I found your videos yesterday without knowing spydernox's were a thing. Today i decided my favorite set of SAK tools were the farmer x but didn't know if you had done one. This is literally the exact custom i want. Beautiful. Time to save up and shoot you a message
Wow what a great mod! The Farmer X is my favourite SAK, and although I don't have that model of Spyderco (it's locking and I'm in the UK so wouldn't be able to EDC it) I bought a Spyderco Urban a couple of weeks ago and have been loving it. I was sceptical of them until I bought a Byrd Tern (it's a Spyderco design, and although made in China so are some actual Spydercos which cost a lot more) and loved the ergonomics and easy opening, both the Byrd Tern and Spyderco Urban have become an extension of my right hand and when I don't carry them I'm conscious of how much more of a hassle it is to open whatever knife I'm carrying. Having said all that I won't modify my Farmer X, firstly because I don't think I am as competent as you in that respect, and secondly I like the ergonomics of the Byrd/Spyderco handles. At the end of the day I can easily carry both types of knife.

Happy Sunday Maestro FtS, truly another masterpiece modification by you. I Love the 93mm Farmer X, its the King of the Pioneer series & I have two of them - one silver & one black. I am not a big fan of Spyderco blades but it seems to work well in your modification. I would like to see a 4 layer 93mm Pioneer with a large Clip Point blade paired with the Combo tool from the Compact, Scissors, the Metal File from the Mountaineer & a Wood Saw. The Farmer X is a work horse & really doesn't need the opening tool layer or the awl but could use a metal file & the combo tool to keep it to a manageable 4 layer size .
Hey! Thank you! That would all be possible except that I am not sure what blade I would use for the clip point blade. I've added a metal file to a 93mm before.
@@FittoSurvive a Wenger clip point blade, some of the 85mm series & all of the Swiss Buck series use Clip point blades or a suitable sub 3" sized clip point from a Rough Ryder or similar knife that is not too expensive to utilize for its blade.
Truly an International effort! The best part is the American know-how used to bring it all together for a beautiful finished product! It looks like a jewel...if this build had scale tools I'd try to get them a forest green color & call the knife "pinks&greens"...good job!
That was really cool. It looks like the dragonfly blade was resting the edge on the spring though. Saw a little cut-out, but IDK. If the edge dulls on that spot, that would be annoying. I think those screws would need at least some blue Loctite as well. Other than that... pretty cool.
The Dragonfly was resting on the edge of the spring during assembly because there was not any tension yet. After assembly, it does not touch the spring at all even with snapping it shut. Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻
Stumbled across your channel a while back, I’m very impressed, you do absolutely stunning work. As a bladesmith / knifemaker I’m very impressed with the quality and variety of work you do with relatively modest tools. You have inspired me to try some SAK customisation of my own. One question is how to find these custom SAK scales, pins, tubes etc? parts? Is it just a matter of searching? I have seen a box of diff SAK parts and a box of diff coloured lanyards, toothpicks and tweezers in one of your other videos, are these available from Victorinox or did you just collect them through disassembly of a lot of knives? Hope you don’t mind the questions. Keep up the awesome work.
Hey, glad to hear that you found my TH-cam channel. The custom scales can be found on Etsy or by doing a Google search. The brass pins for the 91mm SAK are 2.5mm and 2.2mm. They can be found on Amazon here: amzn.to/3NosdOF amzn.to/3NrFK8d The spare parts can sometimes be found on Ebay, but I have collected my part box from knives that I have disassembled over the years. The colored accessories box can also be found sometimes on Ebay or on other knife shops selling SAKs.
You can source 2.5mm pivot barrels but, I can not find the 2.2mm pivot barrels. I've seen people drill out the center tools to 2.5mm. There are also titanium scales with torx screws available from China for the 91mm SAK. It has the 2.2mm pivot barrels. But it is limited to just 4 thin layers maximum.
During assembly there wasn't hardly any tension. That is why the blade is touching the back spring. After I finished assembly, the blade does not touch the back spring at all. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@FittoSurvive I was pretty sure that you made sure that it's not touching when the knife is assembled. :) I was asking because I've seen (factory) SAKs where the blade tip is FAR AWAY from touching the spacer at the tip, but when it snaps close a few times really hard, the tip still touches that spacer and damages the edge in a tiny spot. @@miklospinter I understand exactly what you mean. I've had some stock SAKs that would tap on the brass spacer. I intentionally snap the blade shut hard several times to check if it will tap. 👍🏻👍🏻

That would be a Endurnox, an spyderco endura blade on a victorinox ranger grip. Have you ever tried something similar? Would it fit? I would love to hear about your opinion. Cheers!
Hey, glad to hear from a long time follower! I have not tried placing the Endura in a Rangergrip yet. I'd recommend measuring the thickness of the blades first, then measure the length of the Spyderco blade. If those match or are close, then there is a chance that it'll be compatible.
Awesome! I know a couple of people with Rangergrips so that won't be too much of a trouble and I have myself an endura so... Fingers crossed. Thanks for the answer! Cheers!

