Thirunelly Temple Bus Yathra From Mananthavady

A bus ride from Mananthavadi to the world famous Tirunelli Temple.
It is 31 km from Mananthavadi to Tirunelli via Kattikulam and Iron Bridge. Bus fare is Rs 43.
Kattikulam can be reached from Mysore via Nagarhole, Bawali, Gonikuppa and Kutta, Tirunelli buses are available from Kattikulam.
Buses are available from other districts once they reach Mananthavadi.
Tirunelli is a Hindu pilgrimage center.
It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is said that there was a temple here 2000-5000 years ago. Similarly, Papanasini stream is another attraction.
Rooms are available for those who want to stay near the temple. There is also a pay and parking ground for parking vehicles.
Those who are coming to do Pithrukarma should arrive the previous day and stay in the lamp shed to perform the sacrificial ritual in the morning. Therefore, room facilities have been prepared right next to the temple!!
Most of the pilgrims come here for Karkitakavavu.
This temple is located in the middle of the Brahmagiri forests near the Kerala-Karnataka border. Legend has it that the name Brahmagiri comes from the mountains where the path of Lord Brahma touched. Similarly, it is also believed that the temple is located at the place where Brahma performed penance.
