    The complaint is mostly just that healers feel like they aren’t needed. I’ve been playing WHM a lot lately and if I’m running a dungeon the tank can basically pull wall to wall and can survive off basically one regen and a couple ogcd’s. As for the solution rebalance the jobs. Buff healers dps and either decrease tanks healing or buff mob damage.

      ​@@wolve9012 as far as i know cause they barely need to heal in casual content and a dawntrail dungeon was cleared without healer which honestly is dumb to be mad at cause it was done with warrior which is nothing new that warrior can do it but yeah as far as i know thats the reason for the strike

      Because they think Xeno, on a WARRIOR, being able to clear Dawntrail's casual content without any healer, suddenly means healer isn't needed in ANY content, even though:
      - The actual party composition had 4 SKILLED PLAYERS and 2 PSUEDO-HEALERS in Warrior and Red Mage.
      - None of the strikers have cleared any savages, let alone ultimates
      - Even in casual content, duty finder regularly has either new players learning mechanics or players so terrible that they need to be babysat by healers, and they would know this if they actually played healer enough
      Basically, they're angry because they don't understand how classes outside of the one they play work.
      For that matter, they don't even understand how the class THEY play works.
      If you look at the organizer's logs, you'll see that they are complete ass on EVERY job, not just healer, and yet they think they believe they have the credentials and know-how to demand drastic changes for healers. And this pattern is consistent among all of the individuals participating in the strike. There's a reason why healer mains who do high-end content like Rinon aren't bothering to even mention this strike, because they actually understand how to play the classes and thus understand that healers are just fine the way they are.

    Why is having some extra dps buttons on healer a bad suggestion? I’m a casual that hasn’t had the opportunity to play high level fights with healer yet. I’d think it’d be great for each healer to have a mini-dps rotation.
    SCH had one in 4.05. WHM once had it HW. So what’s wrong with having a small / mini dps rotation for healers. It would add some much needed complexity on the job and make doing solo content much more fun.
    Really, such a bad take on that point on the Healer strike.

      @@ForReal.33 Ah cmon free, you know that is not what you do as an astro at all. Weaving/drawing/redrawring cards alone is much more then the other 3 healers. Trying to get the most out of the buff. Astro I would say is what the other healers should be strived to be (busy) wise. Astro is literally what I wish the other healers to reach one day. They at least have an opener thats more then 10 of the same attacks in a row with a dot. No buffing others no knowing prios for who to card first none of that fun. just blast dosis 10x dot and uh throw phlegma two times during a damage window lol. I think nerfing/removing some of the other classes mits would be nice considering I dont believe content like TOP should be done with 0 healers as the most recent ultimate. Either that or you can let them keep the mits and at least pump the damage to the point where they cant do it without a healer. Because lets face it, you take out those tanks or dps they would never have cleared. Healers are the only ones you could do it without. While I don't think the strike will do shit, I have myself been unhappy with healers direction for awhile. Learning tank/painter anyway, peace!

    Many healer players do not find the constant 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 spam every fight to be fun or engaging, especially people that have been playing for several years at this point. I don't know why you're antagonizing them for this very reasonable frustration. Some of the suggested changes and ideas by players may not be perfect, but they're giving their best attempt at pointing out an obvious problem with gameplay that has been ignored by the devs for years.

      the problem is that the strike isnt solving anything, its fine to actually give feedback, but saying "dont heal anymore" wont solve anything, strike with wallets is way better...

      @@willysdutra7329 when people feel like the proper avenues of communication are not effective, they do rash things. I agree that a healer strike is probably not happening, but the post did what it NEEDED to do: start a large, visible conversation that the devs might see.

      I agree with Fr33 when he said we get to watch the rest of the fight as a healer pressing 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1... I like to think of myself as Shiroe from log horizon, standing back, making calls and keeping everyone alive.

      @@masteriveyletsplay2339 That's great that it's fun for you-and if more damage buttons or complexity were added to healers, you would still be able to do that. I don't think asking for a few more regularly pressed DoT spells or something is unreasonable. If the current way that healers function works for you, you could choose not to add those buttons to your bar, or only use them to the extent that you see fit. But given the traction of this whole situation, and the pretty consistent complaints from healers going back to Stormblood, it seems that a sizable number of players do NOT enjoy that playstyle and would like a change.

