This was my first car 17 years ago ! I had a V reg sporting yellow! It was 6 years old when I got her. First video of yours I've seen, but great to see you helping keep the memory of her alive! That speedo mounted on the middle of the dash, with orange backlighting made me feel like Schumaker on the road with my 1.1 engine! Great memories!

@@YourUnlockedUniI can't remember the exact figure but it was well in excess of over 1000pounds, 1400 is the figure that sticks in my head. What I paid isn't accurate for guessing how much it would cost today. Why don't you have a go making some online insurance quotes to see what you might pay.

Good review. I think you covered all the main stuff. From experience I would add that the silver in front fog lights doesn't usually last long and rust on rear sub frame and bumper brackets worth checking for. Electric windows can be very slow on some cars and windscreen washer pumps seem to have a shortish life. Fantastic little cars though.

Really enjoyed learning about the fiat seicento. I almost bought one for £200 off a friend some years ago, but ended up getting into the mk2 polo breadvan as a project. My favourite engine I've had so far is the yaris Sr mk1 1.3 vvti engine they just don't die unless neglected, much like the seicento. Never failed to start first time everytime, even in - 6 winter. I'd did burn a lot of oil but I just see it as its getting new oil going through quite often by topping it up 😏

I own a Fiat Seicento Actual (2004). 2000€, she had like over 8.000 miles and she was in really good conditions. Any suggestions on speaker replacements? The ones I have were from an older Seicento but they’re pretty lame tbf. I can’t actually do any heavy modifications, but i was thinking about wrapping up the plastic plates on the AC. Had a seceinto SX Y plate back in 2005 and ended up with the car for 4 years. Albeit being a student back then it took a fair amount of abuse by not sticking to the service regimes either. Had no problems with the electrics although needed new exhaust partly due to poor maintenance on my end. As you said parts generally cheap I could get 4 new tyres for under 250 quid - that’s the cost of one tyre on my current car now!

Only problem i have is that my speedometer is not working properly. I did read it can be a the connector on the gearbox or the speedometer itself. Not sure if the Cinquecento and Seicento share the same brake setup, but my Cinquecento has the best handbrake I've ever experienced in a car. If the cable is new and adjusted properly, that thing turns into a literal drift brake. I need 1, max 2 clicks of the lever for the car to stop. Pull that thing while driving and the wheels lock instantly.

I bought my 2003 1.1 Seicento in November 2019. It was going to be a second car to use for delivery driving. But after selling my VW golf to my uncle, I started using the Fiat full time. I love this little car. It's so fun to drive, and I have also driving all the way to central Europe (Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic) in it. No problems at all, but I wouldn't suggest driving it too hard on the autobahn. Just cruise and enjoy, even if it's a little noisy. ;)

You forgot to mention that the rear axle can rust from inside and needs some attention against this every here and there...
A big difference between the SX and the Sporting/Abarth/Schuhmacher is That the SX has a taller 5th gear - that’s why many who do engine swaps are looking for an SX gearbox...
Btw - I prefer the MPI over the SPI, because they run smoother, are even more fuel efficient and feel a bit more powerful 😇
Driving Seicentos since 2002 (first a 899cc - now a 1.1 MPI SX which slowly turns into an Abarth)
A few nice options you forgot to mention :
Aircondition - Leather Seats (nice black/red trim) - opening rear windows...
With all theses options a well kept car can reach the 2.000,-€...
ABS and double Airbags where widely available in the MPI as well as Servo steering ...
A very nice and easy engine swap for the MPI is the 1.2 16v from the Lancia Y or Fiat Punto with 85hp...
Bolts on directly at the gearbox - the blackbox fits plug in at the wireing harness of the MPI
So you just need that engine with Blackbox and ignition lock/key to win nearly 30hp!!!
The electric sliding sunroof is a bit a pain in the ass when it comes to spareparts - especially the push/pull cables are hard to find ( ask me why I know this...😇😂)
Final - lift the battery before you buy the car - many Centos are wrotten very badly under it!!!
If you wanna have an all option car, buy one with AC and cut the sliding roof in - that’s much easier as mounting an AC afterwards... ( that my struggle now, to find all AC parts and built it in...)

It's a Seicento from 2000 with euro 2, engine code 176B2.000. Owner say it's fine ( but of course he wants to sell his car ), different website one claims build after 2000 is no problem, other site claims build after 2000 and euro 3. The only thing to pay attention to is the alternator. It's best to change it every 50,000 kilometers and you have nothing to worry about.

I am the same size, my friend has a seicento sporting and I fit in it no problem. Seat is all the way maxed out in the passenger seat and the driver seat is a little better but otherwise no issues.