I’ve done one, a very simple one (2 layers) all is snappy, but the blade don’t stay close ( it can open a little) so a bit dangerous ! Don’t understand what i did wrong ? 🤔
Great job! And beautiful result as usual, stumbled across your channel some days back, and found a new world of SAKs... All beautiful! However... Why only spiderco blades? Understand the thumb hole advantages, but that part profiting out... You know what would be great, in my opinion? A front / top flipper blade! Maybe not easy to combine and make it work good with a backspring though... But for instance if a suitable dimension knife with a top flipper and a liner lock exists you could include the whole thing as a layer... Maybe draming, I know 😁
@@FittoSurvive thanks for the answer! For the from flippers probably the challenge would be the integration of a lock, but you could also place the blade layer in the middle of the knife... Nice! I don't know many knives but in case probably the Civivi ones could be a starting point, some of their front flippers have relatively low profile blades that could fit, and are relatively affordable... In any case, thanks for taking the time to even think about my idea👍
Very nice build. Love the copper with the polished stainless Victorinox parts. So the Spyderco blade has the same pivot bore as the SAK? Or do you weld the hole closed and re-drill for the SAK pivot pin? I would think the Spyderco may be a bigger hole than the SAK. Thanks for your great work and videos.
Thank you! The Spyderco pivot bore is barely larger than the 93mm pivot pin. So I do not redo the pivot bore for it. But, when I place the Spyderco in a 91mm SAK, I do have to redo the pivot bore because there is a significant difference. Glad you enjoyed my work and videos. 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m enjoying watching your mod videos and I’m really wanting to do a 93mm electrician spydernox mod myself , just curios which spring you used from another SAK and if you may know of any other videos or tutorials specifically on the spydernox mod , Thanks. Mick
Since the scales are no longer available, is there another place to get similar scales with the screw instead of rods? Or better yet, does anyone have an Amazon link for replacement screws for any victorinox SAK?
That's so much easier than I thought it would be. Does the knife edge make contact? I might have to try this on a Pioneer, I wonder how a Manbug blade would work.
👍🏻👍🏻 The knife edge does not make contact with the spring, during assembly there was not any tension yet. That is why the blade was so loose. I've never tried the manbug before.
Have you ever made one with a locking knife blade? Have you tried using the locking mechanism from the s series Evo line with a spyderco blade? Nice work as always!
I have not done much experimenting with the locking mechanism. I have seen others use the locking mechanism from a 111mm, so I know that it is possible.
Damnnnnnnn that the perfect one.. That will never be mine coz it will break my pocket.. But I would really love to own one not with all the fancy scale and stuff but Farmer x and the spyderco knife combine.. ❤️
Wow that's pretty awesome👍 Two questions. First, are you able to rearange the layers to make the blade more centered in the knife, and if so does it make it more difficult to access the opening hole? And second do you think it would be possible to modify a Victorinox One Handed Trekker in a similar fashion? The OHT is my EDC knife and I love it but the Victorinox steel does dull a little quick with heavy use and though the partial serrated blade does still get the job done it might be pretty neat to replace the blade with a Spiderco blade of hard wearing steel.
Thanks!! Yes, the tools can be rearranged. The Spyderco can be accessed without difficulty as long as there is just one layer between it and the side where your thumb would be. I have not placed a Spyderco in a 111mm SAK yet, but I am sure with some experimenting it could be done. I have seen some custom scales for the 111mm too.
Hi! Yes, that is correct. If you want the Dragonfly to be on the right side, you need the extra scissors spring. It can be placed on the original blade spring too, but then it would be on the left side of the tool.
@@Sam-hl6ir Yes, it can be installed next to the reamer. But you will have to do some modifications to the reamer to prevent it from rubbing against the Dragonfly. f2scustoms.com/builds-165-225/build-205
Thanks for explaining. Last question: Did you bend the spring on this build next to spyderco blade? The spyderco blade base is like 1-2mm smaller than the scissors or original blade base. Even without any cutting, the spyderco blade is already loose when closed.
It was just the way that it was ordered. The guy ordered 2 knives. One with the awl and one without. I may post a video of both of them here on TH-cam later on. I posted a picture of them on my Instagram account.
That one is awesome!! I would love to try this out on my Pioneer X. You said an additional spring is needed. Can you tell where to get a spare 93mm spring? Feeling like I have been searching the whole internet. Thank you!
@@FittoSurvive Sorry to bother you.. Is there like a spar part shop or do I need to sacrifice another Pioneer X oder Farmer X just for the scissor spring?

