  • Unsealed 4x4 recently attended the launch of the 2023 GR Sport HiLux, to see if the new model is any good on-road, and off-road. It's wider, taller and has more power, but is that enough to keep up with the competition?

    Will 33s work without touching the suspension?

    The wheel track is actually an increase of 135mm front 155mm rear.

    Does it have heated seats?

    Ya don't need a front diff lock, rear diff lock is enough unless you are going to do the real insane crazy tracks like 4WD 24/7 crew. And then you asking to break stuff. I have been all over Vic High country for years. with only rear diff lock and only used it once.

    I think Toyota just put this GR together in preparation for a fair dinkum crack at the raptor with the next model, I like it though an $20k cheaper than the raptor. I’m waiting for a full hybrid diesel in a rogue that’s for me

    Toyota fans laughing as they see the endless row of new Ford Rangers lined up outside dealerships being recalled to a software glitch that, as Ford say, "can severely injure or kill its occupants." BTW, what's that in the back seat??!!

    • @AussieDazza
      @AussieDazza 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah and all the other brands are laughing at Toyota for their vehicles left stranded with a failed DPF or dusted engine.

      And delusional Toyota fanboys like you in their Gimp suits that are driving around with overpriced, underpowered and under equipped shitheap and they still believe in the biggest myth of Toyota reliability.
      I'm sure you will be excited about this latest from Toyota - it's like they keep putting lipstick on a pig

      Really ? Err my diesel Hilux was a pos, big end bearing failure at 100 000 km. Serviced every 5 000 km.

    Offers nothing much over the Rogue, that is good enough, apart from costing more, looks like a pumped up SR, no tub lid so there’s $3k extra. I’d wait for the next gen SR5.

    Seems like it was designed to go against the old ford ranger raptor. Maybe it was designed before the new raptor was announced.

  • @rossevans1774
    @rossevans1774 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    And that's the problem with that Raptor thing, Ford's research failed to realise the fact that Australian off roaders don't buy 4WD's to 'go fast off road'.

    300 Kgs less payload but still rides like a load carrying Ute, and spacer plates in the suspension and a prehistoric 4x4 system … what is the GR Hilux actually useful for? You cannot use it for work or for touring as you are already 300kgs behind all the competitors from the factory!
    Missed opportunity for Toyota to build a Wildtrak X but with slightly more KW and NW … the Tacoma I-Force Max cannot come soon enough for Toyota Australia.
