    A HUGE missing piece of this conversation is that many men (including our own black men) are not checking for black women. Men tend to be much more open to date women of other races except black women. I have heard this said by men of other races on multiple occasions. It's getting better, but there are still a lot of stereotypes surrounding dating black women.

    • @Smurflexis
      @Smurflexis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +390

      Nikoya Moses exactly. I also feel like that’s part of the reason why most black women stick to black men. Cuz out of everyone else they are usually the most likely to understand us versus men of other races.

    • @kmoses8191
      @kmoses8191 4 ปีที่แล้ว +206

      @@Smurflexis I agree. Although I feel that any man, once they get to know us would definitely be able to understand us better, but we are so different in hair texture, skin care and many other ways that it does create a bit a of fear as to how men will respond to us, especially since so many of our natural features have been put down (and then copied). As I said before, it is getting better, but there are still some stigmas from both ends.

      @Pooh Asia This is about having a conversation. I'm presenting another, very real, explanation to the topic based upon my personal experiences and knowledge (as a single black woman). This is my opinion and experience, if it isn't yours, that's fine, but it doesn't diminish mine.

      I'm gonna tell the truth. Women, especially black women, are expected to marry within their race. Men can marry who they want, but if a woman marries outside her race, it's somehow wrong. While there's people against black men marrying outside their race, they won't go and try to say something like, "I can find you a beautiful black woman." They won't do that. Why? Cause he's a man and you can't tell him what to do.

      @@forestwood5775 culture and race aren't the same thing ironically. For example, I am black but I have been raised in a white neighborhood and went to white schools. Not on purpose but just out of coincidence. As a result, I have no problem being the only minority in a all white group since I have a lot in common and we have smiliar upbringings. However, my black friend who raised differently doesn't think the same nor act the same. As a result, he tends to stick to what he knows which isn't the same as me even though we are both black. So yeah culture plays a huge part.

      @leondelafonte 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      What does that even mean? Nothing wrong with dating outside your culture, as long as you don't discard your culture.

    “Historically black women have *generally* always been *more* loyal to the black race - specifically black men. So there was all this fear of dating outside their race, out of fear of being seen as ‘not loyal’”. But at the exact same time... *many - not all* black men can go out there; have three white baby mamas, explicitly say they don’t date black women, say that black women are ugly, and have “nappy hair” - (as if that’s a bad thing even though many times the men saying this have the EXACT same hair texture and THEIR mamas are black)... and their loyalty is never questioned - hell, they’re even uplifted in the black community. You don’t even have to take my word for it - just look at 5 of the top hip hop/rap artists’ wives in the industry 💁🏽‍♀️🍵

I know black people have a different experience in America then white people but that is the only thing I can think of would be an obstacle.The experiences that they have. Not the culture. The same way how there is nothing wrong with dating outside of your race there is also nothing wrong with dating within your race either. I feel like there is a lot of people in the comment section who are trying to make black people feel bad for dating within their race and those people are showing that they are part of the problem. If you don’t think there is nothing wrong with interracial dating what do you feel so offended when people only want to date within their race? How does that effect you. Sarah James erm yes, of course it is true... unless you’re talking about places where there are very few blacks like Siberia, Greenland or Korea. In the UK, where I’m from and where there are a good number of black men available, it is true. Black men in the UK are actually worst than those in USA when it comes to their aversion to black women (for the avoidance of doubt, I don’t mean mixed women when I say black 🙄). In Africa where I’m also from, it is also true. I’m sure if those black men in Africa had as much access to non black women as they do in the diaspora, they would manifest the same aversion. Look as a black woman, I don’t like the situation we’re in... being considered collectively less attractive than other groups of women largely because of our African phenotype and dark skin, including men who share the same features and skin colour is not ideal but let’s not hide from the truth. Let’s face it and deal with it. The fact that society doesn’t appreciate our beauty based on superficial, man-made standards doesn’t need to take away from our sense of self worth and esteem if we are honest about it and if we find a productive way to deal with it.

The ones that haven’t really commented to much under this video is BLACK MEN. I bet if you go to a video that talks highly of BLACK WOMEN, you would see more positive output from GOOD BLACK MEN. Don’t get sucked into media propaganda. There isn’t a man’s perspective on this show for a reason. No one has been elected to speak for the majority for a very good reason. Ashanda At Large I really dislike how this topic was presented as a problem. Not right, then targeted black women from a small study back-in 2010 which is probably highly inaccurate with faulty variables. Everyone has free will to procreate with whom they want , but programming them to do so when they never even would think 🤔 it is WRONG. Programming has been amplified with this mixing agenda (tv shows, movies, and ads). It’s really disingenuous, a slap in the face to eumelanin rich people after being treated like 💩 for 2 or 3 millennia. And the agenda is only being pushed because certain groups of people lack it and time and technology cannot advance without out this(eumelanin absorbs energy like radiation, sounds, and other unexplainable energy/frequencies and converts it into energy). Some folks can’t even handle wifi or 2G/3G/4G without getting cancer. 🤣Scientists have been studying Eumelanin for a long time now. But realized it cannot be synthesized in a lab 🧫 🔬, but only through 🧬 DNA. So now they want all of these mistreated bloodlines to give 🧬it up willy nilly to evil/dead bloodlines. 🖕🏿🖕🏿They need to be left behind.

    These comments are so frustrating when you know the numbers.
    1. Black women ARE the most loyal group by race and gender, based on their racial dating preferences. As per a poll conducted by AYI in 2013 on dating preferences of individuals based on race and gender.
    2. Black men are NOT their only option. A Stanford University study found that the number of non-black men wanting/interested in having relationships with black women OUTNUMBERS the whole female black population.
    3. Black men are the second most likely to marry out than men of other races. They are second to south Asian men, according to a PEW research centre analysis conducted in 2013.
    4. THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT. It all comes down to numbers. Black American women outnumber black men by SEVERAL MILLION. Here's the hard truth no one is saying. Straight black women who are looking to marry, the majority of you WILL have to marry out or die alone. There just is not enough of your male counterpart that exists. No other race group has a population difference in gender than black Americans
    It's simple math. 5 does not equal 2.

    When Jeannie said that if you have tainted views of dating outside of your race to see where that comes from and deal with it, I could relate as a Black woman. In my early 20s, I decided to see why I was afraid of dating a White man, and it took me a few years to finally agree to doing so. But I’m glad that I dealt with that then, so now in my late 20s, I’m pretty open to doing so. I enjoyed this conversation!

    i love black men but they don't seem to love us as much as other races of men love their women. Of course there's good black guys out there, my own dad is a wonderful black man who holds black women so high and praises us. But that is rare to find in our community these days.
    Black men are continuously making us feel worthless and chasing after women of other races and praising them. I don't mind them dating other races of women but for them to trash talk us and not praise us at all is just sad i dont know how they don't see the damage they're doing for their community.
    I know a lot of folks will disagree but this is me speaking from my experience and the other black women in my life's experience. Its 10x harder for us and if you don't know that you haven't lived in a black woman's shoes before.

  • @RyanJCreations

    Love who you love but don’t just put this on black women. There are many cultures who choose to date within their race,culture, & class. I had a friend who was Ukrainian and in her family they will shame you for dating outside people. Indians are the same way. Hasan Minaj spoke about how marrying his wife who is hindu and not Muslim was an issue for people. Why they both may be Indian they are still not considered to be cut from the same cloth. So everyone has this issue. Some black women feel like other races don’t even want to date them, so they just stick to what they know works. Most of the time when a minority male dates/marries outside of his race it’s always with a white woman. That can be discouraging for women of color.
