    325 is an insane price for that. I mean it’s gorgeous and I’m going to see if I can get one similar but that seems a lot!

    Great review! Always wanted to see more reviews of Robert's custom Sak up close. Although replacement of parts won't be that easy, because Robert would hv drilled out the parts to fit the pivots.

      I guess you are right about that. I haven't even had a need to take this guy apart for cleaning so I wouldn't know, but if there is ever any issue I guess I would try to make a spare part with my drill press or simply ask Robert if he could send something my way. I would assume that I wouldn't have to send it in to him though :)

    That's a really beautiful knife.
    I use the can opener for grooming my nails and as a case opener of small electronics devices that are friction clipped together.
    Those custom scales that keep the toothpick, pen & tweezers are amazing !

  • @pcuendett

    Nice SAK. I don't have a multi-tool knife. I have a Cost Portland multi tool pliers with a folding knife. Its not very expensive but its better than all 3 Leatherman's I own. I have a Wingman, Squirt (wire stripper version) and a Micra. The Coast has quality feel to the pliers and a LED light so it can illuminate what your working on which is nice and the light will last 15 hours at 2 lumen. I find 2 lumen plenty when shining at something your working on and in a pinch it could get me home in the dark if out on trail and my flashlight fails. The SAK is certainly a more premium and better option. I might have to get one at some point. Not a fan of plastic so I would be spending big on the custom one like you. Today I decided to re-organize my car gear. It's never been the same since my car was broken into a few years ago and the perfect EDC bag and all my gear gone! So I've been storing some things in the center console, first aid in the glove box and a small bag with tool, batteries, flashlights and get home goods which is too disorganized. So I got the 5.11 Rush 12 back pack and a 9 inch 14 compartment tool tote to sit inside the main compartment of the backpack. Hoping to have all car stuff and tools in this 1 bag so I can easily deploy anything needed and also carry it all in one bag.

      @TobisTings  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Coast sounds like an awesome tool but reading about that break in ... man that hurts! I have a lot of gear in my car as well, even though I already intentionally downgraded some of it. Using your 5.11 backpack like that sounds like a good idea. I use a simple duffle bag for easy grab and go and can use it to stock up my EDC backpack with all the stuff I might need. Its not easy to balance your car gear in a way that it is functional and reliable but without spending a chunk of money and then risking to lose it all to some a**hole who decides to break into your car.

    This video is amazing actually. The 84mm Cadet is my favorite but at some point I intend to purchase a custom model lol

    SOoo you lost a STEEL little screwdriver/can opener/proxy philips head/box opening shallow slide blade/scraper/hook n pull tool/lanyard lock/half-circle carving gouge .. for a BRASS and glass(lol) lump that creates hot spots on an 'easy scratch' handle with no grip and screws to loose?
    Funny what you paid to have that is what someone would have to pay me to use it as a serious tool!

    • @emesser7087
      @emesser7087 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's not ment to be a normal tool. For me custom Sak's are functional art. And if you want to try to build one on your own I can totally reccomend it 🙂 it makes much fun and after one build I think you can imagine where the price comes from. It's a very fair price for the work he put in

    • @danmano478
      @danmano478 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emesser7087 For the customer, it’s not worth it (except snobs). I’m very happy with my original 91mm, 93mm and 111mm. As for “what is the best sak, with the best choice of tools”, this is stupid and only a subject for TH-cam videos to make a buck. You want all/many tools buy the fat saks, or carry two or three thinner ones, you want just a specific tool (metal file, saw, scissors, or magnifying glass) buy the specific model that has it. What a waste of time.
