Nuno gave it away after a brief misunderstanding too, they all got nothing to prove, but this truly seemed like one of the times for Richie to shine! Love the energy
I think it was better that the drummer did keep the beat up like Nuno encouraged him to after he initially backed off. It kept everyone driving and prevented the possibility of some of the improvs from dragging.
Nuno cracks me up man! Such a cool dude! A laughed so hard at his reaction to Joe's sustained note with the bar! This was awesome all three killed it!!!
But seriously, Does Nuno have a health issue? His playing is still at the top for me, but he looks like he toured with Reanna for the last four or five years.I'm sorry he looks like hell
Joe's got so much love for the instrument that he's removed his ego and is always willing to share the stage with guitarist that most players would be too intimidated to play with ! Richie Kotzen was cook'n ! 🎸🔥
Richie was the most 'stylistically diverse' and had such full and wide ranging tone in comparison to Joe and Nuno who sounded so scooped. All in all though, definitely a good jam.
Imo Ritchie is always learning /practicing even though he is already masterful. He probably been listening soaking up country guitarists while on breaks from touring grabbing bits of their eccese. Some stay stagnant/content in their success. He pushes..
Richie shreds but he is actually very blues/soul based. I've been listening to him since 1989 and he never ceases to amaze me, he is always creating while jamming.
Richie talked about taking lessons from a young flamenco guitarist who is friends with Mateus Asato a few years ago. He's more than a cliched 80s shredder.
Poison to Mr. Big to the Winery Dogs to a collaboration with Adrian Smith, with several solo efforts along the way. Ritchie Kotzen is one of the most underappreciated masters in the world. In terms of well roundedness, only Prince comes to mind as being more accomplished in more areas (singing, playing multiple instruments, recording, producing, mixing, performing).
Just look at the guitars and you kind of know what the tone and style is going to be. I thought Richie was so pronounced. Just a maturity to his playing over this style. Love them all.
Richie's playing is on another level, he was a shrapnel shredder in the 80s and has fusion album with Greg howe amazing blues player, and amazing singer, I love Satriani's songs though.
Man you're missing out, it's not too late. Check his first 3 albums if you like instrumental guitar music, he was a shredder like becker/vai but evolve into blues, jazz fusion, rnb, soul and pop throughout his career. Check his work with Greg Howe, Poison, Mr. Big and The Winery Dogs and his solo band. He also sings like Chris Cornell!
that was cool af Richie made Joe bring some funky nastiness but I think Richie wanted that to keep going for awhile - it was starting to get interesting
The three of them were really creative and mindblowing. Kotzen is really precise, Satriani has fun and his mastered effects, Nuno is in between. But I really love them all.
More than 20 years ago I was learning from Ritchie Kotzen’s REH videos and learnt cool licks 😎 He is the absolute win for me! And legend of Satch is known & loved by all. Cheers from India ❤
I hate the idea of Cruises; trapped on a floating city with a bunch of people I may not like. However I make the exception here; trapped on a floating city with a bunch of fans of real music, and some of the best musicians on the planet. I want the Extended Stay package...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I just love this brought me back in the day this is even better than before HELL YES . Don’t want to stop playing this. You got me wanting to dance. So BAD ASS SHREDDING they should call you SHREDDER ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love you
I don’t know who is singing amazingly AND playing keyboards but everyone should. He is killing it man! Holding his with big names on stage. Came for the guitars, and stayed for the vocalist.
No way, so that's the Thirsty Merc guy, didn't realise that, fair play to him! He's a brilliant musician, seen him a few times in tiny dive bars in Australia killing it on the keyboard and vocals!
Thank you, Mikey. That was one of the best things I've seen in a long time. All are incredible. Nuno holds a special place in my heart, but I love all these guys. This video is *chef's kiss*.
One of my most memorable concert moments was having the lights go down, the band take the stage, and a pot light shines down on Satch in mirrored shade playing a mirrored guitar starts playing Flying in a Blue Dream. Beams of light and sound were streaming off that man like he was the musical sun at the center of our universe that night. THAT is how you open a show.
All great players! Joe makes it look easy. I first heard Surfing with the Alien way back in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-eight 1988 and I was blown away! I loved it and I still love it, Way back then, Joe was already a great player.
Great video. Great players. All of them. Including the drums and bass. Still like Creams version. It’s the standard. Clapton plays a great solo. Of course Jack and Ginger. That’s why everyone plays it.
Love Ritchie. My first guitar build was essentially a Kotzen signature Tele. Humbucker double rail in bridge position, and a Twang King in neck position. Very versatile guitar. I can't play it worth shit, but someday...
Now we need Guthrie Govan to join on stage. He's probably one of the best ever to play. But I personally think Roy Clark is best at improvisation and showmanship, and raw talent.
OMG just absolutely BAD ASS my goodness you guys make me want to dance. HELLO YES shred that guitar I LOVE THIS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ritchie Kotzen killed everyone with that Tele tone 🔥🔥🔥
Less gain always cuts better and his hybrid picking!
@@therichbuddha3277 No pick, just fingers

