Kana slapping aqua is immature yet understandable. She loved him for almost 3 years. She was grieving so much that she forgot what is right, what is wrong. Losing the love of her life made her heartbroken. She is a child-like charecter who isn't mature enough. Kids this days isn't aware of some basic manners. She fulfilled her promise of slapping aqua, her actions speaking, "I kept my promise but you coudnt. Come back to life!" Agree or not, Kana loved him unconditionally. But i would say slapping a corpse is a little much but yet thinking about it making me laugh. Like who the hell slaps a dead body (unless it's my enemy, i woudnt mind.), but i woudnt mind cursing at it. 😂 Btw, Akane is the goat. Kana isn't trash.
Yeah you summed up Kana’s actions pretty well. Slapping a corpse is a bit wild, especially at the funeral, but it’s pretty in character for her and was for the promise. We share the same take on Akane too 😂 🤝
She loved him for 12 year, and she isnt trash and akane is goat, you get the gist. The bad news, that this doesnt change things, heihachi mishima is dead. And it is the thing, that aqua wants above all. Well i missed that 164 released, it is even bitter. Adios little boy, who wants to play big boy. Poseidon spare your body, hope Hades would spare your soul.
I'm sorry but no it isn't understandable to me bro I lost my father when i was 4 , my 9 yrs old little sister when I was 13 and my grandpa at 16 who was the closest person to me in the world and I've seen many other kids and teenagers who like me lost their loved ones aswell but I don't remember a single person doing something so disrespectful like this I was taught to respect the dead from the start and I used to think everyone agrees with it till I saw the comments of this chapter (not you buddy) saying stuff like he deserved it , should've hit him more or i would've joined in , you slay girl etc etc bs like that which makes me question people's morals
Akasaka spend so much time and energy on a series of bringing loved ones together. In this series Akasaka spend so much time and energy in keeping loved ones apart forever.
First of all, completely disrespectful to slap someone's corpse at their funeral, so Kana is in the wrong for that. However, I can understand that she's acting irrational because its her own way of coping with loss. I almost want to say its a realistic way for someone to react to the death of a loved one. Too many people leave things unsaid until it's past late. Let that also be a lesson to everyone. Evaluate your own relationship with the people you're close to and ask yourself, if you one of you died tomorrow, would there be anything you need to say right now? Better to say it while you can, rather than you saying it to their tombstone or them being forced to say it to yours.
I love this comment, a realistic vision, and a good lesson, kanas line "I didn't even say I like you" (or something like that) shows you how you should tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, so that you don't regret it after they die
Everyone mentioned Ruby in the comments Ruby is the last surviving member of the Hoshino family, so I don't think she will have suicidal thoughts (she will be very upset and in pain). We already saw Akane's reaction... My girl seemed to understand what was going to happen, she just wanted to repay her life debt to Aqua. Stand proud Akane, you are strong. But Kana...Kana's only purpose in living was Aqua. She had already achieved her dreams and goals, and she wanted to be with the man she had been in love with since childhood. The shine in her eyes is gone, and will never come again.
@ her career, b ko machi, ruby, memcho, ext. not to mention kana is fine even before she reunited with aqua. Lord you shippers. You know people have other qualities then liking a character you like.
Im pretty sure last chapter, aqua left a recording explaining everything just like ai did, specially for ruby, where finally aqua opens up his heart and beg her to not give up and trying to chase dreams. Its a possibility that he recorded another one for Kana to finally confess his feelings, and the other one to Akane apologizing.
Kana being herself and taking her anger out and keeping her promise to Aqua...Miyako showing her mother side for Aqua...but Ruby out of everyone suffers the most losing two people at once...
@@megatron2171she lost the mom and thought she lost the doctor which led to her being depressed. Found out doctor was alive again and has gotten that hope only to find out that aqua ends up dying for good. That’s complete devastation
I agreed, Ruby is definitely the one who hurts the most 😢😢 I'm surprised we didn't even get to see her first reaction. I mean how come she, who lived in the same home with Aqua, not realize he hadn't come home that night and only found out he's gone by watching news on TV ? 🥲
@@MarianaBello-fq3hx Aqua was a brother to her first, then Goro. 17 years of being raised together and being by each other. She's ofc close to him. It's only afterwards she finds out aqua is goro.
I'm surprised Ruby is not slapping her too. Considering this red anomaly slapping her dear brother corpse and also cause their big fight because Aqua need to reveal their mother secret just to cover Kana own scandal.
HELP, I didn't expect that so many people would defend Kana. She was truly in the wrong. Slapping Aqua's body at the funeral in front of his mom was extremely serious! It's very disrespectful and rude act in Japan. I know you all love Kana and understand her-I know she's been through bad times too- but her actions were completely irrational and lacking in basic manners. Even if it was a promise, I don't think that excuses her slapping Aqua. If I were Miyako, I would have slapped her as well
At least Akane got to date aqua and even kissed him two times before he broke up with her and died Even Ruby got to kiss him two times, but not kana she’s the most unluckiest girl ever this officially confirms it aka officially hates her she keeps taking L after L she never got a W every time there’s a little bit hint that she might get the W aka just takes it away from her poor girl. She has suffered so much in my life, but this is the final nail in the coffin. This is aka giving kana The one last middle finger bow to her and her fans he was like no girl you will never be happy in my story aka made her suffer, till the very end never gave her happiness, and gave her the final F U, and the biggest saddest moment of her life now she’ll be depressed and live miserably, and be traumatized for the rest of her life 😢😭😭😭😭😭
Bro kana is alrady a very overrated carecter and she got tooo much screen time even she is not the part of the main story so if aka gives her more atention then it seems like she is the main carecter
1:41 my most favorite line, "While her actions are understandable, grieving does not give you a free pass to do whatever you want." Being sad or miserable doesnt give you the right to treat others like dogshit, and for some reason Kana fans are idolizing her behavior, im not blaming her, she was mad, but seriously.. let the dead rest in peace, and if you love someone, then repsect them.
