- Join me as I unbox the incredible Hobao Hyper SSTE, a birthday gift from my amazing wife and daughter! I've been eager to start this roller project and explore the capabilities of this truggy from Hobao. Thanks to my family's support, I reached out to Hedley and the team at Western Valley Models (Risca) to get my hands on one. Stay tuned for this ongoing project on my channel - I'm super excited to share it with you!
This build was inspired by fellow TH-camrs Beyond RC and Jason Perrin, who both did an amazing job on their builds, sparking my interest to give it a go and see what all the fuss was about.

Yeah the drivetrain is very smooth to be fair , im going to do some work on it soon to check over the diffs and set it all up before running it .

Great video and probably one of my favourite rc cars in my fleet. I always end up taking this out over my xmaxx, arrma typhon 6s and kronos xtr. Its takes so much abuse so much built like a tank

Yeah man Rickys truck looks Epic for sure . was there anything you would recommend changing up since you have driven his .
@ChriswithaCrc 6s Backflips, that's all you need, think he's got a Max8 system in it pulled from his DR8, BEAST MODE!
@@Big_Gazzz-RC i run the same 4s as featured in this video I think the 6s are just a little too big as this is a fairly short wheel base truggy. I would also suggest 12mm hub extenders which will widen the stance and make it even more stable. I found the sweet spot with a 18t pinion on 4s which still gives 50+mph speeds without blowing out the 4s backflips. 20t which I was running before on 4s i was going through 4s backflips every other run. Its all dialled in now. You will love it mate. Cheers for the shout out! Will be on the look out for this!
What i have in my HoBao SSTE truggy supass hobby 4292 1500kv and a 21t and 9imod 45kg brusless sevo and HRB 4s 6000mah 80c and the stock 150esc runs cool .
The color of the motor that I have is not the old black one I have the red one is the version 2 with the thermal plug for it

I was all ways planning on running on 4s so what ive choosen seems to have done the job 100%

@@ChriswithaCrc the motor and speed controller I have in my Truckee it runs cold all the time on 4S and 6s I'm just running 4s because I know if I run 6s or higher I'm going to break something and I can run all the way up to a 23t with no problem and no heating issues
Running a Max8 combo with a 22t pinion gear. Mine a beast, haven't had it out after I exchanged the bevel gear😐 that's a weakness,the input gear/bevel keep ripping gears up
Hey man Nice , Im running a full new set up and its a total monster now ! Weird that not had one issue yet with Crown and Input gears though !
