MY cousin and I bought BMW F650 GS's to do the Transamerica Trail. Unfortunately a small accident took me away from the ADV sport, but it did lead me to overlanding. I am hoping in a year or two my ankle will be strong enough to give it another go. What you just did looks like way too much fun for one person. Keep up the good videos.
Such an awesome lake spot. I had the pleasure of running into David while he was out there filming this video, Super cool and humble guy, keep the great content coming!
Thank you so much man. It was so awesome to meet you and your family out there. I hope you guys had a great evening and enjoyed that spot the weekend after with your crew!
Now I want one of those bikes. I love how quiet it is - dirt bikes look like fun, but they're so LOUD. We should take some up to the lake we camped at last summer. That area would be perfect for them.
Dude let’s do it! That spot is one of the first spots I thought of to take it. There’s a bunch of dirtbike trails that all lead there. Would be awesome to explore them. Next year? You, me and Shaun?
That lake spot is NOICE! That's one thing that bums me out about the PNW. So many amazing spots, but such a short time to access them. Can't wait to see more moto content. That thing looks like it rips!
It’s so true. The cascades are definitely a summer and fall spot. When winter comes all my adventures shift to the Olympics. And I’m stoked that you’re stoked about the moto stuff! I think it’s going to be a blast!
Next level Epic! Perfect, logical addition that will literally take both your exploring AND videos to the next level! BTW, what's the name of the lake?
Great video. I had the same idea a few months back after watching the Oblivion movie, he pulls out the bike and travels further. Having a good dual battery system and solar, don't have to ever worry about not enough charge in it.
Next time you’re up there, the overlook is a great spot to get to. Awesome view of the lake, and stunning views even on the way up. was up there a couple months ago.
Even before you brought it up I was like "oh, he replaced his Protrek with a new watch!" ha ha. I'm a watch guy so noticed it right away. The Vaer guys are great! I need a dual sport moto....
Haha I love that pro trek, but bro, this vaer is so freakin nice. I didn’t use most of the stuff that the pro trek had honestly. The vaer is everything you need in a beautiful and quality package. Funny you mention that. RFN has a bike kinda like that although I don’t think it’s street legal. But pretty close lol
@@OFFTHEGRIND i’ve had one of those protrek for many years and really, really like it. But yeah, there’s something pretty special about a watch that has everything you need and nothing you don’t
Another superb video good sir. But that watch though 🤤 I’ve always had an affinity for field watches. Simple and clean. Time, date and that’s it. And of course the lume. It HAS to have excellent lume. And a bonus is solar. Quite literally the perfect watch IMHO.
What an awesome spot! How has the IceCo aluminum freezer been keeping up with the hotter temps? Has there been any additional battery draw? What battery are you running these days?
I can drive manual but somehow I’ve never been motor bike inclined, whether it’s a motorcycle or a dirt bike. I could take the time to learn, but to avoid time for a learning curve, I have driven ATVs before. Could this strategy work with a small ATV too you think? Side note: your channel is criminally underrated and undersubscribed to. Your content is phenomenal!
I think so. Might just be a little more limiting cause you’d have to trailer it out. But I guess that depends on your environment and where you like to explore. And thank you so much! I’m getting there. Hopefully it’ll just keep growing
Ok, so there is this weird unspoken rule that YT Overlanders dont want to tell the viewers exactly where they are unless, of course, you're a Patreon member. It's electric?! That's pretty cool. I might have to look into that. My problem with RTTs is that I have 2 dogs and also have to get up and pee a lot at night.
David, did you ever figure the glitches you were having with the Bronco when you towed the tallboy? I know the brakes and pin Mammoth are checking out, but any of the Bronco checks pop back up?
So the brakes was just because the brake controller itself failed. The wiring on the bronco and the tallboy were good. I replaced the controller module and had brakes again. The error codes never came back. I think it’s because the air filter backs out of the box that it sits in (moshimoto CAI) and lets a ton of hot engine air in. I sealed it as best I could but also order a K&N cold air intake cause it’s was better and sealed well
I think so but I’m not sure. Really depends on the tent. I would also go with a rack like TrailRax with the pak rax because that transfers the weight to the tub of the vehicle which actually increases your weight capacity
1. I'm 52 with a dog. Neither one of us should be going down an icy ladder at 2am. 2. Coffee in bed? Good luck climbing back up that wet ladder half-awake at 5am. 3. No additional vehicle height while traveling. I know it's just a few inches, but just like some women, I've been screwed by just a few inches. It's a thing, and it sucks. 10. Downside: you'll have to annoy people by telling them how cool you are, because they can't just look at the rooftop tent and know that you've checked all the "overlanding" "must-haves". Come on people, the homeless do what we do. My great-grandfather crossed the desert states on a horse 150 years ago with just a bedroll and a canteen. Too bad he didn't have a GoPro.