I also remembered that kana did this from the perspective that Aqua died of murder. So that's f'd up. I'd say the slap is reasonable if the public was told he committed suicide, but since kana thinks he died of murder, then slapping his corpse is 😬
I mean, Aqua was a selfish a-hole the entire series who treated everyone like a tool for his obsession of revenge and he actively destroyed the lives of everyone around him by being the selfish little man he was. I think her actions were more than understandable. This is a good way to finally move on from him hopefully. Not worth dwelling on someone like Aqua.
@@orga7777 but kana doesn't know he committed suicide, based on that, slapping a corpse.. is just not right, man.. I get it, Aqua was terrible for dying by leaving everyone behind, but still, he did everything he could to save Ruby. That's admirable, thought he could've done it in other ways, he's no genius, he's just a boy with former doctor experience, not a genius. All being said, slapping is a huge nono, it's also a crime..
Damn Bro Kana really kept her promise to Aqua and honestly I don't blame Miyako for slapping her back for what she did 😢 but it's nice that Akane is there to help them grief but right now Ruby definitely needs help right now especially after losing her brother. 😭 Thank you Zephyr and Donut for the early leaks of chapter 165 and please keep up the great work as always yo.🥲👍
Seems like they’re giving Ruby space for now, but hopefully they’ll support her soon as well. As for Kana and Miyako, they both had understandable reasons for doing what they did.
Yup, im convinced, Author is purposely trying to make Kana the punching bag, i am an Akane stan, but i dont hate kana, but it seems like theyre purposely trying to make her look bad, like they could've made her do anything but that. Regarding the slap, I dont support it at all, but I wont hate kana for it. The slap wasnt right at all, Especially as someone who likes viewing things from personal perspective, if someone slapped my loved one I'd probably be like Miyako. But then again, writers fault fs, and unpopular opinion, This ending is not worse than Mha, Aqua dies, finally can be at peace. If he lived he'd still be living for others, because hes just that selfless. Now may he rest in peace once and for all.
While I don't hate Kana, It sorta pisses me off to see people defend this action, like don't normalise this, please. I shrugged off her action until some people on Twitter (Not calling it X for the death of me) "She kept her promise" don't normalise this. Please. No promise makes up for this behavior. But before people call me a mindless Akane stan and Kana hater, I'm once again clarifying, all blame to the writers, and the fans who've been sending death threats and terrible comments to Mengo and Aka online, not just kana fans, the entire fandom related to it, what is wrong with you? Who hurt you? Please leave them alone.. they're human, but real. Yes, the ending isn't all happy but that's no excuse to talk shit about them.. think of what you'd feel if you were in their place. Istg ONK fandom is the same as reality show Akane haters.
i dont care about slap, religion is a fake a book a novel a fantasy one but written by people thousands year ago. and if I care what happened after my body after I die? not much, if I wont be ate by pigs or something like this then I'm all fine. slap is slap also she loved him the only wrong thing was that his family was here and she did it before them.
Kana first of all victim of her own model from real live. That idol, who was threated to her death. It seems she was same as kana whitten, so akasaka even not trying to change something. In the end, I hope they will not shift their minds, reviving aqua for any reason.
same authors milked their mangas by killing characters and sometimes for no logical reasons js bc they want to kill them and in this case aqua shouldve truly lived he is really a good person and he lost his life twice ? which is unfair bc he should at least live in peace w his loved ones and he didnt even get to spend sm time w kana after ending things w akane
And his death brought more despair than good Miyako: lost a son and one of ai's legacy Ruby: lost his doctor twice, and now being the last hoshino alive Kana: never get the chance to have a relationship with his long time crush Akane: failed to save aqua and repaying her debt Mem cho: lost a friend who able to fulfill her dream Taiki: lost his brother Gotanda: lost his son like figure Ichigo: failed to protect what ai left behind This is too depressing

Okay, I am a huge Kana fan. And I understand and actually agree with those who say she is overbearing and dramatic at times, and they dislike her because she is just not their cup of tea. But, I like her BECAUSE of that, I too would have felt meh about her if I had found her to be too annoying. So as a fan of hers, I too think her slapping Aqua's corpse is EXTREMELY disrespectful. There I said it. And I don't exactly justify her for that action. But from a writing perspective, the foreshadowing was actually interesting. It was weird, but, I mean, she is Kana. And her being emotional here is UNDERSTANDABLE but not justifiable. I just like the choice of writing here for her reaction to Aqua's death. She isn't a pure person, she actually is someone who does extremely uncalled for things without thinking much. She is mature regarding her experience in the entertainment industry and she understands how things would work. But, in real life experience, dealing with her own self and emotions and keeping friendships, is something she doesn't have as much experience in due to her avoiding such things for a long time. And this scene showed her immaturity, which is an interesting touch, from a writer's perspective...
Everyone knows that it is disrespectful, the thing is a lot of people are just joking about it because they couldn't care less anymore after Aka bombed the ending. The first thing that came to my mind seeing the video was "as expected of Kana, she really kept her word". It's not really about immaturity, to Kana, it's her last connection to the boy she loves. Since we know how she is as a person, it comes as no surprise that she actually did that. Most people are just taking advantage of the situation to throw shi* at her character, the usual haters, it's nothing new.
@deadline6149 Her immaturity did have a hand in not making her think twice about WHAT she did infront of WHOM at WHERE... Immaturity here means inability to hold oneself back and embracing the emotion without constrain.. And that human nature is what I like about her, so I too was like "....ofcourse she did it-"
@@LiyuKaruma if you mean it in that sense then sure. I just find it funny how people are jumping at the occasion to trash the character despite this being nothing new. Meanwhile "Akane is the goat" because she wanted to aid Aqua with murder. I know she is grieving but sheesh, that last panel makes it look like she didn't change much at all since Tokyo Blade.
