I know people don’t like a very complex transformation but to me, I find a very complex transformation more fun and this looks satisfying in my opinion.
I've liked many Complex Transformations. I like the Deformation Space Transformation, which is arguably more complex than this one, but it is still less frustrating than this one.
I still like this more than the magic square mostly because of the look and I don’t mind it not having as much articulation as the magic square
If the Magic Square were in these colors how would you feel about it?

The OP Leader? I can't say he's a bad pick, this version might be cheaper right now, but I'm not sure. I recommend the Magic Square over this but that ones hard to find right now, and if you go looking for that one make sure not to buy the legends scale one. If this is your first MP Type figure, I don't know how much you are going to like that Transformation.

@@doomphus Yes. Transformation is easier and more fun, robot mode is more poseable, and I like the look just as much.

in my opinion this figure is going for show accuracy (it nails it in my opinion) rather then iconic accuracy(which is what magic square mp10 and earthrise are trying to do)with that being said i do prefer te-01 over magic square just due to both modes being great and magic square's got a great robot mode but kinda meh vehicle mode (anything behind the cab is just pure kibble whereas TE-01 hid a lot of kibble and actually had the truck bed transform into something resembling a truck bed also idk if thats what its called its just what i've heard it being called)
Yeah some people care about what Optimus's bed looks like more than I do. I will say that the Transformation is not worth it no matter how ugly you find the bed though.
@@PerspectiveEnd for me its just i don't like the look of the back of the truck just being legs so i like how the legs just kinda vanish in truck mode to some extent and yeah the transformation is a bit iffy but it does give takara/hasbro the middle finger showing that you don't need to be overly complicated to be show accurate in both modes (its still somewhat complicated)

Not really no. The Price does suck for what it is, but if it weren't, it'd still be an over complex hassle, to get not as good as it's competition.
I'm just saying this now, mp44 looks terrible so I wouldn't recommend it. Takara are basically shooting themselves in the foot with this whole "cartoon accuracy to a fault" shtick. Magic Square light of freedom looks a hell of a lot better than mp44 or this so I recommend light of freedom instead.

In my opinion i think this is the best G1Sunbow MP Optimus Prime right now; i prefer his blocky look with more broad shoulders to give him a more heroic look than all the curves on MP-44, also i really like his transformation and the build quality.
Though Magic Square is excellent as a evolution to MP-10 realistic look.
I feel like the MS has even more of that Blocky Broad Shouldered aesthetic you are talking about, is the problem it's too much on the MS?

No no, your opinion of the Transformarion is subjective, not objective. Fast and logical are what you prefer in a transformation, other people prefer complexity and cleverness.
That's not actually what I prefer. Those are things I can enjoy. And something that doesn't over stay it's welcome is obviously superiors. Being on minute 23 and just wanting to be done already sucks super hard.
And I'd also disagree with you there. EVERYONE want's the Transformation to be Logical. I don't think any one want's an illogical transformation that's super complex.
Instead saving up for the poftp Optimus hasbro leader class I'm gonna save up for this masterpiece

Tbh I’ve always much preferred the magic square in most every way. It seems that most of the community prefer transform element op which I don’t know why I understand living the figure but I just think the magic square is far superior. So I’m glad someone sees it the way I do
It is superior, I don't even know how there can be a debate. The magic square poses better, the magic square transforms better. Like these are OBJECTIVE facts. They can like which ever one they want, but that doesn't make it better.
The transform elements is more cartoon accurate without sacrificing the truck mode cough cough mp44
@@leviathanthetallone8299 I'd say the Transform Element looks Significantly worse in Truck Mode than the Magic Square. The bed of the OP Leader looks unfinished.
That's where I disagree I feel the magic square goes too high but it's still better then mp44 lets all agree mp44 feels like origami not a tranformation and that's not a good thing

I really dont understand your hated of faux forming 90% of the time it only makes the figure look more accurate.
MS is no less accurate for having the actual grill in the stomach. Mainly because the shape of Optimus' grill doesn't actually change when he transforms. On this figure they went out of their way and made the conversion more complicated in order to give the effect of nothing really changing. I don't mind faux parts depending on the price of the figure, how well the real part is hidden, and how different the real part looks from the faux part. This figure costs a couple hundred dollars, it hides the real grill well, but the faux grill looks no different from the real one. Likely making the grill in robot mode fake cost it an ab crunch, therefore on this figure I feel it hampers the overall product.
Fauxforming is cheating. It's the designers not bothering to figure out a way to make it work. And it was entirely unnecessary here, the grills look borderline identical.
@@PerspectiveEnd Many characters simply use faux parts to look more accurate. It isn't the designer(s) being lazy, as they have to figure out how to fit another part into the design.

