Yeah, the "Become High King of Skyrim" mod isn't exactly the most lore friendly, but in addition to becoming High King you get your own castle/city complete with a portal to Sovngarde, a captured dragon, the eye of magnus, an inn that features characters like Umbra, several OP weapons and armor sets, and more. Again, not the most lore friendly, but definitely worth a go.
If there is one thing I want? A player home that is located in Hermaeus Mora's realm. With that kind of theme to it. An Apocrypha player home that is given to you after you complete the Dragonborn quest would make me so happy. The ones I've seen that have tried that haven't really made me too interested. Also I want a player home that includes shrines of Azura, Mephala, and Boethia as well, and Auriel while we're at it. Because blessings are awesome.
Apocrypha and its textures, hell, basically all of the Dragonborn stuff are highly underused by the modding community so far. We've had tons of mushroom houses and the like, but Dragonborn added so many things. Especially awesomeness that Apocrypha has in it. Pathways that move like they are alive, the endless sea of black, the nightmarish sky... Apocrypha would be a great place for a player home.
I think we need a separate video for good _small_ player homes. Every time I see a good player home mod, I get instantly disappointed when I find out it has a huge "hidden" underground area. That's stupid, let's not have that in every single mod please. I really liked the upgradeable breezehome, until I saw the hidden lair part. How about a simple cabin once in a while guys?
Oddly, the cabin from either immersive college of winterhold or college of winterhold improved(don't know which, have both) is rather nice on this front. Not an excessively small house, and you have to teleport there by a teleport orb hidden behind a false wall, but not colossal, and the cellar is actually the right size for a cellar. The stairs are a trip, though.
Agree (although I do love the large homes too) but yeah a small well done cozy cottage once in a while is nice too. My favourite smaller type home is Waterview. It's such a cozy cottage home and even adds tons more food and crafting options as well as an annex for your followers. Particularly love the new herbs and food options it adds (you can make tea and coffee, sit down to a meal at the table, weave material on a loom etc, etc. It also comes with a small piece of land for growing food and alchemical ingredients. Very rustic and picturesque. Everything you need in a cozy cottage. There's one for Skyrim and one in Cyrodil.
Dara Byrne ...It hasn't remotely been a bad year for modding. Are you an idiot? Not to mention that even IF 2016 had been a bad year for house mods, that doesn't suddenly exclude the other 4 years that Skyrim has been out and been receiving house mods, 3 of those years have happened after this video was released by the way.
pretty nice houses, sadly you left out a really good one called Riverwood Lodge.. But knowing you,,, you already covered that ages ago im sure! LOL Love your videos keep them coming! :D
Its been a long time sense I've watched your videos. I'm happy to see you still doing youtube I hate seeing youtube accounts that have like 100k subscribers but the account is abandoned so yeah. Hope you keep doing TH-cam for a long time 😄
Reapers: The Dark Tower also includes two torture victims, one of which I know you can actively torture [I set him on fire in a coffin-thing a couple of times] and he never dies. Just grunts and stuff. Also, be warned if you're not into this kind of stuff, there is a VERY scantily clad woman in the home, as well as two books on your bedside...one of which is basically pornographic with nude images of medieval women, another is a rape story. So...downloader beware. Edit: I wanted to say I didn't know about the books or naked woman when I tried out the home. I like dark, sinister stuff, but the books took it too far. [I don't mind the nudity though]
+Rookane Well Ive been on the internet for too long to use the phrase "this has gone too far". :D Few weeks ago I thought there is nothing that can shock me anymore until I found one music video that is... well I prefer not to use words for it.
4 years too late to respond... But i dont care. Dragon cliff was a neat place, if not a bit laggy. Soul blade castle is my currently favorite mod because of all the different places and access to literally everything, and fully upgradable. Not to mention an epic vault for all your cool collectibles and potential badass dragon to guard it.
I'm a big fan of Kagrenac's Instant Fortress, it's one I keep coming back to even after trying other homes. It's a magic tower that can be collapsed into a cube (dwemer lexicon) and by activating it in your inventory you can place it almost anywhere. All crafting stations, tons of storage, a magic jukebox, and space to hire guards, a chef, 2 guests, and a spouse. My favorite feature is the ring that teleports you to the tower and back. The lighting could be better and I'd love to see it updated a little but it's so well laid-out that I still highly recommend it.
