Words of wisdom. Today I watched a video of a woman making supper. The sight of all those pots on top of the stove took me back. I could almost smell the food she was cooking. I lost my Wife 3 years ago. For 42 years we were quite the pair. We laughed and talked, and fought a few times also. Along the way we built this house into a home. Raised a couple kids. But today I smelled her cooking, a simple thing. It was just my imagination I guess. Sometimes it so hard to just keep on. Being lonely has got to be one of the hardest things to experience. Tomorrow I will see my two Granddaughters, but tonight it’s so quite. It is the simple things that make up a life. I can still smell her cooking, how much I miss her. But tomorrow I will see my two grandkids. Yes, the simple things add up to a life

**** Melinda, I am a surviving widow of someone that ended their own life. "The simple things" seem so mundane when you lose someone that you thought you'd live every breath with. He was a gulf war veteran and did this in front of me while our children slept. I was only 23 yrs old. I"m 53 now. I've never remarried... and just 4 yrs ago I learned to live again when I moved into a van. I bought my first guitar a week ago.... I have many poems. And I carry my husband's flag with me everywhere I go. I know I live for him now. I am making memories I will bring with me when I finally meet him in heaven, I've learned to find awe in nature and to enjoy the most simple things again.---- thank you so much for your honesty..... maybe one day our paths will cross when my van is on the hwy through the west. Another beautiful song from a beautiful person. My youngest brother Leslie took his life after her turned 16. My oldest brother Monty found him and never mentally got over it. He had a heroine habit due to longstanding back pain, and in 2013 he overdosed and died. My remaining living brother Dale lived in constant depression loosing both brothers. He was my anchor in life. Dale was the one who went to all the funerals with me inclunding my son Sean's funeral who died January 23rd, 2020. On October 1st that same year, Dale ended his life. I remember going to his funeral feeling lost and looking for him because HE was the one who was always by my side at funerals but now he is gone. Now I live with the simple things like my granddaughter who is 11 now. I would NEVER want her to experience a fraction of what my heart has dealt with. Right after my son Sean died, Covid hit us and we were all locked down. I tried to talk to somebody but there was nobody available so I swam alone. The only thing that carried me was art. I painted nonstop and still do. Art is my saving grace and people like Melinda make life worth it for just one more day, one more minute and sometimes one more second.Melinda is a beautiful soul in our universe 💜💜💜

The hardest thing I’m facing is hitting the reset button on my friendships and where to live. I need to rebuild my friendships to be with healthy, loving characters. I keep worrying and catastrophising about where to relocate and restart, I sometimes feel so alone I struggle to go on, there are not enough older people in my life to help remind me rough times come and go. So thank you for just being you. It’s a healing and reassuring thing to have a older wisdom to keep pushing through. You lift my spirit and help push us through. I love you too. And everyone reading. Suicide may be the most fundamental philosophical question we may ask. Albert Camus’s ‘The Myth of Sisyphus’ helped me deal with it by understanding resilience and perseverance as tools for making sense when emotions fueled by despair can run wild and untethered. Training your heart is not much different than working with a spirited canine or horse and turning that troubled spirit into a partnership that becomes something greater than the sum of their parts. ☮

Simple things. My first grand child was born on Tuesday, an image of her mother. I am seeing an old college friend whom I have not seen since 2018 and we're going to a library book sale tomorrow. After a hard day of medical treatment, I get to come home and rest. My handsome black cat doesn't leave my side. Simple things. I suffered a brain injury last year and I am in rehab. This week was challenging. I am going for a test on Monday to screen for cancer. I am not nervous.. (yet), results Wednesday. I lost a daughter to estrangement and a husband because of my injury. But I am not alone. I have friends. I have (some) family.... and I have you! I get so excited when I see you have posted and today's video was by far, the most impactful and poignant video. Thank you for the song and your beautiful spirit. I'm glad you stayed. I'm here today. I'm gonna give it another day, each day and live life to the fullest. Many blessings to you❤

