Man in my opinion the HBX 2996a and 2997a(US market only) should have taken the first place, are far better and more sturdy than any MJX, center differential make them better to drive, and tires are less soft and prone to overturn the truck
@@Hotpotate I think approximately 15 days with Bangood for the 2996a for a European customer, but an American customer can buy the 2997a from Amazon and have the spare parts from American sites in few days
Let's hope it catches on. MJX filling all the empty spaces in their boxes .RTR & them some . The Lancia fills my heart , thou. Rally in España are big crowd pleasers , not so in the States .
For me personally i think the Grom is a good price. I own one and it’s a durible is heck. Plus the price comes to parts availability which is pretty much almost at any hobby shop unlike other brands. And the brush system is pretty fast for a small car. You have to admit. Plus you get a smart system which is nice. But I like the list I just would’ve like to see the Grom in the top five.
Solid list! Love my little HBX and MJX cars. I found if you turn the strap sideways and face the plugs to the rear on the 3100A(not on the list), those 3S packs will fit.

For me it was Onmi Terminator vs Quantum Flux 2. But i went with the brushless MT10 sale and a brushless motor/ESC combo. Ended up about the same price as the Quantum. Im not sure i made the right choice, though. The Quantum looks awfully good
Good list, but no1 is way over hyped imo. Bashed mine twice and sold it cheap. Overpowered on 3s, it’s over weight for the size, throttle delay, wheels crack and shatter, massive steering slack, poor geometry = turn over all the time. At the same time I bought my son the SG116 beast max or SCY.p as an upgrade to the Tracer that’s still going strong 3 years on. Beast max is phenomenal and missing from your list. If you haven’t reviewed it maybe you should. All the cars on you list are great, I have or have owed most of them, plan on getting truggy version of the quantum when it releases, but I really don’t get the hype on the 14210. Looks like good value but will disappoint. Anyhow, bought the terminator carbon and waiting for it to arrive.
I just got a overmax hooligan, which costed me 128 euros, it has a max speed of upnto 50 kmph and has 100 meters of range, and oil filled shock absorbers, so far its pretty good and powerfull, as it got 4wd.
I'm not sure on the MJX 14210 had lots of problems with it, it's heavy and that causes a lot more damage then a HBX, for example the front arms broke 2 times in 5 drives. Then the tie rods are snapping so easy at the ends, plastic is very weak. It's a fast car and it feels amazing to drive but it you need to change a tie rod nearly at every other drive it puts you off using it.
You are so right. My son wanted a rc car,bought him an hbx racing truck and myself an 14210 3 weeks ago. His hbx broke nothing so far under heavy bashing and i had to change nearly every time something after driving.frontarms really are an issue and on speed it is nearly not controllable. All 4 tires had broken rims which needed gluing and non of them rolls round anymore. Besides all that it is a fun car,but the Power does not match the size of handling in my opinion.
I would absolutely love to get into this stuff. Unfortunately, I broke my neck and shattered my clavicle into my right pectoral so severely that it took eight hours just to remove the bone, not including the repairs. I have 18 screws, a titanium clavicle, rotator cuff surgery, six screws, two plates, and some donor bone in my neck. (I loathe drunk drivers.) It's going to take time to heal, so by then, these might be outdated... nevertheless, they are super cool. And mate, I absolutely love your videos. You do phenomenal work and should be proud of your efforts. I think you're amazing. Well-spoken and highly informative... I'm very impressed. I do NOT want anything given to me. I will earn my place and enjoyment in life, one way or another, even if it kills me. Your dedication to your passions has reignited my own. Thanks for reminding me of a passion I had forgotten.

In general it is good. I would change the Grom for the Gorgon and I would have liked to see the HBX 2996 and the Wltoys 144001. I don't know if you have tried the Team Magic E5, it is a good 1/10 truck at a good price, a rival for MT10, Quantum 2 and Omni Terminator. But this is good and tells you that there is plenty to choose from.
I got one too and I've had lots of problems with mine. Mostly the plastic case on the diffs and blowing out the tires, bearings, and the fans. I replaced everything and now I'm kind of apprehensive about even driving it. Kind of a let down

It would have been pretty close to the top if it was staying at that price and was 1/10 scale. It’s a great truck but as mentioned in the video it’s an expensive “cheap” rc car! Rlaarlo if they are going to start charging premium prices then parts need to find their way into local stores before releasing any more cars.