I didn't played Skyrim for like a year, I spent over 1000 hours in this game. But now, looking at all this awesome mods there is only one thing to say... FUS RO DAH!
Aemers Refuge Continued is by far the most well designed house mod I've ever used. I especially like the abstract and asymmetrical feel to the layout of the house. I was sad to find it was not on the list, but the mod is't too popular, i suggest you check it out if you like a balanced spacious home with many practical features.
If you're looking for even more home mods you can find a link to our player homes playlist in the description! Thanks for all the comments, kind words and suggestions! :)
Do you know if you can now bring companions aboard the Dev Aveza? I never liked the fact that I couldn't have my companions aboard or inside of it... =(
***** I tried that before and it didn't work... Lydia would always disappear after I came back from adventuring... =( I just want this ship to be nav-meshed already... =(
this game with mods is so huge, i can never finish it, mmorpgs also never finish but they are just grinding but this game give new experiences everytime. i just feel so lucky to play this game
I would like a mod like the Dev Aveza but is designed to go through water like an ordinary ship in the Sea of Ghosts :) Maybe even make the entrance/exit to the ship deck a large ramp so you can put the Gypsy Eyes Caravan on there :D
I love Lakeview Extended. Perfectly placed around the original manor, it makes it into a small walled estate, with more than 10 npc's, several buildings and a pool. Easily the nicest place in Skyrim for my Dovakiin now. ^^ If you use the My home is your home mod, you can lead all your followers there and make it their new home, creating an entire army in there. :)
After discovering Haven Bag and Rayek's End they have become standards for whenever I play. Now I want to try Gypsy Caravan. These are great and thanks for sharing them. Also another great portable home is FC Kragenac Fortress. It is amazing, usually my main traveling home, but still gonna try the caravan now.
Although the developer has disappeared, I think Tundra Defense has to be the best player home mod. It's kind of a combination of Build Your Own Home and Helgen Reborn but you can choose where you build your settlement.
You should try Levelers Tower. It's a luxurious underground fortress with everything you'll ever need, including a room with many mannequins and weapon racks, a mining camp and an arena where you can summon monsters. It's in the cheats section because there's a lot of cheaty stuff in there, like a place where you can level up freely, and a library with every vainilla spell tome. Another excellent mod is Halls of Dovahndor. It adds a HUGE player home in Sovngarde with great detail and a lot of cool stuff. I recommend you to install it after finishing the main quest line. Finally, if you like immersive stuff, there's "Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger", a mod that lets you set up a camp anywhere. It's perfect for using with Frostfall and Hunterborn.
Darklight66675 uhmm...what? Why is everyone saying you won the internet (sorry, but It's a little late now and my braind doesn't function at maximum capacity).
I really do like the gipsy caravan mod, it's a cool idea, but for immersion, it doesn't really make that much sense... Why would you want your bed outside the caravan instead of inside? I'm using frostfall, can I even sleep without freezing?
What the hell? How did Sutvaka Fortified Estate, Castle Orlok, The Dawnspire, and Sahrot Od Dein all fail to make the list? Orlok may be a matter of taste, and Sahrot Od Dein be more than some people want, but Sutvaka / Dawnspire are incredibly well done houses with tremendous detail and are both rather unique. Certainly all better than BYOH...
one thing that should be noted about Deus Mons is that some followers will continually use the teleportation devices to go back and forth every few seconds until you leave that area
If you ever get the chance, take a look at the Evergreen Hollow player home, it's great for anyone who is a wiccan, pagan, or just like the feel of a druid style home.
i want something like haven bag where you can equip an item in your inventory and you teleport inside it, but instead of it being just a bedroom sized bag I want a castle something along the lines of dragonsreach, markarth keep that I can carry around in my inventory and jump straight into at anytime
RadiationRacoon Because most people don't pirate, is why, and would be uncomfortable breaking the law. You're saying the equivalent of "Why not buy a house when you can break into one and live there." "Peasant."
