As an 11 year old African who was recently enlisted in my local militia, I approve this message.
"If you're not familiar with AK rifles..." If someone isn't familiar with AKs, they're probably gonna need an introduction to what a firearm is to begin with.

Fun fact: The Prototype AK-12 also known as the "AK-200 series" has been used more in video games labeled as the "AK-12" than the actual AK-12 has.

The coolest thing is that 74 years later Russia is still using and further developing the AK platform. We've never had a service rifle platform for that long, none the less in almost the exact same profile and action as the infamous AK platform.. Well done Father Kalashnikov, well done

One of the best rifles in bf4, glad to see it actually got adopted after so many years or testing and such. It's a beauty
To understand some of the design choices, think about operating a rifle in -30C weather, snow, thick wool mittens.
Also a cool thing about the new magazine is that slanted back part, which works as a flat platform, allowing the shooter to rest the rifle on it more stable than with old magazines' edge.
Its so neat to study Russian engineering. Because of the cold war they pretty much designed everything in a vacuum with the only outside influence being from espionage, which is a really slow way to get information into new designs. So from that, the West and the Russians came up with completely different designs coming at it from different angles. The Americans went for accuracy and ergonomics while the Russians went for cheap and ultra reliable. I hope I can go to Russia someday and learn some of the history of their military arms. I also wish I could get my hands on an actual Russian make AK.

It looks differently nowadays (2021). Its got a new proprietary and overall better stock, a new smaller rear sight and a new pistol grip integrated with the trigger guard. I'm pretty sure some minor tweaks inside have been done as well.
