Monolithsoft is just the best game company I have seen in a long time. The story and game play has been a joy. I didn't think this would leave me more shook story wise but I was wrong what an ending 😢😢. Awesome review

Great review. Still need to pick this up. Youre review of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 actually got me to get that game so I’m definitely picking this one up. I’m pretty hyped about the van and rear guard system.
I agree with the review. This game is down right brilliant. In many ways it's actually better to start with than the original game simply because it eases you much better into all the aspects of Xenoblade Chronciles.

Almost finished Torna (43 hours) And the game is absolutely brilliant; everything from the gameplay, to story, to music to the presentation is great.

This review was awesome. Your enthusiasm and hype was off the charts. I ran out and downloaded it right asway after the review. I was hgolding off on the season pass so far and now I am glad I did, since it comes for free along with this whole new game. What a bargain! I was in no rush to get the pass just yet because I am not that far into the base game yet, just dove in a few hours so far, but liking it quite a bit so far. I did about 200 hours or more into Xenoblade X on WiiU. I dont think I wil actually ge tto torna for about a yea ror so lol but looking forward to it after this awesome review.
Literally can't wait for what Takahashi and his team make next.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been my favourite Switch game but I really hope Monolith Soft patch in Torna: The Golden Country's combat mechanics into the base game
TGC combat is so much better
They said Expansion Pass content is concluded but I don't think that needs to exclude potentially switching up mechanics - so there's hope!
Sadly ,they won’t. I agree with you though. Rex was so slow throwing the aegis around ,that it literally put me to sleep! If you’re waiting for a patch,it will probably be Xenoblade 3.

Nice video OJ. This is a great time for expansions/DLC. My favourite game of this year is also DLC - Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion. It's absolutely fantastic.
Bought all three Xenoblade games in the Switch after your recommendations. After XC:DE should I go to Torna then X2 or do X2 first even though Torna is a prequel? Thanks OJ for steering me towards this series! I'm loving XC:DE so far!
Still like XC2 as my favorite Xenoblade (if you count Torna as separate) but it's still so damn good! Great review OJ and hopefully more people will give the series a shot with this new refined, and cheaper (in terms of price, not quality!), expansion.

Got the DL via Exp Pass, but I have to wait until I get home to DL it; I was updating to 6.0.0 at a restaraunt when the internet, ( webportal access), hiccupped and reset. Now I'm stuck in an update loop where I can't connect to the internet with a webportal until I update, but can't update until I connect to the internet, and I all I usually have is webportal wifi. Gotta love technical issues. :/
This sold me on getting the expansion ahead of Xenoblade Chronicles 3

What really impressed me with this game is the art style of the characters. It fits so we'll and a great improvement on what they did in XenoCX

I finally beat xenoblade 2. Definitely one of the best rpgs I’ve ever played. Still sooo much to do in the base game, gonna be awhile before I hit torna
Does torna physical copy give you an icon on the homescreen or is it still accessible from the main games main menu

I love tales where you know the heroes have a doomed fate but that hope does exist later in the story.
Its probably why Revenge of this Sith is the best of the Prequels
I have to agree. Not that I didn't like XB2 but Torna 2 hooked me in very quickly and I love all the characters and the story that is in Torna. The production value and art just seemed a bit better. Just so much stuff I noticed is better in this game. Absolutely a must buy for anyone enjoying the Switch.

Brilliant review video PE Ninja Master. Torna DLC and XBC2 is awesome guys. I would say Torna is absolutely a good start for new comers who wants too get into the franchise or people who was maybe put off by the first game, I would say go and check this out and see what you think of it guys.

Just bought Torna but I need to get back to playing Xeno 2 first.
This game was fantastic and I loved it but after thinking about it I wish they would've skipped Gormott and just made Torna a lot more bigger. It was just a wonderful Titan to Explore that I would've loved to see more of it. Maybe they should've start the story in Gormott for a bit then move on. Other than that this was just so GOOD!
Got it today it’s really good for my first xenoblade but the res in handheld isn’t great

Get through the 40 hour mark of the game and it slowly becomes better.
Took me a bit to get into it but when I did, I LOVED IT.
One of the only super long rpgs I ever finished (pretty much in it's entirety).
It's worth it
If you had of you played Torna first you would've liked 2.

I'm surprised the reception is THIS positive to the dlc.
I did enjoy it a lot as well, but the mandatory sidequests soured my experience.
This is not to didmiss anyobody else's opinion.
There were also many retcons of the kind that made it feel somewhat disconnected from the main game.
Anyways, the main game is my secod favourite RPG ever
They pad out the DLC by making you do the side quest i stopped playing for bout week due to that. Game be very short if it wasnt for that. The battle system is alot more smoother though.
Might pick this up if there are no waifu boxes or field skills, sound better already, goimg to have watch all the xbc2 cutscenes first before playing this