Dev Aveza is my favorite. Pure bliss to have and ride around in. I'd love a bit more of a quest leading up to it, but hijacking it from the Thalmor is really really fun. The other one I use is Aemer's Refuge. Its basically a far better made Dovahkiin Hideout. The Dovahkiin hideout, with how old it is, is entirely unworkable and causes serious errors to your game. But Aemer's refuge lets you go from any of the vanilla player homes to any of the others. Its huge, beautiful, and convenient. With everything from a deep Atronach Forge to all the Standing Stones collected in one big room for you to swap with. All the shrines, including Nocturnal, too.
Thanks so much for making these videos. I love all the great content people have created for Skyrim. Your videos have allowed me to get a feel for various mods before installing them in my own game.
I thought the Caranthir Tower was an amazing home mod, and was surprised it didn't make this list. Caranthir Tower is one of those underrated home mods that I feel deserves more attention, especially since the author is going to make a new version of it from scratch.
Don't know about you but I found a kid recently called house nocturnia that adds a great player home. For me the smaller the better as it's easier to navigate. House nocturnia was genuinely so fantasy themed it was great
Haven Bag is AMAZING. :D Even moreso when you realize you can just carry it around with you and use it whenever you wish without having to travel to it first.
Hey Brodual, Earlier today, I saw a Player Home mod called "Clearsky Hideout". If you haven't heard of this, it is what I think is the most immersive, interactive, and lore-friendly player home mod created on the Nexus. It even allows you to play musical instruments! :D
I found a mod called Mountain Oasis on the steam workshop. The house isn't the best, but it comes with a follower with an some really powerful light amour, which costs any where from 700-2000 gold, all of which you can take. It also comes with a huge mine underneath it, which has every single ore. This is good for people who want to get a high smith skill, as you won't have to go find a bunch of different caves, or wan't to become really rich, relatively easily. All of this is free, as well.
My favorite one where Breeze-home is upgraded it looks great and there’s a room where you can place your Dragon Priest Masks, Special unique weapons and your Deadric Artifacts
The Dawnspire should be on here. It has a recall system, an auto sort feature and plenty of storage and displays. It also has a soul gem merger that allows you to merge smaller soul gems into larger ones. There's also a unique spell that lets you imprison a weakened enemy in your dungeon. There are other features as well, but you'll need to look it up.
I loved( and using atm) the other dwemer flying zeppelin mod called. The oldest one.It still looks the best one for me,so well designed and amazing with cool features. It's my style totally.Eagle's Nest would be my second pick, but I only need 1 house in order to use and store all of my things.
Sjel blad is a great house mod, the castle is huge you can customise almost anything such as your guards and it has a void chest that autosorts your loot into the correct chest for easy access I'd definitely recommend it. It's found on steam workshop but I'm not sure if it's on nexus
Hm there are actually some cool looking homes I haven't seen yet. But still Orlong's Heart, although not being featured in this video, is still my personal favorite :)
Great video guys. Some homes there I wasn't aware of so I might check them out.
You know damn well Caranthir Tower should have been on that list:)
but i want a Kingdom
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
Get the "become high king of skyrim" mod or something similar
+Rowan Quigley I hope I can get it with skyrim special edition
+Colm Hearty prove able to
Yeah, the "Become High King of Skyrim" mod isn't exactly the most lore friendly, but in addition to becoming High King you get your own castle/city complete with a portal to Sovngarde, a captured dragon, the eye of magnus, an inn that features characters like Umbra, several OP weapons and armor sets, and more. i believe ive seen one on nexus or steam
The Irony, all i had to do was look up "Apocrypha Player Home" in google and I immediately found four.
Hahaha no...
*AZURA'S REALM.*
Bjartholm is the best Apocrypha home mods out there..jeez that place is awesome
I think we need a separate video for good _small_ player homes. Every time I see a good player home mod, I get instantly disappointed when I find out it has a huge "hidden" underground area. That's stupid, let's not have that in every single mod please.
I really liked the upgradeable breezehome, until I saw the hidden lair part. How about a simple cabin once in a while guys?
Traveling Caravan home, Little Keep, Nyrikkl, tanner's ridge treehouse, Elisdriel, Hunter's treehouse, and the one I still use Limbwood Manor
ugaladh "tiny little living" is an amazing cabin, but keep in mind that pretty much every item in there is static.
Hearthfire houses are very nice for this.