Kana needs to know her place first. She has no right to do so because she isn't his sister neither his girlfriend. She has been following him for straight two years expecting from him to return back her feelings. Not even once he confessed that he loved her. In the end when he was talking to Goro, he kept quiet and said nothing about Kana. The end when he was drowning, not even once he said he loved her...he only said "it might be a good idea to respond to Kana's feelings " his entire interest on Kana was basically hormones drive and the fact that he is an 18 years old kid. Not even once he considered her as a wife material or someone to be serious with. She isn't that of importance in his life and yet her crying and her reaction was too much
This is why Aqua's quest for revenge was so foolish as it was selfish. Yes he wanted to avenge Ai, but look at what it did to the others. Everyone that loved him are now in incredible pain because of his actions, and now they have to learn how to live with it. And I know that is something Aqua never wanted to do and that's hurt everyone. Akane is suffering in silence, Kana is lashing out. I shutter to think what's going on in Ruby's mind as this is the second time she lost him. It's ironic he did all this to protect Ruby, but in the end he probably caused her the greatest amount of pain. If I were the others I'd keep a very watchful eye on Ruby. I could see her attempting to kill herself if they're not careful.
Ultimately he killed kamaki to protect ruby ( the psycho would have gone after her), not to get revenge for ai. I dont think he would have killed kamaki if he hadnt been a huge threat to ruby.
Sucks one of the last conclusions we had for Kana is that the person she loved dies while she had her final concert. I’d argue her and other characters (like Ruby) were done dirty in the later parts of the manga. On top of that, she gets lash from the fandom for what she done. It’s understandable why she did it, her being emotional from his death but it’s definitely irrational too. Everyone else would only suffer in the end.
Kana literally lost it and I feel like she’s the unluckiest girl through the series Akana dated aqua and kissed and after they broke up ruby kissed her brother aqua and kana nothing biggest L for her😭
It was never a ship anime, you should know that by now. Actually, if I'm honest, Kana was never part of the original plot, not even a little, everyone had more involvement in the life of the Hoshino family than Kana herself. She's a secondary character, whether you like it or not. Even Akane is more involved with the twins than Kana herself. That says a lot.
@@yesica9267 akane was more like the MC.no ones to blame its just aka.but may be kana was not the part of the plot she was funny and realistic thats why i love her.
@@bilashbanargeargha7559 That's just because she happens to be very smart but only that. We even got to know them just because of the wish Ruby made before dying in her previous life. That's what Ruby said, as well as Tsukoyomi and Aqua who also say it, that he was reborn because Ruby/Sarina wanted it and asked for it. Akane may be relevant but that only happened because Ruby wanted it, Akane knows a lot of things but she never knew who Aqua and Ruby were in their entirety (I mean she never knew that they were reincarnated people and that they had contact with a Goddess called Tsukoyomi in secret). I would say that Akane became more of someone who will tell the story from now on. The authors made it clear to us some time ago who the protagonists of this story were and those are: Ai, Aqua and Ruby....if we think about it carefully it is Ruby who causes everything to turn, since she is the one who introduced us to Ai, she instilled her fanaticism in Aqua / Gorou and above all she asked for the wish to be reincarnated as Ai's daughter and the Goddess Loli fulfilled it because she loved Ruby/Sarina just like Aqua/Gorou. Ruby is the last living protagonist and who with her wish gave life to this series, I don't know what happened to her but something good is not, because the authors are saving it for the end and if Akane became the narrator that means that Ruby would not live for long since she lost everything again and once again she was left an orphan and without a reason to live. 👀 I like all the characters from this series but Ai, Aqua and Ruby are the real protagonists, it began with them and will end with them.
Aqua drying by drowning is aka basically saying to all the fans and shippers that all ships have sunk all the ships have sunk in the bottom of the ocean with aqua, and there is no going back. I’m surprised by the amount of people defending what Kana did and justifying it. No amount of grief or anger you are feeling has the right to slap a damn CORPSE in front of that body’s entire family? In real life that is a extreme offense and you can get arrested for that especially since Kana wasn’t in any intimate relationship with Aqua besides being friends. Also, she didn’t keep their promise, Aqua in everyone’s perspective right now is a alleged murder victim. So worse, Kana basically slapped a murder victim in a funeral with every grieving and that is seriously just shameless I know that Kana was not in her right state of mind but that doesn’t give her the right to create a stressful commotion in a funeral, it’s plainly disrespectful to everyone present and is just such a bad addition to her character generally 😭
True. Even I'm a Kana fan I won't be a blind one. What she did is disrespectful and deserves a sure amount of backlash from the fanbase. She deserved it. She showed her immaturity but that doesn't change my love for this character and for all of it I pity her the most, since after all this, she has no emotional support compared to others. I won't be surprised if she became a villain, she has all the tools to be one.
I didn’t expect Kana to do that, she did promise she will slap his corpse but like we knew we were never gonna see that anyways but here we are now. I never understand why Aka did this to Kana’s character, Kana is a very popular character in the manga, she is up there with Ai. I just don’t understand why man.
Imagine starting to meet again someone you used to know:you know him more, you laugh, you cry, you joke, you get flustered, you get angry and time passes, almost 3 years from your meeting are passed and you finally understand how much this person is important to you and you want also to make this person aware of it. You are able to do it, you are at the peak of happiness, because you succeeded, you finally have done it, but out of nowhere, one week later on the day you decided to expose totally your feelings.... He Just died.... No Goodbye, No Hugs, No Words.... Just a cold body.... He died and you could have not do ANYTHING about it... I really loved Kana as character... She is like the purest character in a corrupted world, where she was able to stay the same, but Akasaka just killed her, i dont think i will be able to forgive this, he just decided to make all of them not miserable, more and i will never accept it
@joaoafonso211 You can dont like her, but she is, she can be annoying but is honest, selfless and even supportive, she is childish but can act really mature, i loved her character because she is not perfect at all but she manage to recover after her mistakes
Akane has her mother for emotional support, but Kana doesn't have anyone outside B-Komachi. There's a chance she'll return to the group. I remember at the end of Madoka Magica, how Homura swore to keep fighting to honor her fallen friend. A continuation of B-Komachi might do the same for Ruby', Kana, and Mem-cho.
