I have the g4 and upgrading from the g2 I am impressed with the g4, I have the black leather version, and it did give the phone a touch of class compared to the ceramic back, performance wise, customizing the UI (specifically quick bulletin and q slide) the phone is fast there is no doubt about it, the fact that can use "developer options" you can throttle the phone even faster, the camera is unbelievable, just learning how to use manual mode to get the shot you want is the key, a phenomenal display and "decent" battery longevity and for all out there, caseology (envoy series) makes some nice cases that will fit with the leather back, Josh Vergara excellent review, one of the main reasons I got the phone

A year ago I had the G3 briefly w/ Tmo before switching it out for a GS5. I liked the G3 but it had some overheating issues and the battery wasnt as good as it could be. Also the phone was a little on the big side for me. I kept thinking if only they would've made this a 5"inch screen phone. Well, I just switched to Boost mobile and got the LG Volt 2. I know you guys dont review prepaid phones but i swear this phone rocks! and my monthly bill is ridiculously low. It has almost all the same features too. Finally got my small G3 :)

I had a G3, and i was looking for a new plan, but i wanted a new phone, because my old phone was aging, i landed a contract that only had a 50$ up front for a G4, but the contract also had 100$ in store credit which we used to pay for the phone and a case. I would not pay to upgrade to a g3, because they are basically the same, but i love the G4. the part that completely won me over was the camera settings. I'm a film maker, so i love me my manual options.
G4 looks really good. Was thinking going with Nexus 6 after G3, but now I don't know. Maybe S6? I really wanna avoid Samsung.. I guess in the end I'll stick with LG, but who knows.

The lG G3 now rocks Marshmallow and is butter smooth. My only niggle would be the camera flash, I often get complaints that it is too bright and subjects tend to squint. That said the new LG G5's faster processor should mean that this lag in flash is resolved and the reviews of that model are mostly positive aside from some quality control issues The LG G3 is a great phone, the removable back is essential as swapping out the battery is the best way to achieve acceptable screen on times

I just upgrade from my 2013 Moto X to 2014 LG G3. I know it's not much of upgrade since this is 2016 and G4, G5 released already but here's my reason if anyone in same position as me - looking for replacement device on shoestring budget: -it's pretty cheap now, almost the same price of Oneplus X while offers a lot more (minus one handed operation) -the camera is awesome for it's current price. other new budget phone pale in comparison. -it's super smooth with marshmallow update - when I bought this phone it comes with 5.0, just few hours later I flash to 6.0. I'm not sure if battery life is impacted but so far the phone can last on single charge and that's good for me. The jerky animation on 5.0 like just gone magically. -the brushed metal on the back looks better than patterned back on G4 (considering you might opt for plastic back to cut on budget) Used it for few days now, my only regret is I skipped looking for LG G4 since I thought it will priced higher but I found out a store nearby my home sell it just a wee bit more than what I paid for my G3 (I blame it on my habit of relying on online store too much). Since I'm not really a heavy user and G3 is a already brilliant as it is especially after Marshmallow update, it's not really a loss here :)

Love both phones, however I've owned my G3 for a year now and will never go back simply because of extremely poor customer service. Lollipop destroyed my G3 and now there's a chance LG will skip the 5.1 update that would fix these problems meaning I'm stuck with a phone that lasts about 4 hours with moderate use, wifi not working correctly, and overheating constantly until September at the earliest.
I remember the huge buzz the G3 got last year, but I didn't pay much attanetion because I was drooling over the Galaxy S5 lol, but looking at this video really shows me how much of a power house the G3 is. I'd most likely pay a lower price for the G3 rather than getting a G4. G4's great, but I'd rather get a premium device for a non-premium price.
Could really be more of a VS video if you actually compared the two instead of just taking photos of the phone in the grass or snapping random pictures with only one of the phones.. Really expected more from this..
Actually, I like the G3's display better. The one in G4 is too cool which makes white look bluish (10:09) but also makes other colors look pale. Also G4's display gets dimmer at angle which you can see in 4:51.
For the LG G4 its kinda hard to feel the power button.Its must easy for LG G3 to press the power button since, you don't need to look back depends if you like it or not.

Well in my perspective the LG G 4 is not a major upgrade from the LG G3 in my point of view because they kind of took some apps from the G3 and out it on the G4. Also the G3 and G4 both have 5.5 inch display still the same. G4 has 16 megapixel camera but G3 has 13 megapixel camera see the G4 is only 3 megapixels ahead not a huge difference if u really look at it. G4 and G3 has same 3000mah battery life. It would be great if LG kinda boosted the battery life a little bit more maybe to 3800mah because of the heavy picture quality and hardcore processor. Overall LG makes magnificent phones.