I kinda want this updated for 2016
Dont we all?
Yeah me 2😑
Galamere I'm not so sure... 2026 has been a bit of a shitty year 😜
Dara Byrne
...It hasn't remotely been a bad year for modding. Are you an idiot?
Not to mention that even IF 2016 had been a bad year for house mods, that doesn't suddenly exclude the other 4 years that Skyrim has been out and been receiving house mods, 3 of those years have happened after this video was released by the way.
RaithSienar I meant in general 😂
You should try becoming one of those people who review products on tv. Your voice would be good for that.
Amazing as usual, Brodual!
the best house ranking i ever see, incredible!make more please
Elysium Estate is my fav home. Decent sized, beautiful interior, good back story all in all, best house.
Same! It’s the best home mod out there
Everytime i end up on brodual I end up downloading 4 to 5 mods right away!
+Soul Mahajan hahaha, same here
+Soul Mahajan ahahah, same.
pretty nice houses, sadly you left out a really good one called Riverwood Lodge.. But knowing you,,, you already covered that ages ago im sure! LOL Love your videos keep them coming! :D
The Caravan is one of the most creative mods I've ever seen.. amazing mod
My favorite Playerhome mod is Build your own Home. Its Hearthfire for free !
plus, it it's done far better than hearthfire ^^
Haven Bag just seems like a great place to have if you don't wanna go to your house over and over to drop some crap off
4:27 way to use the LOTR Elvish writing lol
that little caravan is lovely, i never get bored when travelling in skyrim
so someone made the advanced bag of holding found in home brewed D&D? SIGN ME UP!
Its been a long time sense I've watched your videos. I'm happy to see you still doing youtube I hate seeing youtube accounts that have like 100k subscribers but the account is abandoned so yeah. Hope you keep doing TH-cam for a long time 😄

Thanks for the heads up
bro its so cringe that the one evil home mod i'm most interested in legit has porn inside of it. this modding community is disgusting
I'm glad to see the Haven Bag get covered. For me its one of the top 5 mods that I can't play without anymore.
4:30 The girl on the painting though!
+Sky Lord Panglot Skyrim has gone too far...
+Rookane Well Ive been on the internet for too long to use the phrase "this has gone too far". :D Few weeks ago I thought there is nothing that can shock me anymore until I found one music video that is... well I prefer not to use words for it.
May I know the music name :P?
I wouldnt even call it music and I dont really remember the name. Its kinda gross and its something you really dont wanna see.
Sky Lord Panglot Okay!
I am working on a castle home and town mod and this video really helped me see what I need to do to succeed
Drinking game, every time he says "home" you'll take a shot
be drunk by the end
Have you guys tried Dragon Cliff Manor? Or Sjel Blad Castle?
AmandaJoyMusic no
4 years too late to respond...
@@tiddlez3948 sjel blad >>>>
I love your songs btw ❤
The haven bag reminds me of that spell Hermione used to carry around all the shit they needed to find the horcruxes.
I'm a big fan of Kagrenac's Instant Fortress, it's one I keep coming back to even after trying other homes. It's a magic tower that can be collapsed into a cube (dwemer lexicon) and by activating it in your inventory you can place it almost anywhere. I dislocated my neck, how do i fix it?
mdevilb Yeah i tried but it only got me aids.
Did you try eating rat poison, that worked for me.
None of these work what I always do is take a shower and at the same time tightly hold onto a plugged in toaster
Richard Casillas Thank you, fuck! All these other idiots were just wasting my time.
Anytime
Wow how has Brodual only have 70,000 subscribers?... He deserves way more than that.
I didn't played Skyrim for like a year, I spent over 1000 hours in this game.
But now, looking at all this awesome mods there is only one thing to say...
FUS RO DAH!
"Build you own home" - my first home
Sjel Blad Castle? it adds so much to the game, in a addition to being an awesome castle.
Nice to see someone mention it, it's ONLY weakness is that it's TOO gigantic and detailed. Nice weakness
Love your videos! Straight to the point and simple
Can you do an updated version of this?
Could you please put subtitles on your video?
Turns out Followers DO work inside the Dev Avaza now... =) Just thought I'd let you all know that...
check out hobbit hole
its pretty damn cool
I was surprised Halls of Dovahndoor was not on the list.