      @@michaelhenry4845 just learn to play optimized astrologian ffs. They have 9 DPS buttons (1, 2, Earthly Star, Draw, Redraw, Play, Divination, Astrodyne, Minor Arcana).
      and if you don't want to play astrologian, then you don't actually want a more complex DPS healer, you're just lying to yourself

    its actually smart. FFXIV design has been trash since heavensward and its about time that those who are playing the most boring jobs stood up and said fuck this shit. Many people play healer for fast queue and peer pressure from statics, not because its fun. If you think healing is fun in ffxiv, great, but I don't think the majority think it is. Case in point: this huge strike thread. It's not about getting healers in a more healery spot, it's about making them fun and rewarding to play. The healers that were skilled were very obvious in Heavensward for example. Now? Not so much. AOE heal and spam your ogcd dps button in between is not fun.

      Most people aren't in statics and the fast queue is wonderful. I'm all for constructive criticism, though there need to be valid arguments to fix the core problem. There isn't a way to fix this in the post.
      Based on your comment you want to go back to stance dancing prior to some of the more recent changes?

      @@ForReal.33 returning cleric stance and giving healers a 3 button dps rotation plus procs would be a good start. In addition to more healery type mechanics rather than just tank busters or big hits as well. the concept of sage being a dps kind of healer was a good idea but they were too scared to take it all the way. Of course this is just my opinion, I don't expect to speak for everyone, but I know a lot who share my feelings on the matter.

    I dunno bro, how did we ever manage to heal in Stormblood? Give us back our offset DoT, give us back Shadowflare and Miasma II, increase the cast time of Broil back to where it was so Ruin has a role in Savage.
    Nobody wants to keep living in a world where 50% of your inputs in Savage is Broil. That shit sucks. Healers are right to strike, we're in the worst and least fun state we've been in since launch.

      Those aren't rotations ~ Those are the same buttons with a little more Complexity...
      "A DPS Rotation" Meaning A Complex Dps Rotation more than 2x Buttons ~ slightly different than what you described. You are asking for 1-2 more DPS Buttons on healers, isnt DT Giving you that during our 2m CD's?

      @@ForReal.33 Those few buttons made a critical difference. Scholar had an opener in Stormblood. Selene haste, precast your slow dot, then follow up with your fast dot, then Shadowflare, THEN broil spam. Because the dots were offset we had to refresh them frequently, which broke up the broils. Not to mention that Miasma II, while potency negative, became potency positive if used for movement in melee range and Ruin II for movement outside of melee range.
      "Rotation" is the wrong word maybe, but healers used to have a DPS priority system which was fantastic. Is that what we're getting in DT? No. As a Scholar I am getting Baneful Impaction, a button I press every 2 minutes as a follow up to chain strat. Then I immediately go back to 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1. Baneful impaction means now i'll press 3 in there somewhere maybe 4 or 5 times a fight.
      Look at any Savage clear log with a parse above grey and you'll see the exact problem. Half of all scholar inputs are boil. Not half of all GCDs, to clarify, half of all *inputs, period*. You cannot seriously tell me you think thats an acceptable design for healers right now.

      @@ForReal.33 More than one, but giving us a second DoT would go a long way on Scholar. Adding a bit to the mental stack/complexity of the job would help. I'd also like Shadow Flare and Miasma II back. More things to manage. So three or so of our Stormblood damage buttons back, yeah. That'd help a lot for savage content, which is carpel tunnel inducing right now. I'm getting repetitive stress injuries here from Broil lol.
      DPS is only one part of the problem though. I think dungeon difficulty needs to come up, or at the very least incoming damage needs to exceed the parties self sustain without a healer. In my last Expert Roulette the only heals I used were Afflatus Rapture and Assize (which I was actually using for damage potency). I understand dungeons need to be easy, but we've gone beyond easy to brain death. It doesn't need to be ex/savage content, but I need enough damage to come in to the party that I use at least SOME of my kit.

    as someone who played white mage i found it more fun to occasionally apply Regen when needed while also dealing damage and while the 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1, cure 3 can be boring i kind of wonder what would happen in they did add combat combos in for healers would that player still mange to heal ? or too focused on getting their rotations out .

