No other can top this one!
Paul and yngwie or paul and buckethead or paul and anton oparin 😊
Julian Lage and Robben Ford !
This is what makes guitar youtube great again
tired of those unplugged playback, thankyou thats real music!!
It always was great. Don’t let anyone tell you that it wasn’t.
Yeah, man!
You are the real deal! I'm just waiting for more videos of you demolishing the guitar! Greetings from Brazil!
Max Ostro, Andy and Paul Collab in album. Could be disaster! Wow!!!
Paul and Andy, PLEASE do this on a regular basis!
I agree! Jams like this were one of the primary reasons I got into music in the first place.
Once a day tbh
Please please please please!!!!
I think this happened because Mr. Big was playing in Dallas. Andy lives in McKinney and it created a good opportunity. Paul did a clinic at the place that Andy regularly plays at (Guitar Sanctuary).
These two seriously need their own podcast, show, whatever. I’d watch every single second of it. Pure audio gold.
2 of the most genuine chaps who just happen to be wizards of guitar. Amazing. No personal agenda, no ego, just enjoying the instrument and each other’s company.
It's ALWAYS a joy and completely inspiring to hang out with Paul! He's a true virtuoso AND a fan of so much music. Good times ❤
Thanks @andytimmonsguitarx-perienc7391 for making this with us! Your joy and enthusiasm scintillates!
Good times, indeed! 😎🤘🎸
How dare you not even mention Andy Timmons, Andy! 😉😂😂
Both of you are very inspiring and mesmerizing to watch! The rest of us would be happy to have a quarter of the talent that each of you just displayed!
Thanks to you and Paul and Sweetwater for doing this. So much fun. Can't wait for quittin' time so I can get my guitar and steal some licks!
No John Jorgenson? At least sneak in lick from back on terra firma 😂
Whoever planned this deserves a raise....they need to collab on a song ASAP 🤩🤩🤩
Deserves a raise, a one has a future is casting. This was so much fun and I just got to watch.
Forget a song, they should do an album! Fantastic chemistry
@@theharvardyard2356 YASSSSSSSS 🤩🤩
YES!
@@theharvardyard2356 The Line Up will be:
1. Andy Timmons: guitar
2. Paul Gilbert: guitar
3. Marcus Miller: Bass
4. Vinnie Collauitta: Drums
5. Devin Townsend: Vocals😅😅😅
I'm from (and still live and work in) Evansville, IN -Andy Timmons' hometown. I was teaching guitar at a local music store (circa 2007) and giving a lesson to a student whom I showed an Ace Frehley-sounding lick. I happened to comment that while the lick was all over the place in rock guitar, the fastest I'd ever heard it played was on an Andy Timmons tune called "Groove or Die." We gave it a listen, played the lick, and both agreed Andy played it faster than either of us would ever manage.
When the lesson was over, we walked out onto the main showroom of the store only to discover than Andy was actually in the store talking to the owner (Andy was back in town to visit his dad, Gene). I told Andy that we had JUST been listening to one of his tunes and asked if he would mind showing us that particular lick at tempo; he was more than happy to oblige. Both me and my student were floored. A great memory... Andy's an amazing person and one helluva guitar player!
I'm a depressed person but every time I see these guys talk they give me such life inside. The people who have these guys in there lives should be really greatful.
Hang in there champ ✨
@@jonnehayesjr.9299Keep great music in your life 😊
It's impossible to watch this without smiling.
I’ve been giggling like a toddler since they went
“ALL SUPERNOVA” on us!
:)
Andy‘s tone is always killer.
Always
Always
Always.
Andy Timmons has tone all day, and everything he plays is musical. Paul Gilbert is groovy and equally musical. Two of my all time favorites, together. Thank you.
Andy Timmons is such a freaking killer. What a tone and amazing phrasing. His note choices are so beautiful
This is the best advertisement that Ibanez could possibly procure.
The tone Andy gets from that neck pickup is glorious.
You’re not wrong I ended up looking up the dimarzios lol
@@davidramos4317 so I’ve got an Eastman sb59 with the Lollar Imperials and it sounds really similar to whatever Andy has…I think that’s why I like the way his neck pickup sounds so much.
So good, it outshines Paul's tone by a mile and I'm a big fans of Paul.
I suddenly want one. That flat radius fret board! Need to feel that under the fingers… 🤤
Man Andy's tone!
WE WANT THIS AS A REGULAR SWEETWATER SHOW!!!
Seriously, this is one of the best things I've ever seen!
Gotta love Paul Gilbert. So friendly and knowledgeable. He seems to make everybody feel at ease, no tension
Paul's singing each notes he's playing and on point was insane..
Yeah. He knows all the sounds of the whole fretboards
I think I smiled the entire video! This is what the internet should be.
