great video sir!!! 👍👍👍 PSA seems to be a good ak variant, please do a 30 round mag dump and an accuracy test when barrel is cold to compare accuracy between both variants.
They are available now. Sold out at the moment but they should restock soon but stock does not last long. My hint to you would be check their website at 3pm central time on Monday for in stock options, their new ak74 is even supposed to drop sometime very soon 🙂
Look for them around 4pm EST each week day. They don't list them every day, but they have been available on a number of days since they released them on 07/17.
I believe your arsenal break is US made. On their website they offer a US made and and Bulgarian made and the Bulgarian made one is Chrome lined and less cost than the US made version
If PSA had just gone the extra mile and made their clone with a 103-style thin stem bolt, then I'd def snatch one up. I'm curious to see how Kalashnikov USA's folder compares. (Assuming it ever makes it to production lol)
Rue ridge Lmao you think I'm a "poor" or what? I already have a Saiga and VEPR bud. Just want a PSA to use as a beater AK since they're not as valuable.
That was a conscious decision to not go with a thin stem bolt as well as the additional rivet for the bolt stop. Those were done at Izhmash to save money. Those would have cost more for PSA to do it that way, at least at the moment. Some of the AK industry experts advised them not to go that route for durability reasons.
DAVID FRYE Which experts? Why would Kalashnikov himself give the 103 his seal of approval and export them as military service rifles if the design was less durable than a standard AKM? The 103 that KUSA has pictured on their site looks spot on with the extra rivet and folder. If only they had an FN barrel like PSA instead of that weak 4140 one being rumored...
@@StarCypher Because it was cheaper to manufacture using as many of the same parts and manufacturing process. Doesn't mean that the 103s fell apart at a low round count. 103s are very robust. But some of those changes (such as a thin stem bolt) were not for durability, they were implemented to reduce production costs.
Not all PSA 103's came with enhanced safeties. They ran out of standard safeties and didnt want to stop production so they put on the enhanced ones. My 103 has a standard
Well I got my psa ak 103 yesterday and unfortunately the headspace is so bad the rifle cant close the bolt completely. This was very surprising considering all the good luck I have had with psa. You would think for 1100 dollar rifle it would at least be able to chamber a round before it left the factory. So be careful if you buy one people. Just wanted to warn everyone to check these early production rifles( mine is 1016) out really well before you start shooting them a lot.
@@fieldy-8008 They fixed the issue by replacing the bolt. This seemed to be an early production issue that is no longer happening. They seem to have the 7.62x39 guns running really well now on all platforms.
I have the psa ak-103, only complaints are a gap between the back of the safety & dust cover but yours doesn't seem too have that issue and their not using flat rivets on the optics rail so there is some interference.
@@J44-m8l thanks for the feedback ! I have 300 rounds through mine and no issues other than I had a spent case in the chamber. Not really sure what that’s about but I got it out with the cleaning rod. I’m a Zastava guy myself I have a few but I figured it was time to support PSA. They’re doing great things and also make 7.62x39 now which is huge! I think PSA has good stuff when made to proper spec! They lack in the QC department. Maybe they need to stop coming out with new stuff and prefect what they have
I like the PSA AK 103 but I really love my PSA AKE. And for anyone wondering the PSA GF3 is a very good rifle also. Extremely accurate in just the overall great gun especially once you throw ALG trigger on there. So if you see the GF3s online I would go ahead and pull the trigger. Because the AKE and the 103 are basically myths seeing as they're never in stock. I honestly don't even know how I got my AKE I just happened to run across it at an actual dealership not even online.
@@jakes3139 Yeah like I said I'm satisfied with my AKE I honestly think it's a better rifle at that. A lot of people just like the 103 for its history. I can do 2 MOA or less at 100 yd all day with this AKE. These FN chromeline cold hammer forged barrels are really nice.
Honestly, just from the early glance, the fit and finish looks superior on the PSA model. The pressings in the receiver look to crisper on the PSA. And the Rivets (haven't see up close yet) appear to be of higher quality on the PSA.
The rivet quality on the Bulgarian is less than PSA. Some of their rivets have been mushroomed out too flat. Also front most rivet on the safety side of the Bulgarian appears to have crushed in the receiver slightly. Not a terribly bad thing, but I'd guess that the receiver wasn't as held to as tight of a manufacturing spec as the PSA. But the lack of crisp stamps would also indicate that.