    I mean, I play gunbreaker and can still mit myself for things, I don't see how the healers couldn't handle a few more buttons for attacks when Gunbreaker showcases the most complex tank rotation with still the same tanking mindset as other tanks, honestly, the tanks in current state would be great to look at for healers, 2 of the tanks being more complex, and 2 simpler ones. 2 for those that want more of a challenge balancing their mit and damage, and 2 for those that just want their main focus to be, big number go brrrr and only having to worry about mitting in their mindset.

      Yeah that's fair, I think one of the major problems with healer right now is that there is no "Hard mode" job in the class type, every other class type has a "Hard mode" Class to work with. (Gunbreaker, Black Mage, Machinist, etc.) Sage would fit very nicely into that "Hard Mode" as it's gameplay basis already encourages doing damage with Kardia. Other than that, the difficulty of healer more pertains to the competency of fellow players.
      I will say though that DawnTrail has done a lot to try and make healers feel more important, a bit more damage in general going out, damage that isn't only going to the tank, and often on the more squishy, less mit infused dps, and much faster mechanics to give newcomers, and even veteran players a bit more trouble and let vuln stacks pile up like candy. And with Picto not having a rez, Healer rezzes are a lot more common with the lack of Summoners and Red Mage's around currently

      Very well put - I think Astro fit your description well (for a complex healer) but the new card system kinda removed the skill needed to play it at a high level. So I'm totally with you!

    As someone who has read the forums for fun, to see what other healers propose, and not just this post.
    First the state of the game for healer:
    - Ultimate: good damage profile, hard to clear without healers, 5 fights in 6-7 years.
    - Savage: sometimes good damage mechs that require thinking or planning (o)GCDs (e.g. Harrowing Hell, P8S) but lately body checks are present. Someone did it wrong? They die and the mech fails soon after or they wipe the raid. 36 fights in 6-7 years (and you only do them once a week unless you help friends or parse).
    - Criterion (and Savage): nice! Just that. Better damage profile than Savage. Please make the rewards worth it, the Exquisite wpns were a nice touch (but maybe having to upgrade the tomes wpn was weird). This is fairly new, 9 fights (savage is just more dmg/hp).
    - Extreme: GCD healing is for emergencies, like someone failing a mech. 21 figthts or so in 6 years.
    - The other stuff: dungeons/trials that you do to lvl up or for expert roulette. 5 leveling ones, 8 experts. 39 or so in 6 years + trials. You will repeat these at least 5 times a week for the tomes. They usually have 3 bosses. With the changes (stuff like Raw intuition) and gear power creep... if you GCD heal either you are a whm needing blood for the blood lily... or something went really badly. 1 tank 3 DPS clear these more efficiently and without any issues (unless there's an esuna-ble doom aoe, but then brd can dispel the war and the war clears, not fast though).
    Now for the points of the healer strike, not full in it mind you, I will play the expansion as I please thanks:
    - Other roles mit/sustain: is too high, they can have it but if a WAR can self sustain and mit everything that is not encouraging MMO playstyle. Second wind every 2 mins? Nice emergency button (not talking potency). One argument for this is: healers can't ask for dps options cause otherwise they can heal and dps, they are healers, but a tank can tank, dps and heal.
    - DPS rotation: not mentioned in the post but there are A LOT of suggestions in the forums. Not asking for a 1-2-3. Asking for more crossplay between healing kit and dps kit. The change to whm making lilies dmg neutral was an example in this direction, you can "spice up" your rotation with 3 lilies (heals) every minute amd feel good with a dmg neutral (or positive in buffs) misery. Just make something for every healer.
    - Excesive oGCD: divine benison, aquaveil, tetragramaton, liturgy of the bell, assize, asylum, temperance, plenary indulgence. More than 4 and not counting swiftcast. Also what oGCDs are used in all content? Assize because is dmg. What oGCDs do you skip on SAM while doing an expert roulette? Meditate maybe if there's no downtime, but that's the same as in a Savage fight.
    - Threat level low: if the level of Sastasha is the level of all dungeons... how can we expect for people to get better? The hardest dungeon, I can think of, is a lvl 50 dungeon (Tamtara Hard) because if people dont know the mechs they can wipe you. How are lvl 90 dungeons easier than this?
    Tl;dr
    Healers feel like useless in the repetitive, daily (not weekly) stuff. Feel like designed to only be useful if something fails. Your reward for going smooth is pressing 1 (and a dot) ad nauseam.
    Self-sustain needs a bit of balance. The DPS rotation has examples.
    oGCD heals are abundant and clash with the "healer has to heal" because they promote the "dps more heal with ogcds".
    Threat level should have scaled up since ARR yet seems about the same.