Same
You know people smile all different crazy thing right?
@@dannynyima1781there’s a version of you on every reply on every comment on TH-cam.
@@dannynyima1781 I did know that! Not that crazy really
I can't begin to tell you how cool it was to be in the room while this went on. I'm so glad Sweetwater captured this for people to see how two pros can come together with no practice and make mind blowing music with their guitars.
Thanks for being a part of this, @RobertKeeleyTV!
I saw them jamming at Paul's masterclass in McKinney recently, amazing.
Paul singing over the pick scrape at 16:00 in was just too funny
More of these please!
Paul Gilbert has a HUGE cabinet with all songs ever written sorted alphabetically and by release-date and categorized by chord progression.
WHAT?! Fr?! Where did you see that?
@@virantify I meant in his head 🤣
@@sansubr Ohhhh 😅
We need a Andy Timmons and Paul Gilbert tour!
Excellent!
And an album to go with it!
That would be amazing!!!!!!
A new G2 ?
Andy's Tone is always on point!
Yeah that neck pickup indeed.
I got the Dimarzio Cruiser Bridge in my PRS neck position....it's perfect.@@Bendit1974
I forget who said it first, but I'm stealing it. "There's no such thing as the best guitar tone...except Andy Timmons. He has the best guitar tone."
He’s got the best tones ever
He's such a good rhythm player too
Paul can’t help himself. He is a natural teacher. I’ve learned so much from him since his time with Racer X. Thanks Paul
Yups.
Paul Gilbert is something else entirely...his enthusiasm is infectious.
1:28 Andy Timmons casually dropping the weezer riff
i cant believe i just got weezered by my favorite guitarist
I was just abt to comment this lol an octave lower. I don’t think he even thought abt it.
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMENT
Dear lord, that Timmons LoneStar tone never fails to get loved ❤
Yeah that neck strat tone is so perfect.
Because its a humbucker!? 😆@@DomSchu
And yet it still has the single coil flavour, with the clarity and articulation. Helped by not being over saturated, and I suspect most of all, the person playing it.
Isn’t it a Lonestar Special? I believe it is. Both sounded great every time that I’ve played them.
What are you doing nowadays Mendel? I'm waiting for the next album!
This is just the kind of thing that makes guitarists stop, watch and smile. Two of my favorite people just doing what they love and thankfully we get to share in that moment.
About as fun as music gets. Two giants, zero ego and a genuine enthusiasm to listen to each other to play and learn. What a joy! Cheers fella's
Paul Gilbert is an encyclopedia of song knowledge
Lol, I love how they had their Stairway to Heaven moment in there. And totally embraced it! 😁
The tone of Andy Timmons' guitar is impressive, as well as his versatility, which ended up overshadowing Mr. Gilbert completely.
cry for you overwhelmed all gilberts music
Two good guys who deserve every good thing on the planet.
The best half hour on TH-cam.
The level of command and mastery of the guitar is just out of this world. They can jam perfectly on the spot on any tune, any key. One pick a song and the other gets it immediately and they start a jam... I am guitar player myself. I have been playing for 20yrs and done tons of jam.... but these guys are "not of this earth" (for those who get the reference).
Andy Timmons tone is gorgeous in the first ten minutes.
That wailing strat neck pickup sound just doesn't get old.
Luv and Peace.
I’ve got a neck cruiser in my Strat awesome pickup and even in output with my bridge humbucker. I love this video!!!
This is the best buddy ship and chemistry I’ve ever heard. They sound super good together. Better than G3 or Petrucci guitar universe. Amazing
1000%
Timmons has an AWESOME tone coming out of that rig!
“Pretty good” is an understatement 😅
When Paul Gilbert literally throws everything he knows at you and you can’t be shook. AT is an absolute master at improv
No one would have the guts or the nerve to tell Paul & Andy... No Stairway! 😂 Two of the greats and even better people. Truly enjoyed watching this!
Two giants in a room ❤
Paul Gilbert is the best of the best, Paul gilbert precision can not be matched by any guitarist period.
~No one has the best tone in the world... except Andy Timmons...
- Ben Eller
This what you call seasoned musicians...period.
1:29 andy timmons just weezered all of us
I lit up a joint watching this. And I smiled through out. What an amazing session.
I love how they're both masters at their craft and there's still the slightest bit of vulnerability when next to another proclaimed guitar legend talking about how they approach things. Shows you that no matter how good you think you are there's always an element of feeling like not knowing it all or being caught off guard with something you're not comfortable with and room for growth and learning. I've been playing for well over a decade but still see myself as an amateur and seeing that really re-affirms that what we do as guitarists is a personal journey and there's no road-map for this thing we love
How can two guys be so good, and have so much FUN, at the same time? Thanks Paul and Andy! Thanks Sweetwater More, more, more, please!
