  • Well its exciting times indeed! I've decided to swap dailys. The seicento is off to a new home, and I've managed to get myself a funky little #1990s #fiat #cinquecento sx! - #firstimpressions ? What do I think? #cinquecento #roadtest #newcar #dailydriver #italian #kermitthefrog

I love my cinquecento , had it 19 years 0.9 engine sx model . I use it for car shows and dry days , all original and in immaculate condition , no rust anywhere , factory paint still under the wheel arches and under floor has its original factory coating , it is my little gem .

My late father had one. It was great to drive, aside from an incredibly rubbery gearchange. I once drove to Blackpool with 2 friends on NYE in it. A little scary, but ultimately good fun. 45mph up a gradient was pretty much all you could do. Such a cool dash & excellent ventilation.

Love Fiats, they have made some lovely cars over the years. The engine on this one is an updated coolant cooled unit, the 60's 'baby' Fiats had the air-cooled motors. 🐢

Tidy little motor and an upcoming future classic.

Love these little cars but don’t have a bump in one. I ruined a knee and a left eye in a 1.1 Sporting

Noise probably front wishbones, cheap and easy to swop out. I prefer this engine, tough as old boots. I bet this car makes you smile as you go along 😊👍🇮🇪 I've got both the 899 and a sporting 🤗 if you get a radio, you probably won't be able to hear it as the speakers are 10w each 🙄
Examine the brake pipes carefully as they do rust. Dry out the boot also 👍

Yes there was some damp in the boot. Luckily the sun was out yesterday and I stripped it all out and left it to dry for a few hours!

Has the Metro gone now? These little Fiat’s aren’t my thing but I’m sure it will last you a week 😂 (I never believe anything you say about keeping cars)

Sorry, I'll apologise now but my ex had one and I hated it with a passion. Dreadfully underpowered. The stereo ate a tape which it refused to eject. The pedals are connected to the passenger side so not best placed. In a jam the accelerator pedal used to give me immense pain at trickling speeds. In the wet on roundabouts it would plow onwards despite full right hand lock. The speedo cable had to be replaced twice in a short space of time because it goes through the bulkhead on the passenger side and then turns sharply and runs the length of the dashboard. The rear screen cracked. Someone came out to replace it, five minutes later he was knocking on the door as the replacement had also cracked. Someone else then came out I stayed out with them to warn them of the previous attempt as he tapped it with the palm of his hand it shattered. I attribute it to the hatch flexing. The next attempt did actually work. as it has no power I was pretty much driving it with the pedal to the floor so fuel consumption was pants. I used to drive to work on the M27 routing by Southampton (International) Airport to get to Winchester. Now there is an incline to enter the motorway and even with a run up I was joining the motorway at about 20mph slower than the traffic. It was also on a recall as the petrol tank decided it didn't want to store petrol if I recall. Definitely the worst car I've ever "owned" even worse than the Vauxhall Belmont I briefly had, the woman I was seeing at the times ex cut the fuel lines on that overnight. Just my experience which counts for very little if you enjoy it that's all that matters.

Oh dear, looks like you had a friday afternoon one. Its not the quickest thing certainly, but I dont have an issue with the pedal layout.