Nothing is impossible with better engineering.
Figures like the MS Optimus, and the MMC combaticons show that you don't have to compromise on anything to make the perfect figure.
@@PerspectiveEnd For you; I see many flaws in those figures, or simple things I just don't care for. Faux parts allow for a shaping not allow for with the "real" parts. I prefer a slimmer, more dynamically sculpted figure, something MP-44 offers in spades.

Yeah, but it's a compromise that doesn't need to be there. The MS OP leader has a better more fun transformation, with fewer steps, and it winds up looking exactly as good, and having better articulation.

I have Been looking at this Guy (the normal one or this one) because its kinda neat for his Price. I would get magic Square but its really hard to find
Yeah the magic square is getting tough, just about the only place you are going to find it is on Ebay, and you can still find a good price there, but that's difficult. So yeah this might be cheaper now, than when I got it.
Magic Square has a problem for me. It basically beats this guy in basically everything except one thing: the look. And I'm not talking about Optimus Magnus or the OP toon version. I'm talking both default. The OP has a glossy, reflective red, while the Magic Square's one is dull, which works for the gorgeous white version, but it doesn't work for the red color.
They did a Metalic version of the Magic Square with a Significantly more appealing color scheme.

@@PerspectiveEnd Gotta be honest cell shading just doesn't work on artuculating figures. Statues, sure, they're in a pose where the light is hitting them in the specific way and the shadding is accommodating, but articulated figures aren't in just ones pose and it becomes a bit of an eyesore real quick when getting it into multiple poses or even animating with it.

Well for starters the reason I don't do that it's that would be like 400 dollars if I can even find the figures.
Two I don't think it would change anything. Even if you are right and the normal TE looks way better, the MS is already competitive with the competently wrong colors, and where it really takes the victory is in the VASTLY superior Articulation, and I mean VASTLY superior, and the way more fun transformation.
Both things a Deco does not change.
Te01 is my favorite having mp10 and 44
Oh it looks better than the 10, and it is better in every way than the 44, but I do think the MS beats this.

Well this is the TE or Transform Element, and you won't find any company that specializes in this look. Toon editions are made on the rare for specifically marketable figures. There's only a hand full that I can name ever actually happened at all.

I find MS-01's transformation to be too simple.
The freedom leaders transformation too simple? That's a new one on me. The legs are so interesting on it, and the way the chest grill works is so fun interesting and different. Arms are a little finicky, but they aren't too simple either.

The Transformation is also less convoluted, and easier to do. That is Objective.

Not every Optimus has a Fake Grill. I praise them when they don't and get angry when they do, and don't worry there aren't really many Optimi on the horizon for me to talk about at all.

Fully Disagree, I find they have equal amounts of life and quality in their sculpts and it really boils down to the MS having a MASSIVE advantage in Articulation, and Transformation.
Like even if I say this wins in sculpt on both modes, it barely wins on those categories, but the Transformation and Poseability are a SLAUGHTER on behalf of the MS so no matter if I give this the benefit of the doubt, the MS still wins.

Except... you know... having the ENTIRE lower half of the robot visible in truck mode because its an upscale of a legends scale figure. Honestly when it comes to transformers figures engineering should come at par or above articulation as the transformation is the main feature of the figure.
I mean MP-10 had an arguably worse case of having the legs be the truck bef. Plus, I'd take chonky truck bed vs whatever the fuck happened with MP-44 anyday
@@rolandodr98 MP 10 is also a decade old, and we have gotten multiple Optimus figures which hid the feet and vents over the years. Plus the bed on this one is really clean for what it is.
I think that Transformation should be held in Equal regard to Articulation and Appearance.
And I disagree that the legs are just sitting out there, they do change shape a good bit, and lastly I think the OP Leader's back half also looks like a pair of legs, and like the aren't finished Transforming at the same time.
I do see your point of the underwear though, but it doesn't bother me in particular, but I also understand why it would bother others.
MP44 was a crime against Transforming.
@@PerspectiveEnd Op leader at least makes an attempt, as the shin vents are at least hidden. The lower profile of the bed also makes it look significantly more like an actual truck. On MS Prime the top of the arches over the real wheels is about how high the truck bed should actually be. Again, less its fault since it's based on a legends scale figure. My main point is that the next step for Prime figures in general is to make a cleaner truck bed, and out of all of them OP Leader currently does it the best in terms of the pure G1 look.

I'd say best Season 1 Optimus once we get to 86 movie Optimus the MS takes over in the looks department, and it always had it in the movement department.
I originally thought that,but after checking the source material from the 86 movie I found MS to bulky. They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I'm not saying you are wrong but you probably are. Lol!
@@grahamandlukecollectables8538 The movie is definitely more heavy set than the OP Leader, now if the MS is too heavy set, I don't see it, but where there is not room for a debate is the MS is WAY more poseable.

I can't agree to that man. This looks as good as that, and the Magic Square looks as good as this, so it has at least 2 rivals in look, and I can tell you the MS is SOOOO much better in poseability and transformation it's insane.
