So my own expectations were SHATTERED. I did the week of carry, it did great there. Really enjoyed the week. Where it got nuts was on my live streams. The first one I did took 7 hours of cardboard slayer before the edge went. The second one I did went 6 hours and I had to give up, but it still had some edge left. THEN I put a 17° mirror polished edge on the second one and it went 8 hours before the edge crapped out enough to call it done. Insanity.
@knivesiguess The mental gymnastics that alleged knife connessoirs are doing to trash a $10 knife is astounding. Just because you're feeling like you overpaid for a knife because Kife tubers are showing the value this knife brings, doesn't mean this Ozark Trail knife doesn't hold value for a HIGH percentage of consumers.
First of all, I’m not a big fan of “axis lock” nor thumbstuds, but I bought it to see what all the hoopla was about. Based on what I’ve heard, I was lucky to get one since so many Walmart stores are sold out. Mine was the display sample at a Walmart the next town over. It is just fine, in all the usual inspection points (build quality, sharpness, blade centering, etc). Definitely a good “banger” knife for the price. That said, there are other Ozark Trail knives - at a cheaper price - that would probably serve you better in the long run. But if you are nuts about axis lock, then you can’t beat this for the price.
It's a great budget knife. My $14 fake Bugout from wish is just a little sharper out of the box. But it has washers, so the Walmart bearings action is better.
So far this knife is awesome I have a Benchmade 940 my favorite knife waited years to get it. I love it, and I use it as a daily carrier. But I’m a firefighter and I lose knives all the time so I will not take it to work, but with this Walmart knife, I can take it to work which I have and it is great if I lose it, I won’t have a heart attack. It’s already cut old 1 inch and three-quarter fire hose and a seatbelt there is nothing more I can say about this knife It is a great knife looking on TH-cam. I see some people have problems with it. I bought five of them gave one to my son gave one to a friend and dyed the scales of the others so I have one brown and two black ones, hopefully they don’t discontinue these it takes about 20 minutes to dye The scales complete different looking knife awesome.
Just got one. D2 is excellent steel for something you aren't going to hammer on. Next best thing to a super steel IMO. Scales may be a wee bit crude and action not up to a bench made but its a sure winner for anyone looking for a solid utilitarian knife with some very good features. Its certainly all I need and more at an amazing good price. Best value out there.
Ozark Trail 7.5 Inch Folding Knife (the description on the WM site/app mentions the D2 blade). Good luck finding one! My wife snagged one for me. I’m no knife expert, but it seems pretty spiffy.
This knife is Not a clone, similar but different! Too many things are different including construction materials and blade grind, flat grind vs hollow grind. They are comparable but if you want a true clone you can buy one online.
Cheaper than a gas station knife, but doesn’t look as good 😅…. I’ll probably buy one too if I ever see one in my local Walmart. A budget knife that cuts well I’m all for. But what’s with the frenzy? Shop Chicago knife works and you’ll similar priced knives with VG10, T10, etc. I suppose it’s because it’s at a brick and mortar store.
NOT a clone. Wow. Everything is a clone to the fanboys, knife snobs and tacti-cool guys. Pathetic. Anyone with even half an active brain cell could clearly see it is not a bugout clone. Different blade steel. Totally different construction. Different grind. Looks completely different. etc.. Even a completely blind person could hold this OT and the bugout in their hands and easily find a half dozen differences. NOT a clone. I would take 15 of these any day over an over priced benchmade.
Even if it’s made in china? Really? I own benchmade, Spyderco, hogue, kershaw and etc USA knives. Some of the best knives I own are from china. You need to buy what you like and can afford. Quit stressing over where it’s made. USA made is nuanced. Harbor freight tools are made in Taiwan and yet they employ a shit load more people than snap on. If you are stuck on USA made but can’t afford it, buy a knife made else where with usa made steel.
I'm waiting for the 70.2 HRC Rex 121 Walmart titanium handle Bugout to be released this Christmas season for
$13.99 😉.
😂

I think there's probably better viewership numbers for bashing it. I know when I did my hall of shame video the numbers were a bit better than usual.
Only purchased out of curiosity. It's fun to play with.
Great for opening Amazon boxes. Why should I wreck my Microtech, Benchmades or even budget Civivis?

Great review👍🏻, except one thing, that painted blade is likely toxic for food cutting purposes.
I went to my local Walmart two days ago and this was the only knife they were sold out on.(9.7.24)
Been checking multiple walmarts in colorado, none of them have put them out yet.
ima pick up 2 more.
What is full name on this one?

@@patrickdaly5068 am in scandinavians. Hard to find. Just look on some bugout clones that looks good
Well I got one and it wouldn’t lock, had to return it. It’s going to be hit or miss. Good video nonetheless
I don't see it being a clone, the bugout heavily inspired this knife but not a clone.

Is the world going nuts, it's a $10 knife, nothing special, jeez
a homeless can appreciate the price to quality ratio.
