Also, Dialga OF's shiny looks like it would fit perfectly into a happy meal (imo the colorway could not be any more dull, faded, and "robotically" mixed than the kids meal toys I got from Burger King when I was a kid). Also, Palkia OF looks like it kissed a maid a million years ago.

Kinda surprised not many talk about this. But with the added Enamorus to the Genies, their alt forms actually make up the 4 Chinese beats that belong to the directions, although they don’t have the colors. The Tiger (not silver it’s brown), the bird (not red it’s green), the dragon (not azure it’s light blue and black), and now the turtle with a snake tail (it’s pink and the snake is a scorpion tail instead). So yeah wasn’t expecting that to be their references but now that I see it, I can’t unsee it. Which might of bumped them up a little in my favorites.

@@cyberwarrior5939, while it is true that Gen 5 was massively hated when it first came out in 2011, that statement does not hold true today. Its stans have essentially become the new Genwunners, and its starting to show with how Unova was pandered to in Sword and Shield (majority of the Dex was Unova based/Unova Pokémon took up the second highest amount of regional variants), and its only been further enforced in this game.

I'm actually very fond of the Origin forms for Dialga and Palkia due to the lore implications. It's basically their way of trying to become Arceus, yet this transformation has made them unable to accurately perform their signature moves, which are actually WEAKER for their origin forms than they are for their regular forms. Dialga has a malformed piece of its armor on its throat, meaning that it can't Roar of Time effectively (a move performed by shooting a beam out of its mouth) and since Arceus is quadrupedal, Palkia does not have arms, so it cannot perform Spacial Rend as well (a move performed by cutting space with its arm-blades). They're so frenzied and desperate for the transformation that it leaves them weaker than in their true designs - it looks bad, because it's supposed to. They're supposed to look like a half-baked pie with an amateur god complex, because their own ambition has led them to becoming weaker instead of becoming stronger like they intended to by trying to be like Arceus. Also, they look overall sick. I really like how they look more like weird ultra beasts than actual pokemon, there's something kind of eldritch about them.
But sadly their stat distributions in their origin forms are much better. Palkia becomes much faster, which is especially great in LA where speed is even more broken than in the traditional games and while Dialga doesn't get faster (sadly) they got rid of the unused attack stat for more bulk. Which is also great.
Their moves aren't weaker. Roar of time has a higher base power with less accuracy, spacial rend has a lower base power but the crit rate is one of the highest ever so it's basically stronger.
While I like the lore implications, I still can't like their designs. The Ultra beasts are just as funky and weird, because they're supposed to be, and the same goes for Eternatus, but at least with all of though, while weird and confusing to us, they're still fairly cohesive designs. Dialga and Palkia look weird and aren't really that cohesive, and I get that still ties into the lore, but I still find them to be.... really bad. I see no reason Dialga has those weird poles sticking out of their knees...
I feel like everyone went through the 5 stages of grief when first seeing Overquil. Denial: Um no this has to be fake it looks ridiculous. Anger: Ugh it is real! Are you kidding me? 300 pokemon in the region and quilfish gets the evolution! Bargaining: Maybe because it looks so ridiculous it'll be super op... or maybe this render just looks bad... Depression: God oh no oh God who do I kind of like it. This is like the 5th time I've seen Overquil and I think it's growing on me. Acceptance: Okay yep I'm using Overquil. It looks so stupid but like... in a good way you know. Also dark poison is low key a really good typing.

Samurott’s change is very simple but I think works well. Samurott was already my favorite starter so I am biased but I think the new design is cool and different enough, plus it’s shiny is way better than the OG IMO. Also I’m so glad the Basculegion forms are now more than just a color difference, and I love new goodra
So the cool thing with Dialga and Palkia's origin forms is that they look closer to Arceus. It makes sense and is really cool in my opinion. He made them in his image. The fact that they look so bizzare is also fitting for ancient deities. I have come to really like how they look. :)
@@tgnm9615 I embrace that as part of the point. The fact that they look so physically strange is fitting as ancient pirmordial gods. The fact that we do find them so weird is I think a testament to how interesting they look, given that these are forms we've never seen them take but have always had the capacity to return to. Us finding them so strange might be part of the point, because we would find them strange. I think the designers may have been leaning into that, and I find it really cool. 🙂
The highlights for me have to be Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Zorua, Wydeer and especially Sliggoo and Goodra. I knew lot's of people would be using them but for once I didn't care. They were just too adorable not to use. I brought a little Goomy I named Slop all the way to a Goodra and I love it.

Stantler just didn't get me too much in g2 so an evolution with Whydeer was good. Basculan was one water type I liked so Basculegion was a good evolution. It sort of resembles some anciant armored fish. I didnt like Rowlet's final evolution in sun but the hisuian form is cool in my opinion and Sameraut was awsome.
I gained a new appreciation for the djinn once I learned their therian forms were based on the four sacred beasts of Chinese mythology. Nice to see them completed with the new fairy djinn.

Sneasler grew on me so much, I love how sassy it is. Electrode is the only overwhelming disappointment to me in the same vain as coalossal. Not a bad design, just extremely disappointing seeing how more creative it could have been. Also, I know everyone hates him, but i adore centaur palkia.
@@maganhassan2627 i know this applies to most designs this time around, but just looking at fan designs shows my problem with it. The one thing I hoped for was that it wasn't just regular electrode but wooden, and apart from the small accents like the angy eyes and mouth that's basically what we got. A lot of designs had the eyebrow from voltorb being a mustache, and that sort of tie up hairstyle acting as a fuse which would make plenty of sense with electrode going boom. Some even had its mouth open showing electricity inside it, and the "zipper" part of the pokeball could have been it's teeth that opened for certain attacks/animations. Again though it doesn't look bad far from it, I just don't see any creativity in the design outside of "hehe, he wood now". I have a similar issue with hisuian goodra where it just feels like the same exact pokemon but with a different color/aesthetic. The thing that saved goodra for me is its animations where its inside the shell, which i think should have just been its base design with it jumping out during attacks then retreating back. It is funny how this is one of the most fun games in a while, but man the designs this time are really hit or miss for everyone. I mean i like centaur palkia, my opinion really carries no weight😂😂