@@AndrewSkinburn Different than his earlier shredding, but still killer.
Richie Kotzen's tone is so distinctive, and he's got a very personal phrasing style too. I've been a fan since the '90s!
Ritchie Kotzen is simply on another level.
Yep, a level beneath the master, Satch. :-)
My thoughts exactly
@@sbonamo He eats Joe alive.
@@edbernardmusic3599 whatever you say...
@@sbonamo That's right.
The great thing that I feel is, especially Satch, is how there's no ego involved. Just a whole bunch of incredible music. Magical.
Nuno gave it away after a brief misunderstanding too, they all got nothing to prove, but this truly seemed like one of the times for Richie to shine! Love the energy
Very polar opposite of vai eh? I met both of them several times and vai is in his own world. I love the dude still
Richie Kotzen > WOW. Saw him live 3 years ago. I was blown away by his very "unique" technic and his musicality.
I saw The Winery Dogs last year and the whole show was fire.
People he’s absolutely brilliant 👍🏻🙏🏻
Just country guitar
Also fantastic soulful vocals, check his record with Adrian smith.
@@EBJorge-ql1iiHi there, applying country guitar technic to another style makes him a bit "unique" in my eyes. But I get your point. Best.
The drummer and bassist are working hard to hold it down so the guitarists can shine Got to remember that!
Absolutely I agree I noticed that too
I think it was better that the drummer did keep the beat up like Nuno encouraged him to after he initially backed off. It kept everyone driving and prevented the possibility of some of the improvs from dragging.
So true man 🤘💪
I think that's Aronoff & Beller respectively!
@@rhondadinkin9473 You are correct! Both monster players!
Richie was great. Really creative playing. Loved it !
Richie.
Little bit of Jeff Beck in there, seems like.
Ritchie Kotzen is also an incredible vocalist. Wish they would have let him sing this one too.
Richie for win...most creative riffs for sure!
No es competencia!
J'avoue avoir bien aimé le jeu de Richie également.
There is no race bruh, enjoy the show.
No
No
Kotzen has a brilliant sound for me - mostly in the fingers and that percussive thumb!
Kenny Aronoff just kills the kit! Amazing time and feel.
Kenny's everywhere lol...love his work .
Wish I liked him more. Just a bland player in my opinion.
No egos here just friends jamming and having a great time! Wish i we could of all been there.😊
Do you actually know any of these jokers?
Nuno cracks me up man! Such a cool dude! A laughed so hard at his reaction to Joe's sustained note with the bar! This was awesome all three killed it!!!
I was just gonna mention that😅😅😅
yeah and then Richi laughing at that was great reaction of both dudes ... 😀
Joe Cheated... he runs a Sustainac 🤣
Nuno was my all time favorite until I caught Richie's Japan concert video right before the Winery Dogs in Japan.
Kotzen's playing here is just on another level, wow.
Richie Kotzen is using his hand to pick. Just like Jeff Beck, keep getting better and better!
Richie was the most 'stylistically diverse' and had such full and wide ranging tone in comparison to Joe and Nuno who sounded so scooped. All in all though, definitely a good jam.
Nuno responding to Satch's sustain is epic! 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
yesssssssssssssssssss hahahahaahahah
Haill yeahhh
Yeah haha
I felt a bad vibe between Nuno and Richie...it seems like they are upset with each other :(
richie has awesome phrasing!
Imo Ritchie is always learning /practicing even though he is already masterful. He probably been listening soaking up country guitarists while on breaks from touring grabbing bits of their eccese. Some stay stagnant/content in their success. He pushes..
Just had this exact thought. Crazy country fusion licks. It's clear he hasn't settled and works to continue improving his art
Richie, for the win. Best tone and phrasing.
Kotzen really impressed here, Wow!
Kenny A is a monster and kept the train a' rollin' with his customary chops. Excellent!
Wow. The absolute musicality and invention of Richie was something to behold. He's looking great and sounding fantastic! Yay, Richie!
Richie absolutely ripped it. sheeeesh.
Richie was the most interesting to listen to.
I just love it how Richie plays those "out-of-nowhere" kinda notes and make them sound so magical
Ritchie schooling those guys absolutely blew my mind. Poison to this?! Wow!
Poison was an EASY gig for him!!!
You realize he had released a few solo albums prior to Poison, right? He had an instructional video as well
He was AMAZING in Poisson
Poison to Mr. Big to the Winery Dogs to a collaboration with Adrian Smith, with several solo efforts along the way. Ritchie Kotzen is one of the most underappreciated masters in the world. Deym, I thought Joe Satriani would school the two, But it's actually Richie who OWNED the stage. That Tele slayed them.🤭🤘
Joe hanging on that one harmonic squeal was epic and hilarious at the same time. These 3 were amazing
I think a Satch/Richie album would be really interesting.
that would be pretty cool, kinda like the albums 'Tilt' and 'Project' with Kotzen and Greg Howe.
Wouldn’t work!
@@realscience948🥴
Ritchie’s tone is eternal. Tele played with his fingers. Brilliant!!!
anybody here and listening in 2024 ?
Considering this was posted 3 months ago… yes

Oh yea
Swift sucks more than anything that has sucked before
Just look at the guitars and you kind of know what the tone and style is going to be. I thought Richie was so pronounced. Just a maturity to his playing over this style. Love them all.
Joe is one of my favourite guitarists ever, but Richie blew them off the stage. this made him climb my list up a few places. hats off...
Richie's playing is on another level, he was a shrapnel shredder in the 80s and has fusion album with Greg howe amazing blues player, and amazing singer, I love Satriani's songs though.
Richie rules!!! But i like everyone!!!
Nuno🤟🏻Awsome
Ritchie works hard at not having predictable licks,a guy to watch, and hear other options from
A lotta talent on that stage and nothing but MARSHALLS

What am I seeing!? OMG! Never thought I see these 3 jamming.
Richie Kotzen Awesome😎
Nuno Bettencourt is right about Joe Satriani he’s a master! I saw him in London in 1992 and he was phenomenal back then on the Extremist tour!

Lot of respect for these musicians. If i had a small fraction of their ability I’d consider myself blessed.