Nice vid. I've just received the 16889a Pro as my first rc and it's perfect for my needs. In particular, being able to dial the speed right down for my kids to use is great, anywhere from 40% to 100%, whereas mjx is a choice between 70% or 100% only. 16889a pro (unbranded) was 84 quid on ebay whereas mjx 1/14 is well over 120 quid even on aliexpress. 1/16 mjx have poorer quality metal gears/ diffs. 16889a pro ftw!
I used a 2997a esc and put a 5900kv surpass motor in mine and it'll go 40 / 50 mph lmao. It's soo fast and tough that I barely drive my new h14bm. Soo much fun, wheelies all day, and you can launch it into space without worrying about it breaking.
hmm, you did not mention the MJX 1/16 which is better or at least comparable to the hbx 1/16. The 1/14 MJX is a bit more expensive. Great list though, I would put out the GROM as it is not good value for money but put MJX 1/16 in.

Just ordered the hypergo 142100 shame it doesnt have the press 5times option on it because on full power it seems uncontrollable for everyone. Hopefully 2s +75% makes it managable.
I'm between these two cars... which one would you choose? 14210 or 14209? I think the 209 is more controllable... and rolls over less... so I would opt for that one... but I don't know... which one of those would you choose? or if you have a better one for the 150e price range... I want it racing with friends on an asphalt circuit but sometime we will go to the dirt circuit...
I like the list, and I’m glad you’ve decided to remove the less durable last-gen China platform wltoys/rlaarlo and stick pretty much exclusively to durable, lightweight cars. That’s really what makes a beginner rc car great. Personally, I think that the HBX 16890SA should absolutely replace or be mentioned along the 16889a-pro as I can’t think of any points where the SA is weaker than the pro? It looks like the Pro has actually been replaced with the SA on the hbx Amazon store.
Wltoys are becoming Less and less relevant. Nothing new and increasing prices. People are sick of their recycled cars now. They are dying off as a viable brand now unfortunately and they have caused it themselves
As there similar price, the carbon terminator and the quantum 2 But you've picked the maverick higher than the rlarrlo, so out of the 2 which do you genuinely think is better? @@VictoriaJones-gy8es i believe the esc in the quantum2 is the same 80a esc that is in the HPi Jumpshot Flux range. Those esc are programmable all be it with HPI's own prog box. Bit expensive though at around £40 for the box.
Both very solid trucks. The quantum 2 is a very good truck with lots of updates in the right places. The omni terminator whilst not as big is incredibly well built but the deciding factor is parts support. 2 weeks or more direct from rlaarlo or days with the maverick as they will be stocked at almost all hobby stores.
One of my favourite cars is the mjx hyper go 14301. Parts are cheap and readily available. I don't understand why MJX did not do a 1/10 version of it. I heard something was in the pipeline, but the idea was dropped. I think it would have been epic. Perhaps it was some sort of legal issue regarding what it looks like?

Used to love my earthquake 8e. One day it stopped working after just a month of use. Would love to get one again but money is non exisistent right now due to an unexpected diagnosis that took me out of work. I sit home and do nothing all day waiting to get sicker. Gonna have to find a way to invest in one. Would be nice to have some joy again.
Not sure if the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator should be included. For the general public, it arrives march 18 at the earliest. So it's not a proven platform just because youtubers have access to it. Also where does the higher price come from? When i visit the Rlaarlo page i only see the 250, 200 and 180$ prices, can't see any other pricing🤷♂️
Price is set to increase to 329.99 for the carbon version. The price you see at the moment is the presale price. They do this before the fully public release and allow people to essentially preorder at a much lower price increasing sales at the start before putting prices back up after launch.

That cf rlaarlo though right ? Working with a hbx 16890SA with the 2024 3700 but what does that even mean ? lol I like it a lot with a 4s in a parking lot and and a 3s too but that 4s battery scoots . Blows wheelies but it has to be throttled right . I m still getting used to it and forgot to order the charger for the 4s but got to experience it for a couple minutes and it was a huge difference . I wanted to see if the motor or anything would heat up but it was fine after 5 minutes of full throttle .

I have a few cheap cars and that mjx hyper go the number 1 is the worst outta the bunch I don't drive hard and everytime I take it out something breaks its fast but the durability isn't there all my arms been tearing were they connect to the body the only thing it has going is there is alot of parts u can get but other then that it hasn't been very good for me the rims cracked in the first week and wasn't even jumping it ... pretty much all my cheap cars break very quickly in my opinion unless it's a slow brushed car then it lasts... I moved to arrma see how they do that boost should be the number 1 it probably outlast all of these even after u put brushless in it......