3:36 I have the exact same opinion, it’s way better than normal sliggoo and goodra. I saw alpha sliggoo rolling around in its shell and spent forever trying to catch it. I loved Goodra because when I evolved it, it was massive. I really like Overquil because I think Quilfish needed an evolution.
Honestly I was kinda underwhelmed by most of the new Pokémon, and I didn’t like the alternate forms of Dialga and Palkia But I loved Goodra, The starters, and Zoruark
Palkia and Dialga new forms have definitely grown on me, they look godly, unperfected, and if the theories are true about the throat thing and no arms is true, I love them even more because it fits in with the whole punishment aspect that Giratina had with his origin forme.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Hisuian starter evolutions nor Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms, but when I actually started thinking about the reasons behind their designs, I started coming around to them. Decidueye's form is based off the Ronin, or wandering swordsmen of Japan. The orange straw hat like feathers, the folded wings, and the long legs meant for running and kicking really gave the appeal. Typhlosion's ghost typing made be realize that its Hisuian form is probably based off of Yokai, Japanese monsters. The dead look of its eyes, the drooping lifeless ears, and the purple wavy flames really give off the monster/ghost like vibe. Samurott's form hasn't changed much, until I got a better look at it. The shells are a nice shade of black, as well as edgy. Samurott looks a little slimmer compared to its normal form, and its whiskers are definitely more wild. Its new form definitely gave off the samurai look better than its original form. As for Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms, I'm still not the biggest fan behind them, but when I compared them to Giratina's Origin form, I started to come up with a theory which made me at least like them a little bit. An Origin form is basically like the original form the Pokemon had before adopting the Lord form we know so well. Giratina doesn't have a Lord form, rather it has an Altered form for when it comes into the real world. It keeps its origin form in the Distortion World where it was banished for trying to go against Arceus as its "punishment". Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms probably DIDN'T look like that originally. Yes, they probably looked a lot like Arceus since it created them in its image, but I think Dialga didn't have that bulge in its neck, and Palkia still might've had arms. I think it was AFTER Giratina was punished that Arceus decided to set an example on Dialga and Palkia that they shouldn't go against their creator. Therefore the bulge on Dialga's neck and Palkia's lack of arms were implemented to LIMIT their power. The bulge on Dialga's neck limits the power of Roar of Time, and the lack of arms on Palkia limits the power of Spacial Rend. Arceus probably granted them their complete Lord forms once they did their duties of being the lords of time and space without any betrayal.
Their powers aren't limited though. Roar of time has a higher base power with a lower accuracy and Spacial Rend has a lower base power but one of the highest crit rates in the game so it's arguably stronger

I for one personally really like Ursaluna, being kinda what I've always wanted out of a bear Pokemon with it being on all fours. To me, it makes it when it does stand up more imposing than just being a bipedal bear. ESPECIALLY when it's alpha sized, I like me's a BIG BEAR! ... also I'm an absolute sucker for riding it all over the region while listening to Bare Necessities, I don't care if other riding Pokemon are faster, it just feels great! I also agree that Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark is one of the best new Pokemon added to Legends Arceus, being my favorite next to Ursaluna. I've brought this up before, but everything from H Zoroark's typing, to it's looks, to the way it moves, to it's backstory, it gives off Deranged Rage Zombie energy and I love it! I also really like Wyrdeer and Basculegion, definite upgrades from their relatively basic ancestors. The starters all look great, though my personal favorite being Typhlosion (even if I probably still prefer classic Typhlosion when you put the two together). Most of the others like Lilligant, the Sneasels, Enamorus, Sliggoo and Goodra, Growlith and Arcanine, Voltorb and Electrode, Kleavor, and even Avalugg I all like well enough, not love to death, but they're perfectly fine. Avalugg's new typing suggesting that he could be more of a glacier than an Iceberg, and his really fun Noble battle are what saved him for me. Quilfish and Overquil are just kinda meh to me, but that's because I was personally never a big fan of Quilfish to begin with. Again though, still perfectly fine. And of course, the only one's I'm also a little iffy with are Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms. I'll admit that Palkia is growing on me a little bit because he does "kinda" give of centaur vibes to me, so I can respect that a liiitle bit, and I also get the idea of these forms being like Arceus creating his two closest sons in his own image. But yea, I do agree that they're still a SIGNIFICANT downgrade from their regular forms. Especially Dialga Origin when I looked at his dimpy-ass tail.
I actually quite like the new Dialga and Palkia forms, particularly the latter. They give off wonderfully unnerving eldritch horror vibes for me. Hisuian Goodra is competing for a spot in my top 5 for the franchise, though.

Ironically enough for me, I always considered Avalugg to be the most forgettable Pokemon to me. Yet, this Hisuian form made me at least notice it a bit more now.

Overquill is probably one of my favorites not just because I absolutely love Qwilfish and think it’s one of the more underrated pokemon, but also because its design is so hilariously goofy (which is exactly why I love the original Qwilfish) that it just charmed me as soon as I saw it.
One thing I think is really cool about electrode’s shiny is that the regular one becomes blue like a great ball, so the hisuian form becomes grey like a heavy ball! I think I would prefer this shiny to it being green because of that. Also I think basculin doesn’t change much because it’s not so much a hisuian form as it is just a new white-stripe form, and I think it’s nice that they’re calling back to those origins
Pokémon sob story: I Saw an outbreak for Hisuian Zoroark, so I decided to check it out. I went about it normally, catching and battling lots of Zoroarks for the pokedex, until there was only one left. But the weird thing was that I couldn't catch the last zoroark, because it was glitched into a rock. Big deal. Guess I just gotta leave that one zoroark, right? It's fine, I have a bunch of them now. But then it tries to attack me and I see a flash of purple briefly clip outside of the rock. I start panicking. I try everything I can to get that zoroark out of the rock. I throw pokeballs, I try to get it to charge at me, but to no avail. But then I remember that I read somewhere that in Pokemon Legends Arceus, if you save your game, close it, and then come back, a shiny that might've been there before will still be there. I had no idea if this would still be true for a pokemon that was in a glitched spot, but I tried it anyway. Unfortunately, when I turned the game off and booted it back up, the shiny zoroark was gone, and I got a message saying that all outbreak pokemon had fled. It was tragic. But at least later in that same session I got a shiny heracross from an outbreak. Still really pissed about that zoroark though. Fix your busted ass game, gamefreak.
Of the 3 starters, my fave is Hisuian Decidueye, looks almost as cool as standard Decidueye 😎 Hisuian Zoroark looks awesome 🦊 Hisuian Arcanine, Braviary, Wyrdeer and Sneasler are pretty cool too, and surprisingly, if I have to choose between Dialga and Palkia Origin, I prefer Palkia Origin, I just like the fact that Gamefreak turned Palkia into a horse 🐴 😂 unfortunately Dialga Origin looks....pretty ugly tbh 😑 its hind legs almost looks like Arceus with the front legs like Metagross, truly a dissappointment in Gamefreak's part 😔