    I just got into the game starting on conjurer/white mage and have Paladin and White Mage to level 40 and already I see their point. Healing can be fun but it's just click this person press this click this press this. Tanking has so many more buttons, situational mitigations, fight awareness, I'm watching my abilities my health my teammates and looking out for enemy spawns. On healer I'm exclusively looking at health bars. Healers can be played like a text based mmo.

      ​@@Shennifer255The issue is that you're basing it off of casual content rather than harder content (like savages or extremes). Dungeons are meant to be clearable by everyone to complete the story, the real challenge is the hardcore content

    The real underlying thread of this strike is that it's a disaster in terms of organization and structure that completely undermines any good faith intent it has. There is valid criticism with the way the game has sanded off so many edges from encounters and the job roles which has led to extremely binary design, but their method is not a good way to address it. Hopefully the devs make significant changes, because if this is what the game resembles in their 10 year plan, that looks rather dire.

      ​@@ForReal.33 It's just poorly articulated and WAY too open to interpretation. And a very valid counterpoint to increasing healing requirements is the disaster with Gordias & Midas Savage back in HW. As a hobby game dev, it's kinda fascinating to observe how XIV jobs give you so many buttons that mostly overlap to be roughly 7-8 effects (off the top of my head average) when you boil them down.
      Tank Buttons: Single Target Damage, AoE Damage, Gap Closer, Self Mitigation, AoE Mitigation, Healing Effect, Tank Stance, Unique Mechanic.
      Healer Buttons: Single Target Damage, AoE Damage, Single Target Heal, AoE Heal, Single Target Mitigation, AoE Mitigation, Unique Ability/Mechanic, Big Damage/Buff.
      DPS Buttons: Single Target Damage, AoE Damage, Self Damage Buff, Mobility Tool, Heal/Mitigation Effect, Unique Mechanic.
      Note: It's a super rough approximation, but it helps compare how PvP made every job feel unique with 8-10 buttons while PvE jobs struggle with sameyness. Part of me feels like the devs have gotten too caught up in artificial complexity and the need to add buttons so the player can feel growth as they level rather than refining more simple cores.

    There is no HEALING difficulty in this game anywhere, period. Even in savage or ultimate, raidwides are more of a mit check. Did your party use enough mits? If yes, party survives raidwide and then healers weave 1-2 ogcds and continue glare spamming. If no, party just gets 1 shot from full hp due to lack of mit.
    Cool, but where is the engaging healer gameplay? The healers solved the issue with minimal input and are back to spamming 1 button. It's a perfectly valid point to say that healer buttons are too strong and excessive, and it's a perfectly valid point to say that there is lack of threat, even in savage and ultimate, in the sense that you never feel pressured or challenged by your ability to HEAL as a damn HEALER. The fact that TOP was cleared without healers (ON PATCH at that) just proves the complete and utter lack of stress placed on healing even in the most difficult content in the game. Something like that should just be straight up mathematically impossible to do, idk how people can disagree that there are serious fundamental problems with the role when something like that is possible on the absolute hardest content the game has to offer.
    Personally, if I play a healer, I want to be challenged in my ability to heal. The game does not offer that currently. There are very very few situations where I feel like I seriously have to try and struggle to keep the party alive, and the few times I have encountered it are in alliance raids when like 20 ppl are dead lmao.

