  • HoBao SSTE Truggy, This will be a video on the build and first run of the Hyper SSTE Truggy by HoBao, for me to say that it's the most underrated truggy out there with out running it for a period will not be fair to all viewers looking at this vehicle. I will be running this vehicle quite a lot during the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more videos on this particular truggy. I will give you my honest opinion on the SSTE during each run. So stay tuned for more videos on the HoBao Hyper SSTE Truggy. Enjoy the video.

    I have one of these sste’s and I have to say it’s the toughest thing iv ever bashed with. I own several bashers. Xmaxx, Big Rock, Redcat Machete 6s… the SSTE is by far the toughest aswell as the most precise to drive. I have it on the stock 6s system still because it’s been so good in the truggy. Literally never gets too hot, fast and responsive, programmable out of box with card. It checks all of the boxes.
    Now I did break a wheel on the sste but I sent the truggy off of a 60ft face mountain bike park jump and sent it a bit crooked which landed me right into a pile of giant boulders that were right off the side of the landing slope. The truggy flew right into it at probably 45mph and smashed into the boulders with the right front wheel hitting first. Only thing that cracked was the wheel. Nothing else bent or broke. I have sent it hard so many times before that with landings to flat from 20ft in the air and bad landings on each end. The truck is nearly indestructible. And it’s fast fast. I replaced the wheel and will be taking the truck out tomorrow to give it a good rip after a couple months on the shelf so we will see if I can break something but I’d feel safe to say probably not given how long it’s lasted with the abuse I have given it.
    If anyone is on the fence about any Hobao rc, buy it. Don’t think about it just do it. The quality of their rcs are top tier and prices are wayyyy better than other companies that give the same if not poorer quality parts. And Hobao make their own parts in house.
    I also recently picked up their Hyper GT and swapped the front shock tower and shocks out with a rear tower and shocks, so same up front and in rear. That’s all you need to do to do a Rally conversion other than wheels and tires. I got Jetko Rockhammer buggy wheels and tires for it and they’re the perfect size for an 8th scale rally car. It’s an animal. The car is so good and Iv beat on it and hooned it all over the place and that hasn’t broke anything either. You can just feel the quality when you hold one of their RC’s. It feels as solid as it truly is. I’m blabbing here but I’m dead serious about how good Hobao products are. It’s almost an unknown gem lost in obscurity. Not a ton of people buy because they don’t have the name that brands like Traxxas or Arrma do or Tekno/Losi/Asscociated ect… but I’d go as far as to say they’re better RC’s than any of these companies. And they make their own upgrades aswell which is sick.
    Anyway I know this video is a year old now but I was just working on my SSTE and came here to watch some videos of other builds. Had to chime in with my piece on Hobao. Absolutely killer rc products and I’ll definitely be buying more of their lineup.

      Hi there FingerTightRC, I will agree with you on all of what you have said. HoBao is a outstanding company and their product is top notch. I have placed a order on their SSE buggy. I like your concept of turning their Hyper GT into a rally car, I may hit you up in the future (Sept/Oct) time frame to get your perspective on me doing that same conversion. I have two videos coming out featuring the SSTE and the MT Sport Plus in about a week or so. Little busy with family and the property, just taking time to put out good quality videos. People use to know HoBao as Ofna still because that is what they sold under, now some are very hesitate to take that leap. For the price of a RTR or Kit you are paying for the quality not just the name. I like the kit version that way I can put my own electronics in and what ever happens it's my fault. The chassis and frames they produce are the toughest in the business. I will say that the only thing that I have broke on either of my HoBao rc is the chassis on the SSTE doing a test speed run and hitting a curb at 64mph really taco the chassis beyond repair. But their upgraded chassis it awesome. Thanks for watching the video and I apologize for such a late response. I hope too hear more from you in the future, take care and stay safe out there.

    I really like this one! I watched a lot of videos with it recently, it looks like a really good buy. I am happy for you, and as always, your laugh says it all, you are happy with it, ha ha!
    I'm actually looking at their 8th scale buggy, but this one keeps lingering in my mind, and also their 10th scale truggy is really nice. Your idea to maybe make it a street basher sounds really nice, I think that'll be a lot of fun, I can only imagine your laugh if you do that.
    That last footage was great, happy you forgot to stop the recording.

      Hey Phillyswords, so far I am impressed with it, I am looking at getting some 6S Copperheads to run it in the grass and gravel or maybe the tires from the Kronos. It needs better tires to perform where I run. Thanks for watching💯💯💯

      Thank you. I found out even if you build a vehicle, still need to do a break in run, so the diffs can wear evenly, even with thicker oil. Appreciate you watching the video. Take care my friend. 💯💯

    Awesome run AL!!!! Ain't that the way, fresh paint and you turtle the car (truck, truggy, whatever).... Sharp looking body too, great job with the paint work.

    I don’t own any but everyone seems to love HoBao stuff. Grayson has HoBao crawler tires on his Danchee Ridgerock. He loves em. They’re an odd tread but work really well

      @@small45s16 I really appreciate that you like the content. One tip before you run it, check all the diff oils, and look at the gears inside each one. They are a lot beefier than a lot of other RCs, other than that, enjoy .

    Hello mate. I have one question. I wonder which one to buy, and I see that you have both. Kraton 4s or Hobao Hyper SSTE? Which do you think is stronger for bashing, which gives you more pleasure to drive? I am left with the impression that Hobao is stronger and easier to ride.. what is your opinion about the two models

    • @sparetimerc
      @sparetimerc  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Borislavpnko, I want to start off by saying thank you for stopping by to watch the channel and for leaving a comment. This may be a little long explanation, but I want you to get as much info. Now the HoBao SSTE ready to run will cost you roughly (US Dollars) $540. Kraton 4s V-2 roughly (US Dollars)$480. Now if you have spare electronics you can get the HoBao SSTE Roller for $360 (US Dollars) They both are durable and strong. If you looking for a vehicle that is a drivers vehicle then the HoBao SSTE is the choice handles very well. on the track and on the street. The HoBao you can upgrade to 7075 Chassis and shock towers to make it even stronger. Composite is always better except in the cold (50 degrees or lower) (10 Celsius or lower)then it more susceptible to crack. Now you can run 4s and 6s in the HoBao SSTE with out modifying it but the Kraton 4s you will have to put 6s electronics in it and make sure everything is meshed correctly. I run my HoBao more and the Kraton I run when family is over and they want to run RC (8 10th scales rc) cheaper to repair them. I have one question for you. Which one catches your EYE? that is the one you will enjoy more.💯
