being dragged into the edge of the storm by a huge fish . . . . can life get any better ?

You have some serious stones. I grew up in Florida, and lightening scares the hell out of me. I live in Utah now and when the lightning is striking in the canyon it’s back to the car. Your channel is exhilarating! Keep em coming!

That fish had a smart fight strategy...Tow his sorry ass directly to the lightning. Lol!

Hello, I think that I only watched 1 other video you made, so this would be number 2. At 7:51, I was like, "WOW!" Tarpin on the line, breaching like a whale, in slow motion; nice touch. The second time he jumped, right in front of the kayak was a REALLY cool surprise too.
Thanks for all of your personal knowledge, and fishing techniques that you share. You have a very good presentation, and appearance. Keep teaching folks the JOY of fishing.
Btw, the way you ended the fight because of the impending doom, which looked like Apocalypse NOW, got me literally LAUGHING OUT LOUD.
Live to fight (fish) another day. Wise decision; Even if it wasn't your choice 100%.

Between this one and the nighttime tarpon when you wound up getting pulled wayyyy out, I'd have to say that you have the most extreme kayak fishing channel on yt. You are always super calm and clear-minded whenever it gets sketchy. Around the 14 min mark I was like ok he needs to get out of there. Pretty hardcore man!

That would have been a fish of my lifetime. It looked you tightened down on the drag to speed up the process (either land the fish or break off) but since I dont get the opportunity to fight a tarpon like that... i probably would have kept up with the fight and dealt with the storm. Nice job Steve... always entertaining.

Question: at (1:25) if you forgot to check the tides, winds, etc then are you able to just check 'windfinder' and other apps on your cell-phone? Or do you not carry that on the kayak? (I keep my phone, keys, and wallet inside one of those 8inch waterproof boxes, for safety). But anyways, I know you know the area...and you can closely guess the tides from a previous days fishing. Oh NO sorry about ANOTHER anchor lost :-( ...that sucks especially with those storms in background during past few days. OMG that Tarpon looks HUGE at (7:47) looks like 150lbs!! That break-off couldn't of happened at a better time when the wind gusts had just started kicking up. The storm was moving so fast that it had a distinct 'line' of clouds on the front edge. THOSE are the ones that like to flip kayaks over. I was on a lake in Mississippi a couple months ago and surrounded by trees, so by the time I seen the storm it was on top of me within 5mins and started blowing 35-40mph winds! I hardly had anytime to bring in the lines and find a nearby tree to tie off too. I almost got rolled over because the winds tried to turn my kayak sideways no matter how hard I tried to keep facing into the wind. 10mins later it was all over like nothing happened. I'm glad you made it back too on this video, that Tarpon was HUGE though...ready to be caught another day.

I'll be in Florida kayak fishing a month from now, a tarpon is on my bucket list. Thankfully March is not the storm season, but it's also iffy if there will be tarpon in SW Florida by then. But so far it's been a warm winter so if the water gets a little warmer there should be tarpon.

Hey Steve can you answer 2 questions? Was he pulling you, couldn't tell cause the water was changing. And can a tampon that size shoot straight up and flip you? I have a jonny boats bass 100, with the 2.5 Suzuki, and going to make a small set of stabilizers for the middle. If you could Give your opinion. That'd be great..Thanks..

I am not a Patron but what is the cost of an anchor I would def like to assist if not get it for you. Thank you very much for moving back to the fishing videos instead of the t-shirt videos. Gotta say, I really enjoy your channel. The catch & cook segment is awesome. The best part aside from the fishing & cooking is that, unlike everyone on TH-cam, you don't say to like & subscribe. I find that annoying! Obviously, I like your channel, so I subscribed, & I hit the bell for alerts. So why would I need to be asked or told to do that if I would do it anyway?
You are a savage out there & I have been binge watching your videos since I don't have the time to get the kayak out on the water at the moment 😢.
Could you do a grouper fishing video now that season is finally open? I'd love to watch that!
