    You are so amazing! I am about to turn 30, and I’m learning to cook. Long story short, my childhood did not include learning any kitchen skills. And my 20’s were pretty wild. Your videos have helped me so much! I actually just bought the ninja foodi hot cold blender because of you. And yes, I used your link. 😊 Thank you for helping me feed myself! ❤

    Louise, These look fabulous! My wife is the crouton eater in the family but I do partake once in awhile. Thanks for your great recipes.

    Hi Louise,
    I love all your recipes!
    Nothing better than homemade croutons. Love them in soup too. :)
    I was wondering if you could possibly make red pepper jelly.. (with bell peppers) .. with cream cheese & crackers?

    Can they be used for stuffing?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, absolutely. I would probably make them smaller and decrease the cook time accordingly.

    Can you tell me where you can buy the spray bottle? does Amazon sell a good one? The ones I bought (3 of them) are all more like a oil jet dan oil-spray. I can order from Amazon in the Netherlands.

      I bought mine from Amazon, but I'm not sure if the same brand is available in the Netherlands. Look for EVO oil sprayer.

    Yummy 😋 I love fresh crunchy croutons, but have not tried making them in my Airfryer yet….but I’m going to soon…I really hate some croutons you get in restaurants that are so hard you feel like you’re going to break a tooth….lol..

    I don’t like the super crunchy croutons so it’s good to see how easy it is to adjust the crispness! I used to make mine YEARS ago in the oven and I added Italian seasoning. Yum!

  • @Reziac

    Bonus: Grind up leftover croutons in your blender, and have excellent pre-seasoned panko-style bread crumbs.

    Any idea how long will these last when stored in an air-tight container, Louise? It would take me a long time to get through 10 cups of croutons. LOL If they won't last very long, I might try reducing the volume by half or more.

    • @Reziac
      @Reziac 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd put them in ziploc bags and freeze them. Then they should keep just as well as frozen bread or butter (good for at least a year). But there's no reason you can't make only as many as you need today, since they're so easy. If they lose crunch, you can always toast them a few minutes to bring it back.

    • @MelsHobbyCorner
      @MelsHobbyCorner 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Reziac Thanks!! I hadn't thought about freezing them. Great idea!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep in mind that they shrink as they cook, so you start with 10 cups of bread, but end up with about 6-7 cups of croutons depending on their size. I love the suggestion by @rez Zircon to freeze them!

    I want to make these! I followed the link to your pricey oil sprayer and both the glass and plastic versions get terrible reviews. Is this really the one you use and do you use glass or plastic?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price fluctuates a lot. I think I paid $16 for both! I use the plastic EVO sprayer and haven’t had one issue in over a year. They stopped making the round bottles and the design is now kind of oval, but I have those as well and they work the same. Keep watching the price, it will go down.

    • @Mariakayc
      @Mariakayc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSaltedPepper great thx I’ll keep watching for a better price than $30 for two. I’d rather just buy one at a time in case they don’t work to my liking. I found you through your onion rings tutorial but man, too much work and I hate the taste of cheap spray can oil!

    • @lynnpelletier4321
      @lynnpelletier4321 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I too thought the sprayer was a little pricey, so I bought one that cost less for 2.....it doesn't even mist. It shoots oil only in a stream. BTW: in my art class we were using spray bottles on a project and it had that same fine mist......cost: 29.95, Maybe they're right! LOL

    • @MelsHobbyCorner
      @MelsHobbyCorner 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using the plastic Evo sprayers for almost five years and have never had an issue with any of them. I currently have eight of them holding my various oils and vinegars. Love them!!

    • @Mariakayc
      @Mariakayc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MelsHobbyCorner Thank you! They let out a fine mist when you press the handle fast or only a stream?

    What kind of plastic is that big?

    • @tbrown4716
      @tbrown4716 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I'd like to know that also, and where did you get them Louise?
      I usually pick up an extra bag or 2 in the produce isle sometimes, but they're much smaller and not nearly as sturdy as that one.
      (I've been known to stash that bag in the fridge to use more than once to make use of butter/seasonings clinging to the bag. And I'd also throw a couple cubes of bread in that jar and give it a shake to get more butter out of there, makes it wash easier, too)

    • @galebee
      @galebee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like a bag for a waste basket. That's the only kind of bag you would get that big.
