They've gotten a little better at it following a massive amount of backlash from the most recent update, but it's still miles behind the communication from other companies. A lot of people may excuse them due to their small team sizes and work environment, but they still have a responsibility to maintain their games. Valve is not a small Indie dev - they're one of the largest and most profitable icons of the gaming industry. They need to fix their games, or if team sizes are an issue, source outside development. Beast Gaming some guy on the dota 2 reddit said that they only got away with it because "they were the first" and "anyone after that will be banned permanently" but its a completely different game so I don't know why the fuck someone on CSGO would get a message from Dota 2. Nobody should get perma banned for a first time doing this though.

You can't compare the popularity of Dota to CSGO. That's like comparing the popularity of football to water ball. Not to mention that the competitive ceiling for DotA is incomparable to CSGO. Sure, CSGO isn't easy but the number of variables are much more limited and your aim and teamwork and strategy can only get so good. DotA is much more expansive and harder to predict. No wonder it's such a popular game to watch.

wow thats bad timing, cs2 is coming out my man! (fyi, source 2 engine means they can work wayyyyyy faster on the game, csgo was a spaghetti code mess which meant that they didnt really wanna do many updates, source 2 is gonna ((hopefully)) make itw ayyy better)

Been playing tf2 since 2008 and I can say for sure we have actual problems that are genuinely full on game breaking and not just crappy gun sounds
TheLocalPub That's not the reason why i'm complaining about the current updates. They are adding useless updates such as gun sounds and new skins but they do NOT fix the hit registry system (or however you want to call it) and there are still many hackers around.

Instead of nerfing the OP guns to make them balanced with the crap guns, they should buff the crap guns to make them balanced with the OP guns... Right?
They keep fiddling with things that are fine and should be left alone. Often when they nerf something, its overnerfed and becomes unusable such as the R8. A PTR is needed to test new things and changes prior to their launch but volvo will never do that

I wish they would change the hit boxes so that awp body shots only kill if its the chest not the stomach. Getting insta killed is pretty annoying. they should also do this with the dak so then its like 3 stomach shots for a kill 2 chest or 1 head. Lowering fire rate and cost would be nice as well.

@@aal834 tf2 has been on hold for several years, the community is sort of self sustaining because they are so accustom to nothing changing, so the game they always liked stays as the game they still like, but probably not as much as if it were updated.

This is really out of context. That Incident was is 2013 and there weren´t any Incidents before that, where Valve banned players. This year in March 3 DotA players also got Lifetime bans for matchfixing, as it should be.
Solo and Rox Kis were the first case of matchfixing so Valve was a bit lenient. Every case after that one (Arrow Gaming, Elite Wolves, etc.) has given out a permanent ban.

And ibp was the first incident in csgo with no precedent and no rules, the foundation of the punishment is everyone knows matchfixing is bad so you will get punished. If anything this is in favor of a common argument for unbanning the ibp players, and from that point on having lifetime bans, set the precedent first.
Valve already set their precedent in Dota 2 though, matchfixing is matchfixing regardless of which game it takes place in

Its kind of crazy coming back to this video in 2023, with the player numbers reaching all time highs and CS2 being announced. When this came out in 2016 it really felt like CS was in decline. Summit1g's prediction (3:46) didnt age that well, did it?
summit1g was just mad that he ain't good enough, cs has always been a great game, people are mad at valve because except for a few fuck ups, the fact that valve takes risks rather than only focusing on money, and takes time on their games shows that they care. People hate the fact that they're wrong with the fact that valve is most of the time, right.

That's mainly because cs:go makes valve shit loads of money from people buying dumb weapon skins.

@@omgmico I'm talking about how the hitreg will constantly miss a shot on players when you are directly aiming at them. Not all the time but is an annoying problem. But other Valve games also have this problem but over Time it's gotten better. Cheaters/hackers is mainly just an annoyance that valve doesn't do alot to stop. I'm not saying valve doesn't ban hackers but when people report them valve wont respond. Just dead silence alot of the time. Take this with a grain of salt. Or don't it's your opinion you may disagree with what I'm saying.

Improving? IMPROVING? Are you kidding me? What improvements are there? Hit boxes are still wonky as fuck, especially when people crouch spam. Five seven is garbage, CZ is at least where it used to be. SMGS are still a run and gun weapon, AK and M4 are higher accuracy whilst running than ever before, making it possible to spray and run at the same time (Which is fucking ridiculous). Competitive has gotten worse with the amount of "smurfs" (Mostly hackers, some legit smurfs) and hackers. Prime is complete garbage. They haven't done a single thing about their anti-cheat, no fucking proper update. And worst of all, there have been no updates in which it was asked for. They still can't even do that right. So no, they haven't been improving. In fact, they've been getting worse. I mean, 11M unique log ins? Don't make me laugh, I bet 3m are from people logging into a spare account.