Akane became a main character with death of Aqua. Everything happens from her perspective. Edit: Damn i missed start of F1 Sprint Qualifying because i wrote this exact comment by whole 1 minute Edit: Turns out i missed it by half an hour because it starts earlier than i thought
oscar takes pole in sprint quali n lando wins the sprint‼️ anyways if anything, i hope akane watches out for ruby ruby is a mentally strong woman, but times like this would absolutely destroy someone mentally
Chibi Reviews commented on this chapter and the message Aqua's fate tells, and I couldn't agree more. That if the message Aka is sending with Oshi No Ko, specially Aqua's ending is that to live a life with anger and vengeance, no matter how to try to use it, the only thing at the end of your path is self destruction, then Oshi No Ko really nailed that message. Think what you want about what Aqua's plan achieved or not. It's utter bullshit to believe that what he did by throwing his life away to murder Hikaru was purely out of wanting to protect Ruby and nothing else. Although it showed how in the end Aqua wanted to live, he didn't want to die, he lived his second life with hatred and anger for such a long time, that in the end, his story ended in self destruction. Regardless of what positives his self-destruction achieved for others, it was still selfish disregarding the pain he's given to those who he's left behind because of his death. The lives he may have potentially ruined. If Aka's message is that vengeance matter how it's useful will always lead to a life of self-destruction, then he wrote it well.
50 pages is a lot to just cover ruby. And for what akane said, it seems like Ruby doesn't give up on Aqua. I think we'll get a huge final chapter and Aqua could revive easily. The best leak of this manga. Also for the slap, if kana didn't do it people would trash on her for not keeping her promise. She did it and people are trashing her anyway. No matter what kana does, some people are gonna hate her for absolutely everything she does or doesn't
Kana really can’t win no matter what she does. It’s sad. You’re right about next chapter tho. 50 pages is enough time to show Ruby, Aqua possible revival, and more
@ZephyrRetro If you think about it, Kana started with no important people around her and being an actress that was stuck in mediocre roles. Now she has a best friend (Ruby), has akane (which idk wtf are to each other, but you can say they're pretty good friends), she graduated, she's successful, she's a big actress once again. But shipping wars are like that, and a great portion of the fandom hates her just for existing. Even if she somehow ends up with Aqua, they're gonna hate her for not doing it before or some bs like that.
"People would trash her for not keeping her promise", who are these people ? Absolutely no one bothered about her promise, it's not meant to be taken literally. That's just basic manners, you're not gonna roll up in a funeral and slap the corpse because you promised the guy to do so, that's utterly disrespectful to the grieving family members. I'm sorry but her actions this time can't be justified in any way possible
@@passerby0102 Who are these people? The same people that trash on kana for absolutely everything. Maybe in the future, when she acknowledges that he's dead, she won't slap his corpse. But for now, try to sympathize with the girl who lost the most important person in her life because everyone talks about how Ruby is gonna react, but Kana has the same right to be as hurt as Ruby. We had 2 entire arcs to see how depressed Kana is if Aqua just dissappear from her life, LIKE NOW.
What the hell. Slapping a dead person’s body, in front of their mother and family too? Thats insane. I don’t care if she promised him or whatever, thats just so disrespectful of her! Slapping a dead person, especially in their funeral is just vile. Just because she’s suffering because of his death doesn’t mean she gets a free pass. Plus, she promised him she’d slap him if he killed himself, but the public think that Aqua was killed, so that’s just so crazy. I wish that Kana knew about the true context behind Aqua's demise and had something worthwhile to say alongside the slap. If she knew, i at least would play devil's advocate but doing that to the body of someone that from your PoV was MURDERERD is disgusting. You're right, but it's also not right. No matter how you look at it, you should never do that in front of the grieving family. Miyako slapped her because no one would like your deceased son to be slapped by someone who isn't even a relative of yours. Kana's pain is understandable, but I'm sorry to say that this is not right on Kana's part.
Yup, it’s getting annoying right now and almost ruined the emotional scene. Plus it’s becoming MORE bad moral lesson to people especially asians like Japanese people themselves doesn’t like that scene and behavior.
At the end he saved everyone who mattered to him, but he couldn't save himself. Akane wanted to help him, but he shut her out. He was fueled by revenge, with later greater intentions to save Ruby, his selflessness and dissociative behavior, along with his guilt trip to himself caused by not being able to save Ai nor Sarina led to him making the wrong choices. He wasn't a bad person but as said by the crow girl his genes from Ai and Kamiki really interfered with his way of thinking and acting, not to mention that he was a child but with the memories of an adult. I realized that the biggest mistake that he made is that, he was really trying to selfishly burden all of this pain and solve everything on his own. I could yap about this all day long, but the last thing I would want to mention is that I can really sympathize with Aqua, in a way that I would likely want to handle difficult and painful things on my own, even if I would know that's not the right way of doing it and that I would end up hurting myself and others in the end or during the process.
If it is true that the final chapter has 50 or more (52) pages, then the summary will be longer, and it will tell more of what happened after the upcoming one until the ending of Oshi no ko. Remember chapter 1, the 1st one in volume 1, it has 43 pages before the other chapters had 20 or more until 18. That means if it's true, for the first time since the 1st chapter, we will have a chapter with the most pages. I hope Aka wasn't lying about this, especially the total number of pages of Volume 16.
My gosh he’s actually died… for some reason I thought there would be a big plot twist revealing “Aqua’s Body” was actually Hikaru and that Aqua was actually alive but no… Aka actually did it the Mad Lad actually killed off Aqua
i actually called it after seeing 163 aqua stabbed himself in the abdomen, losing loads of blood (the wound is quite deep as well) jumping into the sea during winter, not to mention hes already deep in the sea as well no help nearby except tsukuyomi (crow girl) i guess we have to let our oshi no ko rest 😢
@@alekgatorr But Aqua did say he wanted to live, why didn't that count - crow girl better fix this. Who knows, Ruby may hunt down the crow goddess and demand Aqua be reborn again. I would have. If she did it once, it's not like she can't do it again.
