    The Hobao 1/8 scale RCs are between race and bashing machines. For me, I think that they are the perfect balance! Love Hobao, very durable RC Cars.

    I have a Hobao Hyper st pro that I converted to brushless awhile back and it's one of my favorite truggies I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot lol. It's honestly built better than the newer Hobao sste and sste is a very nice and durable truggy.

    Had one of these, weak spots are the wing and shock pistons. 4s is the sweet spot on a 16t pinion. More for track than bashing. Tyres I used were the fastrax rock but you'll need hub extensions to run them. Few videos on my channel of it on the old race course 👍🏼😎

    I've had one for a little over 18 months now which I use on an outdoor worn grass/dirt track at my local club - quite simply, it's superb! I bought the rolling chassis version and fitted my own electrics running on 4S, it's an ideal set up for the track. Also fitted the Fastrax offset wheels n tyres, corners much better now and quicker.. it's suspension is so plush too.

      It's beyond it really is... It can hold its own up against Durango too. I last used mine on Wednesday evening at the club, changed the centre diff oil to 300k cst, hopefully create more drive-traction then from all 4 wheels. The front runs 10k cst and rear is 7k cst. Shocks are 600cst up front and 500cst in the rear. It's very plush, let's the weight of the truck lean helping to push those tyres into the dirt for grip. I love driving it! If only there were 1/8 Truggy classes in racing, doesn't seem to be a popular thing in the UK.

Run it both on race tracks and bashing, most rough bashing, most into jumping. Im old school and still run Nitro, in the st pro ive used completly up 4 lrp zr30x competition, two was modded,1 modded hobao .28 3port, 1 hpi f.28 and one more lrp .30x built with parts frome the other 4 with new piston/sleve/conrod. Now its a hpi purple head 4.6 in it. Hpi engine came with a Savage special edition, the purple hpi engine is just a good spare engine, newer tried the savage with hpi engine, just been running it with a Lrp zr .32, Lrp powerd savage 2012 special edition also is a fun car, can take a good beating, but not in the same leage as hobao hyper pro cars when it come to handling and take serius beating, screwed more and changed more parts on the Savage then on all my hyper cars (4) together.

    Body looks good. Skate parks are lame, absolutely it's not the end all be all of gauging toughness. Hobao is crazy underrated I'd get it over an arrma and Traxxas

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Really good to hear! Yeah skateparks are the norm on most channels.. a car breaks after a 50ft drop onto concrete and its labelled as bad for the rest of its life.. nooo not here

    Not many rc cars can take the same beating as those old hobao hyper pro cars, hyper st pro, hyper 8/8.5pro and the hyper 7, ive got them, 15+years old cars, all of them still running good

    I have a SSTE for a couple of years now and have to say, while it is a good allaround car, it has it`s flaws. You cannot race this thing properly. It turns like a tank, rear chassis is very weak,front CVD`s wear out way too fast and prevent proper steering angle. Sure you can have fun with it and even make the rear chassis more stable with a custom strut to the center diff plate, but for me it was the wrong car. Should have invested in a proper race truggy.

    Who is selling HB (hyper) products now? I lost track when OFNA closed here in USA.

    I'd definitely subscribe, if you compare this one to the zd racing pirates 3 truggy ;)
    Would be a good comparison..

      @nickiwe89 ปีที่แล้ว

      I subscribed anyway ;D
      Probably going to get one, but I'm not sure at the moment if I'm going for the roller or rtr..
      It's a bit more expensive in Germany where I live, but it seems worth it.

      Thats debatable haha.. HPI Who? Used to be massive back in the day and where the leaders if anything.. these days they are a dying brand unfortunately due to lack of innovation and good new models. Shame

    Price: £269.00 + all the rest for modifications is too expensive to Bash/breaking. IMO you better can buy a cheap chinese RC car to throw away.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I disagree. The best bashing cars out there (arrma 6s range, traxxas maxx etc are all £500+) this is half the money. Okay minus the electronics but even still hobao have always been a solid dependable brand just not as well known as the big boys. Another problem with Chinese cars is lack of local spares. Not everyone wants to wait 2 weeks for parts. There is good and bad points. Buying an Rc car to throw away once broken isn’t the best idea.. part of the hobby is repairs.. but I appreciate your opinion 👍
