I remember my (white) boyfriend and I were waiting for the bus (before covid) and were just minding our business, talking about what we planned to do today, laughing, etc. An older black man comes up to us and is accusing him of being a racist since I am black. He even asked me,”do you think he’s innocent?!” And I said,”yes, because he respects me and his race does not matter.” The man was upset and he had an intimidating vibe that made it feel like he might attack my boyfriend. He mentioned how it isn’t fair for me to be with a white man when during his time, he would’ve been murdered for being with a white woman. We tried to let him know how those situations back then were not and never will be okay, and how not all white people are like that. There were other people, even a bus driver near by who just watched and didn’t say anything. When the bus came the man was getting on the same one, I was worried he would become loud and upset again by our relationship. His stop was before ours, and when we exited he came out the front, passing us, and he said,”I’m sorry for what I said.” My boyfriend accepted his apology and let him know to have a great day. I asked my boyfriend how he felt after the situation and for him never being in a really big altercation with race, he said it made him upset because we knew he was not racist and how being accused of that or me being questioned was messed up. It reminded me how interracial relationships are still seen as an issue. My boyfriend’s mom treats me differently than her other daughters in law and I feel it’s either because I’m younger or because I’m Black and Mexican. Who knows. My boyfriend told me once she told her kids to never marry a black person, so he and I are sure we know where her heart is. Regardless, we have each other. We’ve been through so much that we know we don’t need to defend our relationship to anyone, and seeing people like what we’ve experienced just shows that racism still exists and hatred exists and we’ve got a lot of work to do.

It really weirds me out the way people are upset about other people being in certain kind of relationships or lifestyles! If somebody is dating outside their race... that is their business !!! Why does it bother you , how does it affect you , where is this any sort of reason to be considered a worrisome thing upon on your personal life! Let people live... let people love... and let love be! I’m a person who has been raised to be AWARE of color but not let it be the only thing that defines a person as a whole or else it sets up a bias of what I could feel that may end up having me miss out on my blessing!
Also ... I’m just glad we have this show... because the way these ladies always used to have conversations and talk about their cultures season 1 up til now... season 1 we used to talk about the positive and funny and relatable “ were we all raised in the same household “ kind of questions that no matter what race you are... you just understand and smile and have that relatability factor! But now we’re in season 7 where we don’t only show the bright side... but we also get to hear the dark and very unfortunate news and stories and get to listen and be empathetic to other cultures stories and figure out how to be better allies to those apart of communities that aren’t necessarily our own cultures!
    Who Run the World?

To see so many beautiful black and brown faces and FEMALES on top of that... this is gonna be one hell of s turnaround for our court... especially after the bastardized dumpster fire we know as Trump’s presidential term the last four years

@@niawilkerson-aviles1701 exactly, i mean ik blk women get it bad too, and my mother has always expressed to me that its okay to date outside ur race, she told me to never feel like i have to date a blk man cuz im blk. but blk men get it bad too tho, but understand because they have a history if degrading blk women, but what i feel blk women dont realize is that not all blk men are like that. thats why i don't understand the hate jeannie's fiancé, jeezy, gets because he has never talked down on blk women. he has love for his sisters and still for his ppl, he just happened to fall in love wit someone who is asian, and thats okay. so yea, i despise that almost majority of my community is against seeing blk women or blk men date outside their race, or look at them as sellouts, there are blk men and women who degrade each other, but not all are like that, its sad❤️🙏🏽

My mother is biracial and my father is white/Scottish.
My grandmother is a German woman and my grandfather (may he rest in peace) was a black man.
It was just normal for me, of course growing up in that family of course. But they didn't care if they were being judged. They loved each other, and that's what mattered.

3% of congress is made up of working class individuals. Though there’s racial and gender diversity within the administration, there isn’t socioeconomic or ideological diversity. Be aware of these things so we can hold leaders accountable. Be not fooled by identity politics.

Different cultures mixing have existed since the beginning of history. This is why as a globe we are a mixed race. A certain % of this, a certain % of that. What I did want to say that in the North Americas and some parts of Europe, at least from what I know, interracial is completely ok. Is normal. But when immigrants from other countries come into democratic and multicultural societies, I sometimes feel they think their job is to recreate their own race in their new surroundings, and when they see an interracial couple, it's like, my mind has been blown! It can't be possible!
