    Hey! Nicolas here.
    The knife is usually is assembled from the lockside, what happened is both sides of the pivot barrel has titanium screws with some loctite applied, and for some reason the spinning screw came out together with the pivot barrel.
    We already got new titanium pivots with one screw and the other side is all together now, so there isn't possibility to disassemble it like this.
    As for pocket clip clearence I have already redesigned it so it fits most pants better.

      The pocket clip design is ready, but I have to still to program to mill it and actually make new clips.

      I ordered a Cedar last night and look forward to receiving it. One suggestion is that you include higher resolution images on your configuration screen. It was difficult to tell the difference between the finishes. Also it would be nice to see an image the final build with all selected options.

    Glad to see the quality has improved. I had one of the first runs and there was a lot of finishing issues that left me underwhelmed. But I’m happy when newer knife makers improve

    Always good to see you. Interesting knife.
    (I also enjoy when there is no free spinning in disassembly)

    I just received my Cedar from RobJohnsons today! Same honeycomb texture. Fit and finish is spectacular. Haven’t gone as far to disassemble it but I’m beyond pleased with what I got for what I paid. Very underrated and under-the-radar maker.

    My v1 was very underwhelming. Action was... not great. Blade finish to match. Some lock slip. I didn't say much about it because I assumed it was v1 growing pains but I'd be lying if I said I was expecting a grail and didnt instead get an "oh God I need to sell this asap" instead. I also had the same issue with the clip where I actually couldn't really clip it to anything other than my thin dress pants. It actually wedged itself on my jeans so well once that I had to use two hands to pull it out of my pocket.
    It's a GORGEOUS knife and I think the design is sound, but it needs the finishing touches when it comes to being properly dialed in, really paying attention to the final finishing details, etc... somewhat forgivable on a knife that is... well... not in the $500-600 price range. To me, this lands in the "form over function" realm and if someone is into that, cool, but for this much money, even if I'm mostly concerned with form, function is also kind of... an inherent expectation.
    Edit: Wow, I paid $625 for my magnacut version. To hear that this has crept up to $775 already is concerning. That's getting to the price point where almost any flaw is unacceptable.

      Well, "practical blade" I would say "practical" ends at $300. 🤣

    Have 2 upgraded V1s, love them both. This knife really shines in use and carry. The maker is very responsive to customers feedback and issues. Glad to see one of my favorite knives being reviewed by my favorite reviewer.

    16:00 grind looks a little wonky...

    • @Robjohnsons
      @Robjohnsons 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a hollow grind, there is radius and it gets thin pretty fast at the tip. Thickness behind the edge is 0.01in