@@Sashagable with two chapters left, i also see a possibility of aqua getting revived/reborn, 50/50 though (50 pages in the final chapter may seem like a chance for aqua to get revived) we still have tsukuyomi, but we just dont know if ruby is able to get her to revive aqua in the last two chapters (though tsukuyomi did revive them both once since sarina/ruby saved a crow) yet if aqua managed to come back, then itll affect the drowning sequence or anyone that is prepared for aqua to go (like me) aqua’s fate still lies in aka and his editor’s hands, we’ll see how this goes out in the final 2 chapters
3:20 Bro this CAUSED a LOT of drama online 😂😂 twitter farmers couldn't have rest anymore. Fanwars and stuff breaking out currently, but all this is a way for them to timepass ig
@@Toyarmy12387 umm he might not actually. After all, we are talking about Sarina as Ruby, who truly lost for now her reason to live. At this point she seems already more broken than ever before.
I don’t care if Kana did that. That’s her way of grieving the boy she loved. My only hope now is that Ruby will live her life to the fullest, for both of their sakes.
I want to see ruby very sad, crying, broken and all and then keep living and become the biggest star. and maybe reincarnation on goro/aqua but somewhere else in other dimension or something where he can life peacefully he didn't wanted to die.
Not surprised. She felt betrayed by him. It was his destiny to die again. Well he's with Ai Hoshino now. Not the end i was hoping for. But I had a feeling it was going to end that way. It was hinted throughout the story arc. Sad.
Poor Kana, Ruby, Akane, and everyone else. I'm not sure to think since we only have two chapters left, including this one. But there is some hope. In the last part, if what Akane believed is true, meaning that despite what happened with Aqua as Ruby is mourning along with the new situation she is in, I think Ruby is indeed someone in her family who didn't break that easily, never give up this time. I hope that will happen in the final chapter, and I hope that she will have a second chance Aqua left behind.
Look I know people may hate this but I can honestly respect a man who went out for a higher cause and few causes are higher than protecting a loved one. Aqua died as he lived, a trooper to the end and for that he has my undying respect. Fs in the chat for our boy Aqua. Each F is another drink I'll have in his memory.
there is still hope remember they said that aqua body was just a little damaged due to the cold , but where is the knife injury , hmm... i think it's hikaru body not him because his body wasn't intact but stabbed , that's just a theory ... yeah hope
I wonder how Aka is gonna wrap this up on chap 166 its been amazing to see this series progress. Ngl I would wanna read a non canon OnK where Ai would guide Aqua and Ruby through the entertainment industry while showing its dark side or just a slice of life one.
Imo I think this was the biggest kindness Aqua could give Kana and I feel that’s Aka sensei’s sentiment as well. As devastated as she is at the very least she won’t have anything to hold onto. Ruby & Akane have special memories but in a sense they also have special parts of him they’ll have to carry for the rest of their lives. On one hand, especially for Ruby, they’ve been through so much but at the same time they’ll be ok because they’ve endured so much. In Kana’s case she’s this broken up without her feelings having been fleshed out through them dating so if those feelings had been poured into and allowed to grow this would’ve been all the more devastating to her. Kana is special in her own right. While Ruby is a dedicated idol and Akane a dedicated actor Kana flourished in both fields and got to shine brightly and it had long since been established Aqua feared the darkness a relationship between them would bring to her.
0:20 now im confident to say that aqua's death is needless, they could have just captured nino made her spill everything , then police have sufficient reason to arrest kamiki, and with that much victim, he can get the death penalty While i dont like that kana need to fulfill her promise, its understandable. Kinda wish she just had a moment of hesitation and gently put her hands on aqua's hands. Feels really bad for ngl And then we have ruby, she lost sensei twice now she is the only living hoshino
the problem is that, coming from aqua’s perspective, he wanted to kill hikaru himself hes too into revenge that he couldnt think of a better way to send hikaru to hell its a shame
@@alekgatorr i really wish like idk akane made a plan to like abort aqua's plan as soon as like she didnt try to dig deeper about what aqua's gonna do ( remember that was her goal), like despite aqua met and talk to kamiki before, he is still a murderer. Like she basically made it like something went wrong in capturing nino when its not. Then if aqua is angry at akane for ruining his revenge plan she will say " did you ever consider the number of people that will mourn for you if anything happens to you?"
@@alekgatorr in the leak for 165 she said " he had the eyes of wanting to live , if i keep asking more details about his plan he will be angry" wait since when does that stop akane
My god i can already see the kana hatets going crazy on twitter 😭😭 but on a srs note i don't understand this community tbh these last few months there has been lil to no development in the relationships in this manga but someone under every post of the chapters its always kana this akane that like dawg our mc has been dying for the past months 😭
Aqua may be putting his great acting skills to use by pretending to be dead to hide from the public eye, then he may dye his hair. Such drastic measures have been taken after almost death scenes in spy movies.
Literally expected this when i saw the "tragedy" tag, we also saw one chapter "Calm before the storm" where aqua and ruby were getting chummy. When i saw this manga for the first time, it had only 4 chapters(saw it pretty early), and got hooked. But always felt like some weird Akame ga kill moment is coming as I've read enough manga to predict what can happen in what manga.
Wait I thought fist fights are common at funerals. It’s happened at all my family’s funerals. Grandpas funeral was bad. My great Aunt’s funeral had guards to block certain people and a fight broke out there. At my dad’s funeral there were riots going on nearby and an uncle showed up who was not wanted. I didn’t go to my grandmas funeral but she had to work apparently she had a lot of people who hated her. Violence and funerals are like PBJ; they go together quite nicely.