@@kingofcrap4414 I agree, even tho Palkia is funny looking cuz it's a horse, it's not the best design and Dialga looks horrendous in comparison, it would've been great if, for example, they made Palkia look like a Wyvern or something similar and Dialga could be Bipedal with big claws and wings, my opinion aside, Gamefreak missed a huge opportunity to make Dialga and Palkia more draconic and/or menacing looking, but then again they don't care about how ugly they are, they only care about the amount of money they keep in their fat wallets
Here are my personal opinions: *Hisuian Decidueye:* Definitely grew on me a lot especially with it's colours. *Hisuian Typhlosion:* Grew on me a lot as well. Though, like regular Typhlosion not having it's flames really detracts. *Hisuian Samarott:* I used to like it the most but now probably like it the least. It's cool but doesn't really go through too much of a change. *Wydeer:* Definitely what Stantler needed to stand out more. I adore it's beard and love running around with it. *Qwilfish and Overqwil:* Qwilfish was already underwhelming and I don't think that was helped here. The lowercase "q" is cute though If Overqwil didn't have those stupid quils over it's eyes, I might've liked it more. *Lilligant:* Definitely love the nimble dance fighter take on it's design but I still feel like she should've been Grass Fairy for a bit more variety in Hisuian form types. *Kleavor:* Not beating Scizor or even Scyther by a long shot but still pretty cool *Ursaluna:* A Pokemon I like to ride but not one I'd like to use. Just Ursaring's fine for me thanks. *Hisuian Sligoo and Goodra:* Oh I adore these things. I already loved regular Goodra so I probably like it and it's Hisuian for about the same but SLIGOO?! Absolutely adorable. *Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine:* Not gonna lie, I definitely greatly prefer the originals. I don't know, something about these 2 (probably their colours) never made me see them as more than okay. *Basculegion (I'm not talking about worse Basculin):* Very cool, definitely prefer the male but just amazing *Husuian Voltorb and Electrode:* Let me put it this way, the form of these Pokemon that's happy is the one I prefer. *Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasnler:* Sneasel's amazing, probably one of my favourite forms, Sneasler's just alright though. Not bad but not great. Also don't really like it's name since it's way too close to Sneasel. *Hisuian Avalugg:* Ummmmm......I think it looks good frenzied. That's all the complements it's getting though. This thing is ugly. *Hisuian Zorua and Zoruark:* Zorua is a 10/10. Amazing, fantastic, I want this as a pet. Zoruark on the other hand I'm not as fond of. Unovan Zoruark is really hard to compete with and the hair's just not doing it for me. *Hisuian Braviary:* It's fine. Don't feel too strongly for or against it. We will not be speaking of the abominations disguised as Dialga and Palkia. *Enamorous:* Why did they think adding a fourth genie was a good idea. Regis? Makes sense. I don't know anyone who said "y'know what we need? Another genie". Her Therian form isn't much to write home about either. This Pokemon's filled with "why"s.

@@Velociraptor2000 maybe gamefreak wanted to stick true to the legendary trio rule and iirc this was also the strategy to make people buy both versions of a game because the 3rd Pokémon (Landorous) could only be obtained by having both version exclusive legendaries on your team. And since Gen 8 broke this tradition with sword and Shield and tge Regis they might've thought "Eh, why not?"
I had the same impressions as you for the starters. Decidueye and Typhlosion grew on me a lot when i saw them in motion, the first leaked images didn't do them justice at all, they actually look fantastic now!
I feel a mix between these new pokemon or forms some are great like hisuian zorua line & decideye & others are more meh to me like dialga & palkia origin forms & hisuian lilligant I don't think they're so bad just whatever

