The dual camera, 2016 flagship hardware, and their improvements brought to the G4 instead of making a complete redesign which is worse IMO.
Nobody really cared when the G4 barely looked any different from the G3, so they should've done the same thing.

Yong Je So, Other than bench marks , name 5 things that will push the CPU of phones to its limits . If not, then your argument is invalid. Have had the V10 for 6 months since launch. Have never felt that, "hey, I wish I had a stronger processor" because yes, it in many cases is irrelevant

The price of LG G4 now is just amazing. I bought G4 month ago and it is great Smartphone. No need fo upgrade for few years :-). Fast GPS fix, mSD card slot, Great camera, display, performance. Really no reason for buying much more expensive G5, S7, HTC 10 unless you have to be "cool".

TheDownloader86 конкретно про LG G4, у нас идет масса отказов железа и замена материнских плат по гарантии после установки 6 андроида. Причем у некоторых платы сгорали по второму разу буквально сразу после ремонта. Никаких комментариев от LG по этому поводу не поступает. Удачи тебе до первого визита в ремонт со сгоревшей материнкой.

nice review. btw the always on display is a hardware feature, since there is a second controler for a small portion of the display to reduce power consumption. So if the G4gets this feature it will seriously affect the battery life

I have both. the G5 has smaller battery but it lasts longer. last time I got 30 hours with 4 hours SOT and I had 20% left. it's really OK. my screen brightness is on auto. I admit, the G5 wasn't love on first sight but it grows on you very quickly. I really love this device now! I almost bought the S7 Edge and last minute changed to G5.. thank God!
Have my G5 for almost 2yrs now. I upgraded from the g3, only thing I hate but I did get used to is the volume rockers placement. I do like them placed on the back. But yeah still an awesome device even after almost 2yrs.

I've currently got an LG G4 and I have had it for years but I'm starting to get really bored of LG UI skin. Does anyone know how I can install a pure Google skin like on the Nexus 6P?

I skipped the G4 because I won't buy a phone with a curve screen.
Thus my only option was the G5. it's the only flagship phone that still has a removable battery. that's definitely a win in my book.

But um.. what's wrong with a curved screen? That's seems such an irrational reason to not buy a phone. The G4 screen is hardly even curved. It's ever so light, you can even catch it on camera.

Different people have different tastes. Just because you don't see any reason to not want a curved screen doesn't mean everyone agrees with you.
+Antonio Cunningham I respect your opinion but the reason seems utterly ridiculous. The G4 isn't even curved in a way that matter in anyway to the general aesthetics, it only helps in ergonomics. I wasn't being aggressive or disrespectful, I was curious as to what ever you you mean by discriminating against 'curved' screens. That's the first time I've ever heard anyone not buying a phone just because it ever so slightly curved.
Thisath Ranawaka I've played with one and didn't like how it felt. I've played with multiple curved screens in the past and after demoing the G4, I've made up my mind that curved screen is a deal breaker.
I already had a G3 so it was easy to skip the G4.
I couldn't skip the G5 because my G3 finally stated to be a problem due to multiple problems (hardware and software)

I still had my G2 until this past February when I got a G4

is it worth it?? well for me, i rather.. the lg g4. first bought the g3 just a month before the g4 came out, and i had just recently upgraded to the g4. i was contemplating maybe a change, like, the 7 edge. i had went ahead and make the switch after 2 days but after that, i felt like a part of me was incomplete. i switched back to the g4 after about 11 hours. the g4's stock ui is so much more appealing than s7's and lg gives you more customization within stock all around.

I had the G2, G4, and now currently have the G5. I love the G5. Tired of people complaining about being ugly. It is a very functional phone and did a side by side with the G4 which my Brother has now. It is a very close call when it comes to the camera( even though people say there is no difference). Love the wide angle lens. Will be traveling with some filters to try out the camera with long exposure. Only complaint is they should have kept the volume on the back. Been hitting it a lot. Don't listen to all the videos. It is a very good phone.

