mention in this video would then come into play. Cheers for the comment!
@@OnlineBassGuitar1 oh, I certainly wouldn't rule out your take, which is interesting and useful in any case. Thanks for your thoughtful reply, and rock on.

My favourite Electric Bass Guitarist, The G.O.A.T! Anthony Jackson.
Thanks for this. 👌🏿
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
"Anthony Jackson" ..No more needs to be said..One of the greatest to ever play electric bass...
Amen!
Anyone who can explain what you just did in the way you did is someone to listen to. This short video was very informative to me
That means a lot! Thank you!

I agree. I love Anthony Jackson but I don’t know why this example is special. He literally just played what the chart said to play.
His lines on Chaka tunes are RIDICULOUS
I've seen most of the greats...but he's on top of my list.
🙌
Anthony is a great player for sure. But perhaps he's just seeing F7b5, and thinking F with its b5 ... ?

Jackson is definitely keeping it simple...it sounds good to him..doesn't have time to analyze changes in the moment
Fun Fact : this fill is also the bassline to "Deep Cover" by Dr. Dre
Haha I did not! I’ll check it out!
Yes, Anthony Jackson is Brilliant!
He’s the king!
Interesting and informative. Cool stuff
F7b5... he could also have played a line off the F Lydian b7 mode.
Very true! That’s what I find so amazing about the few notes he did play. It opens up so many options but commits to none of them!
Love your five string..Is that a Sadowsky?
Anthony is a living legend!!
That keyboard player has fantastic taste in casual shirts
😂😂 that’s the subject of my next video
I wouldn't mind if I could hear you
Noted! Appreciate the feedback
Rocket Science.
This is a bad explanation bc the chords aren't played or visualized
Appreciate the feedback. Thank you!
Are you in prison 😂
😂😂 haha my playing isn’t that bad! Just backstage
Anthony is a beast!