I liked it more than the main game. I liked Lora way more than Rex
Honestly, I don't like Lora. She hog most of the screen time and did nothing with it other then go like: "I CAN THROW A SWORD AROUND!" For instance... Tell me about Haze... How and when did Lora got her? Beats me BECAUSE THE GAME SURE AS HELL DOESN'T CARE! IT IS BUSY WITH OTHER CHARACTERS BEING AMAZED AT HER THROWING A SWORD AROUND! Rex, might not have been the most developed character out of the bunch, but their was a purpose to that... To develop the other characters. The full on party got the development and attention they needed and deserved. This game? Not so much, it is too busy with a sword being passed around. Yes, Shulk had the spotlight from his game, but here is the thing... HE DID SOMETHING WITH IT! THERE WAS REASONS FOR PEOPLE TO BE AMAZED BY HIM! Lora takes the spotlight from many of the cast because she can pass a sword around. That is a fraction of my despise for her.
The voices did sound great I loved Addam’s voice

Xenoblade 2 did not quite surpass Xenoblade 1 as my favorite game ever, but with Torna, it certainly does. Torna makes everything in the main game so much more depressing, and it give Jin's and Mythra's motives so much more depth to the point it's painful to think about.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna the Golden Country is absolutely amazing it's just WAY TOO CASUAL it has less complexity for a Jrpg game but its a good entry point game for any people who want to try a Jrpg game....
Still i think i prefer Xenoblade Chronicles 2 main game's combat as it was challenging, complex and it feels good to stack and break orb a sense of accomplishment but in TGC it was meh since there is no difficulty in stacking and breaking them it just MEHH.....
Not a fan of game / series that lose it uniqueness as Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a concept of "One Weapon Two People" which TGC didn't stick to which i understand why from story perspective... really prefer 3 blade switch strategy of main game lot of customization and complex mechanics is what make any Jrpg amazing
Love the Blade Awakening Mechanics as it not mandatory like the side quest in TGC.
Finally come on why can't i have Jin and Haze as reward in Main Game ??? Please Monolith Soft make this happen and it will be cool if Jin and Haze brings in Switch Blade Mechanics to main game (that way we will have a complete set of all XC games Mechanics Rex uses :P)
XC2 : 350 hours TGC: 20 hours (thats saying the less content and complexity of the dlc story game)... still a lot more to do in the main XC2 game
I think we've been spoiled on Monolith Soft titles. Cause this game has more complex mechanics than Dragon Quest and many other RPGs, yet I don't think DQ is too casual.
This game is more complex or as complex as Octopath. Interesting take.
Thats why i love Monolith Soft Games they make the best Jrpg games out there... i was just rambling about what i didn't like in TGC cuz i love both TGC and XC2 game

Good to hear it’s different from it’s predecessor. As someone who hated Xenoblade Chronicles 2 I’m very happy about the combat and story pacing being different as those were my two gripes with the original one and great to hear the voice acting is improved because holy crap the voice acting in the last one was the worst voice acting I’ve heard since the PS1 days I usually never turn on Japanese voices for JRPGs but I absolutely had to with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I guess I’ll have to try this one out as I was really intrigued by your review.
If this was the worst va you'd heard then you must not have heard like any other voice acting.
cabbage scented candle not to this degree no and yes I have heard some bad voice acting recently but not as awful as Xenoblade Chronicles 2; examples being Zelda Breath of the Wild and certain parts of Final Fantasy XV. Persona 5 is the gold standard of JRPG voice acting besides some of the bad name pronunciations.

SonicMaster211 everyone feels miscast. Not only that they always sound confused like they had no direction or context to what they were saying and of course the acting in general was bad.Nia was pretty awful and annoying. Mythra/Pyra was ok but I think the actress playing them wasn’t dynamic enough; as she didn’t make there voices sound distinct from one another. Rex was worse than any of them as he was supposed to be the guy we get behind and his performance had the opposite effect on me. I love the Xenoblade series and I intend to play Torna but I absolutely hated XC2 and the voice acting was only part of my issues with the game. Hopefully that explains it.

I have the expansion pass but still haven’t started the Torna expansion. I have 250 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I gotta say it’s by far my least favorite Xenoblade game.
How come?
SonicMaster211 personally I like the X style where it’s more about exploration and customization. I don’t like in rpg’s where I can’t create my own character and alter their appearance. I was hoping after X that the level of customization would be a staple of the Xenoblade games. I know they sacrificed that for story in XC2, but I didn’t really care for the story that much. Rex is obnoxious and probably the worst main character in any rpg I’ve played, and I really don’t like the whole driver/blade dynamic. Just have them all be playable party characters like in the first XC.
I will say that X did had better exploration and cosmetic customization. However, I found the story incredible. How was Rex obnoxious? How is he the worst character ever? Also... At least you can play more then just one character, just having 5 playable characters was alright with me.
SonicMaster211 I didn’t really like most the cast honestly. Don’t care for Morag at all. I found Rex and Nina to be very annoying and cringed every time they opened their mouth. The story and characters in XC2 were not worth giving up the customization and exploration for. Still a decent game, just by far my least favorite in the series.
…. How was Nia bad? Also, I still don't understand Rex. What was wrong with Morag? Actually they were. Besides, the exploration is still there, just not as much as X. I really don't understand your mind set with these characters and story, you are being vague about them.