    I play every role, but main healer. Dungeon content is boring regardless of playing dps or healer (or tank for that matter).
    As a healer, you can try to see how low can you let he tank go, which can be exciting, so it's no that bad.
    I'm in stormblood tho so I guess I have yet to see how it changes later.

      In which content do you pair with whm? On Ultimate/Savage there's usualy one regen spot. On Criterion there's only one healer spot.
      The rest of the content doesn't have the dmg profile to need both healers or "a" healer. And that's why I didn't mention solo/no healer clears om the harder content, because you can solo/no healer the Alliance raids, Normal raids, Normal trials and dungeons.
      What would sects allow you to do in such content? Nocturnal was applying shields, shields that are not needed in the casual content because whm+whm is possible in the df.
      As a conclusion: I also want nocturnal back because I think being able to pair with whm in harder content is nice. But on the casual? Regen potency was higher when noct existed. Maybe a more tedious balancing study must be made...

    Unfortunate take on healer dps. It isn't about making dps level rotation that doesn't leave room for heals, but for engaging your brain in scenarios where healing isn't necessary. Which happens at every level of difficulty from story dungeons to extreme, savage and ultimate. Trading in couple cooldowns for more dps options not only engages your brain from dps standpoint, but also incentivizes gcd healing if stuff isn't on point. More buttons to press, more engagement, win win situation.
    Drawback in focusing more on dps rather than healing is straight up skill issue and you're a bad healer, learn to play better. Being more focused on party's performance while mindnumbingly pressing dosis is also a skill issue as I've personally done it on any job/role I've brought into savage pf. Raid awareness is a separate skill and shouldn't be pushed onto a role just because it requires less braincells.
    Sage's AOE dot from media tour is perfect stepping stone in bringing engagement back to a role that eroded most of it's engagement, as it's not tied to a 2 minute cd and diversifies an otherwise mindnumbing 1211111... spam.
    Strike itself won't impact anything, but at least some of us can cope that 8.0 will make things better.

      Why is it that all of the healers who complain about not having a more engaging rotation also happen to never play astrologian?
      if you want a complicated DPS rotation, it's right there... and yet you are choosing not to play it. In fact, you are actively choosing to play the healer with the most braindead rotation that gives you an instant cast every 40 seconds and has no weave blockage during 2-minute burst. That's wild to me. It's almost like you don't actually want a more complicated DPS rotation, while proceeding to tell others that they need "to git gud"...
      It's also wild to me that so many people only care about the filler GCDs... it's so disingenuous. you can dumb down literally every class to 123 this way. For that matter, you can actually dumb down BLACK MAGE to "mindnumbing 1111211 spam" this way.
      But obviously BLM is not a mindnumbing class if you actually try. Just like how healers aren't mindnumbing if you actually try. Unless you play Sage.
      Of course healer DPS is going to be boring if you never try to improve on DPS as a healer... or play sage.
      It's the exact same for DPS classes. You can clear content by just pressing the 1 key over and over again. If you don't make the effort to optimize, then of course you are going to be bored.
      WHM has lily optimization and needs to minimize drift on Assize.
      SCH has 2-minute debuff, aetherflow optimization, and needs to minimize drift on Aetherflow.
      AST has 2-minute buff, card optimization, and needs to minimize drift on Earthly Star.
      The only actually brain dead healer is SGE because literally all you need to do is keep Addersgalls uncapped and hold 2 Phlegmas for 2-minute burst. The ungodly amount of free instant casts you get + Icarus also means that you can ignore the fact that you're a caster for most mechanics...
      But the only reason why anyone would think the other 3 are braindead is because they've never actually tried. It's like complaining about monk being too easy because you can clear content spamming dragon kick, or complaining that all casters are easy because summoner is easy. Absurd.

