As a sliver 1 player, I relate too much to this video, once you stop having fun you end up messing about in comp and meeting the most random people ever. Having people 5 stacks in sliver with their MG friend smurfing is what annoys me the most me but once be-friending them leaves you with a fun game after everything.

I play csgo casual matches. That way I can't lose ranks from losing a match, and I try to end on a high note anytime before I get off. That keeps the game fun for me.
This video reassures me that avoiding competitive gamemodes like the plague is the right choice; at least for me personally.
but if you play ranked as casual and not care about the rank, it's way more fun

I'm pretty sure the last stage of playing CSGO is being nostalgic for it, join a match and then half way through that match of getting stomped up it's Juan Drag time baby.
I tried getting into CSGO multiple times, but the lack of basic fps features, the incredibly sweaty enemy’s, the low time to kill, the recoil that is impossible to learn and much more. I played 23 matches today and got 5 kills. It’s especially infuriating because I am pretty good at MW2.

That's why i never liked CS games, you aim exactly where the enemy is, and he kill you even if you shoot first!
Some people called Skill issue, haha, no... the game have a weird aim system which i don't like.

But i think i would say something that would offend him in spanish, as saying things in your native language is more offensive than something in another language (i am an example of that, barely any curse words in english offend me, because i'm brazilian)

I feel games like CS and LOL are the third type, as the gameplay is stressful and the reward isn’t worth it.
But then again it’s more the people and my skill level that makes it not fun, because overall the games do work as intended and in a way that makes sense, but even the spite of those yelling at me to “get good” isn’t enough motivation for real progression.

6:34 - League player here and you're 100% right. Almost everything you said in this video is so relatable, even though the genres are completely different. It's the textbook definition of a love-hate relationship.
This is the exact same cycle I went through with Rainbow Six Siege. I finally stopped playing practically full stop at the beginning of 2019. Though I fully stopped revisiting it somewhere in 2020. Four years of utter pain was enough. Though I say that, I did have a lot of fun with the game. There are a few clutches I pulled off I will never forget, especially my first 1v5 which happened at like 2:30 in the morning.
What I hate about this is that when you say something like “The controls is bad” or “This game is unfair” some A-hole is going to tell you “Sounds like a you problem” “You’re just not good enough”

I have been stuck at Silver 2 for years now. Almost 200 comp wins and still silver 2.
the doo doo rank system and random toxic greifers being more and more frequent are the things I hate most.
But I still love it. And still play it. It is a great experience at the end of the day
LMAO 02:08 some days ago I (brazilian) decided to give solo queuing a go and procceeded to join a game with a guy from the USA and 3 other latinos from spanish speaking countries.
Neither did the USA guy knew how to speak Portuguese or Spanish nor the other 3 guys knew how to speak English or Portuguese - which means I was the only one who understood the 3 languages. USA guy just said "let's roam the map and try to get kills" and the manitos did not have a clue of what they were doing.

From moments in which i felt like Coldzera,ranking up in a match where i aced 4 times(yes that actually happened, i cant belive it either) to moments in which i just wanted to just completely destroy my PC because i got completely trashed on by a kid which has nothing else better to do than to play with wh

This is one of the reasons i like csgo so much and also one of the reasons why i hate it so much, the game is one of these games that are easy to learn but extremely hard to master.I tried to master it for so long and i still cant do it

I could not have said it better, although I actually do play it to some extent consistantly, mainly at night with friends for like 2-3 games. But that last line about valorant, damn you woke up and decided to speak facts.
I remember playing this so much with a few friends almost a year ago, sadly those people weren't that good, still haven't touched the game, might try to play it again.

I'm graduating from high school this year and the student council thing or whatever (they're pretty useless the only thing theyve managed to pull off was managing a funding to get microwaves for the school) has finally managed to put the in-house eSports competition together that they've been trying to for like 3 years now and me and a couple friends got completely infuriated that these 15yo clowns chose to have a valorant competition but no csgo, so guess the only way I can rek them is on chess