I bought one today(trying to get a 74 and a AKE as well). They have been in stock about 5pm eastern for around 20 mins usually. These psa's are really good I have beat the crap out of my gf3 with zero issues. My gun range has one converted to full auto over 8k down the pipe with zero issues. I've never owned an arsenal but I do have one of the New m70 zpap's with the rpk receiver. The fit and finish is as good on the psa if not better than the zpap. The zpap does feel really well put together and strong but I bet the psa will last just as long. only time will tell. If you are debating on picking one up do yourself a favor and grab it. They are really doing some good things at PSA.
Thank you so much for the comparison! I ordered a PSA AK 103S on the first day they were released. No mag fitment issues with the few varieties that I have (PMAG Gen 2, Bulgarian new commercial steel, Polish new commercial steel, Romanian surplus steel, and Bulgarian surplus steel). Everything looks very nice on mine, rivets, finish, etc. No blemishes or scratches anywhere. One other difference between the PSA and Arsenal is that the reinforcement plate on the PSA (between the grip and receiver) is sized to fit a larger grip such as a Magpul. Whereas, the Arsenal is sized to match the stock pistol grip. On a number of their folding rifles, they equip them with Magpul grips, so it looks like they remained consistent with their other rifles and used the larger plate.
I’d take Arsenal because they’re true imports. I love my SLR-104FR. I’d buy a safe queen but they’re impossible to find and thousands of dollars NIB if you’re lucky
The PSA was looking good until you got to the bolt. That is NOT a 103 bolt. 103 bolt is thin stemmed with extractor flexing outside the bolt head. Call it a Franken AK, but don't call it a 103.
Well the Bulgy was just as far off. Neither one is completely accurate. In general, most people wouldn't spot the issues at 3' away. Bulgy has the hook on the guide rod, but the receiver and rivets do not look as good. Both bolts and carriers are off. Basically they're both solid B grades, maybe even B+ efforts.
What's the word on changing out the muzzle device on the PSA 103? I'm trying to change it out but there's a threaded shroud and it looks welded on. Is it dremel time, or is there only a specific device that the PSAK 103 will take?
gap I notice I don't like though on the psa., I know they're ak's but I guess my OCD is catching it. the gap between the rear of the front trunnion and the front of the top cover. finishing on psa looks better though for sure
How the psa able to have the third stamp marking if that's what I'm thinking ur saying it is how does the ATF not say it's a machine gun like ever other dimpled or scribed or etched third pin position
@@NoblesTx makes no sense if they literally call a dimpled ar15 receiver a machine gun. They even considered the Troy receiver a machine gun at one time if I'm not mistaken an that was just a circle put on there
I have the old century M92. Do the new ones accept magpul furniture? I bubba’d the shit out of a magpul handguard and you it to fit. It was a hilariously stupid amount of labor but it’s good to go! Other than the improvements mentioned I’d be interested.
How did you get your hands on the psa 103 I've been checking my emails hoping it would be in stock when did it get release and I never get notification of that tell me how did you get your hands on it did PSA gave it to you
I purchased the rifle but the secrete is to get on their website, create an account, pick an ffl and around 2:45pm central time start checking the site. At 2:58pm they came in stock. This rifle was from the very first batch in July but that is the only way to get one. Also join PSA ak owners group on fb if you have FB and that will also give you a heads up on future inventory, the email notifications don’t work. Not even a little bit.
Looks great, but not an ak103. Just like the slr it's got a thick stem AKM bolt, as well as the AKM style extractor, and several other AKM features. If being clone correct is important I'd go with KUSA.
Nice rifles comrade 😀 My psa103 runs great. Love the barrel, very very accurate out of the box. Dare I say more accurate than my ar. The cons: those baby sized pistol grip and I wouldn't call it a clone. More of a inspired 103.
@@NoblesTx Choosing between the two ( availability and price being equal) I would still go for the SLR-107FR but it would be close. As it stands I would definitely go for the PSA over the SLR-107R. I hope this lights a fire under Arsenal!
Ditto. Arsenal is just a name at this point. And with rumors of them outsourcing their commercial manufacturing to outside sources, are you really getting what you pay for with an Arsenal?
I have magazines that initially didn't fit my Serbian m70. I guess you could dremel your rifle so magazines fit. But I choose to dremel my magazines to fit. Just another option.
My psa 103 takes metal mags just fine. The only mags mine has a problem with are the US Palm mags which I can get to go in but they are extremely tight.

great video sir!!! 👍👍👍 PSA seems to be a good ak variant, please do a 30 round mag dump and an accuracy test when barrel is cold to compare accuracy between both variants.
Hey do you know when the public will have access to these? Id love to see more videos on this subject!!! Thanks!
