    I have 2006 with 453,000 and my work truck is a 2012 with the 4.6. 244,000 miles. Great trucks. I run them hard and never let me down

      repairvehicle the 2006 is all original. Just routine maintenance since 2006. The 2012 I got back in Oct 2018 with 82,000 miles on it. I have put 162,000 miles on it in 18 months. I drive about 2200 miles a week on avg. I pull a 5000 pound boom lift. The only thing that has been repaired on the 2012 is the secondary air injection pumps.

    Have an 09 Base Tundra ext. cab 2 wheel drive with the 4.0 V-6 it's a great truck, gets around just fine and when i bought it a year ago it only had 20,100 original miles, got it from an estate sale the former owner was retired & passed away. Now it has 27,500 miles. Has all the dealer paperwork, plus what i've done to it. Yes it still has the skid pan except it was missing two bolts.

    Repairvehicle,
    Does the 4.6 engine have good power or does it feel alittle sluggish during acceleration?

    • @repairvehicle
      @repairvehicle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      4.6 is completely different beast. I have 5.7 Sequoia and 4.6 tundra. With 5.7 you have ton of torque at low engine speed. 4.6 moves truck effortlessly, it likes to rev higher than 5.7. If I had a chance to trade in for 5.7 without paying extra, I wouldn't do it for my needs. FOR what purpose are you planning to get 4.6?

    • @patgenier1965
      @patgenier1965 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 2012 4.6 does all I need. Quads, sleds etc.
      210000km. Have it since 80000km.
      No issues. Brakes oil and tires that's it.
      Love my 12 SR5 4.6.
      125kmh on the hwy between Calgary and Edmonton regularly.
      Solid.

      It has good maintenance history. However, I would look underneath to see the frame and frame rails if they are rusted out or have heavy rust on them. Also, check bed for rust and if it has plastic bed liner, major rust issues there under the plastic bed liner. Also, it’s only rear wheel drive.
