As a pincer-claw grip user, that combination at 3:12 looks like it'd be perfect. Having owned both the Saitek-Madcat RAT 7 (great customization but way too heavy) & Logi G9x, it seems like this (modern modular mouse) was a long time coming.

If there isn't enough of a market to mass produce them, I couldn't imagine mirroring the shell and a small bit of software and hardware tinkering would be that expensive not to make them to order.
I've been using SoSpacer Shape Shift for the better part of 1/2 a year on my Finalmouse ULX and being able to cater a standard shaped mouse to my grip is definitely great for ergonomics and creating more contact points for even better control. If they continue adding and refining to the concept of this mouse it will make an impact to the industry, so many people have different references and hand sizes
I also don't see the point of it honestly. Most modular products like this don't get changed once the user finds their favorite setting and all the other parts collect dust in a drawer somewhere.
First, how're you gonna find the shape you like? By buying several actual mice? Much more money spent and waste created. Secondly, at least I don't have the same shape preference for ALL applications of my mouse. Different games or office stuff do definitely benefit from different shaped mouses I think.
That's not the point at all, lol. This mouse kit allows you to change around the shape of the mouse to find the one that fits you the most, instead of having to buy like 10 different mice to get the shape that you want. It's about finding the shape that you like the most, not about changing the shape up a lot. I know that most people (at least here in the US; I can't speak for foreign countries) can just go to Best Buy or Micro Center and try out different mice, but even then those stores don't have every mouse on the market available to try out in person. This kit lets you spend money once and try out dozens of different shape and size combos to find the one that works best for you.
@daandelombaert7198 Yep. Buying is usually the only option for many places, even in the US, where most mice I am interested in aren't available for demo even in multiple micro centers nearby me. You'll never find brands like WLmouse in Micro Center, and especially not mice that are limited in quantity.
bro your channel name is actually perfect, you cover tech based on an "is this optimal for you" lens and i love it. i main LTT for general tech stuff but your channel is completely different, in a sense that you cover the best of the best for different categories such as monitors, mice even pcs and scrutinise it thoroughly. keep up the work my gee.
@OrbitalWorks_coyeah, grips can vary a lot throughout game its something that i think a lot of people come to realize after experimenting with different shapes and grips with mice i tend to change from fingertip grip to claw gripping a lot
I thought the same thing initially but I'm not so sure now. Firstly, I can definitely see myself using different mice for different things (ie a bigger mouse for non-gaming stuff). Just switching grips could do that as well. Secondly, how're you gonna know what your right setup is otherwise? Buy several mice to test them? That's far more waste and money spent.
I realy like the idea. I would not be surprised if they later also introduce a bit larger base model for the ones that think that the current one is not big enough
@OrbitalWorks_co I am looking forward to that mouse. The idea is awesome and that you guys give the option to print own parts is something that can't be praised enough. I will order one when the pre order starts
0:18 So this guy has never heard of the Logitech G9 / G9X. You had 2 different backs that you can change and convert it between a slimmer controllable mouse suitable for 3D shooters, or a larger one with a thumb rest.
I fell in love with this in like 3 minutes. That is something. I always struggled with finding my "perfectly-shaped" mouse, the one that can fit perfectly in my 20cm-ish hand. And now I see THE one. My only hope is that they ship stuff in my country (doesn't mean that I couldn't *kindly* ask someone to ship it to me through them but first option would be the best). UPD: also for those who are interested in what kind of specs this mouse has, go to their website and click on "pre-order". For some reason, they show an actual info right there and not on a front page (which would be most logical place)
This mouse reminds me of the now discontinued Razer Ouroboros which had 2 different grip options on either side as well as the ability to adjust the length of the mouse using a similar rail system as well as adjust the angle of the back of the mouse with a little wheel under the mouse. It also had the option to adjust the resistance of the scroll wheel. The sides also worked as buttons which you could press in. I think in total there were 10 mouse buttons plus the scroll wheel.
for anyone whos intrested in side grips like these - ive started making pretty similiar looking ones last year called Hyperwings. Most important thing for me was that you dont have to spend this much money and can just put them on almost every mouse but yeah - really dig their concept nevertheless!
If your hands are tiny and never play FPS games the G502 is still a great mouse yes, but otherwise there are many better mice for half its price. You don't have to get this expensive experimental mouse.
@@houssamalucad753 if 50$ is expensive then u must be playing on the cheap 5$ chines mouse that break after evry 2 weeks 50$ is perfect price for a mouse not less not more most mouses with that price have bad motherboards g502 mother board is very good, no lag while playing shooter games
This made me realize that I would love a mouse with modular buttons and such for repairability. We have keyboards with hot-swappable switches and we have the Framework Laptop for a modular laptop... Now we need someone to make a mouse like that.
It is not remiss of me to say that if this starts popping off, it could end up being the endgame for so many. Literally all-in-one package! In theory, you wouldn't ever need to purchase another mouse ever again. Am waiting to see the final prototype and maybe looking to purchase later iterations of this very mouse
This is actually pretty damn cool. We already have custom keyboards but can't really customize mice. Hopefully this will be successful and pave the way for other companies
Concerns are durability from continously changing the parts where the locking teeth would be smoothened. Cost is probably on the higher end for the final product. I hope the sensor would also be changeable for future sensors
i feel like this couldve been the perfect opportunity to make this lefty friendly aswell, since each part is modular you can get the same part but for the opposite side
The thing about modular gaming mouse is after you have found your optimal configuration, the extra parts becomes useless. Which means you might as well find a mouse that fits you in the first place. No one needs their mouse to keep changing or have preferences that keeps changing.
I was a little concerned about possible weight, but that does not sound like an issue. This is something I will definitely pick up when it comes to market. Even if I don't like it, it will be cool to have.

