NVIDIA will probably lift the ray-tracing performance from 1 sample per pixel to 4 samples per pixel. That way ray-tracing will slowly be able to be used for something else than just illumination. But yeah, for a fully ray-traced scene in real-time, we'd need 1,000 samples per pixel. And that's only because of recent advances in mathematics and algorithms for the denoiser. A few years ago that was easily 200,000 samples per pixel. Anyway, that's still a long way off, because a thousand-fold increase in processing power doesn't just happen within one or two generations. Right now (for me at least) i have to search for it briefly instead of just being able to glance at it, i think changing it will help me and other viewers see how the card your reviewing compares to the base card.
Thanks for covering this card, but please include thermals! The close performance is expected, the thermals and noise readings have a larger margin of error for us to guess at.
Great thing about this... Asus's version of a 3 fan model is around 100 bucks more. With Red Devil doing it cheaper, Asus will have to drop that price if they want sales. Thank you Red Devil. Keep those prices competitive for us all! :D
Good timing, right after I saw OC3D his unboxing here I can see a review. I am waiting for a well-cooled card which isn't that much more expensive, just the added cost of the heatsink.

These (5700 XT) are officially a much better deal than the used 1080 Tis (never saw them go below $450 anyway)... and with all the new AMD bajingajing to tackle Nvidia's features from a different side, Navi will surely grow on users even more in the near future

I find it interesting that none of the Aussie retailers are chosing to carry this yet, not even for pre-order, the only options we have is ebay or Amazon.
G'day Steve, I was surprised when looking at RX5700XT pricing in Sydney, the Sapphire Pulse at $799 is $140AUD more than the Blower version which is a Huge difference to the $10USD in America, the MSI Evoke OC is better at $729AUD, do you know if the Red Devil will be available here in Australia? It does look very good P.s. I'll be back for more videos, But only because you said Pllleeease 😁
The Sapphire Pulse is supposed to be Sapphire's cheaper cooler. I really hope there's been some sort of pricing error, it's disappointing to see it so expensive.
It's straight up price gouging by Scorptec just because they have the first AIB variants in stock. Wait a couple weeks for other retailers to bring in units and prices will come down.
Thanks all. I suppose this one is slightly more quiet than the Sapphire and probably a bit cheaper too. Perhaps I should wait and see what MSI, Gigabyte and Asus have to offer before making the final decision.

Quite happy with my Red Devil Vega 56. I only wish that the cooler tried to push just a little of the heat out the back, but the vents are just for show.
4:10 10Phase VRM vs. 7Phase VRM (assuming that they use same components and cards run exactly the same clocks and voltages) gives better thermals. Temp increase does not go linear and if you take a look on some crazy CPU VRMs - they are cold if you run stock.
PowerCooler has been improving its products. A couple of years ago, buyers' comments on online shopping sites were fairly negative about the brand. Perhaps, it's time to give the company another look.
@zon tarr You can’t stop markets reacting to demand, if powercolor makes a damn good card and that card then charges a premium because of that, powercolor deserves to have that benefit for the work they have put in
I still think GPUs right now, including Navi are still too overpriced. It's a matter of "overpriced" and "very overpriced", AMD and Nvidia respectively.
@Alex Amedia That is not true. With no competition from other players AMD, Intel and NVIDIA set their prices like a cartel. There are no incentives for AMD to lower their prices. Anything slightly better value than NVIDIA will give them a slight edge that will make sure they have enough market share without completely taking over. It makes everything as profitable as possible for both companies. I do not buy the "jebaited" excuse from AMD pre-launch. By announcing the MSRP as they are now, NVIDIA hands would be forced regardless. The game unfortunately is rigged
Do you think you could run benchmarks in typical Australian conditions? ie 35C ambient? 21C ambient certainly isn't sustainable or useful for anyone who's concerned with power consumption.

It kind of strikes me as odd that the "Red Devil" on the ports will be upside down when it's put in your case.
My palit 2070 also has dual bios with oc and silent option. The silent option will turn off the fans when the temp is not over 60 degree's Celsius. Resulting in virtually no dust under the fans after years of use. Making it easy to clean up when I'm about to sell it.
440$/€ for the Red Devil, while the Evoke will cost 460€ here in germany. Just wow.
Edit: I like how similar the plastic/aluminium shroud is to my R9 270x Toxic by Sapphire.
I like the bling on the Evoke but screw that nonsense. Red Devil all the way for that difference.
@@johnbuscher the limited edition of the Red Devil is already listed - for 469€. Guess, if XFX or Sapphire aren't dropping something interesting (Sapphire Toxic) the Red Devil will be my new gpu next month.

