    Amazing when we observe, all the bounty here for us, even the so called "weeds" dandelion, plantain, shepherds purse, lambs quarters, nettles, the earth and God is generous, when we have eyes to see are meek= willing to learn. So enjoy Pauls attitude, sanity, and thank you for filming this too :)

    Wow I dont have alot of time myself to watch videos but so awesome of you to compile these for those w ho follow Paul and his BTE method. We live in the pan handle of Idaho and arrived to our off grid homestead with nothing but a pile of clay and ROCK! Although we have a nice growing season it pales to what Paul has where he is at. so we were desperate for a solution. We found the BTE method like most on your tube and of course being followers of Christ loved the concept. We are now in our third SUCCESSFUL year of abundant produce that wont quit! We have ,modified the method to suit our self contained homestead and it is working out stunningly!! AND since we have our own water source and that being the most valuable commodity here..We have saved on water immensely. We had 100 plus degrees all week with fires everywhere!! It has been horrible YET we watered the BTE garden only twice. We are sold and God bless Paul for listening to god Word to help all of us GET back to EDEN!!

    So glad I found your videos. So inspired me to keep at it. I have clay and sand soil on a creek that flows through town and isn't very clean. I have horses on my place and chickens and 1 goat. So access to straw, saw dust and off hay that I've been using to mulch with. The saw dust has manure through it. I'm hoping to get hold of wood chips very soon. So far I have a few fruit trees and pecans. It's a beautiful path to be on. I have a guide dog as I'm blind and I don't feed dog food to her. She digs up carrots as well and I feed her meat from neighbors farms. I know thats a different video but anyway she is a very healthy dog.

    I've been watching Paul his video's for several years.. and am trying to grow a BTE garden, but here in Nashville, TN.. we are currently having low 90's degree weather already in June.. and praying our garden will survive..

      Currently 89 in Eastern Washington so, I feel your pain. At least it's not 120 yet. Maybe think of some shade cloth and only water at night if you need to. I have three blueberry bushes one in full sun, shade and partial. I can tell the difference between all of them depending on how much sun they get.

      Wow.. had NO idea it got that hot in Washington state. My hubby is from Portland, OR and I don't remember it being that hot there when we've visited in the summers. And L2Survive.. I sure appreciate All your video's and questions on Paul's tours. How often have you visited Paul's garden, and when was the last time you were there?

      marchetta67 I'm doing it now. It took about 40 hours to save the 5 hours of footage of the full tour. It has been about 10 hours of uploading to TH-cam with my slow computer and internet connection and I am only at 30% uploaded. It will be done by the time the others videos are viewed.

      Tina Fisher Every week and just about every day, people come eat out of his garden. I think if the people came to eat his crops, they would leave well fed and maybe a little protective of their new friend Paul.

      that's nice, I live near Detroit, if the hordes make their way this way, I don't think I'll be as lucky, nor will I have enough to share. Glad he'll have that much, and I hope he is protected.

    Question: how can I treat my pasture organically in order to maintain a good nutrition value on it? So far I did not spread manure, because horses are eating around their poop areas - so why spreading all over the place...

  • @MrMac5150
    @MrMac5150 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I think part of his success has to do with cool temperatures and rain fall, and is in
    just a good area for agriculture.

    • @StarryHilder
      @StarryHilder 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MrMac5150 I have to chime in because i think you are partly right about the success. We do the BTE method, a revised method here in the mountains of Idaho where we live off gird. We have a different climate and growing season then Paul and I think people need to keep that in mind when dong the method. Some revisions may have to be implemented like we did. But over all the co concept is awesome. Our garden speaks for itself so we are very happy. But also knew we had to do some things a little bit different and also think outside the box! Do you have a garden and use this method??

    • @MrMac5150
      @MrMac5150 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Starry Hilder I am glad the method works for you because, the proof is in the pudding, and what is important is the end result. To answer your question, Yes I do have a garden, have I been very successful ?, not really the way I would like, I am in a very dry area, and belevive that might be 50 percent of the problem. I have been using sawdust, due to what I can get, looked good but stunted the growth on all my plants. Still trying. Remember Paul gets more rain then you and me.
      P.S.
      By the way I look at all your videos, so I am very familiar with you.

    • @StarryHilder
      @StarryHilder 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes that sawdust didn't help!:(( Thats always a hard lesson to learn! Dang!:((
      So you see our garden ...those woodchips we have are pretty deep. Can you go to the county and see if they chip the wood up and if it would be available to you? Have you tried also your local dump? Even leaves and grass would help! i pray you get rain....Im sorry to hear a bout your garden, WE all need rain!! God Bless

      NO sawdust did help it is great till it takes all the nitrogen, I use 21-0-0 with the sawdust now and it is a winner. Just wanted something you do once and forget.

    How and/or what does he feed his chickens in the winter?

    • @L2Survive
      @L2Survive  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jonai Cooks Kale, weeds and left overs. He grows rows of kale all year to feed his chickens. He does have a trash can full of organic feed in the chicken coop to give them when it snows a lot but, that can has been at the same feed level for the entire time I have known Paul so, it doesn't get used.

    I have put a huge amount of yard waste in my chicken pin and now my chickens are stuck with a lice infestation :( If you live in a humid climate, make sure you keep a dry spot for your chicken to dust bath.