I miss my hbx 901a was my first, i miss it so much. I have a wltoys 124017 I got recently. I like it, i do but its just not the hbx 901a imo. Do love it too tho. Also, just got a jjrq 130 its not a bad truck. Pretty decent bought it as a cheaper truck. I recommend swapping the tires and shocks. I'm getting the hyper go h14bm very soon. Im hoping i like it the most. Considering its $200.

Yes these two are solid trucks. I converted a brushed one to brushless and it never breaks and handles very well
Are the parts easier to get than the MJX vehicles? The availability isn’t the issue, it’s how long it takes to get them because of customs

How is the overheating on the 2997a? I looked at the reviews and a good few people were saying it was overheating a lot, what are your thoughts.

You’re 100% right about the senton better off getting the 3s version, I love mine had it since 2021
For sure it’s worth saving up extra for the blx as the upgrade path is more expensive in the long run

how does the mjx truggy handle compared to a ftx tracer or a rlaarlo am-d12?
As it’s a bit heavier it does feel more planted on/off road. All three mentioned there are such good trucks it makes it so hard to decide!
The ARRMA 4x4 line suffers from the crap plastic ring and pinions. They will break under brushless power, the metal upgrades are a necessity.

@@VictoriaJones-gy8es i believe the esc in the quantum2 is the same 80a esc that is in the HPi Jumpshot Flux range. Those esc are programmable all be it with HPI's own prog box. Bit expensive though at around £40 for the box.
Both very solid trucks. The quantum 2 is a very good truck with lots of updates in the right places. The omni terminator whilst not as big is incredibly well built but the deciding factor is parts support. 2 weeks or more direct from rlaarlo or days with the maverick as they will be stocked at almost all hobby stores.

One of my favourite cars is the mjx hyper go 14301. Parts are cheap and readily available. I don't understand why MJX did not do a 1/10 version of it. I heard something was in the pipeline, but the idea was dropped. I think it would have been epic. Perhaps it was some sort of legal issue regarding what it looks like?

Used to love my earthquake 8e. One day it stopped working after just a month of use. Would love to get one again but money is non exisistent right now due to an unexpected diagnosis that took me out of work. I sit home and do nothing all day waiting to get sicker. Gonna have to find a way to invest in one. Would be nice to have some joy again.

Not sure if the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator should be included. For the general public, it arrives march 18 at the earliest. So it's not a proven platform just because youtubers have access to it. Also where does the higher price come from? When i visit the Rlaarlo page i only see the 250, 200 and 180$ prices, can't see any other pricing🤷♂️
They're a bit all over the place with their advertising but I've also seen the markup price which will probably be after march 18 (launch)
Price is set to increase to 329.99 for the carbon version. The price you see at the moment is the presale price. They do this before the fully public release and allow people to essentially preorder at a much lower price increasing sales at the start before putting prices back up after launch.

I go to liquidations that have hyper go rc cars I always get them for $8. And they work really good. They were just returned items. And even if they are broken I’d just buy the parts to fix em

Working with a hbx 16890SA with the 2024 3700 but what does that even mean ? lol I like it a lot with a 4s in a parking lot and and a 3s too but that 4s battery scoots . Blows wheelies but it has to be throttled right . I m still getting used to it and forgot to order the charger for the 4s but got to experience it for a couple minutes and it was a huge difference . I wanted to see if the motor or anything would heat up but it was fine after 5 minutes of full throttle .

No depending on which mega boost you go for there is a RTR available but it comes with a nimh battery and basic smart USB charger.
I found the granite from which comes with with lipo battery and same scale same price

I have a few cheap cars and that mjx hyper go the number 1 is the worst outta the bunch I don't drive hard and everytime I take it out something breaks its fast but the durability isn't there all my arms been tearing were they connect to the body the only thing it has going is there is alot of parts u can get but other then that it hasn't been very good for me the rims cracked in the first week and wasn't even jumping it ... pretty much all my cheap cars break very quickly in my opinion unless it's a slow brushed car then it lasts... I moved to arrma see how they do that boost should be the number 1 it probably outlast all of these even after u put brushless in it......

I miss my hbx 901a was my first, i miss it so much. I have a wltoys 124017 I got recently. I like it, i do but its just not the hbx 901a imo. Do love it too tho. Also, just got a jjrq 130 its not a bad truck. Pretty decent bought it as a cheaper truck. I recommend swapping the tires and shocks.
I'm getting the hyper go h14bm very soon. Im hoping i like it the most. Considering its $200.