Some reviewers have noticed it auto overclocks very well if you undervolt the card from its 1.2v ish setting down to 1.12-1.13V to allow more power and temp headroom. Made quite a difference for Jayztwocents (i say quite, it was 4-5 fps difference roughly as it was holding well over 2000 mhz)

I wonder how many retry it took to get it just right.
Thank you for all your reviews and content! I appreciate you using the orange and red for the partner cards to help distinguish them amongst their competition in the graphs, this makes reading the charts so much simpler. I know you made the base radeon 5700 xt slightly green but i think it would help if you differentiate it from the blue, more than what it is currently. Right now (for me at least) i have to search for it briefly instead of just being able to glance at it, i think changing it will help me and other viewers see how the card your reviewing compares to the base card.

What is the overall best rx 5700 xt aib card? Sorry for asking here but Ive been looking at a lot of reviews of them custom cards and I cant decide

If you care about the price: Sapphire Pulse
Godly power: Red Devil.
Just purchased an Asus Strix 2070 for $410 after tax and shipping. Was pretty proud of that purchase.

Very understated look on the Red Dragon variant by the way 👍 Looking forward to seeing how it performs in terms of thermals
BTW I see it now. These (5700 XT) are officially a much better deal than the used 1080 Tis (never saw them go below $450 anyway)... and with all the new AMD bajingajing to tackle Nvidia's features from a different side, Navi will surely grow on users even more in the near future
Plus a used card doesn't have a warranty so yeah win win
This thing's currently impossible to find in stock.. I hope it's not long before they're back!
I have the Red Devil RX 590 and i just love this card

G'day Steve,
I was surprised when looking at RX5700XT pricing in Sydney, the Sapphire Pulse at $799 is $140AUD more than the Blower version which is a Huge difference to the $10USD in America,
the MSI Evoke OC is better at $729AUD, do you know if the Red Devil will be available here in Australia? It does look very good
P.s. I'll be back for more videos, But only because you said Pllleeease 😁
The Sapphire Pulse is supposed to be Sapphire's cheaper cooler. I really hope there's been some sort of pricing error, it's disappointing to see it so expensive.

If the 5800 XT gives similar performance compared to the 2080ti as well as silence like this, it'll be very interesting times.
How is this compared to Sapphire Pulse ? I set my sight on Sapphire until I watched this video
mid9sun I see more silent same temps
check out the review on Gamers Nexus. the pulse is more than fine, imho.
Thanks all. I suppose this one is slightly more quiet than the Sapphire and probably a bit cheaper too. Perhaps I should wait and see what MSI, Gigabyte and Asus have to offer before making the final decision.
The sapphire is very quiet too. And this is more expensive than the Pulse. Just check out the Gamers Nexus review, no need to get second hand opinions.
Red Devil is probably quieter, Pulse is shorter.
I've been watching these videos for years and neglected to sub (sorry 'bout that) Finally did it!
The real reason I'm commenting is for the B-Roll shot of flinging the Red Devil sticker into the graphics card. BRAVO! That must have taken a few tries to get right. The production quality on these videos is great, keep up the good work!
The Pulse seems to offer the best value out of the 5700 XT cards we've seen so far, assuming that you can get it for 410 US
Thanks for doing so many reviews! I hope you get to review the Red Dragon or Challenger as well to see how the temps work out with the 2-slot versions.
Is it worth the $30 price jump over the sapphire pulse?
Mayhapsinetly
Hard to say, if you don't OC, the Pulse might be good enough, better then Evoke for sure (2000 RPM vs 1500 RPM).
It's probably quieter. Other than that, it's aesthetics. The teardown at Gamers Nexus gave high marks to the Pulse.
I have the Powercolor Red devil rx 570 paired with my r5 1600. I've always loved Powercolors design, especially the 3 fan variants. IMO sexiest looking cards.

Quite happy with my Red Devil Vega 56. I only wish that the cooler tried to push just a little of the heat out the back, but the vents are just for show.

That sticker chunk at the end was on point! Thanks for the great review.
@RISEUP Gamer AMD could give these cheapskates a 2080ti performance today for $100 and they would still complain about it being overpriced 😂
Do you think you could run benchmarks in typical Australian conditions? ie 35C ambient? 21C ambient certainly isn't sustainable or useful for anyone who's concerned with power consumption.
AMD are back! Lets hope it lasts as everyone is a winner when competition is rife.
This attitude should be more common

I think they really nailed it design wise, this shows that it really doesn't take a lot of money to make a card look premium, just some plastic bits in the right place can make the cards look 100x better. Other brands should take notes on this design.

I'm still going to hold off on buying x570 motherboards for the mo as I'm waiting to see what else happens for the rest of this month. (currently running an Asus Hero VII with latest BIOS)
I will happily pay $100 more for Ray Tracing.
Not diminishing yet another great video from the graph master, just saying if AMD added Ray Tracing to it's cards for $100 I would buy it, as of now they have no Rays! My all AMD blood build I wanted is tinted with some green blood. Hopefully they will come out with a Ray Tracing model soon.
I'm a eye candy kind of player, I will enjoyably take 30fps 1440p Rays vs 100fps no Rays. It's Skyrims fault.
You sill have your rays in 2021.