They are available now. Sold out at the moment but they should restock soon but stock does not last long. My hint to you would be check their website at 3pm central time on Monday for in stock options, their new ak74 is even supposed to drop sometime very soon 🙂
NoblesTx thank you so much for the great response/tip. Subbed, and look forward to more!
Anytime man and thanks for watching!
I love you for this. I'll wait for the gen 2 version.
❤️
If PSA had just gone the extra mile and made their clone with a 103-style thin stem bolt, then I'd def snatch one up. I'm curious to see how Kalashnikov USA's folder compares. (Assuming it ever makes it to production lol)
You can’t afford one
What's that booklet on your table?
They're similar because the psa seems to be based more off the ak74 and not the ak74m.
Not all PSA 103's came with enhanced safeties. They ran out of standard safeties and didnt want to stop production so they put on the enhanced ones. My 103 has a standard
Ah cool to know. That makes sense. Thanks man 🤘
I wish I would have received a standard instead of enhanced. I just prefer the standard and have never had a problem.
@@AKking530 i will trade you
Both my 103 and my AKV have the enhanced safety.
Oh man hope they fix that fast for you...
@@BingoBabyO They have good customer support. They already sent a return label and are gonna fix it or send a new rifle asap.
Good to hear that! Thank you for reporting it.
Damn that's a bad mistake to let out the wear house. Update on how psa helped u?
@@fieldy-8008 They fixed the issue by replacing the bolt. This seemed to be an early production issue that is no longer happening. They seem to have the 7.62x39 guns running really well now on all platforms.
I have the psa ak-103, only complaints are a gap between the back of the safety & dust cover but yours doesn't seem too have that issue and their not using flat rivets on the optics rail so there is some interference.
How’s your ak doing? I just got the GF5 and would love any feedback
@@Grizzlyman420 hasn't been any malfunctions I can think of and the internals are showing minimal wear.
Maybe they need to stop coming out with new stuff and prefect what they have
Question, since you have so many folders, is it normal to have a tiny bit of wobble or should they lock up tight like fixed stocks?
Does the 103 Classic have the FN barrel? Kris from PSA said only the 103 Premium has the FN.
All the 103s have the FN barrel, yes.
Fairly Local Gotcha! How do you like the folding stock so far?
Between them, I would choose the Arsenal since they have a more proven record of providing quality rifles.
Lol.
Just bought a 103 about 30 minutes ago I think they are still in stock. Edit Nevermind just checked and they are out of stock now.
@@madeintexas1213 The 103 has the same barrel.
@@jonredcorn862 Yeah I know but they're completely different rifles.
@@madeintexas1213 actually they aren’t. They have different gas blocks and muzzle breaks and that’s it.
I just purchased an M+M M10-762 AKM. I'm in love. And she's Romanian.
That optic is sick! Unfortunately for me I can't use due to astigmatism. Wonder if there's any etched reticle ones that are similar.
How has it been holding up?
Good video thank you.
I just bought a PSA AK 103s...Have you replaced the folding stock? I haven't been able to find one to replace the original.
I have an SLR107FR and it's not AK103 either. It is just an AKM based clone.
It’s not a true 103. Who cares anyway? I wanted it because of the 90 degree block and the 74 style break.
You could call it a PSA 103 or a PSAK1 03
How much was it?
If these hold up ill get one for sure
What's the word on changing out the muzzle device on the PSA 103? I'm trying to change it out but there's a threaded shroud and it looks welded on. Is it dremel time, or is there only a specific device that the PSAK 103 will take?
gap I notice I don't like though on the psa., I know they're ak's but I guess my OCD is catching it. the gap between the rear of the front trunnion and the front of the top cover. finishing on psa looks better though for sure
Lighting cut absent on psa bolt carrier
Atleast quite faint
The Biggest Iron good catch!
yes, it is not existent. It is the same bolt carrier as used on the GF3. Same profile as the AK-E minus the nickel boron.
How the psa able to have the third stamp marking if that's what I'm thinking ur saying it is how does the ATF not say it's a machine gun like ever other dimpled or scribed or etched third pin position
It’s ok to have the stamp, just not the actual hole drilled.
@@NoblesTx makes no sense if they literally call a dimpled ar15 receiver a machine gun. They even considered the Troy receiver a machine gun at one time if I'm not mistaken an that was just a circle put on there
The ATF are a bunch or commies.
I have the old century M92. Do the new ones accept magpul furniture? I bubba’d the shit out of a magpul handguard and you it to fit. It was a hilariously stupid amount of labor but it’s good to go!
Other than the improvements mentioned I’d be interested.
You mentioned the price on the PSA but what about the Arsenal? Accuracy differences at 100 years?
