Been running a BMS Intake on my N55 M2 and it’s great! People say you lose power but i’m tuned on bm3 stage 2 and the car pulls very hard. i’ve also done about 6 track days now with it, and i’ve never had a problem, just make sure to oil the filters around every 6 months.
Great job bro !!! Are these MST intakes loud enough to hear from inside the cabin or should I just go with front mount intakes for my F80 ? I want more turbo spool noise. Is the spool up noise satisfying enough ? Or does it need to be louder ? What are your thoughts ? Thank you brother 🙏
Hey Omar! Wondering your thoughts on these after having them for awhile? Have some Eventuris now on my M2C and the fitment sucks, unless you want to shell out another $800 for their charge pipes. How's the fitment and serviceability on these? Can you also take that sticker off? Just upgraded my turbos and wouldn't mind an even more pronounced turbo spool and the ability to clean the filters immediately.
unfortunately my M4 was totaled back in June of 2020, so I was never able to get a long term idea of how these intakes held up. but for the short period that i had them, they were great. excellent fitment, and very easy to service although supposedly these filters dont need to be oiled if i remember correctly?
@@SimplyCarThings thanks for the reply wasn't sure which M4 this one was but glad you walked away from that one unscathed. Dry filters and using the factory lower boxes seems like a solid setup, thank you
I've done a fair amount to it. Intakes, Chargepipes, resonated downpipes, full dinan exhaust, swift springs, keyed crank hub, bootmod3 stage 2, new wheels, etc
CAI are proven to be useless.. they’re mostly for sound and appearance. CAI only provide a gain in colder environments or when driving above 60mph. Regular city driving will result in much higher IAT’s, which as a result pulls timing and reduces power slightly. That being said, I think the sound alone is worth it lol. My uncle put one on his wrx and it made the car a lot more fun to drive. I’m hoping to get into an F80 m3 soon, preferably a comp/CS model. I currently have a 2017 mustang gt manual. I’m kind of sick of it because 1. I’m tired of the clunky transmission. 2. It’s not very refined 3. I want forced induction, but don’t want to spend 10k+ modifying my car 4. The car is black and I absolutely hate it. I wish I had gotten another color. 5. The bmw looks better and is easy to mod. A simple tune adds like 100hp. I’m only 24 so I’m sure I’ll be able to afford one within the next year or 2. I’m trying to get a full time job as financial analyst, but it’s just so hard to find jobs rn during the pandemic.
What’re your thoughts on the m4 vs OG M2 now? I know you mentioned your thoughts on it before but now you have more seat time. Seems like you’re loving the m4. I’m curious cause I’m debating between the M2 and M3/M4 . I love the M2 cause of the N55 and unique look but the premium price is deterring me from getting it. Although the price is starting to come down a bit the M3/M4 still has more value for the money..
I think its possible that they can heat soak more but tbh the car pulls just as hard as it did with the OEM boxes. I ran an intake on my M235i and never felt any “power loss” or had any issues with it. And the sound gains are worth it for me, makes it fun to step on the throttle with all the induction
What are your thoughts on front mount intakes?..I have a Bmw M3 F80 Comp stage 2 been hearing alot of stories concerning the crank hub issue do you think its neccessary to upgrade, thanks btw I'm a new subscriber👌🏻 congrats on the m4🤙🏼
@@SimplyCarThings yea im looking into buying a 435i soon and if I do the crank hub will most likely be my first upgrade just for security. Just be careful down shifting at a high rpm bro please save that beauty
Great car don’t get me wrong but it blows my mind that BMW hasn’t changed the oil cooling housing design since the n54! 🤞 That design is 13 years old, this car deserves better, coming from an n54 fan lol. Hopefully it has better gaskets
Well that’s good, your channel is honestly one of the most straight forward BMW channels bro. Always at the top of my recommendations for people to learn about these engines and cars. Don’t know why the channel isn’t bigger 💪
Bro congrats on the m4! That color is dope !! What made you want the automatic over the 6 speed? Even if the auto is a little quicker on paper, a manual trans is everything especially in a RWD forced induction platform. This is my opinion of course, but theres so much more to enjoy with a clutch and much more to learn in autocross using a manual... I'm so bias that I wouldnt even consider a 335i , m3, m4, or 235i if they didnt offer a clutch
Dual Clutch is just what I prefer with a car like this. The F8X platform was designed from the ground up to be paired with a DCT and it's a very engaging and rapid shifting gearbox. You should drive one, they aren't as bad as you might think!
Thanks bro! Its an awesome upgrade. No I had a full Dinan Free Flow exhaust on the car at the time of this video and then I added some resonated downpipes as well. I have some more sound clip videos on my channel!
I remember when you did the dual cone intake system for your 335i. But they ended getting all nasty and you just threw them away. Hope that doesn't happen with these!
You’ll deal with a bit more drivetrain loss with open intakes rather than closed intakes and after market drop-ins surprisingly. I would have gladly sold you my last injen cold air system hahah.
Yep, i’m not looking for any power gains with the intakes. This car is so fast already, and with a tune its easy to extract more power. But the sound is where it wakes up everything, makes it super fun to drive
@@SimplyCarThings But seriously consider the GTS model of your car, it has water injection to cool the air. Watch some Banks Power videos on intakes, and superchargers which rapidly rise air temperature, if they could change your mind... heat is the enemy, cooler air is denser more power.

Have you had any problems with intake and cold start with a stage 2 bootmod tune?
Is it just the mst intake give you that turbo blowoff sound?

the front mounts look cooler but are less practical and you wont hear the induction as well from the cabin. its personal preference in my opinion

Maybe some minor gains, but you’ll need to be tuned to get anything out of them
Looks like really high quality but lot of money for just sound and zero performance increase.
Stefan Cupovic it’s definitely a bit pricey, ideally you’d want to pair these with a tune to maximize performance and sound gains