I know im alone in this, but the new dialga and palkia have really grown on me, dialga the most, honestly i think he looks good, palkia only needs arms and it would have been great. besides ripping them away from their caracteristic move is such a genious idea, in lore not in game) palkia loses his arms, and dialga, gets its neck blocked.
It's so refreshing to see someone who actually likes Sneasler, it's one of my new favorite Pokémon. And seeing people get incredibly dramatic while talking about how much they dislike it... Gets boring / annoying real fast.
Ursaluna Is beautiful, but they could have made like a split evolution. Ursaring when Teddiursa Is male and Ursaluna when Teddiursa Is female. Ursaring already looks complete on its own
Samurott is my favourite pokemon anyways, so it wasn’t too hard for me to pick. I really don’t like Hisuian Typhlosion, but Decidueye has grown on me. I still think Hisuian Samurott is the best one, but I may consider getting Decidueye as the grass type on my team, post game.
It’s definitely a mixed bag. The starters totally grew on me, absolutely loved using the Oshawatt line, which the Dark typing was surprisingly useful. Big thing really is just the legendary forms. Can’t really give Gamefreak any points there..
The fact that Decidueye's color changes to autumn leaves while the shiny remains more faithful to the og colors and also more coherent with the pre-evos is my villain origin story To me they could've made the middle evos be a link between the non-hisuian base and the completely adapted hisuian final evos
I will say, the Origin Palkia and Origin Dialga forms have grown on me. Granted, I do still prefer how they usually look, but I don't mind them. -Especially since they actually have slightly better stats, with Palkia losing some attack for speed, and Dialga losing some attack for Sp. Def.-
Tbh the Hisuian Sneasel line was a bit of a grower for me. Hisuian Sneasel for me was just a recolor of the Johtonian Sneasel. Sneaseler loomed sick though. What won me over though were the shinier though. I normally sleep on Yellow Shinies, but I like how it's used with these two.
I think with the new Palkia form they should've made it a Centaur since it looks like it should have arms even though it doesn't, and I hate it for that
Unlike Giratina's second form Dialga and Palkia's new form look like abominations, something that condradicts nature and shouldn't exist. Like Kyurem's form when forcibly fused into its incomplete form in which it turns into a monster that violates all rules of Nature, only that Kyurem still looks cool. Dialga and Palkia on the other hand look crippled. I guess that fits the lore in which they get the power of Arceus in exchange of losing their abilities (Dialga using its throat for Roar of Time and Palkia using its Arms for Spacial Rend), but that doesn't change the fact they look absolutely horrible
I'm still confused where this 'lore' that you referenced came from. Is it interpreting the 20 stat redistribution for them both? Because 20 extra speed on Palkia from a stat it doesn't use and for dialga 20 spec def from a stat it doesn't use just make both of them more powerful with no consequence at all. Nothing I've seen in game or in videos on Legends Arceus ever mention this. I'd like to know because I see this pop up all the time but nothing I've seen supports this.
The one thing I like about the therian form of enamourus is that now the legendary group kinda fits the 4 guardians thing. The bird zhuque (Tornadus) The tiger baihu (landorus) ,the dragon (thunderous) qing long and the tortoise (enamourus) Xuanwu. Somethings don’t 100% fit with that interpretation, but it’s still a cool nod to some mythology.
I do agree Sneasler was Poison-ice type, and I wish Avalug was ice-steel instead of ice-rock. But as a fan of the poison type (top three type for me, don’t @ me), I’m very happy with Overquil and Sneasler being fun new additions
Outside of one request which is always there I literally haven’t seen a single shiny yet and I’m deep into the post game. And I’ve never seen a full odds shiny in any game. And I’ve been in a ton of outbreaks by this point. Really don’t know how people get so many shinies. But in all seriousness definitely agreed with most if not all your takes. Avalugg was done so dirty. Game Freak seriously needs to stop making defensive ice and rock Pokémon, let alone combining them.
The problem with rock types is that gamefreak tries to restlessy(?) prove that they are good defensive type (but they are terrible deffensive types) rock type is much more effective in offens, due to about 5 weaknesses. Oh wait, maybe it would be also better if there was a 100% ACCURATE, DECENT, PHYSICAL ROCK MOVE!? Im sorry for it.
I dunno if it's intentional, but I like to think with the fourth genie the force of nature pokemon each represent the four seasons now. With Tornadus representing winter blowing in, Thundurus being summer storms, Landorus representing the fall harvest and Enamorus being a spring breeze. Think it's pretty neat how they were able to retroactively add something that fits in well enough to make that theme work (unlike origin Dialga and Palkia, which still kinda stick out like a sore thumb sadly)
Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Goodra, and Overqwil are definitely my favorites. They were all constants in my team, while the other 3 slots frequently swapped between Lilligant, Braviary, Kleavor, Wyrdeer, Avalugg, and Electrode.
Didn't get to use Zoroark, Basculegion, Arcanine, Sneasler, or Ursaluna because they never managed to fit into my team. If I ever do a new playthrough I definitely want to try using them though.
Ngl, I didn't like a lot of them. I do like Kleavor and Samurott. Decidueye did grow on me, but the rest range from meh to decent, either because I originally found the designs off-putting or I was confused by their stats. ...And then we have Avalugg, Enamorus and the Legendary Pokémon.
I honestly love the new starter evolution's but I just wish Samurott was bigger, next to the other two it just looks so tiny, around the same size as Stantler would've worked much better
For my fire type I picked the shiny ponyta you get from doing “The peculiar ponyta” quest And I love the origin forms for dialga and palkia, in my opinion it makes them fit a lot better alongside arceus
I always liked goodra, it was introduced to me in the anime but the more I saw it the more I felt it was missing something and I'm glad it was added on
I really like the majority of the new Pokemon in Legends Arceus. My favorite would include; Decidueye, Samurott, Zorua and Zoroark, Growlithe and Arcanine, Lilligant, Braviary, Goodra, Sneasler, Basculegion, and Kleavor. The only Pokemon I not a huge fan of are Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms. Palkia's Form is cooler than Dialga's imo, but overall their pretty ugly. Ursaluna and Hisuian Avalugg are fine but they don't really interest me.

I've been trying not to spoil myself so this was the first time I'd seen the in-game models of a lot of these. Can see your point on some of them. It does seem weird they didn't make Hisuian Lilligant part Fairy type but maybe there's some reason. I can see the Patomon line connection tho haha. Dialga and Palkia are supposed to be in their "Origin Forms" in this game, so I'm guessing that's why they're more stripped down in design. Honestly they kinda look like Arceus clones to me, which may or may not have been intentional. I'm not sure what to think of Enamorus; I haven't played much Gen 5 so I don't know the Genies well. I do admit it was a weird choice to add IMO.
The only one I really disagree with is shiny voltorb and electrode. The original shinies were great balls, and these ones are ultra balls. I think that’s pretty cool. Origin Palkia and Dialga have grown on me, which is surprising given how much I memed on them when they were leaked
Great thoughts, very similar to mine in many regards apart from 1. I personally think Sneasler is one of the worst Pokemon to date. It looks like a person dressed up as their own original Sonic character, it had a missed opportunity with an interesting typing in Ice/Poison or Ice/Fighting instead just copying gen 4's very own Croagunk and Weavile is just cooler overall with little reason as to why Sneasler exists and Weavile does not in ancient Sinnoh, that alone annoys me. So overall disappointing on many fronts, plus being ugly. I think another Pokemon should have gotten the regional / rock climber slot in this game, like maybe Meinfoo instead (and Meinfooler).

Honestly, most of these new mons I'm really happy with. Hisuian Voltorb and the Hisuian Zoroark line are definitely my favorites. -The starters and Arcanine felt somewhat underwhelming after all the fanmade concepts I had seen for them, but I'm very happy with how the starters turned out, and satisfied with Arcanine. Also, I was so sure the leaks were fake because one of those fanmade concepts was near identical to the Hisuian Decidueye we ended up getting. -There's one whose design I like despite not being a fan of the concept, that being Ursaluna. -I have very mixed feelings about Basculegion: I don't like the idea of having a different stripe of Basculin, I don't like the idea of Basculegion's forms being determined by gender rather than the stripe, and I definitely don't like that the blue stripe form didn't get the Basculegion treatment at all, but I love Basculegion and the concept behind it. -Enamorus has a great concept, but the execution just misses the mark on every level. The proportions are weird, the pink colouration and excessive hearts embody the worst of fairy type design tropes and feel really out of place for a pokemon described as being vengeful towards those who disrespect any lifeforms. Missed opportunity to make a fairy type with a more menacing design. Other than the hearts and the weird webbed feet, the Therian form is fine. I recall someone trying to pass Enamorus off as their own design before I saw it as part of the leaks and I'm just not sure why they chose Enamorus to pass off as their own over more solid ones like Sneasler. -The new Dialga and Palkia forms are just... abominations. *Why does Dialga look like it has a beldum stuck in its throat?* *WHY DOES PALKIA HAVE SHOULDERS BUT NO ARMS? Why the absolute fck would they not remove the shoulders or at least move them to its front legs?*

Kinda surprised not many talk about this. But with the added Enamorus to the Genies, their alt forms actually make up the 4 Chinese beats that belong to the directions, although they don’t have the colors. The Tiger (not silver it’s brown), the bird (not red it’s green), the dragon (not azure it’s light blue and black), and now the turtle with a snake tail (it’s pink and the snake is a scorpion tail instead). So yeah wasn’t expecting that to be their references but now that I see it, I can’t unsee it. Which might of bumped them up a little in my favorites.

