Gotta say man… I’m a huge Jeep guy and follow the big Jeep TH-camrs (story til now, epic family road trip, etc)… but the thing that’s got me stuck on your channel is the amazing cinematography and most of all, your music selection during your drone shots. You do a really good job of picking out music that compliments the video! Keep it up.
My wife and I were in the area April 25 - 28. Not sure when you were there but I’m guessing same weekend. I believe you were in 3 Fingers ahead of us because I rebuilt the fire pit the night we were there and it looks like it’s still like it was when we rolled up on it. We stayed the next night at Birch Creek, and the Warmsprings at 3 Forks the last night. We only live a couple hours away from the Owyhee’s but have never made it out there until now. We wanted to hit the high points on this trip. Future trips will be extensive exploration. It will be fun to explore the Succor Creek area more, and find that assume 2nd night campsite. Safe travels and keep the videos coming. For those that have not been to this area, you better make it happen. There is a very high probability that this area will be designated a National Monument by the end of this year. After that the management plan can and more than likely will close off all of the back country routes.
I got behind on my TH-cam watching. Watched this a day after you posted it. I gotta say I think this is your best work. Loved all the different shots on the drive to the off-road. Music and the story along the trail were all so good. 15:32 should be a bronco commercial, such an epic shot. The TH-cam live during this was a good time too. I only wish this video was longer.
Thanks Ed! What’s funny is I didn’t like this one but so many people have said it’s my best lol. We’re our own worst critics I suppose. I’m glad you caught the live though! It was fun
It's always interesting to see my back yard from the perspective of others. I live less that an hour from where your first camp was and am very familiar with most of the areas you were going through out there. You did a great job of documenting the Owyhees at their best: in the Springtime when everything is still fresh and green. Thanks for taking us along on your travels!
Absolutely insane drone shots dude. Amazing! Here I was thinking your last Owyhee trip made that area look as good as it could ... but nah, the scenery in this video somehow topped last years. Christine and I NEED to get out there and explore.
Love your channel - side note - I like the life cycle of an ol' fashion with the bourbon at room temperature. The beginning of the drink is different from the middle and the end. Cheers to you.
I can appreciate that. But I much prefer a more consistent sip. When it start diluting I find myself pouring a little more bourbon in cause I like the bite and that’ll get you in trouble lol
Love me an old fashion my self. Love your videos man. Offroad exploration is also my get away. Just makes all the pain and the worries disappear. Even if just for the day. Thanks for making the videos you do. I’m trying to get to your level but just started. Keep The killer videos coming.
This is so inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing this. I appreciate all of the camera angles and I am super mesmerized by the drone footage. Stoked to explore that area one day.
Mmmm, nothing better than a nice cold drink after a long drive sitting in the middle of nowhere with a view so beautiful no words could ever describe. Creating my itinerary for my little family overland trip this year, this just excites me so much more. Definitely considering checking out the Owyhee Canyonlands.
Wow what a beautiful trip! Amazing vid as always man. Overlanding is where the lost become found. Love seeing your channel progress over the last 3 or so years. Still miss the Taco tho…. 😉 But love the bronco build
I was lost and found myself in overlanding so I completely agree and can attest to that! But thank you! I miss the taco sometimes too, but man I love this bronco! Thanks!
Your cinematography has gotten so good. Great work. I’ve been to most of the spots you hit on in this video except for the second spot you stopped at. Will be going to the Owyhee’s this summer for the second time.
That last lake was MUCH bigger then I thought. I thought it was just a little pond or something, till you got the drone up. That would be awesome to explore more... Or not ... Just sit and enjoy! Float around for a day.... Nice camera work as usual.
Yeah that is Owyhee Lake. It is a massive lake. I honestly haven't explored the lake itself that much but it was a great spot for camp for the night. Thanks!
Great video. I have been watching everyone head to the Owyhee's for a few years now. We have our first trip planned for there in July. This will be our first big overland trip! Can't wait to see it in person.