I love the haven bag! :D. I personally really love though is the Leveler's Tower but that's just me ^-^.
I really love halls of dovahndor
this game with mods is so huge, i can never finish it, mmorpgs also never finish but they are just grinding but this game give new experiences everytime. i just feel so lucky to play this game
I would like a mod like the Dev Aveza but is designed to go through water like an ordinary ship in the Sea of Ghosts :) Maybe even make the entrance/exit to the ship deck a large ramp so you can put the Gypsy Eyes Caravan on there :D
Try the Gokstad (Hope I spelt that right) sailable ship. Other than that last part it is what you want.
I love Lakeview Extended. Perfectly placed around the original manor, it makes it into a small walled estate, with more than 10 npc's, several buildings and a pool. Easily the nicest place in Skyrim for my Dovakiin now. ^^
If you use the My home is your home mod, you can lead all your followers there and make it their new home, creating an entire army in there. :)
Does anyone know what the player home in the thumbnail is?
After discovering Haven Bag and Rayek's End they have become standards for whenever I play. Now I want to try Gypsy Caravan. These are great and thanks for sharing them. Also another great portable home is FC Kragenac Fortress. It is amazing, usually my main traveling home, but still gonna try the caravan now.
Tardis in a bag
That Haven-Bag mod is very reminiscent to the Haven Bag in Wakfu/Dofus where you can build a house in a haven-bag and customize it
Great houses, I AM MOTHERFUCKING DRAGOINBOOORN I WANT THEM ALL!!!
amen
good luck with that framerate lol
Although the developer has disappeared, I think Tundra Defense has to be the best player home mod. It's kind of a combination of Build Your Own Home and Helgen Reborn but you can choose where you build your settlement.
Which of these are the most lore friendly also how big is Rajeks end?
Would of thought Elysium Estate would be in here, oh well.
Pinewoods Cottage and Dwemer Aquarium
Two more AWESOME house mods!
With #4, does it send you back to Helgen and wipe all your skills if you don't have a warhorn?
Darklight66675 You win.
Shows over everyone, you can go home now.
ElliotKeaton
I agree. He has won the entire internet.
Moninja92 I... I won? I won! Does this mean I have to go outside?
Darklight66675 uhmm...what? Why is everyone saying you won the internet (sorry, but It's a little late now and my braind doesn't function at maximum capacity).
+Teodor Gabriel Nedelea Romani pe aici?
Amethyst Hollows Dream World is one of my personal favorites. The Old Oak is great too.
Brodual This video is amazing. Nice job guys Love all your mod videos.
AHO and The Field Lab 2. Both are beautiful and have unique atmospheres.
no sjel bald castle? list is invalid lol
Rayek's End is my favorite, very well done!
I really do like the gipsy caravan mod, it's a cool idea, but for immersion, it doesn't really make that much sense... Why would you want your bed outside the caravan instead of inside? I'm using frostfall, can I even sleep without freezing?
The beds that come with it don't keep you warm enough, but you can pitch a tent near it's fires and stay nice and warm. :)
FrostRyder ok, thanks
i love frostfall! amazing mod!
Thanks for uploading, it really added to my list of mods that could make the game more enjoyable.
Perhaps Brodual hasn't tried them out? Request them to Brodual.
What about Caranthir Tower!
I thought Caranthir was undergoing huge revision that wasn't done and that the author had abandoned Caranthir?
Umm no...
He has finished to mod now Darkfox127 will only be doing bug fixes to it now for more info check his ytube channel under the same name :)
one thing that should be noted about Deus Mons is that some followers will continually use the teleportation devices to go back and forth every few seconds until you leave that area
3:47 Soooo immersive.
this is a great TH-cam Channel and really deserves more
Evil lair of hydra?
If you ever get the chance, take a look at the Evergreen Hollow player home, it's great for anyone who is a wiccan, pagan, or just like the feel of a druid style home.
WHERE IS THE SJEL BLAD CASTLE???
i want something like haven bag where you can equip an item in your inventory and you teleport inside it, but instead of it being just a bedroom sized bag I want a castle something along the lines of dragonsreach, markarth keep that I can carry around in my inventory and jump straight into at anytime
Build Your Own Home mod is sort of useless as Hearthfire does all that and does it better. I think the mod even requires Hearthfire.