Personally,I dislike the events that are occurring. But that may be due to burning way to much my braincells thinking what may happen next. And I don't think things will get any better,it's like drinking while being hammered, there's no improvement. 290 pages last chapter is huge. In the end,I know one thing,I'll never get involved with manga like this again...
Opinion piece Now for the fact that this next chapter post current leak indicates that it’s 50 pages - it can’t just be about Ruby or how they cope and grieve Aqua’s loss without there being a final turn. Surely!!! I think (and hope) the creator himself understands just how much potential negativity he might get with this news that he dies, Because although there has been parts that indicate a death, there have also been several moments in the series that guarantee there is a happy ending after all. One of the more vital pieces and I keep emphasising on this one because it is psychologically important at least is Akane’s life being saved by him. Other moments could be just how invigorated Ruby felt when she found out Goro was aqua, when he needed to find a way to get into his emotional acting and when Kana told him to find things that made him happy, and he saw what made him happy. And even just how he said That he could focus on protecting others when he initially found out or thought that his father had died. I feel that these are breadcrumbs more than anything because of the fact that there will be a lot of people (the majority of us readers) who will see was downfall and death as a negative way in finishing possibly one of the more Perfect manga series. This is a series that I believe has and shows it has the potential to unite people in discussions (we can see it now) Especially with more grounded (realistic) concepts. Yes I know there is a crow girl and the concert of reincarnation isn’t real - but other than that, I feel that this is one of the more fundamental pieces of in this art form that is generational. At least here in Australia, I’ve been able to talk to people who are into anime and mangas and they all say the same thing about Oshi No Ko (all positive) I hold onto the hope that he still alive to finish off a series in the best possible way, even if it means that he doesn’t get with either Akane or Kana (Akane’s personality reminds me of my wife so you know who I stan), The conscience that is Goro/Aqua has gone through absolute hell in his life that there needs to be some semblance of happiness that comes his way. And it can’t be that he sacrifices himself for the betterment of Ruby because in hindsight it is not the best way to go about things. because as much as he says that he’s creating a life for them without him in it, there is no surefire way he knows that will happen, their grief will be overwhelming and unbreakable. To be against the grain here: We currently live in a society that plays heavy on the concepts of real world issues and consequences. And just the negative backlash from something like this such as loss or suicide or failure is more easy to be perceived in a negative way than an understanding way, especially for a casual person. Which is why I can’t help but constantly go back to the story arc in which you see Akane go through her trauma and her non-alive-al thoughts because the backlash would’ve been way too immense if they went through with something like that and she really hurt herself. Even if it’s a Manga series. I might be wrong on this, but that’s just how I perceive the grasp on our subconscious when watching or reading something in this current climate we live in today. I could also be wrong in all of this and the 50 page chapter could be based on how they move on without him and they all find some semblance of coping and moving on, which in hindsight if they do it correctly sure would dampen the blow but it still won’t be enough for the majority of people who read this series. Some people say that they think that death would be the most fitting end to his character. I wholeheartedly disagree here! Aqua has based his entire life around not being happy and living only for revenge. When he does the things that do make him happy or provide him with the opportunity to display happiness, he thinks of those around him. He's even planned for Ruby to be ok when he dies. He doesn't believe he is worthy to live happily because of Ai's death. The natural character arc for him would be to learn how to live well, with the people who care about him around him. If he is to be revived or returned in some capacity physically and not spiritually , it is going to take quite a lot of those 50 pages to convey the story. that’s just how I see it. After the last two chapters and this current leak, I’m definitely keeping my expectations low on the outcome of the final chapter because the last two chapter have genuinely sucked all the energy out of me. I have never been so moved by a series since the first chapter, and for me to go all the way through an entire series only to find out that i believe most of us had envisioned in this series just turned into absolute shit with one traumatic moment, is heartbreaking. I’m sure I’m not the only one on here… And some clarification here, for a series to have moved me so much says a lot, because I’m very impatient when it comes to a series or any form of entertainment. I am open to everything at that, but am quick to lose interest in things when I don’t like the direction, it’s a natural human response I believe. I’ve encountered various series, mangas and shows that I have lost interest in but I can name 3 right off the bat! Frieren: Beyond Journeys End, Dragón Quest: the adventure of Dai, and this masterpiece; Oshi No Ko! But all of this text could be for naught, and Aka might blow us all out of the water in the final chapter… I don’t know… I just want a hug…. lol
It’s not Aqua’s death that bothers me though. It was Kamiki’s. After all he did, death is mercy. Honestly 2024 feels like the year where mainstream manga endings are just plain bad.
This ending feels so rushed . I have no problem with Aqua( his character arc is complete) dying its just that there is not much chapters to properly conclude the story . Hopefully we get a 50 spread chapter for 166 . Been praying for 3 weeks straight for him to live , bud may be fictional but he taught me how to truly care for my family and friends especially for my little sister. He made everyone's dream come true , kept giving to his loved ones until he had nothing left to give 💔💔. HE DESERVED BETTER 😭
Consider a lot of thoughts and prediction, im 90% sure that Ruby will not die and this will ends... well just like this, a bittersweet ending. We start with only Ai, alone and ends with Ruby, with almost everyone sided by her. That maybe is meaningful enough for an ending (Kana, Akane, Miyako, Mem, etc...). Killing her will make Aqua's death pointless. Reviving Ai or Aqua will also make their death pointless. Also base on the BURNING ed of ONK SS2, we might have a grisp of Ruby's ending. She runs painfully with a black dress to the door, which might means she will keep going with her road carrying her pain. We start with a famous idol and ends with a famous idol. Just like how it was the start. Maybe a vicious cycle of the entertainment industry, but at least Ruby got more to live for than Ai. (This is just my wild guess from... myself. The ending should at least convey a meaning.)
