    After two skunk days where one day I caught one small Jack, one Mullet and one Pilchard, and the next day I got one small Jack, I needed a day of catching. With the winds finally dropping a bit, I headed out to the reef with a block of chum where I knew there would be some fish around willing to bend a rod. Boy was I right. A ton of rod bending action until I didn't want to fish anymore.

    I respect & admire the comfort you exhibit piloting your minimalist fishing craft. What you got there I can't afford but EVEN if I could afford those flashy fiberglass overpowered outboard boats sitting in most marinas, I would not want them. Your kind of boating I aspire to, or at least dream of.

    not trying to be negative just a question when we cut the line with the hook somewhere in its mouth as far as i, concerned those hooks dont rust away ??? wont that hinder the fish or if its a little deeper in it wont be able to eat??

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right. People pat themselfs on the back and say it will rust out. No it wont. It has been proven a million of times.

    • @Whydoyoureadme
      @Whydoyoureadme 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ It really depends on the hook. If you buy hooks designed to rust, they will eventually rust. If you buy any of those expensive hooks that don't rust, it will take months if not years. However, if you fish it's inevitable to hook creatures you don't want, and if said creature could sever your fingers or even your hand, I say take the chance and let the fish go with the hook. Do that, or don't fish. Don't risk your bodily integrity for the sake of one animal. If you do it a lot, maybe consider something else.

    Hey, Steve, how you doing Brother? Thanks for the stickers. I put it right on my my kayak and it looks great. Anyway, I have a question. I saw one of your videos when you lost one of your expensive rods. Have you done anything in case something like that was to happen or have you ever the kayak over to the point that you have to recover all your gear? Are you set up for that? Some of the other videos that I've seen of guy setting up their kayaks say just take cheap rods out. But then I'm thinking to myself then what's the purpose of me getting these fancy Rod that I like to use If I cannot use them wherever I go fishing.

      @@BigDsGaming2022 That cuda I had on Bali 10 years ago was half white and half dark meat. The tail section was white and the main body containing the organ cavity was dark meat. They sold me the whole fish for $10 and cooked and prepared it, I ate the white part and told them to do whatever they wanted with the rest. This was a makeshift small business on an undeveloped white sand beach where it was just a BBQ grill using coconut shells as fuel, a small hut and picnic table with a cooler full of beer and things they were selling. It was very nice and cheap as well paying just $10 for a 10 pound fish, preparation, drinks, and condiments like limes. Delicious fish typically runs only a dollar a pound or $2 a kilo in many of the tropical countries like Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines. Probably cheaper and more exotic than Florida and the Caribbean. It would be incredibly fun to go out with Steve in the Keys.