This is not even close to an upgrade from the G3. Its practically the same phone just 2-3 more MP on the camera. You loose the dual flash going back to a single flash and according to GSM arena its has 9 hours LESS or talk time then then G3. I personally run into issue with my G3 at the gym with my headphones on. It glitches with the stupid voice command going back and forth. I fixed it by using a BT adaptor to my headphones. and the battery life is great. Hense im going from an old GS2.
Most of the G4 apps have been ported over to the G3 already on XDA-developers.com including the camera app. Picked up the G3 recently due to it being free on AT&T. Rooted and flashed the cloudy rom that has the G4 UI and the updated apps that came with G4. If you want to save $ and basically get the same experience, root a G3. Super easy to do.

I'm still hoping for a killer LG Nexus this year to replace my Nexus 5, if not well the G4 should have dropped in price by then. I find LG to be better then Samsung, but then I also rate the Note as the best phablet you can buy.
They made the bezels thicker for no reason. And the curve is really not pleasing. It would have been my perfect phone if not for useless bezels and that terrible curve.
LG did it right for G2, G3 and G4. I'm not considering to buy the V10, because specs are too similar to the G4. If LG keeps these standards, they will also get my money for the G5. Why? Because if a company does things right, I support them - whether or not they are multibillion dollar concerns. Samsung fucked their phones up: No changeable battery nor expandable storage. Those are essential for me. Loved Samsung but never felt to switch from S4 to S5. And S6 is - sorry Samsung - a big pile of... you know.

Am I the only one who noticed that the comment section is full of shit saying that the g3's camera is better than the g4's?
I know the LG G3 is old but i'm thinking of getting a new LG G3. The fact that it has a removable battery, micro sim, and a good size phone. To me G4 is big.
ZGzoids if you use it for a while it becomes ok :) i went from a z3 compact to nexus 6 to g4 you get usedto ut quick

Hate that G3 has such a basic camera app. I need configurations and manual mode like G4 and many other smart phones have.
Too cute the black leather (which I have) isn't like a wallet leather it's kinda like that hard leather in a car

Rico If this happened. Make sure to find the video called LG G4 permanent fix!!! ILAPO. This video has links to disabling the cores that affects the boot loop. The only bad thing about the video is that he's using a laptop 😂

Some of those pictures I wonder if they are backwards? Like the plant at 8:55 the G3 pic is so much colorful and more crisp than the G4 on the left??? Same at 8:57? Also 8:59 and 9:01 good grief??

The G4 looks like a very good phone, i would take this over the s6 every time.........The user interface on the G4 is a little off putting but i could simply throw on a custom launcher
still have my g3 beat it's a great phone still in 2016

Got the g3,Brought the g4,didnt like the curved g4 screen,sold g4 back to g3
So not too many changes from the G3, at least in my opinion. So i'll keep my G3, till a new lg comes out.
This is not even close to an upgrade from the G3. Its practically the same phone just 2-3 more MP on the camera. You loose the dual flash going back to a single flash and according to GSM arena its has 9 hours LESS or talk time then then G3.
I personally run into issue with my G3 at the gym with my headphones on. It glitches with the stupid voice command going back and forth. I fixed it by using a BT adaptor to my headphones. and the battery life is great. Hense im going from an old GS2.
I hate the buttons on the G2. Why would they bring them back in the G4?!

Most of the G4 apps have been ported over to the G3 already on XDA-developers.com including the camera app. Picked up the G3 recently due to it being free on AT&T. Rooted and flashed the cloudy rom that has the G4 UI and the updated apps that came with G4. If you want to save $ and basically get the same experience, root a G3. Super easy to do.
Performance still sucks on g3 because its gpu is for 1080p while in g4 it is designed for 1440p plus better battery life

Dont have any heat issues. Using custom kernel, phone flies and stays cool. Even modded the screen settings to set the colors to my liking

I'm still hoping for a killer LG Nexus this year to replace my Nexus 5, if not well the G4 should have dropped in price by then. I find LG to be better then Samsung, but then I also rate the Note as the best phablet you can buy.
They made the bezels thicker for no reason. And the curve is really not pleasing. It would have been my perfect phone if not for useless bezels and that terrible curve.
if you already have a g3, wait for the g5
LG did it right for G2, G3 and G4. I'm not considering to buy the V10, because specs are too similar to the G4. If LG keeps these standards, they will also get my money for the G5. Why? Because if a company does things right, I support them - whether or not they are multibillion dollar concerns.
Samsung fucked their phones up: No changeable battery nor expandable storage. Those are essential for me. Loved Samsung but never felt to switch from S4 to S5. And S6 is - sorry Samsung - a big pile of... you know.
If you upgrade your lg g3 to android 5 you get the same look.
The G4 is sleek but I prefer the build of the S4 a tad more.