Great video! It is very important that we all wheel responsibly and leave no trace. Large sections of the Owyhee BLM lands are currently under federal consideration for National Monument designation, and simultaneously as Wilderness Area. Of those, NM is the better option because it still allows some wheeling (but it also could lead to extensive road closures so we need to be involved as a wheeling community). WA designation would close all roads to overlanding (within the WA). Areas under consideration way will include quite a large number of the most attractive terrain and ecology in the region. WA designation is unlikely to pass Congress, but NM can be signed solely by the POTUS and evidently has the support of multiple regional stakeholders (tribes, congressmen, ranchers, desert conservationists). It is important overlanders have a seat at the table. And that our voice isn’t diluted by the actions of idiots that go off trail and tear up the sage brush or destroy historic structures when we get stuck or harass wildlife or leave trash behind.
I know it's an old video been binging as im laid up with an injury lol but any reason you went for a square ice mold opposed to round to melt slower or even some whiskey cubes?
Great upload and thank you for sharing your adventure!!! Love the setup on the Bronco. I hope you share with us if you have any issues with it. Sure does seem to wheel well for you.
Good job, very nice video, as always! Have you tried Woodinville Whiskey? I took a tour there and was able to bottle my own straight from the cask. (I also bought my Bronco from Kirkland, a couple months ago.)
Great video, music is used sparingly, talk is to the point, great photography. You're getting good at this, keep up the great work! RE: locked gate. My understanding was that the public land cannot be locked unless it is permit only and none of Owyhee is--correct me if I have heard wrong. I have run into locked gates in Owyhee but they were always marked as private land on the gaigps "Public Land" layer. Did OnX not catch that?
Thanks so much! This was a fun trip! So the locked gate was not BLM land. It was succor creek state natural area. But I have the same understanding of gates on BLM as you
The editing is getting much more fluid! Questino - did you learn to do it all by yourself? do you have any recommendations for tools for a beginner starting out to really learn as you begin making videos? Thanks!😃
Larceny is real good. I just use bulleit because it has a nice barrel spice that holds up well to added sweetness. I like to still have that punch from the bourbon. Something like woodford or eagle rare are too smooth and sweet and just get lost in the drink. At least to me
Now that you're runing bigger tyres winch on the front. You can drive Rubicon trail. It would be good for you as well as the channel. Aussies on 35s in their old Toyotas done it, so it won't be hard for you to do with a couple of friends or solo, there'll be manay 4x4 anyway. Im sharing my humble opinion.
Definitely something I’m looking at doing next year. I don’t have a lot of faith in my steering rack to tackle something like that quite yet, but definitely on my list of things to do
Dude, your quality is getting better and better. wow. that scenery looks like golden gate in south africa. amazing. mostly don't over cook your wors man, ease it down a little and don't cood it to quick. you're camping - not a McDonalds (sorry not sorry McDonalds)
Butterfly those brats next time. You will thank me later! Its the only way to cook those bad boys on a skillet or on a griddle top! Another great video. I just got the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's in September, however, you have me taking a look at those Nittos.
How do you like those on your bronco? I have them on my gmc at4 and loved them, but I currently have the nittos on my bronco. Was wondering if I should go back to the falkens after I burn through these nittos. I really liked the low road noise and snow performance of the falkens
I'm confused, what did that closed gate sign say? If there was no padlock and not official agency signage then most probably thats a rancher trying to keep his cattle on leased gubmint land and you can open, pass and then close the gate. What I saw was "keep the gate closed". And I'll be touring the area in a few weeks, partly due to your videos, keep up the good work.
There was actually a pad lock on it, and it’s an area owned by the state. It said there is cattle in the area so I’m assuming they just want to keep them all in there. There’s also some bulls in the owyhees, but they are kept behind closed gates cause they are aggressive
@@OFFTHEGRIND I think the BLM would take offense at a private land owner or leasee padlocking a public road, as we all know the gubment is really efficient in closure signs. And there's a notable trend for leasee's to do this due to the increase in back country travel,.
Sorry for butting on your question about Broncos. I have had my 22 Bronco Sasquatch for 2 years now. I can't tell enough how much I love this thing. Not one issue. I can do any trail my Jeep buddies do and in a much more comfortable ride. I'm in the San Diego area, so I'm in a lot of desert and rocks. It is a beast. I highly recommend.
@@larrybriggs2920 Thanks for the input! I live in Omaha, NE (where the 1.5 mile tornado came thru) and the places I would be taking my next off road vehicle is like Colorado, Moab, Ozarks, and anywhere else to have fun in 😁 My company HQ I work for is in the SD area as well

