You can use a solid spacer. It just has to be sized for the high pinion version of the 8". I don't generally use solid spacers but I have seen them in high pinions.
Hey, I'm trying to install this Eaton elocker in my 80 series front 8". The stabilizer tabs on the locker (welded to the electromagnet) are too narrow to fit over the bearing caps. Do I just bend them with pliers to make them fit??
Hey mate great vids very informative Got a problem with my 80 series transfer case the original one in the car Packed it in. Bought another one from the Wreackers and installed it but cannot get 2H have no drive to the Back wheels only the front , how. Do you know the difference between full time and part time It drives in low range but again only have drive to front The cruiser Is a. 91 model gxl I had another gearbox and transfer. Out of a petrol. Out of desperation. Ended up installing This transfer case. Same result. Relay ////actuator ..?????? Can anyone help me please. JW

The oil slinger is interfering with my solid pinion spacer.. any ideas on what to do? Drill it larger?

Wear or bad set up are the most common causes. Water in the oil or just bad oil can destroy them too.

So if you had your choice of lockers would you want a factory e-locker, Harrop, or a arb?
I think Harrops, then Factory e-locker, then Air locker. I hate dealing with the leaky o-rings.

We only got the full time version here so I've never seen a part time one.
