That's one of the things I love about all the sharp by design knives and the Rosie. Both are on the detent the second you disengage the lockbar.
Yep
Thats always a nice feature
Thank you Dirk for the honest review! I really enjoyed watching it. To answer some questions - yes we do make the boxes in house, it's easier to point out things we don't make - bearings, stop pins and small screws (But that might change, we may make those as well in the future).
The lockbar insert steel is Bohler N360, it's very similar to LC200N.
The front flipper size and position is little bit more about the design and overall aesthetics, same I would say about the low profile pocket clip but we will change that a bit.
The detent position could be higher for easier closing action but with the overall design it's just not possible to move it higher without some other sacrifices, for the Cedar it's much higher up.
The overall idea of Cypress is light, slim framelock front flipper (no flipper tab stick out) that you can hide in your pocket without even noticing it's there. It's possible to open it with thumb (But I would not relay on that as the main opening method).
Thank you again!
This knife is absolutely gorgeous! Your a wizard man!
Thank you for chiming in Sir.
Excellent knife overall for sure. So glad I got to check it out.
Honestly if this bad boy had a regular flipper tab (rather than Front flipper) it would be an absolute 10/10 on my personal scale. Still as it sits its a solid 9 or 9.5! The maker was great to deal with and I have a Cedar Salt on order, which will head your way once it comes! Its so rare a new maker knocks it out of the park like this and im exited that he will be the next Oz, Stang Bladeworks, VC edge etc!
Great video man!
Sweet looking forward to checking out the Cedar.
the milling on this knife is amazing i really like it
Crazy cool.
I agree his milling work is TOP NOTCH
Very simple clean design. It looks awesome. Great video 👍
Thank you.
He definitely makes an awesome knife!
Cool video, very informative! Thing reminds me of a fishing lure with the iridescent anodizing.
Thanks. Agreed it is alluring
Robjohnsons absolutely nailed the color request I had. For a water knife its perfect!
Th is Dirk. I’ve recently become familiar with these. It’s an incredible value is what I understand. Great video and beautiful knife.
Thank you Sir.
Definitely a bargain atm. I bet he becomes massive and impossible to get knives from fast!
I really like that! 1st time I heard of this… pretty cool … its got some Holt DNA 🧬.. but almost looks better made .. thanks for sharing
Thanks. WOW a knife you weren’t familiar with. Finally I did it.
@@DirkWerningI’m slipping 😂..
Definitely feels like a Holt and Oz had a baby!
Looks sooo nice. Definitely would prefer if it was a standard flipper. Maybe he'll come out with one down the road.
Possibly 🤷🏼♂️
That would be amazing!
I LOve... the look of this knife
Thanks
Definitely a gorgeous one!
Shiro's have a similar detent angle. It can be frustrating. Rosies, Hermans, Grimsmos are all much higher up.
Yep frustrating is the perfect word.
wow now thats a great looking beauty lol
He nailed my color requests PERFECT
Looks like a Herman knives
Definitely shares some DNA id say
Wow
Exactly.
Looks like a folding puukko
I could see that
Really nice but just not my style
I get it.
You should check out his new model called the Cedar. Might be right up your alley!