Sometimes someone just needs to know that someone else felt as low and desperate and despairing as they feel, but this other person just lived from minute to minute and hung on through all the fear and pain and disbelief that anything would ever get better. I think many people go through a feeling of not wanting to be here any more. When someone like Melinda comes along and shows us all, if you hang on and ride out the storm, eventually those dark clouds will lighten and the sun will come out again. I’ve had treatment resistant depression for almost ten years now. I never had an event that contributed to my depression and anxiety it’s just a chemical imbalance I happen to inherit. After years of therapy I’m trying my 13th medication now and it’s hard to say I haven’t thought of giving up. I’ve survived two attempts 6 years ago. My family and pets sometimes are my only reasons to keep going. Having at least one reason to keep going has kept me alive this long. This video is now one of my reasons. I don’t feel love. I have chronic illness, chronic pain. Nobody wants to care about me. It is fact. I have went to my own brother told me he didn’t want to hear “that kind of thing” from me. I’m also a guitar player and song writer. I feel it’s being robbed from me because of my chronic pain. I have not received the proper medical care, only made worse. Now I have realized that I am enough just the way I am. A song that have helped me through hard times is The Rose by Bette Midler. It is the end song from the movie about Janis Joplins life.

Ce chemin sur cette planète est difficile pour certains, mais je suis fière d etre qui je suis avec mon parcours . La nature, les animaux, la musique, la natation m ont beaucoup aider et la mer. The hardest thing I’m facing is hitting the reset button on my friendships and where to live. I need to rebuild my friendships to be with healthy, loving characters. I keep worrying and catastrophising about where to relocate and restart, I sometimes feel so alone I struggle to go on, there are not enough older people in my life to help remind me rough times come and go. So thank you for just being you. It’s a healing and reassuring thing to have a older wisdom to keep pushing through. You lift my spirit and help push us through. I love you too. And everyone reading. So- blessing to you all in this life, this strange, wild, beautiful, crazy life.

Simple things. My first grand child was born on Tuesday, an image of her mother. I am seeing an old college friend whom I have not seen since 2018 and we're going to a library book sale tomorrow. After a hard day of medical treatment, I get to come home and rest. My handsome black cat doesn't leave my side.
Simple things. I suffered a brain injury last year and I am in rehab. This week was challenging. I am going for a test on Monday to screen for cancer. I am not nervous.. (yet), results Wednesday. I lost a daughter to estrangement and a husband because of my injury. But I am not alone. I have friends. I have (some) family.... and I have you! I get so excited when I see you have posted and today's video was by far, the most impactful and poignant video. Thank you for the song and your beautiful spirit. I'm glad you stayed. I'm here today. I'm gonna give it another day, each day and live life to the fullest. Many blessings to you❤

I’ve had treatment resistant depression for almost ten years now. I never had an event that contributed to my depression and anxiety it’s just a chemical imbalance I happen to inherit. After years of therapy I’m trying my 13th medication now and it’s hard to say I haven’t thought of giving up. I’ve survived two attempts 6 years ago. My family and pets sometimes are my only reasons to keep going. Having at least one reason to keep going has kept me alive this long. This video is now one of my reasons. I don’t feel love. I have chronic illness, chronic pain. Nobody wants to care about me. It is fact. I have went to my own brother told me he didn’t want to hear “that kind of thing” from me. I’m also a guitar player and song writer. I feel it’s being robbed from me because of my chronic pain. I have not received the proper medical care, only made worse. J ai aussi penser à quitter ce monde tellement de fois, j ai beaucoup guérie des blessures d enfances, pardonner, compris les personnes qui m ont fdu mal.
Le pardon est important et la compassion, et comme vous le dites, ça rend les personnes triste si nous le faisons.
Ce chemin sur cette planète est difficile pour certains, mais je suis fière d etre qui je suis avec mon parcours .
La nature, les animaux, la musique, la natation m ont beaucoup aider et la mer.