Its stans have essentially become the new Genwunners, and its starting to show with how Unova was pandered to in Sword and Shield (majority of the Dex was Unova based/Unova Pokémon took up the second highest amount of regional variants), and its only been further enforced in this game.

I'm actually very fond of the Origin forms for Dialga and Palkia due to the lore implications. It's basically their way of trying to become Arceus, yet this transformation has made them unable to accurately perform their signature moves, which are actually WEAKER for their origin forms than they are for their regular forms. Dialga has a malformed piece of its armor on its throat, meaning that it can't Roar of Time effectively (a move performed by shooting a beam out of its mouth) and since Arceus is quadrupedal, Palkia does not have arms, so it cannot perform Spacial Rend as well (a move performed by cutting space with its arm-blades). They're so frenzied and desperate for the transformation that it leaves them weaker than in their true designs - it looks bad, because it's supposed to. They're supposed to look like a half-baked pie with an amateur god complex, because their own ambition has led them to becoming weaker instead of becoming stronger like they intended to by trying to be like Arceus.
Also, they look overall sick. I really like how they look more like weird ultra beasts than actual pokemon, there's something kind of eldritch about them.
But sadly their stat distributions in their origin forms are much better. Palkia becomes much faster, which is especially great in LA where speed is even more broken than in the traditional games and while Dialga doesn't get faster (sadly) they got rid of the unused attack stat for more bulk. Which is also great.

Their moves aren't weaker. Roar of time has a higher base power with less accuracy, spacial rend has a lower base power but the crit rate is one of the highest ever so it's basically stronger.
While I like the lore implications, I still can't like their designs. The Ultra beasts are just as funky and weird, because they're supposed to be, and the same goes for Eternatus, but at least with all of though, while weird and confusing to us, they're still fairly cohesive designs. Dialga and Palkia look weird and aren't really that cohesive, and I get that still ties into the lore, but I still find them to be.... really bad. I see no reason Dialga has those weird poles sticking out of their knees...

Not gonna lie, qwilfish was never interesting to me. Found a shiny qwilfish as my first in the game and use it regularly now lol. Its grown on me since
I think its name and design fit well together since it's named after the word "overkill," which is a good way to describe its absurdly large spikes
I loved its coloring and the Q in its tail. It being a giant spike ball is just a cherry on top.

Samurott’s change is very simple but I think works well. Samurott was already my favorite starter so I am biased but I think the new design is cool and different enough, plus it’s shiny is way better than the OG IMO.
Also I’m so glad the Basculegion forms are now more than just a color difference, and I love new goodra

So the cool thing with Dialga and Palkia's origin forms is that they look closer to Arceus. It makes sense and is really cool in my opinion. He made them in his image. The fact that they look so bizzare is also fitting for ancient deities. I have come to really like how they look. :)

The fact that we do find them so weird is I think a testament to how interesting they look, given that these are forms we've never seen them take but have always had the capacity to return to. Us finding them so strange might be part of the point, because we would find them strange. I think the designers may have been leaning into that, and I find it really cool. 🙂

Bullshit excuse for crap design
The highlights for me have to be Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Zorua, Wydeer and especially Sliggoo and Goodra. I knew lot's of people would be using them but for once I didn't care. They were just too adorable not to use. I brought a little Goomy I named Slop all the way to a Goodra and I love it.
Sliggoo and Goodra grew on me a lot. Definitely gonna shiny hunt at some point. The best shinies are absolutely Zorua and Zoroark

@@kerrywien6775 I was hooked on kleavor from day one. Lv 80 in my main party and evolved menny scyther for later whenever I got a black agorite.
Stantler just didn't get me too much in g2 so an evolution with Whydeer was good. Basculan was one water type I liked so Basculegion was a good evolution. It sort of resembles some anciant armored fish. I didnt like Rowlet's final evolution in sun but the hisuian form is cool in my opinion and Sameraut was awsome.

Sneasler grew on me so much, I love how sassy it is. Electrode is the only overwhelming disappointment to me in the same vain as coalossal. Not a bad design, just extremely disappointing seeing how more creative it could have been.
Also, I know everyone hates him, but i adore centaur palkia.
Not sure what you could improve on huseian electrode to make it look better 🤷♂️ put a goofy moustache?
@@maganhassan2627 i know this applies to most designs this time around, but just looking at fan designs shows my problem with it. The one thing I hoped for was that it wasn't just regular electrode but wooden, and apart from the small accents like the angy eyes and mouth that's basically what we got. A lot of designs had the eyebrow from voltorb being a mustache, and that sort of tie up hairstyle acting as a fuse which would make plenty of sense with electrode going boom. Some even had its mouth open showing electricity inside it, and the "zipper" part of the pokeball could have been it's teeth that opened for certain attacks/animations. Again though it doesn't look bad far from it, I just don't see any creativity in the design outside of "hehe, he wood now".
I have a similar issue with hisuian goodra where it just feels like the same exact pokemon but with a different color/aesthetic. The thing that saved goodra for me is its animations where its inside the shell, which i think should have just been its base design with it jumping out during attacks then retreating back. It is funny how this is one of the most fun games in a while, but man the designs this time are really hit or miss for everyone. I mean i like centaur palkia, my opinion really carries no weight😂😂

3:36 I have the exact same opinion, it’s way better than normal sliggoo and goodra. I saw alpha sliggoo rolling around in its shell and spent forever trying to catch it. I loved Goodra because when I evolved it, it was massive. I really like Overquil because I think Quilfish needed an evolution.
I wish they made H-Goodra a quadruped though. it would've fit better with the snail theme