      @@Cherryblossoms110 I have 99%+ DPS parses on all healers except scholar in most savage+ fights on release patch, so hopefully I am allowed to have an opinion in your eyes.
      In my view healer rotation are actually interesting when you are not trying to optimize for damage. Savage+ fights are such a choreographed dances that unless you are actively bad or ignoring mechanics then healer DPS is just pressing the damage buttons as they come off cool down.
      Your example of lily optimization is a great example of problem with healing, the optimization is mostly about using them from movement and downtime, not when you actually need to heal. In savage+ content there is so little to heal that burning your healing resource on nothing is optimal. Your comment about assize is also pretty disingenuous because most of the time it's just best not to drift it unless you're going for 100% parses with a dedicated parse group.
      Healing in casual content is the most interesting part of healing because people do not make as many serious mistakes in savage, and if they do it's usually either an automatic wipe or not a big deal as savage+ fights give so much time between incoming damage waves. In casual content it's actually optimal to use your gcd healing, while in savage using gcd heals is basically never optimal and most fights can be cleared using only ogcd skills. This results in your glare spam never stopping, even for a single gcd, unless ofc there is downtime.
      As a sage main it's nice to see that you acknowledge at least one healer is in dire need of some sort of rework. Overall I'd conclude saying that healer DPS and it's optimization is the most boring thing you could do in this game.

      Astro is more complex, but not in the dps department, rather in the healing cooldowns department. Correct cards played on each player is as much in your control as it is for said player to burst in that window to maximize it's usage. And me as a ninja being a better choice for a ranged card than a machinist/redmage because I happened to crit in that window makes correct play useless in every avenue as an average player. Also cards are only engaging in 2 minute/1 minute intervals effectively making the job more bland outside of your burst window.
      Black mage, contrary to what you believe, is pretty boring on a striking dummy. It starts to be the complicated job it is known for once you have to cast on the move, which very slightly applies to healer dps on movement heavy fights.
      I don't get your point about trying to optimize dps. If you don't optimize dps, willingly or unknowingly, why would you ask for more ways to dps? Contrary to what you may think I try to optimize dps, and succeed quite frequently too, and that's where it gets boring. Because you end up spamming the same button over and over and over.
      WHM lily optimization is residual, it happens automatically so that isn't a point towards engaging rotation.
      SCH Chain optimization around Aetherflow falls under healing cooldown plans due to the nature of how Aetherflow works, and isn't engaging outside of planning/2 minute window.
      And AST I've already mentioned, but most of it's optimization relies on crits as much as their ability to make decisions regarding cards. Which makes that decision useless halfway.
      Actually SGE has little more thinking than WHM in terms of dps optimization, because in an ideal world you have 3 instant casts for a fight and get 1 Phlegma per 2 minutes for movement. Quite less than your 6 lilies per 2 minutes on WHM.
      In short, you've complained about sage, missed my point about engaging brain outside of planning healing cooldowns, and made points about not trying to optimize that relate to nothing I said.

      @@serahill Can I ask why you think DPS roles in optimised savage fights are really any more interesting? You have different buttons to press, sure, but you do the exact same thing every pull. The few times I've done parse runs of fights in the past on DPS it was also a complete snooze-fest because there's really no improvisation involved - every GCD is planned up-front on any job that doesn't have RNG procs. DPS is just arguably slightly more interesting when you're progging and have to work around mechanics and downtime for the first time.
      IDK, to me it just feels like a lot of the people complaining about healing are "healer mains" that don't really play other jobs in harder content, and are falsely identifying FF14's general job design philosophy of static, non-improvisational, non-reactive rotations as something that's exclusive to healer.
      I think it's safe to say that a lot of people find healing most fun when things are chaotic and you're pushed to keep everyone alive despite their best attempts to get themselves killed by failing mechanics. FF14's encounter design means an actually competent party will never really provide that enjoyment, but it's not like the DPS are getting anything akin to it either. Personally, I often find healing in casual content more enjoyable than DPS for this exact reason. Having a more complex rotation doesn't make doing boring activities like easy dungeons or optimised parse runs more interesting. It feels like a weird expectation from healers that the game should be chaotic and reactive, and I think hoping that having more DPS buttons will somehow provide more challenge or stave off the tedium of... tedious activities is a bit silly.

    if you are bored of healing rn there are 16 other jobs to play as. i get that content can be easy but i feel like for most mmos ive ever played, its just the territory that comes with healing. you dont really do much but sit back and heal...i know plenty of ppl who decide not to heal in mmo's because they think its too much expectation from them lol. but i get it. if the content is too easy it kind of a bummer if thats what u want to play.