Personally I don't like CSGO for different reasons. For me within each mach it's a cycle of 1)sneak around the map
2) either I get sniped out of nowhere or I notice the enemy first, panic and miss. Either way I result in dying. No matter how I play if I wanna to do quick match (not competetive) it's really really sweaty imo. I much prefer games that require less skill because I'm a bad baby gamer.
I really enjoy video games of all types but if I have to rely on my godawful reflexes I just can't find them fun. Especially when everyone is super competetive. A lot of the fun comes from the Pavlovian response to getting kills (if not winning).
And just because I don't like feeling bad at games doesn't mean I don't like challenge, I love difficult single player games where the whole point is about improving and mastering the game. However I can't get the sense of improvement when skill based matchmaking is always putting me slightly below everyone else in the match.
I like to feel rewarded by video games and for me many competitive games can't let me do that because I'm always behind the curve.
Sounds like me with league of legends. I think every competitive game is an experience of some sort.
So glad I went there on the spot. Front row too. One of the greatest memories ever.
My cycle:
Step 1: not playing cs go
Step 2: wanting to play with friends
Step 3: remembering its cs go
Step 4: not playing cs go
i like rainbow six siege because of the single bullet head shot kill mechanic, which allows 1v5 clutches without teamates doing any damage if you are skilled or lucky enough
I agree with this and the rank up system i stopped playing cs go when i got silver 2
After 125 wins when 75% of these matches i was first or second in the leaderboard so i felt like i was smurfing even though i just couldnt rank up
I can relate. I'm playing like twice a week and I haven't touched ranked in ages, bc after a 3 weeks break in my exam period, I somehow ranked in Supreme despite being DMG before that. Now I'm at an elo where people expect me to know lineups and I just can't. RIP
There's no teamwork despite being a "tactical" team shooter. the community is extremely hostile towards new players, voice chat is stupid not having an open mic optioning, graphically it looks like a PS1 game, hit damage is extremely inconsistent and matches are extremely drawn out. The only reason this game is still around and played is because its free, that's it.
Man I'm glad I've never felt the desire to go back to CSGO since they reworked the ranks and dropped me by 6 ranks in a single match, thank you GabeN
Cs for me has always been about the people, its made me meet some of my best friends and helpt me connect with many amazing people unlike any other game out there. I barely play it now days and I really don’t know what could get me properly back into it anymore. I feel like they have made plenty of improvements over the years(new hitboxes, better visability, shortmatches, trustfactor etc) until they make match making more meaningful like a top 500 or something including harder ranks it just feels pointless, also it takes way to long to rank up compared to other games. The marchmaking system and elo system is the only advantage valorant has on cs and if they could just fix that it would easily be the best.
The CSGO community is the only fps community worse than cod, biggest group of pure no lifers I've ever seen.

To fix games where pro players know every minute detail about the maps.. have randomised maps? I wanna see a game do randomised maps to see if they can look just as good as a prebuilt map?
Why would you need to "fix" the fact that pro players know the maps?
Check out a game called Due Process, new maps come into that game every month or so and they are procedurally generated.
@@KobraKlips Means you have to adapt and it adds more replay ability to a game.. It gives everyone a chance and an easy way for new players to actually get a few kills rather than ragequiting.. I'm pritty goid at hardcore shooters but even I know the frustration of getting a map you hate or not getting you favourite camping spot or advantage spoy for a few cheap and easy kills.. Having randomised maps means none of that could happen..

I also tried it on my friends computer, which ran perfectly, but I just sucked lol. One day, I'll try it, one day I'll get better at computer lol

try cs 1.6 or cs source. both still good. 1.6 is more archaic and hides a lot of its mechanics behind an imprecise looking crosshair and chunky movement but its just as deep and satisfying as csgo once you start to speak its language. and you can run it on a potato. hard to find a "competitive" match though, theres no matchmaking.

I think that cycle can be applied to every competitive multiplayer game. It has been for me at least.
I believe people go back to these games because of the satisfaction. Defeating a human player with a similar skill to you is a lot more satisfying than defeating an AI in some singleplayer game

I stopped playing cs:go after i top fragged 20 or so comp matches in a row with half of those having 3 or less deaths but i was still silver 1. No matter how well or bad i did i could not leave silver 1 and when i finally got to silver 2, the first match i played i won but did not top frag and was placed back in silver 1

I had managed to become a Legendary Eagle in 2020 by playing almost only Agency.... I love this map... and when I reached the goal, I uninstalled the game and that's it.

