It’s just straight up dumb that this is how we have to beat these bosses. Even in Sekiro, you don’t take damage while blocking. Do they actually expect the player to learn the exact timing of 8 swing combos in order to avoid being pummeled to death? It’s just dumb.
thx but at phase 2 boss kils spectre in 2 hits and then firea attack one shots me cant dodge, block or parry, Love this game but that boss is just wrong for not fast weapons
The legion arm used in the video will block him if you save it only for that power move, but if you do have a double dodge you can roll to the left or right as well to keep from a lot of those hits (don’t dodge back).
@@NatetheGr891 I just now defeated him, staggered him just before his fire attack, dodging to left maks gim easy only that fire attack was killing me before
Lol had trouble only with his flame foul attack. Best thing to do is to run when he buffs. After about 3 attacks start dodging into him for the rest of attacks!!! U will end up behind him every time u dodge. Gives u breathing room and it's not so frantic!! If u can time the dodges it trivializes that move set!! 💯💯💯 good luck. Took me a min to wax him up.
Plus use the agies legion arm. Blocks love and does over 300dmg!! Has to charge for next explosion and don't hold it out cause the longer u hold it the faster it drains!! 💯💯💯
Thanks for the video, using the throwing objects (which I always forget), was a game changer for me. I also used the Friendship Wishstone at beginning of second phase, which allowed the Spector to survive the entire fight. I also saved my shock grinder for the second phase after throwing consumables, this made short work of Romeo. Using 5 x Throwing Cells and 3 x Saw Blades in combination with Spector attacks took almost 50% of his HP bar. Using a Shot Put subsequently puts him instantly into a stagger phase, applying a few attacks before the stagger attack put him at ~25%. Fable Attack as he's getting up would be ideal here for even more damage, but I forgot. Applied shock grinder here instead. Was unlucky he targeted me instead of Spector with his Berserk attacks after he got up, but if you're not good at deflecting you can kite him and roll most of the attacks if you are light, and just heal up after. After berserk phase, it's pretty easy to side step his attacks and stab him in the back until he's dead.
The problem is not with the bosses, rather its the combat system. Both the parry and dodge mechanics are not well polished unlike sekiro and bloodborne.
Oh thanks this is how i defeated him. Finally 4 days trying. I kept using the box that restored specter hp, and that was wrong . The secret is to beat first phase as fast as possible
been trying at this one for almost a day, but kept falling short second phase. that fire dance is annoying as hell and no joke, so thank you so much! adding throwables surprisingly did the trick :)
The method I have found that works for dodging that attack is to sprint away and scream for your life at the same time If you lvled vigor to 15 you should have just enough stamina to escape
This boss is cancer. 1st Issue is why can't we respec until after this boss? Respec should be available in the first couple chapters imo I feel like with what I was going for i'm let down... 2nd issue is why is the skill ceiling of this boss way harder than anything previously by a country mile.. 3rd issue is why is romeo so unbalanced.. get through the first phase and have 6-7 pulse cells left every time then before I even get romeo to half i'm out. What kind of balancing is that?
Developer made you to master main mechanic in the game, that is perfect block mechanic. The timing isn't that hard for the bosses. You just need to be patient to learn the timing and pattern than wasting your sanity by farming or cheesing with throwable like that.
Great video and perfect way to counter this annoying boss. I'm finding that most bosses I encounter, I'll have to "cheese" in some way. Appreciate the video!
Thats a massive skill issue. There only two unfair attacks in the game. One is the beam of Bishop and the other is the stronger version of Romeos storm wind attack. Thats it. Oh yea and the whole Dark Rabbit fight, thats just bs
This honestly is how I beat the rabbit brotherhood boss too. Thrown objects thankfully do alot of damage. I am struggling a lot with perfect guard in boss fights and my build is not strong enough still. I don’t know what weapon to focus. I’m in the opera house tho so will be doing this
Gotten phase 2 down to half health 1 time in 30 tries, he proceeded to attack me 20x in a row until I had no stamina left for dodging and/or blocking and then just hit me until I died. Nearly threw my controller
You can also use decay grindstone and decay power cells it legit rats at his hp fast for phase one phase two also I used the fast sword you get after from the chest next to the white mask stalker you fight
Strength build against this bosses second phase just blows. Its like by the time i block 6 attacks i can get 1 hit and maybe, maybe a 2nd one in depending how his programming reacts
I dunno if the developers had "actually" patched throwables but playing the game again in the latest patch, throwables don't make as much damage as they did during game release. Yes bosses are a lot more manageable, but the end game ones, are quite resistant - Laxasia, Manus and Nameless Puppet. Unlike before, I managed to cheese them with just throwables!
1st phase: luck, hope he doesnt spam the 9 move combo with no punish window (he can do it back to back infinitely) 2nd phase: dodge and attack, but also get lucky because theres like 2 attacks that he can spam infinitely that you cant punish. Sometimes you dont get hit one time until 2nd phase half health then he'll just start spazzing the same move over and over and over and over until you die before being able to use a heal flask even if you perfected it all the way up until then
Only got 5 throwables off and missed with 2 of them b4 my spector was destroyed lol. I nvr did well in first half of fight either and had only 3 pulce cells left.. a brutal dodging then hitting bk masterpiece I just pulled off and ime totally flabbergasted at how well I did. 2nd ettempt" And Poor Romeo is defeated with skill and intense concentration lol. Mega chuffed wiv me ol self I must say lol. Legend of this Game lol. Appreciate da tips tho. ✌️💯
I really think you are punished for using the specter. The 2nd phase boss seems to attack more aggressively than I’ve seen when you don’t use the specter. I might be wrong about that. My specter is taken down too fast and then the boss comes at me with those dash attacks which are too fast for me to block.
Just so you know. You can have access to the second vendor even before defeating brotherhood but you need to show him that you have their mark. I sadly don´t remeber where did I get it but maybe try google.
@@neiljones7419 that could be another way. But I had the mark of the Brotherhood and he was trading with me because having the mark means you are approved by Brotherhood.
Phase 1 - First when you enter the arena throw only electric item and cheese him with heavy strikes in the corner.Dont go away in open area because he will move away and it will be difficult to fight. Phase 2 - Throw the fire bottle and shotput and whatever you are having at Romeo. You can defeat him with 2-3 strikes for me it worked because Romeo was stunned..
been a gigachad strength big weapon player and the game so far has been pretty rough but romeo is where i give up tbh i was trying to do it without specter and i was able to solo to halfway through romeo and then he just gets way too aggressive for me to keep up. i then tried summoning the specter, and despite me taking no damage to the first boss, my specter already died. wildly worthless.
Best way i found without all this extra shit was the sheild legion arm literally blocks every attack durring his rush fury constantly attacking for 20 hits. But eith the upgrade where you can hit while blocking. The wishstone that keeps attention. Blitz gridstones.
Tried this method but since I set it up ready, I can't even get past the first phase because its random AF. destroys the shit outta the specter in 3 hits then just goes on a jumping electric spraying rampage on my arse. nighmare :P
man it really just seems like phase 2 is not playable for strength builds :/ ive been fighting this guy for days and you just get 1 opportunity every 3rd attack to get like 1 hit in. phase 1 isnt sooo bad but his spinning slam down punch he does at the beginning of the fight is so dumb, if you wanna hit him after parrying the first slam punch you legit get no time to do anything in time for the second one. i really wanted to go through this whole game 1v1 no specter or items and fight it as fair as possible, but romeo is too fast hits too hard and has way too much HP for it to not be insufferable
Was funny til chapter 4 After this, the bosses was clearly insane but not in a good way, you easily ran onto all level but get struggle 15 to 20 Times or more trying beating the end chapter bosses ... Could be one of the best souls clone, but due to this its just a random game ... By the way thanks for the cheese, but spectre ia IS soooooo dumb that he cant be on phase 2 with more than 1/4 life which IS not good enough to kill Romeo
Absolutely nothing will work for me, idk what it is but Romeo just won’t agro my specter and just rapes me every time, I can’t get throwables off on him either! That dude dodges every thing I fuckin throw at him 🙄
It's much more satisfying if you learn how to counter all his movesets and learn what effects he's weak to and exploit them and then beat him without the help of a specter.
Every cheese tactic I found is: Purchase as many throwing items as you can.
And? What's wrong with that?
It’s just straight up dumb that this is how we have to beat these bosses. Even in Sekiro, you don’t take damage while blocking. Do they actually expect the player to learn the exact timing of 8 swing combos in order to avoid being pummeled to death? It’s just dumb.
My guess is they nerf some of them soon. I agree I don’t want to guard cuz you just take damage and this boss was to fast to dodge for me.
The chip blocking damage in sekiro is optional.
With no kuro charm
This game isn’t sekiro, you can very well play it dodge and punish if you want
Use Beyoncé’s guide to the Blood Starved Beast for his second phase.
perfect guard doesn't do dmg to you?@@shummellgaming