I love hisuan typhlosion so much and Ursaluna is honestly up there as one of my favorite Pokémon now
I wasn't a huge fan of the Hisuian starter evolutions nor Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms, but when I actually started thinking about the reasons behind their designs, I started coming around to them.
Decidueye's form is based off the Ronin, or wandering swordsmen of Japan. The orange straw hat like feathers, the folded wings, and the long legs meant for running and kicking really gave the appeal.
Typhlosion's ghost typing made be realize that its Hisuian form is probably based off of Yokai, Japanese monsters. The dead look of its eyes, the drooping lifeless ears, and the purple wavy flames really give off the monster/ghost like vibe.
Samurott's form hasn't changed much, until I got a better look at it. The shells are a nice shade of black, as well as edgy. Samurott looks a little slimmer compared to its normal form, and its whiskers are definitely more wild. Its new form definitely gave off the samurai look better than its original form.
As for Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms, I'm still not the biggest fan behind them, but when I compared them to Giratina's Origin form, I started to come up with a theory which made me at least like them a little bit. An Origin form is basically like the original form the Pokemon had before adopting the Lord form we know so well. Giratina doesn't have a Lord form, rather it has an Altered form for when it comes into the real world. It keeps its origin form in the Distortion World where it was banished for trying to go against Arceus as its "punishment". Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms probably DIDN'T look like that originally. Yes, they probably looked a lot like Arceus since it created them in its image, but I think Dialga didn't have that bulge in its neck, and Palkia still might've had arms. I think it was AFTER Giratina was punished that Arceus decided to set an example on Dialga and Palkia that they shouldn't go against their creator. Therefore the bulge on Dialga's neck and Palkia's lack of arms were implemented to LIMIT their power. The bulge on Dialga's neck limits the power of Roar of Time, and the lack of arms on Palkia limits the power of Spacial Rend. Arceus probably granted them their complete Lord forms once they did their duties of being the lords of time and space without any betrayal.

I for one personally really like Ursaluna, being kinda what I've always wanted out of a bear Pokemon with it being on all fours. To me, it makes it when it does stand up more imposing than just being a bipedal bear. ESPECIALLY when it's alpha sized, I like me's a BIG BEAR!
... also I'm an absolute sucker for riding it all over the region while listening to Bare Necessities, I don't care if other riding Pokemon are faster, it just feels great!
I also agree that Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark is one of the best new Pokemon added to Legends Arceus, being my favorite next to Ursaluna. I've brought this up before, but everything from H Zoroark's typing, to it's looks, to the way it moves, to it's backstory, it gives off Deranged Rage Zombie energy and I love it!
I also really like Wyrdeer and Basculegion, definite upgrades from their relatively basic ancestors. The starters all look great, though my personal favorite being Typhlosion (even if I probably still prefer classic Typhlosion when you put the two together).
Most of the others like Lilligant, the Sneasels, Enamorus, Sliggoo and Goodra, Growlith and Arcanine, Voltorb and Electrode, Kleavor, and even Avalugg I all like well enough, not love to death, but they're perfectly fine. Avalugg's new typing suggesting that he could be more of a glacier than an Iceberg, and his really fun Noble battle are what saved him for me.
Quilfish and Overquil are just kinda meh to me, but that's because I was personally never a big fan of Quilfish to begin with. Again though, still perfectly fine.
And of course, the only one's I'm also a little iffy with are Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms. I'll admit that Palkia is growing on me a little bit because he does "kinda" give of centaur vibes to me, so I can respect that a liiitle bit, and I also get the idea of these forms being like Arceus creating his two closest sons in his own image. But yea, I do agree that they're still a SIGNIFICANT downgrade from their regular forms. Especially Dialga Origin when I looked at his dimpy-ass tail.

I actually quite like the new Dialga and Palkia forms, particularly the latter. They give off wonderfully unnerving eldritch horror vibes for me. Hisuian Goodra is competing for a spot in my top 5 for the franchise, though.

My favorite new pokémon in PLA is sneasler because the design is much more majestic than it’s counterpart and it’s typing of poison/fighting is amazing too, sneasler is a majestic weasel and sneasler is my current favorite pokémon in PLA that isn’t a legendary or mythical because sneasler is just so cool. I’m hoping that all these ancient pokémons especially sneasler to return to the modern times in Gen 9.

Overquill is probably one of my favorites not just because I absolutely love Qwilfish and think it’s one of the more underrated pokemon, but also because its design is so hilariously goofy (which is exactly why I love the original Qwilfish) that it just charmed me as soon as I saw it.
Decidueye looks like Skull Kid from LOZ. That’s why I’m picking it.
One thing I think is really cool about electrode’s shiny is that the regular one becomes blue like a great ball, so the hisuian form becomes grey like a heavy ball! I think I would prefer this shiny to it being green because of that.
Also I think basculin doesn’t change much because it’s not so much a hisuian form as it is just a new white-stripe form, and I think it’s nice that they’re calling back to those origins
Pokémon sob story: I Saw an outbreak for Hisuian Zoroark, so I decided to check it out. I went about it normally, catching and battling lots of Zoroarks for the pokedex, until there was only one left. But the weird thing was that I couldn't catch the last zoroark, because it was glitched into a rock. Big deal. Guess I just gotta leave that one zoroark, right? It's fine, I have a bunch of them now.
But then it tries to attack me and I see a flash of purple briefly clip outside of the rock. I start panicking. I try everything I can to get that zoroark out of the rock. I throw pokeballs, I try to get it to charge at me, but to no avail. But then I remember that I read somewhere that in Pokemon Legends Arceus, if you save your game, close it, and then come back, a shiny that might've been there before will still be there. I had no idea if this would still be true for a pokemon that was in a glitched spot, but I tried it anyway.
Unfortunately, when I turned the game off and booted it back up, the shiny zoroark was gone, and I got a message saying that all outbreak pokemon had fled. It was tragic. But at least later in that same session I got a shiny heracross from an outbreak. Still really pissed about that zoroark though. Fix your busted ass game, gamefreak.
Of the 3 starters, my fave is Hisuian Decidueye, looks almost as cool as standard Decidueye 😎

Hisuian Arcanine, Braviary, Wyrdeer and Sneasler are pretty cool too, and surprisingly, if I have to choose between Dialga and Palkia Origin, I prefer Palkia Origin, I just like the fact that Gamefreak turned Palkia into a horse 🐴 😂 unfortunately Dialga Origin looks....pretty ugly tbh 😑 its hind legs almost looks like Arceus with the front legs like Metagross, truly a dissappointment in Gamefreak's part 😔

@@kingofcrap4414 I agree, even tho Palkia is funny looking cuz it's a horse, it's not the best design and Dialga looks horrendous in comparison, it would've been great if, for example, they made Palkia look like a Wyvern or something similar and Dialga could be Bipedal with big claws and wings, my opinion aside, Gamefreak missed a huge opportunity to make Dialga and Palkia more draconic and/or menacing looking, but then again they don't care about how ugly they are, they only care about the amount of money they keep in their fat wallets
Kleavor really grew on me. At first I was pretty mixed on it, but now I love it.