I escaped this cycle within 3 attempts of trying to come back to the game. But I have played it almost my entire life, so I am not very surprised to be incapable of returning. However, I am proud of myself for doing so, because I fell in love with other franchises such as Dark Souls, Risk of Rain, Guilty Gear and so on.
Youre praising this game in such a way that it made me feel like its a damn delicious cake.
csgo is that game where i fucking suck, my teammates fucking suck, and my enemies are always a bunch of people with the same skill as shroud
I feel like I have a lot of critical misses, things that would have hit in a higher tick or whatever server, and also I just suck, that too.
best gamemode in cs is and will always be deathmatch or even casual (if you want that bomb experience) i had actual FUN playing those modes it was just everyone having fun

Honestly, I felt that way until I went back to CS:S, I found bhopping around on deathmatch servers was a lot more fun than ranking in CS:GO just because everyone on CS:S is playing for fun more than playing to rank.
That and I still have yet to find a more satisfying movement system than CS:S's bunny hopping.
Hah... no matter how much I want to have fun with friends in Valorant, I'm constantly getting reminded of the countless bullshit I encounter within the match, that I want to play csgo instead and have fun...
For me its the other way around. I just generally find Valo more enjoyable, especially with friends. Maybe also cuz of the playerbase, Ive encoutered countless wholesome people in Valo and close to none in cs.

@@niedoanimowanyrosomak9990 Exactly the opposite, been playing alot of faceit lvl 10 pugs and valorant lately, and I had the opposite experience, in CS:GO , people that I match up with are usually wholesome people who genuinely are good at the game but also want to have a good time, If I do a bad play or my aim is just off that day, no one blames me or starts flaming since they know that they themselves had those days, but in valorant, If I do a simple mistake (whiff a shot per ex) they instantly start flaming and if we loose lets say, 6 rounds in a row, that's it, they just loose all motivation to play the game and start throwing and not trying, while flaming and not trying to have fun, all though I agree that valorant is somewhat fun (and dare I say more fun than csgo) if you match in a match without these issues once in a while
I downloaded the game and tried playing it, I never won a match still after 3 months. I ended up a 1 vs 1 in the mode where you drop on the sland with players and I got aimbotted and wallhaked. Made me feel so mad and sad that I didn't touch my pc for 2 weeks. I hate it now with all the hackers and cheeters for a new player like me, I can't play other games because of performance issues..
Valorant you can play it looks good on lowest settings and no hackers

I have a similar experience playing Ark Survival Evolved. Me and my friends will get back into the game, go on raids and fuck with people but inevitably you WILL be raided and lose everything. Then we don’t play for 3-4 months only to repeat the cycle.
Honestly I would be 40% better at csgo if it just looked better, I’m really surprised no one talks about it especially nowadays, maybe the graphics were impressive at the time but nowadays it’s not about good graphics, it’s about being able to see what’s happening on my screen and csgo is just not designed with that in mind which is crazy bc tf2 did have visual clarity in mind but when it came to csgo they were just like “who cares if the enemies blend into the background half the time”

@@Joaquin__ i see where the overwatch comparisons come from, but they are not entirely correct. Also, maps arent designed badly, its just a 180 degree from csgo maps. They are designed for u to have to clear multiple angles to force a decision- either use up ur utility and have it easier or go in blind and save said utility but flip a coin to where the enemy might be.

@@niedoanimowanyrosomak9990 that would work if it wasn’t for the fact you can’t crouch strafe at all, so you burn all your utility as attacker to have a chance against the defenders, who don’t have to use theirs just to get into the fight, and can use theirs at a more opportune time, leading to an awful imbalance
I would love this game but my pc has this problem with csgo that lags the game from 10 miliseconds - 3 seconds every second. Ive looked up fixes and there are none except get a better pc, not that my pc cant run csgo, it can run doom eternal on max graphics at 120 fps. But valorant runs fine.

I think the absolute worst feature in CSGO is tagging (slowing down when hit by a bullet).
I just took damage, so you're going to reduce my MOBILITY too!? It just makes it easier to die! No fun whatsoever getting stuck, literally unable to move faster than a snail because someone's shooting at you and you 100% will die unless they start missing and you're suddenly able to walk again.

I will always say: CSGO was great in the early days because people had to be creative or learn.
Today? Too many smurfs, pros and people that study pro meta. It's just not fun anymore when you get your head blown apart in literal milliseconds as your brain registers that somebody is in your line of sight, IF they are in your line of sight.
I missed when the game was more about tactics across all equipment rather than if you don't use the 1 shot kill guns or ARs you might as well be praying to RNJesus that the bullets line up.
I took csgo competetivly as a f2p, when they put ranks after a paywall i just dropped the game cuz the price its very high where i live
