    Thanks for your Video on this subject. I have spent from Oct - Mar this year learning these lessons the hard way, spraying a similar problem on the front. You are the first person to be honest, warts and all on the issues that arise. Unfortunately its what you don't know until you find out with these jobs..

      @@usuallyfixingtinkeringI would be massively pleased if I could manage to a standard like that. I’ve just done a few radiators using a rattle can, and it’s very tricky indeed, so hats off to you.

      Tip that made the most difference in the spray action is to warm the paint in a jug of very warm water, it goes on far better!

    Really good job, I don't think you could have done any better than that with spray cans

      Absolutely not, this is the best result anyone can get from rattle cans and tbh you'd hardly know and I'm not looking at it every time I pass - which is a sign I've satisfied my own standards!

    That's the only thing i hate is painting as so much can go wrong don't matter how clean and rust free its a old ford some body just done a quick paint to hide it job just to sell it on but it's not hard to put some metal welded in the boot but to be fair you have done a good job with wat you could afford to do and looks alot better mate 👍

    • @usuallyfixingtinkering
      @usuallyfixingtinkering  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its a necessary evil otherwise it would cost a fair chunk to have that tailgate welded as the window has to come out etc. I'd be better off searching for a better tailgate and repeating this process again. It may happen, it may not time will tell how good this repair and paint lasts.

      Can't you find a boot with out the same problem thats the thing to be honest it's the prep work wat takes time and costs money I've got a mig/tig and mma it's flux and gas its a small welder just for vehicles so if you do change your mind I could do it for a reasonable price you might be able to help me out with finding a focus MK1 in a few months time when I'm looking for I don't mind doing favours for good people I'm old school person till someone does wrong to me but the offer is there I'm Worcester area mate 👍