@@FittoSurvive thanks for the answer! For the from flippers probably the challenge would be the integration of a lock, but you could also place the blade layer in the middle of the knife... Nice! I don't know many knives but in case probably the Civivi ones could be a starting point, some of their front flippers have relatively low profile blades that could fit, and are relatively affordable...
In any case, thanks for taking the time to even think about my idea👍
me gusto mucho, donde consigue tantos repuestos.
Thank you! I had to order a whole knife and take it apart for the parts. 🫣
Nice job! Love and hate these vids! They make me more anxious for mine to be ready! Great things are worth the wait though.
Thank you! 🤣🤣 That is funny. 🙃
I’m enjoying watching your mod videos and I’m really wanting to do a 93mm electrician spydernox mod myself , just curios which spring you used from another SAK and if you may know of any other videos or tutorials specifically on the spydernox mod ,
Thanks. Mick
Glad to hear that. I used the scissor spring for the Dragonfly blade.
Would love to own this! Would a pocket clip be possible for a 93m?
Thanks. Yes, pocket clips can be attached. 👍🏻
Do you have a website? Your work is amazing
@@mattf0509 Yes sir! www.f2scustoms.com
This is beautiful. Is this copper treated to avoid tarnishing? I would love to order something from your site if you are still selling.
The copper is not treated as far as I know. I do accept custom orders. But my waiting list is about 44 weeks.
Since the scales are no longer available, is there another place to get similar scales with the screw instead of rods?
Or better yet, does anyone have an Amazon link for replacement screws for any victorinox SAK?
These scales are still available on Etsy. Search for W3rktrieb.
The pivot barrels and torx screws can be ordered from DeCustomForge.
Thank you very much! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love your work! Quick question: do you modify the Spyderco blades pivot hole when fitting them to 91 and 93 knives?
Thanks! I modify the pivot hole when I use the Spyderco on a 91mm but not on the 93mm.
Hi, so to build one like this. A minimum of two victorinoxes are needed since you need an extra spring, and it has to be one with cissors, correct?
Hi! Yes, that is correct. If you want the Dragonfly to be on the right side, you need the extra scissors spring. It can be placed on the original blade spring too, but then it would be on the left side of the tool.
Thanks for your reply. The original blade spring usually has awl on another side. Can it be installed with some kind of spacer or so?
@@Sam-hl6ir Yes, it can be installed next to the reamer. But you will have to do some modifications to the reamer to prevent it from rubbing against the Dragonfly. f2scustoms.com/builds-165-225/build-205
Thanks for explaining. Last question: Did you bend the spring on this build next to spyderco blade? The spyderco blade base is like 1-2mm smaller than the scissors or original blade base. Even without any cutting, the spyderco blade is already loose when closed.
Thats awesome, how I wold love to own this ,be very proud of your work 😀 👏
Thanks! I am pleased to hear that.
What’s the references of the Spyderco please ? Thanks !
Here's a link to the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 blade amzn.to/3DVWukb
Was there a reason to not put the awl on
It was just the way that it was ordered.
Thank you!
Thanks! I used the spring from the scissors of a 93mm SAK.
@@FittoSurvive Thank you!
@@FittoSurvive Sorry to bother you.. Is there like a spar part shop or do I need to sacrifice another Pioneer X oder Farmer X just for the scissor spring?
@@Artcorrre I have not found them sold separately, unfortunately. Sometimes you can find some parts on Ebay. But I have never seen the 93mm parts.
@@FittoSurvive Alright, thank you. I will try to machine a piece in the original shape since I don‘t want to waste a good knife just for one piece. 😅
I love your work
Thanks a bunch!
Hey im doing a build on a farmer x and was wondering what size pivet barrels it takes? I think I know the diameter but I don't know the length. Thanks!
It takes 3mm on the sides and 2.5mm in the middle. The length is 14.2mm.
Thanks!
@@paulwright2990 👍🏻👍🏻
Cool as always!
Thank you!
Can you one hand open this left handed?
Hmmm... I would have to say no. But, the Dragonfly could easily be moved to the left side for left-handed access
I was wondering why you took the blade off of a Spyderco knife rather than just ordering a blade?
Can you order replacement blades? Never heard of that before, but haven't looked either.
I need this! So bad! How can I get one???
Check out my website for information on how to order one: www.f2scustoms.com
Will you take orders for something like this?
I am still accepting orders, but my current waiting list is about 48 weeks. Check out my website for information on how to order one. www.f2scustoms.com
Gorgeous!
Thanks!
Отличный кастом получился! Из алоксовских накладок и виксовского ножа получится однорядный сентинель. Лайк, недавно подписался на твой канал.
Спасибо огромное! Да, кстати, из запчастей можно и второй нож собрать. 👍🏻👍🏻

Yay! More awesome SAKs!
😅 Thanks!
can you go from a 91 to a 93?
Certain tools from the 91mm SAK can be modified to fit in the 93mm. But definitely not all of them.
My man, Can Victorinox make your like difficult because of your builds?
Some modders have received "cease orders" from Victorinox. But I haven't had any trouble yet.
@@FittoSurvive Thats awesome. Keep up the great work!