TheBlare WilsonPrjct Okay I get your point.
TheBlare WilsonPrjct Wait but, the game can be pirated along with all the DLCs so your point and this mod is still pretty useless.
+RadiationRacoon Yeah... Your point isn't valid...
DizoolGhost1988 How the fuck is it not, you can't tell me my point isn't valid without explaining your reason peasant.
RadiationRacoon Because most people don't pirate, is why, and would be uncomfortable breaking the law. You're saying the equivalent of "Why not buy a house when you can break into one and live there."
"Peasant."
The Reserve and The Reserve II are pretty sweet player homes, too.
But are these compatible with Special Edition?
SHOULD be compatible.... but, it's no sure
wait pc se or console se? se=special edition
STΞΛLTH People who have it
It was only edition I could get on Steam sales. Some reason it didn't give you the option to buy Oldrim? 🤨
I'm definitely gonna check out that gypsy caravan. I like the idea :D
All the shrines, including Nocturnal, too.
the caravan and the nest are cool homes :) and the airship is an awesome idea ^^
Castle Orlok - Eco edition was always my favorite player home. The only issue I had with it, was that none of the beds ever gave you "Well rested"
I was surprised Sjel Blad Castle wasn't on this list, it is a very great home mod
Thanks so much for making these videos. I love all the great content people have created for Skyrim. Your videos have allowed me to get a feel for various mods before installing them in my own game.
so glad i found this video, i had seen deus mons a long time ago before i go Skyrim for pc, and couldnt remember the name
I thought the Caranthir Tower was an amazing home mod, and was surprised it didn't make this list. Caranthir Tower is one of those underrated home mods that I feel deserves more attention, especially since the author is going to make a new version of it from scratch.
This is the best home list of all time!
The Levelers Tower has been my favourite and so has been the Whiterun Mansion.
My favorite house mod is silverstead Manor. Decent sized house not too large and it's in the Dwarven anesthetic which I'm obsessed with
Don't know about you but I found a kid recently called house nocturnia that adds a great player home. For me the smaller the better as it's easier to navigate. House nocturnia was genuinely so fantasy themed it was great
Haven Bag is AMAZING. :D Even moreso when you realize you can just carry it around with you and use it whenever you wish without having to travel to it first.
Love it, always had trouble picking player homes
Hey Brodual,
Earlier today, I saw a Player Home mod called "Clearsky Hideout". If you haven't heard of this, it is what I think is the most immersive, interactive, and lore-friendly player home mod created on the Nexus. It even allows you to play musical instruments! :D
Excellent video, very good voice over work and good home choices. Thanks for making this, there are now a couple of homes I want to try out in Skyrim.
Maybe there should be a top ten castle abodes list? I'd be curious to see where Stonespire might rank.
sjel blad castle and jaggarsfeld are two really cool player homes that are available on both nexus and steam i believe
There are other features as well, but you'll need to look it up.
all of your videos are so fair and well balanced for people wanting different things :)
love the gypsy caravan it's an amazing idea for a home! just brilliant!
The retching rest is easily my favorite player home it has basically everything you need and nothing extra :) I recommend it.
I use Dragon Falls Manor because it's lore friendly and simple, so it's a good fit for my let's play. but eagle's nest looks pretty damn cool too.
Watching this in 2023 really makes you realize how far player homes have come in the last 10 years.
I loved( and using atm) the other dwemer flying zeppelin mod called. The oldest one.It still looks the best one for me,so well designed and amazing with cool features. It's my style totally.Eagle's Nest would be my second pick, but I only need 1 house in order to use and store all of my things.
That caravan is exactly what I needed
Sjel blad is a great house mod, the castle is huge you can customise almost anything such as your guards and it has a void chest that autosorts your loot into the correct chest for easy access I'd definitely recommend it. It's found on steam workshop but I'm not sure if it's on nexus
Hm there are actually some cool looking homes I haven't seen yet. But still Orlong's Heart, although not being featured in this video, is still my personal favorite :)
Skyhammer Hold is my favorite player home mod. It's a giant barbarian hold near Smugglers den.