      BASED - you're absolutely right. FF14 is an opt in difficulty curve. Normal dungeons are designed not to be difficult. Savage, ultimate, hell even Criterion is where you're supposed to use your full classes kit.

    From my understanding they arent asking for a complex dps rotation, what they, and myself, want is just a few more damage buttons to engage with, like what sage is getting with a second DoT, and what scholar used to have. Even if its just another DoT, or changing from one damage button to a 1-2-3.
    IMHO there is every right to be upset with the state of healer, and this conetention has been building uo for a very long time.
    With that being said, i dont think this strike is going to do anything, nor do i think its the right course of action even if it does get the attention of devs.

    I would agree that healing is boring in FF14 especially in normal content. But is it because of the job design or the game/fight design?
    I might be wrong but i don't remember World of Warcraft healing classes to have dps rotation? As a druid i could use my green ball and my dot. (Don't remember the names) Did healer druid had any Aoe options? I can't remember.
    My memories of healing in WoW is the health bar always moved like a yoyo you rarely had time to chill. Always had adrenaline pumping. Also mana was not infinite.
    But maybe it changed in current Wow. It's my old memories.
    In FF14 it's scripted you know that the raid will start with auto, auto raid wide. You know the health bar will not move until x seconds/minutes. You can chill, spam your attack buttons for a while between damage phase.
    Maybe that's what is missing you have long monotone time in fights where nothing is happening for the healer.

      Yes healers have more than 1 dps button. Especially Druid that can go in cat form to dps. There's also disc priest that dpses to heal.

    I don't mind content being "easy", I have had bad runs with bad tank and healer so I understand why the game needs to be easy enough for casual. The peoblem is Healer kit is too boring to play even for the story mode. imagine not just running dungeons but also going thru the story just spamming single GCD 90% of the time like WTF bruh. FF14 should be easy but not braindead 1 button spam.

    So, just started playing FF14, got 400h on it, and played all of the jobs that are for free trials. I think healers need more ways to buff there team. Like not only dmg, but defence or attack speed etc, like what astrologian does but better basically what dancer does.

      It's possible, but very slow. Part of the reason people are frustrated with 1T3D is because it's faster and actually easier than running it standard comp as long as people do decent damage.

      @@Terudin Nobody is saying dungeon content needs to be as difficult as Savage. However, incoming damage should outpace the self sustain of the party without a healer. It's possible to keep the dungeons easy while dealing enough damage to justify the healer's existence.

    I remember Coil back in the day when jobs were Meta and if you didn't have it levelled, good luck finding a group. I stop maining SCH around stormblood, early Shadowbriner when Healers were starting to have superior attitudes along the lines of 'You need us to run content and what I say goes!' I think its one of the main reasons Tanks have gotten more things they can use to self heal, to take the pressure off Healers (And to curb the attitude). Take that away and its gonna go back to stormblood healers who think they are better than everyone. So if they don't wanna heal, i'll gladly pick up my book again and take groups through Dawn.

    Just did an Expert Dungeon run as Scholar with Paladin Tank...
    over 95% of spell casts are NOT heal spells, 78% of which are Broil, Art of War and Bio
    I don't know in what dream world people live in but how can this be considered Healer?
    And no this is not really getting better in Savages. Over half of spells there are still mindless 1111111121111111112...
    Also, come on we just wanna have fun on our role but then this "nice and friendly" community FF14 is known for just starts shitting on us and pretending there is no problem at all. Very disheartening to see.

      if you wanna have fun then have fun, like savage will always be 1111112111111 that hasn't changed and won't change. Do healers need more DPS buttons? Yes, are they going to get them? Absolutely not, and the reason they won't is they want healing to be more accessible. To make healers do more then just spamming glare/broil/malefic/dosis is just gonna complicate the job more then it already needs to, if you want a complex rotation go play mnk or gnb or literally any of the other jobs that have exactly that. Healers are meant to be about healing not complex dps rotation

      @@lifeiaskedfor In that case why not give more damage to heal? The problem is that healers are just spamming 1-2 damage buttons entire savage fights because there is not enough damage to heal. Most savage fights you can heal only using ogcd skills, which means there is no breaks for the 1 damage button spam.