These guys need to make a record together. Two of the best.
16:00 PG… so freaking legendary…
This is what two Master Guitar Players look like! Amazing playing!
What a time to be alive
Close encounters of the 3rd kind is the best cadence to finish any jam 😂
Just met Paul at a show. What a guy!
These guys, along with Nuno, have been my favorite guitarists since the late 80s on!! So awesome to see them together jamming. So much style, taste, their techniques; absolute masters in the game!
III Sides to Every Story is a great album, Nuno's playing is just 👌🏻🔥
These two need weekly jams together with a camera for us to enjoy.
15:59 = pure joy
These guys are so freaking good.
Can y'all imagine the kind of tunes Andy and Paul could come up with!? It's always a thrill seeing two of my fav musicians sitting down, talkin shop n hangin out.
PAUL GILBERT IS THE GOAT!
I love PG but Andy's musicality, phrasing, tone, expression and creativity beats PG to the post every time. Andy makes the guitar literally sing, but has all the flash to go with when needed.
Reminds me of Paul and Marty on Japanese TV back in the day, I love this format so much. Thank you. We need more videos like this.
Having both these greats chatting and jamming together is genius! Please, more like this!
This one of the best guitar jams I ever heard online!!!!
Thank you!! Who needs a singer with these two playing guitar?
two of the best players from an era known for shredders. however, the phrasing abilities possessed by these two may be unrivaled anywhere right now. Wow!
Andy is my favourite player, but Guthrie G takes Phrasing hands down
@@enharmonic77 Guthrie is also a master for sure.
One word to describe - "DIVINE"
Yes. 2 of my favourite players in the same room. Andy's tone, feel & sense of melody is godlike. Paulo Gilberto can play anything
30 minutes with a big smile on my face.
Band name? “Ibaneezer Scrooge” 2 melodic players doin’ their thang! 😊😊 PLEASE do more of this! 🎸🎸🎸
The best jam session I've seen in forever. Not just trading licks, but actually meshing so well!
Easily one of the most enjoyable videos I have watched, absolute genius from two mates just having a jam
You guys should do a CD together ❤️. 70s best 👌
This should be a weekly event.
THE NICEST GUITAR VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN! We have to have more content like this! but, why not with an entire band jamming, and talking, sharing thoughts, and way much playing! This is the kinda tv show I can leave tv turned on for all three hours long! If there is someone with this thought let's ask for it!
When they both just naturally gravitated into the Stairway To Heaven solo though! Best of the best right here!!!
You can think you have a great guitar tone and then you hear Andy and realise you aren't even close :) both monster players
This was the most enjoyable guitar playing I have seen in a long time. This is a win for guitar lovers everywhere.
Saw Andy Timmons at a guitar clinic in Beaumont, Texas back in 1992 at a small guitar store, and he was promoting a "new Ibanez". Had a fixed bridge on it. I dont think it was an RT150, may have been but it had no tremolo. He was saying he really liked the fixed bridge better than a tremolo. He played that whole clinic without a pick.
This is a priceless master-class //lesson for any guitarist.
This was sofa king awesome!
This is a blessing from God of Guitars, these two legends should make an album, I mean the chemistry is there
That Light My Fire jam at the end was too cool! Man - over the top! 👍🏻
Just F'ing epic. Two virtuosos grooving off of each other and killing it. This is magic and what makes me love TH-cam. This kind of content is priceless.
Andy Timmons the Tone King!
More of these jams, please! Try to get Tony MacAlpine, Jeff Loomis, Andy Wood, Andrei Nieri, Greg Howe, Steve Morse, Steve Lukather.
The best manner of relaying/exchanging knowledge and skill: relaxed, amongst friends, laughter, focused joy. Proper connectivity.
There are several Andy’s and Paul’s that play guitar on TH-cam. These two are the best.
look at these monsters, incredible
5 minutes in and I feel like I should’ve paid for this already.
Andy’s tone is just absolutely perfect. 🤌🏼🤤🤤🤤
They don’t play guitar, but they are singing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sweetwater I love you for doing this ❤❤❤
Two of the BEST ears and playing talents ever just having fun and being amazing. Yep, I'm good watching for the next 33 minutes.
The musical "conversation" is outstanding; especially the last jam. ❤️🔥
"Andy and Paul, Season 1, Episode 1" (Please 😎) Man, you have to adore that two of the most accomplished players are also so generous and in life-long learning mode ❤
Two of my absolute fav players - can not get enough of this.... thank you.
Are you kidding me?! This is guitar TH-cam endgame. Holy smokes what a treat!
Wow- The knowledge is so deep yet right at their fingertips, on a dime, at will and at all times. That was the coolest jam I’ve ever heard. :) Hats off Andy & Paul. That was sick!
