  • @nelsonbutcher1
    @nelsonbutcher1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Running the 5700 at about 1950mhz is the sweet spot for practical use. Higher frequency will give you gains and benchmarks but it doesn't really translate over to real world performance. From there just drop the voltage until you get it nice and stable. quick note on frequency though, you have to set the target 50 to 80 megahertz higher than you actually wanted to run so 2 GHz as Target frequency will get you in The Sweet Spot.

      @@blackwidow7804 he's saying you can't do the math that way for Celsius/Fahrenheit because they don't scale starting from 0, unlike Kelvin, eg if something goes from -10 C degrees to 10 C degrees, then usual percentage differences doesn't make sense (ie it has a -100% increase, which isn't right) or eg asking what would double -10 C degrees be? Needs to be converted to kelvin to find the true percentage change

    Note that the 5700 XT has 2560 SP, 5700 has 2304 SP. This doesn't change with an XT BIOS flash. The 5700 PWR limits are gone and the stock freq. go up to XT levels and can OvrCk even higher. Therefore the 5700 XT is still slightly more powerful.

    I used to mod my Geforce/Radeon cards into Quadro/Fire cards. Now those provided some impressive gains for CADD! But then that wasn't really dependent on silicon quality for performance, it was all artificial bifurcation.

      Kostas S. I did before but this was about 3 weeks ago. I’m trying again today though. But yeah there’s an extra heat pipe on the XT. Kinda makes sense though. Non XT doesn’t need it even at its worse. I can’t get over 75c unless I remove my extra exhaust fans

    Just a thought on the Noise charts. Because of the way DB is logarithmic in it's measurement, it might be good to graph that in that nature (not linearly) , ie. 42dbA being half the volume of 52dba.
    I can already see this being difficult when applying this to a large spread of data, but, if it could be made it would really help accent the difference in noise. Especially with cpu/ AIO coolers, where noise is often the deciding factor when you make a decision on a purchase.

But even with stock no overclock settings this performs much better at 1440p than the GTX 1660 Ti it replaced

    FWIW: the 5700 is already found for under $300 ($269.99 to be more precise @ Amazon). With its potential to be flashed as XT card, it is hard to be a too bad choice at this price range.

      @@onuraygun1482 Ya. It was a flash sale or something, but I ain't complaining. Added a few more bucks to get some decent thermal pads and grease, as the card has a tendency to produce artifacts with the XT BIOS and under full load with the pads it came with.

    I have a Saphire RX 5700 XT Nitro+ OC'd, I paid $440.00 for this card and was told it was the best offering at the time, May 15th, 2020. I love the three fan build of this card. Do I need to do any Bios flashing? Additionally, Nobody is talking about the bios switch on the side and clearly explaining what it actually does or how to deal with it. Please advise. Dud I make the right choice? I have been seeing comparison videos with the 5600 XT and the 5700 and the XT version still wins out on almost all the tests.

    In my area there's not that much of a price difference between a 5700 and 5700 XT, generally $30-50. Saving such a small amount of money by getting the 5700 and then manual flashing hardly seems worth, especially if there are issues with the warranty over the next 3 years.