      Healing is not about HPS numbers, Healer is about support. Sometimes support is attacking enemies because that's objective when you run a dungeon.
      I would like there to me more to a job class that damage or healing, but this is an action MMO, you should play a slow, strategy based game instead. More unavoidable damage is going to make a healer or tank a forced burden on the party. Most healers and tanks in MMOs are just glorified HM mules. You should want to do something other than put up numbers.

      Besides that, isn't the entire discussion about how monotone healers are? The fights are not interesting for healers as you are just pressing 1 button for however long it takes, I would not call healer gameplay very active.
      I have no clue what the term "HM mules" means.

      @@serahill I never said that "healing is boring". Divine casting isn't just about casting HP recovery magic, just as being a Fighter isn't about just attacking over and over again.
      "HM Mule" is a pokemon term. It means one of your party members is only there to remove an obstacle or is forced into your party that doesn't do anything meaningful otherwise.
      Yes, I know that Dia, Glare x2, repeat is not riveting gameplay. But "just heal me" isn't riveting gameplay. Neither of these let's me interact from my party, just just detaches me from them.

    What a load of something. You expect people on the forums to come up with a solution or suggestions? They aren't game developers (as far as I know) that is not their job. Also when it comes to engagement and DPS, I'm pretty sure the amount of DPS they want isn't a full blown DPS kit, but rather 1-3 (something like that 🙄) amount of buttons added.

    This is the same crap the raiders pulled in WOW after Lich King. Blizzard listened made everything harder and it was an unmitigated disaster. Just for this I'm leveling all four my level 90 healers first. All jobs play the same? No. If you think Bard and Summoner or Monk and Black Mage ect play the same you are wrong. There's threat in dungeons when your party doesn't know mechanics or your tank is under geared.

      Let's do a thought experiment, even though we all believe the strike only has a couole of people behind it. If a vast majority of healers decided they dont like the healer role as it is, and they followed your tip of "dont play the role", would that be a strike?

    I think it's a loud minority of healers that agree with the takes of this so called "strike". You also need a clear path of what you want. As a meme I think it would be funny. But I can't take something like this seriously.

    Honestly i think this healer strike is just moronic at its core, but at the end of the day i could care less. Personally, i say give these shitty healers the nuclear option.
    Lets give them Wow's M+ dungeon damage profiles. Congrats! Now you have so much damage coming in, you dont have time to DPS.

      That's unironically what a lot of us want.
      I don't think you know how boring XIV dungeons are right now as a healer. I just got out of my expert roulette. The only two heals I used the entire time were Afflatus Rapture, an instant cast, which I mostly used to gain blood lillies. And assize, which I wasn't even using as a heal, I was using it for it's damage potency. The rest of my inputs were holies on mobs, and glares on bosses.
      I would KILL for Mythic+ style content in XIV. Let me actually and unironically use my healer kit. Make the game harder.

      @@Ririten Honestly, you think you do, but you dont. You're talking about an expert roulettes where the content has always been easy for over 3 expacs now. if you want more of a challenge, then i recommend jumping into the harder avenues of content like Savage and DSR/TOP first.
      You say you want M+, but have you played the current state of wow? Where damage coming in is so bad that its unhealable? Where each pack has so many mechanics that if the entire party aoe CC's out of turn the party wipes? You want a healer strike, WOW actually has a HUGE healer shortage and has had one for Expansions now.
      Unless you've pushed near or over 3k IO this season, or last, please take a step back and go do harder content in 14 first...like Critereon first.

      To address your comment though, yes, there are several layers under it....but the playerbase will never stay in those lower levels forever. Everyone who does harder content will eventually want to push something more difficult till it gets to the points i mentioned. What happens there? The shitty players get weeded out. Eventually they get fed up and will either quit cause they cant do the content they want, or....make a stupid strike.
