Ok Thanks, m so used to IND concrete homes that I am not sure when and how long would wood structure last, how about the piping or electrical issues that are hidden, not visible etc..
Hi Navjot...I love watching your videos and I think I started following you from 2019 I think....So I loved your journey and where you are today. Totally inspiring for people like me who have just arrived in Canada. Can you make some videos around land investment also. I have a very low risk appetite and I want to put money in land rather than buying a house and locking my life in mortgage. I would love to know about land investing in Canada and how can that help in building my wealth. Hope you will consider.
Shame on scammers like Nav. if ever met in-person at events, he deserves a slap on the scam he is promoting and how people like him are ruining society for his own monetary gains
Awesome video! Great work But I would say it’s a huge investment and not everyone home owner can afford it. I think city should lower the expenses or their strict standards considering housing crisis in the market
Construction items and Labor very expensive.Items you can import from India . Kitchen Counter Tops, Bathtubs Pipes and Faucets Flooring Vinyl Roofing - Metal and Fibre glass Hydro meters and switches. Heating Furnaces and Stoves.
Building Codes Ontario are online you can check. They specify on materials not brands. If any inspector is rejecting due to branding , please report him to the City. Yes , some critical materials like Heating Furnaces and stoves may need safety stamps. But these days all safety regulations are ISO and internationally recognized.
@@ghungroo3850 Not a Great Idea since lot of China and India products does not meet standards of CSA and OBC. Also, its not worth it getting materials shipping from outside Canada for a single Basement.
The contractor is not a professional in the building codes. He's providing most information incorrect. You need to have a licensed designer (BCIN)/architect or professional engineer along with him to shed light on the Building Code Requirement. Also, Ontario Building Code governs all the rules, municplaities just follow them except for the zoning by laws.
Very useful video. The steps you laid out are particularly helpful in understanding what a new construction engagement might look like.
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely liked this video. Good and helpful. Wish more landlords would build proper legal basements or rental units.
Glad you liked it!

Woww! Very informative video..

I always had this question - Can we have a basement entrance via the garage. Are there ways around making it legal ? Hope Harji can answer this :)
Garage entrances won’t make the unit legal (from city point of view) Has to be separate.
Thank you for being open about the $$s
You’re doing videos out of box these days great job nav
Thank you 🙌
Can we make legal basement suite in townhouse in Calgary?
Depends on the entrance and floor plan.
Construction items and Labor very expensive.Items you can import from India .
Kitchen Counter Tops,
Bathtubs
Pipes and Faucets
Flooring Vinyl
Roofing - Metal and Fibre glass
Hydro meters and switches.
Heating Furnaces and Stoves.
Not recommended. You will end spending more money if these things aren’t per city requirements / building code and the inspection fails.