You're getting so good at this dude. Great video.
Thanks my man! I watched my first video recently and I have come a long ways lol
When you were at Three Fingers Gulch there is a rock corral in the gulch to the North. Also a rock corral on top of Steamboat Ridge.
Love that you caught the Owyhees when it’s green out there…it’s fleeting, but beautiful.
I’ve been lucky enough that both times I’ve been it’s been green! It’s so beautiful out there man

Great videography and storytelling in this video. Awesome!
I camped that same spot last year, your first spot. Definitely one of the best camps I’ve had. Didn’t wanna leave. 10:08

What a beautiful area. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for bringing us along!
I just came back from succor creek. Very beautiful. Thanks to your video I camped there.
Gracias amigo.
Happy to hear you’re able to TH-cam/overland full time now. Good for you! Well deserved!!
Three Finger Gulch, awesome. Take the camp spot! There is a trail there that goes to Owyhee Lake.
I will definitely stay there in the future. Such a cool spot and I wanted to do that hike too actually
Thanks for another great video and especially love the Bronco Content!
Your ice cubes are loggoed?? Love it!!
Is that the iceco chair!!
Haha thanks! My wife got them for me!
Yes it is. And it’s so freakin comfy!
Another great video, and I deeply admire the Bronco. I am here in NorCal and I am looking for a few places that offer that level of serenity.
This is so inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing this. I appreciate all of the camera angles and I am super mesmerized by the drone footage. Stoked to explore that area one day.
I feel this is one of the best videos yet. Absolutely amazing! Thanks for taking us along.

I’ve been to most of the spots you hit on in this video except for the second spot you stopped at. Will be going to the Owyhee’s this summer for the second time.
Thanks! That second spot was pure luck honestly. But I think it’s hard to find a bad spot in the owyhees
That last lake was MUCH bigger then I thought. I thought it was just a little pond or something, till you got the drone up. That would be awesome to explore more... Or not ... Just sit and enjoy! Float around for a day.... Nice camera work as usual.

The Owyhee Canyonlands is #1 on my trip list this year! Thanks so much for the reinforcement.

Oh man you will love it! Might not be as green at that time of year, but still a stunning location
Great filming! Your shots are very creative. And great story-telling with words and pictures.
Thank you so much!
Following your instincts on that one paid off. The views heading to the camp site were epic! Thanks for sharing
It was pretty awesome! Glad I went that way
Awesome video David! Heading that way on Saturday for a week, so stoked.
Great episode! Thank you for sharing! Looks like you hit that area at the greenest time of the year.

This place is now on my bucket list, thanks.
"I'm missing something though... found it.. now we can cook"
This made me laugh. Too funny.
Great upload and thank you for sharing your adventure!!! Love the setup on the Bronco. I hope you share with us if you have any issues with it. Sure does seem to wheel well for you.
I love this setup. Only issue I have is ground clearance because the stock springs are so soft. But that’ll change soon
Another banger! This area is on my bucket list now.
Good job, very nice video, as always!
Have you tried Woodinville Whiskey? I took a tour there and was able to bottle my own straight from the cask.
(I also bought my Bronco from Kirkland, a couple months ago.)
Great Video! The only thing missing from your set-up is a fly rod!
Oh man I agree. That was something that I wanted to add this summer but the summer is getting away from me
Great video, music is used sparingly, talk is to the point, great photography. You're getting good at this, keep up the great work!

Never thought to freeze my whiskey. I will have to try that. Do you use any other brand than Bulleit? I have favs with Larceny and Elijah Craig.

Man your drone skills are improving so much! You’re starting to rival Revere Overland with your footage. Inspiring to push me to get better at flying.
Just curious what gas do you use?? 87 or premium
Man, so well done. Good adventure.
Pretty magical area!
Agreed!
Fantastic video broski....I'm so jealous... I got to get out west!
Thanks man! Yeah you definitely do!
What cargo basket/separator is that?
I second that. He said it’s a prototype from trailrax in another video I believe.
I thought I noticed the TrailRax logo on it. Nice, I’ll keep an eye out for it!

what is that chair???
That first camp site was sick!
Love your videos more than any other
Was this a recent trip?
My favorite video so far ❤
Wow, thanks!
Is thst a flexible regulator on your propane bottle?
Yes it is. It came with the kovea
Is that a trailrax cargo shelf I see 👀
Maybe 🤫 it’s in beta right now
David, where can I score your OTG hat?
I’m working on getting them restocked actually. So soon on my website! Getoffthegrind.com
That ten second shot 11:00 tho… 👏

Unofficially I’m sure haha. Thanks man!