I just bought a LG G4. Needed a new phone and it was only $350 new. Didn't want a payment plan type phone and this one seemed to be pretty darn good. So far I am happy with it. Battery life barely lasts me all day though, but I am still tweaking things.
I like the G4 design with buttons on the back.

I would stick with the G4 and if you like to take really wide shoots with the camera there is panorama mode and can do almost 360 pictures.
Wished LG continued with the G4 design language. The leather cover was different in their own cool way and liked the slight curved surface that's so distinctly LG.

I am still using the LG G3. Great device, using Fulmics rom 5.0 which has the g5 UI ported. Plus upgraded to a 3800mah battery. I would love a LG G4/5 though, worthy upgrades.

G4 for the win. The G5 feels like a rushed product and not much thought was put in to it. I would recommend to wait for the G6 if your upgrading from the G4.
I still have the G3 and I don't plan to upgrade any time soon.

Does the G4 will get Android 7?... Man I'm so divided... I really like both phones, obviously I like the G5 better but the price man... what I really really like about the G5 is the dual camera, and the finger print reader..., but I can't decide if it's worth paying much more, I could get the G4 easily with that price tag, but man I just don't know, I'm currently using the G2 and I loved it, I'm a big camera and Android fan, so I take tons of pictures and videos, I use different camera apps and I listen to a lot of music, I really like the G2 so I can expect great things for these 2 devices... I absolutely love the G2's camera, but my main points towards the decision of changing to the G4/G5 is that I don't get enough space in my phone, I just came back from Japan and I literally had to storage tons of stuff on the cloud like videos and photos and I lost a couple videos that I thought that had storage on Google Drive but they didn't... so I deleted them and bum!, gone forever, and the second reason is the SO, the G2 is stuck with Android 5, I'm currently using EXODUS ROM (CM13 based) to be able to get Android 6. So anyway, which one do you recommend? is it worth paying that much more for the G5?, sell me into it!

You do great reviews. But as great as "Faded" is, the music in the background is just annoying. Intro music is one thing. Music through the whole video is another.

All LG had to do was add a metal trim to that plastic design on the G4. Probably add a better front facing camera, a better QHD display like on the G5, and the updated LG UI, that would have made a great G5.
Why do you need a better front facing camera on the G4 it's a 8 megapixel shooter
tom szczepanski that 8 MP shooter takes pictures like a 2mp VGA camera. It does horrible in low light, the quality on Snapchat is horrible, I had a note 4 and the sefies were great on there. The number of Megapixels didn't mean anything at all.
+Jay Bugatti maybe because of the aperture this is not offficial but i assume it still use f2.0 or smaller aperture so its look grainy i use s7e and g4 and i agree that s7 front fancing is way better due to bigger aperture so it liet better and less grainy

g5
G4 is a really good phone for its price right now. Definitely better than the G3. The G5 is pretty expensive and a pretty good upgrade for the average user. The V10 being older than the G5 has much more features and benefits for creating content and media consumption. It's more rugged, bigger screen, and has hifi audio. It really depends what you want in your upgrade

I have the G5 for a week now, and its an awesome phone! Its pretty fast, reliable, and user friendly.

Yeah I love my G4 :D The G5 doesn't have enough good upgrades over the G4 to convince me. I'm waiting for manual mode in video, more modules, buttons on the back again (I like that), minimum 64gb internal storage, 4k OLED diplay, air gestures, a hands free mode to let you control music, camera, communication while the screen is off etc etc (siri basically) and a battery that can last all day with HEAVY usage. With my G4, if I am on a photography trip, I have to switch out the battery at least twice in less than a day. Also I want to be able to record video for longer than 5 minutes (an hour preferably), also, less overheating. Basically they've got a lot to sort out to make it a must have phone. And so does every other manufacturer. No other phone atm has these features so I think I'll stick with the G4 until 10 years time when batteries last all day and phones have the features I asked for.
come on man you just described the V10 which I have. Except for not so great battery life, the phone is near perfect and has all the features you could want.