Here are my personal opinions:
*Hisuian Decidueye:* Definitely grew on me a lot especially with it's colours.
*Hisuian Typhlosion:* Grew on me a lot as well. Though, like regular Typhlosion not having it's flames really detracts.
*Hisuian Samarott:* I used to like it the most but now probably like it the least. It's cool but doesn't really go through too much of a change.
*Wydeer:* Definitely what Stantler needed to stand out more. I adore it's beard and love running around with it.
*Qwilfish and Overqwil:* Qwilfish was already underwhelming and I don't think that was helped here. The lowercase "q" is cute though If Overqwil didn't have those stupid quils over it's eyes, I might've liked it more.
*Lilligant:* Definitely love the nimble dance fighter take on it's design but I still feel like she should've been Grass Fairy for a bit more variety in Hisuian form types.
*Kleavor:* Not beating Scizor or even Scyther by a long shot but still pretty cool
*Ursaluna:* A Pokemon I like to ride but not one I'd like to use. Just Ursaring's fine for me thanks.
*Hisuian Sligoo and Goodra:* Oh I adore these things. I already loved regular Goodra so I probably like it and it's Hisuian for about the same but SLIGOO?! Absolutely adorable.
*Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine:* Not gonna lie, I definitely greatly prefer the originals. I don't know, something about these 2 (probably their colours) never made me see them as more than okay.
*Basculegion (I'm not talking about worse Basculin):* Very cool, definitely prefer the male but just amazing
*Husuian Voltorb and Electrode:* Let me put it this way, the form of these Pokemon that's happy is the one I prefer.
*Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasnler:* Sneasel's amazing, probably one of my favourite forms, Sneasler's just alright though. Not bad but not great. Also don't really like it's name since it's way too close to Sneasel.
*Hisuian Avalugg:* Ummmmm......I think it looks good frenzied. That's all the complements it's getting though. This thing is ugly.
*Hisuian Zorua and Zoruark:* Zorua is a 10/10. Amazing, fantastic, I want this as a pet. Zoruark on the other hand I'm not as fond of. Unovan Zoruark is really hard to compete with and the hair's just not doing it for me.
*Hisuian Braviary:* It's fine. Don't feel too strongly for or against it.
We will not be speaking of the abominations disguised as Dialga and Palkia.
*Enamorous:* Why did they think adding a fourth genie was a good idea. Regis? Makes sense. I don't know anyone who said "y'know what we need? Another genie". Her Therian form isn't much to write home about either. This Pokemon's filled with "why"s.
Enamorous has to do with mythology, Chinese in fact, about 4 beasts but why now of all time? Who knows.
I mean, dialga origin form sucks, but palkia has definatly grown on me. It looks like a Minotaur, and i like how its trying to look like arceus. Dialga though. Well, uhhhh Them thighs tho
@@Velociraptor2000 maybe gamefreak wanted to stick true to the legendary trio rule and iirc this was also the strategy to make people buy both versions of a game because the 3rd Pokémon (Landorous) could only be obtained by having both version exclusive legendaries on your team.
And since Gen 8 broke this tradition with sword and Shield and tge Regis they might've thought "Eh, why not?"
I had the same impressions as you for the starters. Decidueye and Typhlosion grew on me a lot when i saw them in motion, the first leaked images didn't do them justice at all, they actually look fantastic now!
I feel a mix between these new pokemon or forms some are great like hisuian zorua line & decideye & others are more meh to me like dialga & palkia origin forms & hisuian lilligant I don't think they're so bad just whatever

I totally agree with you about Hisuian Lilligant being not fighting type. Fairy suits her more; hell give the fairy typing to her regular form for peeps sake! Quiver Dance and Moonblast ahoy!

I saw someone say that the new Dialga and Palkia forms were punishments from arceus- removing Dialga’s ability to roar and Palkia’s arms removed their ability to perform their signature moves which is cool.
Though they could’ve done so much better… Dialga already has a damn primal form. USE. IT.
I know im alone in this, but the new dialga and palkia have really grown on me, dialga the most, honestly i think he looks good, palkia only needs arms and it would have been great. besides ripping them away from their caracteristic move is such a genious idea, in lore not in game) palkia loses his arms, and dialga, gets its neck blocked.

It's so refreshing to see someone who actually likes Sneasler, it's one of my new favorite Pokémon. And seeing people get incredibly dramatic while talking about how much they dislike it... Gets boring / annoying real fast.
Ursaluna Is beautiful, but they could have made like a split evolution. Ursaring when Teddiursa Is male and Ursaluna when Teddiursa Is female. Ursaring already looks complete on its own
Or just make it's evo method only for Teddiursa given how Ursaring has a gender difference.

Samurott is my favourite pokemon anyways, so it wasn’t too hard for me to pick. I really don’t like Hisuian Typhlosion, but Decidueye has grown on me. I still think Hisuian Samurott is the best one, but I may consider getting Decidueye as the grass type on my team, post game.
Hisuian Samurott's added dark type also fits it in my opinion. And Oshawott is just adorable.