Aqua did everything he could atleast this confirms that ruby will probably survive the animes ending would probably be one of best no matter how sad it gets and many people may call it bad writing but its a superb masterpiece
@@thegamerboy2360 Ruby may not live long either, remember that by becoming a definitive Idol like her mother she earned the hatred of many people, especially from Kana's fans, Akane already said that there will be people who will try to hurt her just out of morbid curiosity. So I don't see Ruby so safe, even the final chapter will focus on Ruby and its pages will be much longer than the ones we are used to seeing. They showed us all but something strong is coming with Ruby and remember that the author does not care about "what they will say", it did not cost him anything to kill his main characters like Ai and Aqua ..... Ruby would not be the exception.
@@yesica9267 thats why i think akane is going to protect ruby from now on alongside with miyako she legit saved her TWICE from hikaru n nino so she’ll get the job done as well she also knows that aqua did all of that for his sister’s future, so wouldnt be surprised that she’ll step in as well however even with akane or miyako’s protection, we cant guarantee ruby is completely safe, but i hope ruby wont lose her life during the final two chapters
What if the body that they found wasn’t aqua, the one in the funeral casket wasn’t aqua, it could be Hikaru as they said “minimal damage” I dont think a stab wound to the gut is “minimal damage” and HIKARU AND AQUA LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME. COPE MAXXING FR
Kana can slap, but cursing she’s unable to do. Either because she didnt want to cause even more of a scene as she already did, or she cant bring it up because of the overwhelming pain of losing someone she cares about. As bad as it goes, I guess its Kana’s way of saying she really missed him. But in all fairness, Aqua really is a liar. I have mixed feelings between “he deserved it” and “he doesnt”. Though she could have a picture of him in private and curse at him for the least, would have save the trouble. Edit: Also, I hope she moves on as she said to Aqua. I’d say she still has a chance with Pieyon since she did have a crush on him until it turns out to be Aqua.
✅️ it's disrespectful to slap somebody corps at the funeral open casket with family watching, if you said otherwise you're just insensitive culture b*th ✅️ while some inside lowkey we know aqua deserve that slap, and kana deserve slap back from miyako ✅️ whole event kinda realistic for what's happen at some funerals, chaos with emotions ✅️ ruby couldn't react at all because all her reaction of aqua's death just her murmured in corner of the room crying about looing two person in one event (her sensei and her oni-chan) ✅️ akane is goat. while try understand aqua behavior (to manage her emotion overflowing), she take care of kana whose couldn't even stand up, shaking due to sadness. to be fair both kana and akane in same age (one year older than the twins) made me respect akane more ✅️ i kinda supprise without Hikaru's dead body closure, authorities declare Aqua's death as murder victims of Hikaru with just Nino's arrested scene and admitted how she and few others was deceived by Hikaru's words ✅️ the last chapter of oshi no ko got 50 pages as we know Aka cooking something for ending. even 1st chapter on 1st volume got 43 pages which quite high compare the rest of oshi no ko chapters ✅️ me, myself quite drain out because of oshi no ko (in good way ofc😅), because of aqua's death.. 😭 miss him forever.

Wow Kana, your not the only one hurting here princess. And besides Akane knowing the true, everyone believes he was a victim of murder. Yeah, slap the victim for getting murdered, totally his fault (technically was but in the context of someone not knowing how it went down). GTFO Kana
@Gibmeprimogemss like only the reader, and Akane could defend her actions but BARELY even then. It's so disrespectful! If anyone defends Kana here, I would ask them to take the perspective of a friend attending a funeral, and they witness the shit she did. Horrible
You people really think Kana didn't figure it out on a subconscious level? She is not dumb enough to thibk Aqua was murdered against his will by his own father.
@@deadline6149 how would she know? Even Akane said aqua had the face if someone who wanted to live for the future, even she was surprised when aqua died, so how would Kana subconsciously know all the sudden? She was even waiting for him in the dome, she didn't know. She thinks he died of murder. Only Akane knows the truth. Because kana doesn't know about aqua's plan, she wouldn't imagine he'd stab himself and drown. Because she has no reason to believe it. She believes aqua is a normal person not a vengeful young boy.
@@Kit_birb yeah, and Aka would place the chapter where Kana warns Aqua about her doing this for nothing? Aka fuc*ed up the ending but i doubt he did that unintentionally. Kana is also not clueless anymore, she was there during Hikaru's interview, she starred the fuc*ing movie, she knows almost everything. As for Akane, you are talking about her thinking "before", after Aqua's death was confirmed, anyone that knows him well enough would realize something is wrong.
This is a bit under whelming ngl. If you’re going to kill off the main character, you should probably make it more high stakes; it kind of just came out of no where …
People would like Kana better if she somehow prevented Aqua from dying by saving him and sacrificing herself But what does this annoying brat do instead? Disrespects the body in front of Aqua’s family. Disgraceful behavior.
This is crazy I can't believe Kana would do this to Aqua, and I'm so sorry for Ruby and I could feel the pain inside 💔, I just couldn't believe it. And Akane did all the investigation for Aqua. I feel honestly bad for kana aswell since she been getting so much hate like aka literally just used her since i actually thought kanaxaqua would be a thing but just ruined kana more like i just feel sooo bad for her, literally she liked aqua so much but now hes gone and she cant have him😭😭 Edit: why did aka write her character so terribly? So unfair tbh Edit 2: i dont think aka even liked kana in the first place like she hasnt been a W in the whole manga yet since ruby kissed aqua like 2 times and Akane was dating aqua while kana was just secretly liking him.
Honestly, I 100% understand Kana's feelings towards Aqua. Of course I'd be angry, furious even. I just still can't accept Aqua's death because he hasn't fulfilled his dreams yet. I don't fokkin care what everyone thinks about me or what I will say, I seriously am hurt by Aqua's death, as if the person I like rejected me. It just fukking hurts man I know I considered a REALLY tiny chance of Aqua dying, but I didn't think it would happen. I seriously did not want to see that happen. Man, I don't really care anymore after this leak. Also pls pin me
Exactly my feelings! I can't accept this ending. I never expected Aqua to just die without ever fulfilling anything at all. There were other ways to frame and kill Hikaru without sacrificing yourself. I'm regretting following this manga regularly. I hate this ending so much.