You'll never find brands like WLmouse in Micro Center, and especially not mice that are limited in quantity.
bro your channel name is actually perfect, you cover tech based on an "is this optimal for you" lens and i love it. i main LTT for general tech stuff but your channel is completely different, in a sense that you cover the best of the best for different categories such as monitors, mice even pcs and scrutinise it thoroughly. keep up the work my gee.
idk, the moment you find the right set-up
the rest unused parts gonna be useless tho
@OrbitalWorks_coyeah, grips can vary a lot throughout game
its something that i think a lot of people come to realize after experimenting with different shapes and grips with mice
i tend to change from fingertip grip to claw gripping a lot
I thought the same thing initially but I'm not so sure now.
Firstly, I can definitely see myself using different mice for different things (ie a bigger mouse for non-gaming stuff). Just switching grips could do that as well.
Secondly, how're you gonna know what your right setup is otherwise? Buy several mice to test them? That's far more waste and money spent.
If they help you find what you like, they're not useless.
I'm such an Optimum STAN. Been here since like 200k and still loving it ❤
MadCatz has entered the chat. 🤣
For some reason, they show an actual info right there and not on a front page (which would be most logical place)
isnt mad catz the first to do this?
This mouse reminds me of the now discontinued Razer Ouroboros which had 2 different grip options on either side as well as the ability to adjust the length of the mouse using a similar rail system as well as adjust the angle of the back of the mouse with a little wheel under the mouse. It also had the option to adjust the resistance of the scroll wheel. The sides also worked as buttons which you could press in. I think in total there were 10 mouse buttons plus the scroll wheel.

welcome to tech 10 years ago
Okay, but those were trash.
I hope more companies try out this style of mouse in the near future and make it more affordable
why it kinda look like an actual mouse
Because it is a mouse
for anyone whos intrested in side grips like these - ive started making pretty similiar looking ones last year called Hyperwings. Most important thing for me was that you dont have to spend this much money and can just put them on almost every mouse but yeah - really dig their concept nevertheless!
Im staying with my g502 i dont have 300$ for a mouse
If your hands are tiny and never play FPS games the G502 is still a great mouse yes, but otherwise there are many better mice for half its price. You don't have to get this expensive experimental mouse.
@@houssamalucad753 if 50$ is expensive then u must be playing on the cheap 5$ chines mouse that break after evry 2 weeks 50$ is perfect price for a mouse not less not more most mouses with that price have bad motherboards g502 mother board is very good, no lag while playing shooter games
@@houssamalucad753 the g502 is not a small mouse...
@@RM-xq7gf it's narrow, people with large hands get cramps using it for a long time.
Welcome back MadCatz
If you see this...Have a legendary day!!!
Dude stop with this toxic positivity BS.
I hope your day is legendary too bro🤝🏻
thanks for spoiling us this week
FIRST CMONNNNNNNN OPTIMUMMM
No, no you’re not.
Nobody asked 🤡
You're third. Don't get too excited.
Edit: the first person deleted their comment, so you're second now.
@jack-alvin I did 🤡
This made me realize that I would love a mouse with modular buttons and such for repairability. We have keyboards with hot-swappable switches and we have the Framework Laptop for a modular laptop... Now we need someone to make a mouse like that.
Youll love this asus patentet that shit and has swapable switches.
There are a couple of brands (endgame gear has one of those)
17 seconds and only 1 veiw??? bro fell off.
Thats such a dope concept! I love it
1:40 for fingertip, narrowness is not Important, but length. So many people confuse this.
I didn't expect you to review this
It is not remiss of me to say that if this starts popping off, it could end up being the endgame for so many.
"Hello guys, modulargamingmousefinder here and today we are back with more killin floora tuu"
If they add a side pannel for 6-12 button config i would 100% try this out. Maybe even a part to increase the weight. Overall a interesting layout
i feel like this couldve been the perfect opportunity to make this lefty friendly aswell, since each part is modular you can get the same part but for the opposite side
@OrbitalWorks_co that's great to hear! thank you
The thing about modular gaming mouse is after you have found your optimal configuration, the extra parts becomes useless.