It’s definitely a mixed bag. The starters totally grew on me, absolutely loved using the Oshawatt line, which the Dark typing was surprisingly useful.
Big thing really is just the legendary forms. Can’t really give Gamefreak any points there..
I wish the new Dialga and Palkia had been Normal/Steel and Normal/Water respectively, they would actually differ besides by design

I will say, the Origin Palkia and Origin Dialga forms have grown on me. Granted, I do still prefer how they usually look, but I don't mind them. -Especially since they actually have slightly better stats, with Palkia losing some attack for speed, and Dialga losing some attack for Sp. Def.-
Tbh the Hisuian Sneasel line was a bit of a grower for me. Hisuian Sneasel for me was just a recolor of the Johtonian Sneasel. Sneaseler loomed sick though. What won me over though were the shinier though. I normally sleep on Yellow Shinies, but I like how it's used with these two.
I think with the new Palkia form they should've made it a Centaur since it looks like it should have arms even though it doesn't, and I hate it for that

Unlike Giratina's second form Dialga and Palkia's new form look like abominations, something that condradicts nature and shouldn't exist. Like Kyurem's form when forcibly fused into its incomplete form in which it turns into a monster that violates all rules of Nature, only that Kyurem still looks cool.
Dialga and Palkia on the other hand look crippled. I guess that fits the lore in which they get the power of Arceus in exchange of losing their abilities (Dialga using its throat for Roar of Time and Palkia using its Arms for Spacial Rend), but that doesn't change the fact they look absolutely horrible
I'm still confused where this 'lore' that you referenced came from. Is it interpreting the 20 stat redistribution for them both? Because 20 extra speed on Palkia from a stat it doesn't use and for dialga 20 spec def from a stat it doesn't use just make both of them more powerful with no consequence at all.
Nothing I've seen in game or in videos on Legends Arceus ever mention this. I'd like to know because I see this pop up all the time but nothing I've seen supports this.

The one thing I like about the therian form of enamourus is that now the legendary group kinda fits the 4 guardians thing. The bird zhuque (Tornadus) The tiger baihu (landorus) ,the dragon (thunderous) qing long and the tortoise (enamourus) Xuanwu. Somethings don’t 100% fit with that interpretation, but it’s still a cool nod to some mythology.
Pretty sure hisuian lilligant will be better than decidueye. Having higher speed and better abilities
I do agree Sneasler was Poison-ice type, and I wish Avalug was ice-steel instead of ice-rock.
But as a fan of the poison type (top three type for me, don’t @ me), I’m very happy with Overquil and Sneasler being fun new additions
Outside of one request which is always there I literally haven’t seen a single shiny yet and I’m deep into the post game. And I’ve never seen a full odds shiny in any game. And I’ve been in a ton of outbreaks by this point. Really don’t know how people get so many shinies.
But in all seriousness definitely agreed with most if not all your takes. Avalugg was done so dirty. Game Freak seriously needs to stop making defensive ice and rock Pokémon, let alone combining them.
The problem with rock types is that gamefreak tries to restlessy(?) prove that they are good defensive type (but they are terrible deffensive types) rock type is much more effective in offens, due to about 5 weaknesses. Oh wait, maybe it would be also better if there was a 100% ACCURATE, DECENT, PHYSICAL ROCK MOVE!? Im sorry for it.
I dunno if it's intentional, but I like to think with the fourth genie the force of nature pokemon each represent the four seasons now. With Tornadus representing winter blowing in, Thundurus being summer storms, Landorus representing the fall harvest and Enamorus being a spring breeze.
Think it's pretty neat how they were able to retroactively add something that fits in well enough to make that theme work (unlike origin Dialga and Palkia, which still kinda stick out like a sore thumb sadly)

Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Goodra, and Overqwil are definitely my favorites. They were all constants in my team, while the other 3 slots frequently swapped between Lilligant, Braviary, Kleavor, Wyrdeer, Avalugg, and Electrode.
Didn't get to use Zoroark, Basculegion, Arcanine, Sneasler, or Ursaluna because they never managed to fit into my team. If I ever do a new playthrough I definitely want to try using them though.

I always liked goodra, it was introduced to me in the anime but the more I saw it the more I felt it was missing something and I'm glad it was added on
I really like the majority of the new Pokemon in Legends Arceus. My favorite would include; Decidueye, Samurott, Zorua and Zoroark, Growlithe and Arcanine, Lilligant, Braviary, Goodra, Sneasler, Basculegion, and Kleavor. The only Pokemon I not a huge fan of are Dialga and Palkia's Origin forms. Palkia's Form is cooler than Dialga's imo, but overall their pretty ugly. Ursaluna and Hisuian Avalugg are fine but they don't really interest me.

Qwilfish has been one of my favorite Pokemon since 2012. When I saw Overqwil, I knew I needed it.
I've been trying not to spoil myself so this was the first time I'd seen the in-game models of a lot of these. Can see your point on some of them. It does seem weird they didn't make Hisuian Lilligant part Fairy type but maybe there's some reason. I can see the Patomon line connection tho haha.
Dialga and Palkia are supposed to be in their "Origin Forms" in this game, so I'm guessing that's why they're more stripped down in design. Honestly they kinda look like Arceus clones to me, which may or may not have been intentional.

The only one I really disagree with is shiny voltorb and electrode. The original shinies were great balls, and these ones are ultra balls. I think that’s pretty cool. Origin Palkia and Dialga have grown on me, which is surprising given how much I memed on them when they were leaked

Great thoughts, very similar to mine in many regards apart from 1. I personally think Sneasler is one of the worst Pokemon to date. It looks like a person dressed up as their own original Sonic character, it had a missed opportunity with an interesting typing in Ice/Poison or Ice/Fighting instead just copying gen 4's very own Croagunk and Weavile is just cooler overall with little reason as to why Sneasler exists and Weavile does not in ancient Sinnoh, that alone annoys me. So overall disappointing on many fronts, plus being ugly. I think another Pokemon should have gotten the regional / rock climber slot in this game, like maybe Meinfoo instead (and Meinfooler).

Honestly, most of these new mons I'm really happy with. Hisuian Voltorb and the Hisuian Zoroark line are definitely my favorites.
-The starters and Arcanine felt somewhat underwhelming after all the fanmade concepts I had seen for them, but I'm very happy with how the starters turned out, and satisfied with Arcanine. Also, I was so sure the leaks were fake because one of those fanmade concepts was near identical to the Hisuian Decidueye we ended up getting.
-There's one whose design I like despite not being a fan of the concept, that being Ursaluna.
-I have very mixed feelings about Basculegion: I don't like the idea of having a different stripe of Basculin, I don't like the idea of Basculegion's forms being determined by gender rather than the stripe, and I definitely don't like that the blue stripe form didn't get the Basculegion treatment at all, but I love Basculegion and the concept behind it.
-Enamorus has a great concept, but the execution just misses the mark on every level. The proportions are weird, the pink colouration and excessive hearts embody the worst of fairy type design tropes and feel really out of place for a pokemon described as being vengeful towards those who disrespect any lifeforms. Missed opportunity to make a fairy type with a more menacing design. Other than the hearts and the weird webbed feet, the Therian form is fine. I recall someone trying to pass Enamorus off as their own design before I saw it as part of the leaks and I'm just not sure why they chose Enamorus to pass off as their own over more solid ones like Sneasler.