There's a slightly different shaped magwell dimple
No barrel crown? They gotta change that
How did you get your hands on the psa 103 I've been checking my emails hoping it would be in stock when did it get release and I never get notification of that tell me how did you get your hands on it did PSA gave it to you
I purchased the rifle but the secrete is to get on their website, create an account, pick an ffl and around 2:45pm central time start checking the site. At 2:58pm they came in stock. This rifle was from the very first batch in July but that is the only way to get one. Also join PSA ak owners group on fb if you have FB and that will also give you a heads up on future inventory, the email notifications don’t work. Not even a little bit.
Refresh the page periodically throughout the day. The email notification didn’t work for me.
They seem to post a few around 3 pm central time daily.
@@NoblesTx this is exactly how I got mine and my AKV.
Properly built AK's should not be picky with mags. Therefore, the PSA is a no go
Looks great, but not an ak103. Just like the slr it's got a thick stem AKM bolt, as well as the AKM style extractor, and several other AKM features. If being clone correct is important I'd go with KUSA.
Great video
Nice rifles comrade 😀
My psa103 runs great. Love the barrel, very very accurate out of the box. Dare I say more accurate than my ar.
The cons: those baby sized pistol grip and I wouldn't call it a clone. More of a inspired 103.
Does the PSA hand guard have the stainless steel heat shield like the Arsenal?
Yes it does
@@NoblesTx Choosing between the two ( availability and price being equal) I would still go for the SLR-107FR but it would be close.
I had a slr-107fr and cr and sold them... bang my head on a wall
😢
I have magazines that initially didn't fit my Serbian m70. I guess you could dremel your rifle so magazines fit. But I choose to dremel my magazines to fit. Just another option.
Is that the South Caroline flag symbol on the side of the receiver?
Yes, hence Palmetto State. North Carolina is known as the Tarheel state or The Old North State and South Carolina is known as The Palmetto State.
PSA 103 , What is the prodused country ?
US
I'd like a video showing the PSA not fitting mags
That does seem to be a problem.
They really only like pmags. I believe psa has developed some mags for their aks.
My psa 103 takes metal mags just fine. The only mags mine has a problem with are the US Palm mags which I can get to go in but they are extremely tight.
No comparison, ARSENAL BULGARIA is leaps and bounds better but PSA is not bad actually a good value.
perfect timing since i was looking at getting a SLR107R to pair with my 107FR but can't see paying the 1300 they want. i'm hoping these hold up and get back in stock soon.
Baron von Baldypants They e gone up in recent weeks. I ordered one a few weeks ago for 1200, they’ve gone up about 60-70 bucks. People are buying them though, many places are selling them for 1300, and they are sold out. I didn’t want to pay it, but I don’t want to not add another ak. Sure thing now vs a gamble later.
These will be back in stock soon but only for a few minutes. The first batch of a few hundred lasted 8 minutes.
The PSA AK 103 have been in stock on a number of days. Not for very long each time. PSA normally lists them around 4pm EST.
So in other words... The Arsenal is better. Got it.
It's a bit sad that the USA can't have the Izhmash like us in Europe. I'm considering buying the Saiga TR-3 (AK-15) soon.
I had a Saiga 12 and an AK and my dumb but sold them both. I wish I could go back in time. Dumbest decision I could have made.
I hope psa keeps goin
You can always tell a new school ak guy from an old school ak guy when they talk about mags. You have to modify your rifle or mags to fit. All aks have their own spec, same is true with mags. 5 min with a file in my magwell and all mags fit.
If I'm not mistaking the PSA is a direct copy of the arsenal
Thanks for the video.......
The South Carolinian rifles ain't that bad. I'm a WASR man, but PSAs are interestin'.
I have a GF5 that I got a few months ago and their quality seems to be top notch. I’ve had 300 rounds through it I know that’s not much but it’s a start. Personally I’m a zastava guy but I can’t knock this PSA
Thanks
Of course, the biggest difference being that one is an AK and the other is a REPLICA :) lol
This is like comparing a ribeye to a roast beef sandwich
My Arsenal 106F is the worst AK example I own. Double thumb? Meet Brass hammer. Sight alignment? Arsenal is a Spaghetti noodle.
My PSA 103 is perfect.
How’s your PSA AKM doing? I’d love feedback! I just got the GF5 and it seems like a damn good build
Ill buy 2 PSA AKs for price of the Arsenal
You failed to mention the PSA has a F/A carrier.
Why is jungle recon reviewing aks now lol ...sub
NICE
Ну и как тебе?
why show something you cant buy?
Are the dimples different? I might have missed it in the video.