Same it feels so so wrong like I can’t accept this at all, he deserved to live his life fully and not THIS….he can’t just die..every time I look at him I just get reminded of this it hurts I want him to live he has to live this ending feels so so unfair to Aqua
@@PhrygianTurk Maybe yes, but this part was quite unnecessary even though it correlates the promise she made. I feel so bad for her, aka couldn't stop giving her L. Not so good writing on kana's part
I actually kinda like this scene. It adds more heaviness and impact knowing how bad funerals can get irl. I feel bad for everyone including Kana still after the slap. Was it right for her to slap him? Nope, absolutely not. It was disrespectful to him and his family. Kana getting slapped was definitely deserved, but I noticed at the same time she looks so dead inside when she was slapped. She's definitely having a breakdown so I can't help but sympathize with her still. So not justifying it of course, she needed that slap from Miyako and she rightfully gave it to her. Just understanding the unstableness of her mental state that this has on her and everyone else. They all deserved better.

Btw, Akane is the goat.

I was taught to respect the dead from the start and I used to think everyone agrees with it till I saw the comments of this chapter (not you buddy) saying stuff like he deserved it , should've hit him more or i would've joined in , you slay girl etc etc bs like that which makes me question people's morals

I don’t mind her yelling, but her SLAPPING his dead body was crazy and disrespectful. What you said is true though
Everyone mentioned Ruby in the comments
Ruby is the last surviving member of the Hoshino family, so I don't think she will have suicidal thoughts (she will be very upset and in pain).
Kana part is not true. She has other reasons to live.

Being sad or miserable doesnt give you the right to treat others like dogshit, and for some reason Kana fans are idolizing her behavior, im not blaming her, she was mad, but seriously.. let the dead rest in peace, and if you love someone, then repsect them.
I also remembered that kana did this from the perspective that Aqua died of murder. So that's f'd up. I'd say the slap is reasonable if the public was told he committed suicide, but since kana thinks he died of murder, then slapping his corpse is 😬
@@billogdaeggog9071disrespecting any dead is vile work no matter who it was. Even worse at a funeral
Now that is a true kana fan u have my respect

"most criticized endings" you mean
The ending is shit. Like the last arc is going to lose a lot of people.

So worse, Kana basically slapped a murder victim in a funeral with every grieving and that is seriously just shameless
I know that Kana was not in her right state of mind but that doesn’t give her the right to create a stressful commotion in a funeral, it’s plainly disrespectful to everyone present and is just such a bad addition to her character generally 😭

I wonder how Aka is gonna wrap this up on chap 166 its been amazing to see this series progress. Ngl I would wanna read a non canon OnK where Ai would guide Aqua and Ruby through the entertainment industry while showing its dark side or just a slice of life one.

Finally new post :D
Continue the great work idol
0:20 now im confident to say that aqua's death is needless, they could have just captured nino made her spill everything , then police have sufficient reason to arrest kamiki, and with that much victim, he can get the death penalty
While i dont like that kana need to fulfill her promise, its understandable. Kinda wish she just had a moment of hesitation and gently put her hands on aqua's hands. Feels really bad for ngl
And then we have ruby, she lost sensei twice now she is the only living hoshino
the problem is that, coming from aqua’s perspective, he wanted to kill hikaru himself
hes too into revenge that he couldnt think of a better way to send hikaru to hell
its a shame
@@alekgatorr i really wish like idk akane made a plan to like abort aqua's plan as soon as like she didnt try to dig deeper about what aqua's gonna do ( remember that was her goal), like despite aqua met and talk to kamiki before, he is still a murderer. Then if aqua is angry at akane for ruining his revenge plan she will say " did you ever consider the number of people that will mourn for you if anything happens to you?"

That’s actually crazy 😭 sorry to hear that happened tho
@ Eh it’s normal at this point. Emotions are high. It rarely causes any lasting damage and most of it is from beef before it started.
Sorry to hear this happened 😭
Personally,I dislike the events that are occurring. But that may be due to burning way to much my braincells thinking what may happen next. And I don't think things will get any better,it's like drinking while being hammered, there's no improvement. 290 pages last chapter is huge. In the end,I know one thing,I'll never get involved with manga like this again...
Revenge is a fool's game
Opinion piece
Now for the fact that this next chapter post current leak indicates that it’s 50 pages - it can’t just be about Ruby or how they cope and grieve Aqua’s loss without there being a final turn.
At least here in Australia, I’ve been able to talk to people who are into anime and mangas and they all say the same thing about Oshi No Ko (all positive)
I hold onto the hope that he still alive to finish off a series in the best possible way, even if it means that he doesn’t get with either Akane or Kana (Akane’s personality reminds me of my wife so you know who I stan), The conscience that is Goro/Aqua has gone through absolute hell in his life that there needs to be some semblance of happiness that comes his way. And it can’t be that he sacrifices himself for the betterment of Ruby because in hindsight it is not the best way to go about things. because as much as he says that he’s creating a life for them without him in it, there is no surefire way he knows that will happen, their grief will be overwhelming and unbreakable.
To be against the grain here:
We currently live in a society that plays heavy on the concepts of real world issues and consequences.
I’m sure I’m not the only one on here…
And some clarification here, for a series to have moved me so much says a lot, because I’m very impatient when it comes to a series or any form of entertainment.
But all of this text could be for naught, and Aka might blow us all out of the water in the final chapter… I don’t know…
I just want a hug….
Agreed 😢

Kana getting slapped was definitely deserved, but I noticed at the same time she looks so dead inside when she was slapped. She's definitely having a breakdown so I can't help but sympathize with her still. So not justifying it of course, she needed that slap from Miyako and she rightfully gave it to her.