This isn't cheese. It's just being really smart. Great Video
i recommend the wish stone that heals your summon, you can activate it during the second phase if everything goes well you have a full health summon
Good point. Might even be better.
The problem is the specter dies to quickly even after using it

then youre not killing the first phase fast enough
the second phase keeps fucking me
regardless of what i do
Acid grindstone, throwing cells, and perfect guards are how I did it.
Those shot puts INSTANTLY down an enemy with a white health bar for a fatal attack
Been struggling on this one for a while gonna try this method thanks.
Highly recommended to get the cannonball because it can stagger enemies so that you don't have to come close and do a strong attack to get a fatal
As soon as I played the demo I knew this game was going to be so hard
Awesome! I was struggling with this boss immensely. This guide made it very easy. Thanks!
I got Romeo down to about half health, I had full throwables but he’s so aggressive with the attacks!
Most bossfight is BS in this game, I'll take as many cheese as I can.
The problem is not with the bosses, rather its the combat system. Both the parry and dodge mechanics are not well polished unlike sekiro and bloodborne.
Absolut lazy designed trash. Enemies has Moveset Like Sekiro and your char is slower as DS2

Try this out: dont attack and only perfect block till his weapon breaks. This makes it sooooo much easier 👍
Parry all that you can

Gotten phase 2 down to half health 1 time in 30 tries, he proceeded to attack me 20x in a row until I had no stamina left for dodging and/or blocking and then just hit me until I died. Nearly threw my controller
Smoked him on my 2nd try. Me and my specter jumped him 😂. Used the stone that keeps your specter alive
Yea this helped so much ty got him first try and i was surprised i did it first try

I don't consider using throwables as a cheese. they are there and meant to be used. I look at it more as the mage version of a souls game.
thank you so much dude, struggled with this boss for hours and than first tried him with this method.
